I received an email claiming I owed an organization I have never borrowed money from which is a well known company. It used confusing language that sounds like it is a payday loan and that if I sign up for an account I will then owe the money as a debt collection due to the agency from a past debt rather than a current debt being collected which is the misleading part. I have pasted a part of the email below. I have never applied for this place or a loan with them before. Over the course of the last 3 days I have received several unwanted text messages and threatening/escalating voicemails from a XXXX XXXX at MCU in an attempt to collect a debt that I am unaware of and that does not show on my credit report as being held by their company ( possibly attempting to collect on older debts? ). They call from a California number ( XXXX ) XXXX. The first voicemail was left on XX/XX/2021 at XXXX and stated " Yes, good afternoon this message is intended solely for Miss XXXX XXXX, good afternoon my name is XXXX XXXX, I'm calling you from the offices of management capitol united to advise you that my office was assigned with documents currently attached to your name, your date of birth, and social security number. This is a time sensitive matter that requires your immediate attention prior to the station or escalation taking place without your knowledge. Please refer to file number XXXXX. My direct number where you can reach me with Capitol United is XXXX. My direct extension here is XXXX. I look forward to speaking with you Miss XXXX and my name is XXXX XXXX. Thank you.. The second voicemail was left on XX/XX/2021 at XXXX and stated Yes, good morning this message is again intended for XXXX XXXX. This is XXXX XXXX calling you once again from the office of management capitol united and XXXX XXXX in regards to the document sent to your XXXX account on XX/XX/XXXX. I left you several messages in regards to pending escalation here in my office contact touched your name, your date of birth and social security number at this point I was expecting a call back from you XXXX XXXX. I was instructed today to verify employment and run an asset and liability report attached to your name and social security number. I do not even have a XXXX account or email address so this is either a scam or bottom feeder collection agency trying to collect on an old debt that has past limitations as MCU is not listed on any of my credit reports as a agent handling a collections account under my name.

I was first contacted about this alleged debt via a voicemail from phone number XXXX on XX/XX/2020 at XXXX XXXX. The caller, who identified herself as " XXXX XXXX '' of " XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, '' claimed that there was a case against me submitted to her. She used this particular language to scare me, as " XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX '' is actually called MCU Holdings. I called the number back immediately, identifying myself and telling her not to ever contact me via phone again or attempt to collect any debt, as she was attempting to represent herself as being a legal agent, which is a violation of my FDCPA rights. Despite this being recorded on both of our ends, she instantly called me back, another violation as such rights. It is important to note that this was the first time ever being contacted about this alleged debt, and no one had ever sent me any sort of written communication telling me what is owed, who the creditor is, or even that I have the right to have the debt validated. Also, this is shady as well, but they attempted to identify themselves as " XXXX XXXX '' and " XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, '' and I only learned their real organizational name by calling after hours to get their voicemail since I couldn't find any information online about either of those entities.

XX/XX/XXXX, a representative from XXXX collections company called me and left a message. I called them back immediately and was transferred to the agent who left the message. The man told me I owed {$1800.00} to XXXX and that the company asked him to call me before they got XXXX XXXX XXXX involved. I asked if they are planning to sue me then since he said they were planning to get XXXX XXXX XXXX involved. The representative denied that he said anything of the sort and I asked him why XXXX XXXX XXXX would get involved unless they were planning legal action. He didn't really address that question. I asked for detailed information on the debt, account info, original contract, etc. and he said they sent me a letter ( which I never received ). He said he could email me the letter and I asked him to. When I received the letter, there was just the amount they said I owed, with absolutely no itemized breakdown of charges or original contract. Just a letter with company letter head. I watch my credit carefully and just refinanced my home. I don't have anything from XXXX on my credit and I don't recognize the debt.

Management Capital United Holdings called me several times, they said my name and address and said they had my social security number ( when i XXXX them nothing shows up ) they called my place of employment and a relative. Ive never received a letter from this collection agency so i don't know any amounts or the original company. They've called five times this month and said they would press charges against me to the fullest extent of the law and I needed to govern myself appropriately. Ive tried calling them back but when I called I got an answering machine with NO company 's name until I followed the prompts and I got a voice mail again. They said my account has reached escalation and will be sending papers to my home in XXXX.

On 2019-XXXX, I was contacted by MCU Holdings. As I was driving, I advised them to contact me by email and that I would not talk on the phone longer than necessary. On the same day, I received a document via the 3rd party website XXXX. the document states that it is an attempt to collect a debt, but it does not contain notice of my right to dispute within 30 days, nor does it mention anything else about the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The notice also only identifies me by name, not a more authentic identifier such as SSN. Because of this, I suspect the legitimacy of the claim.

MCU has left numerous electronic messages stating I am delinquent or past due on this account. I have never dealt with, had any business association, personally or otherwise.
