In XX/XX/2018, I consolidated my student loans with XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ). By the end of XXXX, XXXX XXXX disbursed funds to my previous loan service providers for the balance I owed to each provider. I had 5 other loan service providers at the time, in addition to XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ). When XXXX XXXX disbursed the loan amounts to the various providers, the providers applied the received funds to my loan balances. If there was any overpayment, the providers refunded the amount to me via check. I write this so that you understand that out of all of my loan service providers, XXXX is the only one who has not applied the funds they received properly. I have 2 loans with XXXX. One is in my name only and has a balance of {$1800.00}. The other is in my name, with my father as a co-signer, and currently has a {$0.00} balance. I have since been locked out of viewing my payment history on that loan by XXXX, and therefore I can not five you exact dollar amounts for the payment made by XXXX to XXXX, and what the balance was prior to that payment. In any case, XXXX XXXX disbursed an amount to XXXX that would clear the balance completely. Meanwhile, I continued to make payments to XXXX until XXXX could confirm that XXXX received the funds. At this moment, XXXX has been overfunded by XXXX and myself, and they owe me an overpayment refund in the amount of roughly {$400.00}. As I can no longer access my XXXX account history, I do not have access to the exact figures. I have contacted XXXX on multiple occasions, through multiple mediums. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a collection call from a representative claiming I was past due. I explained the situation with XXXX and the representative seemed unaware of the transactions with XXXX. Upon further review, he found account notes and told me he would help process the payments. On XX/XX/XXXX, I sent an email requesting an update on the situation and a resolution. I was told to be patient while they applied the payments. By XX/XX/XXXX, they still had not applied the payments properly. I began to receive collection calls from XXXX providers. The service representatives on the phone told me I was past due and that I needed to submit a payment now. I explained the situation to the service representative, told me the payments were processing and that I still needed to make a payment. Again, out of 6 loan service providers, XXXX is the only one who could not seem to figure out how to balance a loan. On XX/XX/XXXX, I sent another email to the same affect as the first. I was assured the loans would be balanced shortly. When I went in to check the balances of the 2 loans, one now had a negative balance around {$2100.00} and the other a positive balance around {$1800.00}. This made me extremely uncomfortable, as I continue to have 2 open loans with XXXX and all though they have enough funds to close both out, they continue to call me seeking payments. On XX/XX/XXXX, out of fear that they would report me as delinquent to the credit agencies, I made a payment to XXXX. They processed and applied the payment within 1 day. On XX/XX/XXXX, I went in to review the accounts again, hoping they would not be balanced. Instead, I found that one of the loans now has a {$0.00} balance, while the other continues to have a balance of {$1700.00}, and they continue to calculate interest against this amount. I am extremely displeased with how I have been treated by this company. I feel that I am purposefully being taken advantage of by this loan service provider. It is either that, or they are grossly incompetent. 5 other service providers were able to quickly balance my loans and issued overpayment refunds without me even having to ask. XXXX has dragged their feet at every turn and it has become a burden to try to manage them.

The problem that I am having began when my loans were transferred to the new provider- XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) in XX/XX/XXXX. At the time of my monthly payments my private XXXX loan had been transferred already so I made that payment through the new provider- XXXX ; but my federal XXXX loan had not been transferred so I made that payment with my old provider. In XX/XX/XXXX I paid my federal XXXX loan through my previous provider for the amount of {$50.00} as this loan had not yet been transferred when I paid my loans that month. When that loan was transferred to XXXX, XXXX was unaware of that payment for some reason, and listed that loan as having an unpaid payment for XX/XX/XXXX. They later became aware of my past payment of {$50.00} but have not applied that payment to any loans. In XX/XX/XXXX I paid my private loan on XXXX 's website for a payment of {$68.00}, as I had already made my XX/XX/XXXX payment for the federal loan on my previous providers site. XXXX split this payment which was supposed to be only for the private loan, and instead split the payment between the two loans ( as they did not apply my {$50.00} payment made to my previous provider ), hence making both loans not paid in full. I knew this payment of {$68.00} was more than the owed balance on my private loan- with was {$55.00} for XX/XX/XXXX but paid it to stop the delinquency status and emailed XXXX to solve this problem. In XX/XX/XXXX I paid {$100.00}. This amount was supposed to be split between the {$50.00} for the federal loan and the remaining balance due on the private loan- since I had over-payed on it for the month of XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX is currently aware of the situation and have sent several apology emails about the situation and on XX/XX/XXXX I received an email stating that my loans will be reviewed and the amounts can be reapplied which would take 10-15 business days. However, I continued to receive messages stating that my loan was delinquent and that if I do not pay it they will report my delinquency to crediting agencies. This is a problem for both me and my cosigner. I have emailed XXXX multiple times since as it has been longer than 15 business days, and have had no response. My account still shows up as delinquent and they payment amounts are still incorrect. Furthermore, I have continued to receive messages about the delinquency and that they will report it to crediting agencies. XXXX has stated in an email that " you have paid {$210.00}. Therefore, you appear to have paid enough to not have any substantial delinquency if these payments are applied in the best way. " I am still awaiting the reapplication of my payments, but fear that my delinquency will be reported to crediting agencies unjustly. I fear this can affect both myself and my cosigner. Furthermore, I have been trying to solve this issue for three months already and have been unable to do so. In addition, I made payments on both my federal stafford loan and the XXXX loan every month on time for over six years with my past provider without changes to my interest rate. My loan has been changed over to XXXX for three months and they have already increased my interest twice- two times in three months. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer to help resolve this issue. I just want my loan to no longer show up as delinquent as I have made all payments. I want XXXX to remove the delinquency status of my loan to ensure this is not unjustly communicated to crediting agencies. Thank you.

To Whom It May Concern : The following information is meant to inform you of my current financial situation. I have contacted the Massachusetts Attorney General 's office with the same information. I 'm aware that only two months ago, the servicer XXXX was successfully sued by the XXXX of Massachusetts. I am awaiting further instructions from Attorney General XXXX 's office. I am writing to express my dismay, anger, and frustration with your private student loan company known as XXXX/MEFA. I have been dealing with your company since XX/XX/XXXX, the year that I graduated with my XXXX Degree. Since that time, I have experienced only the worst customer service I could ever imagine. I am a XXXX-year-old male with {$86000.00}. In student loan debt. {$25000.00}. of this debt is financed with MEFA/XXXX. My annual income averages less than {$35000.00}. XX/XX/XXXX, I hired an attorney and declared Chapter XXXX Bankruptcy. I completed my degree XX/XX/XXXX, and spent six months of that year unemployed. My student loan debts were not XXXX in Bankruptcy. Over the course of the past 7 years I have experienced nothing but terrible communication, hassles, and total disregard for the situation I am in. I was offered only one chance for Income Based Repayment XX/XX/XXXX. After that I was on Interest Only Payments. Every six months I had to renew the Interest Only Payment plan. I did this twice yearly until XX/XX/XXXX. This was the only payment plan that was offered to me. On several occasions, I wrote to MEFA/XXXX pleading with them to put me on an Income Based Plan. In these letters, I offered to pay more than a mere {$70.00} ( interest only ) per month, I wanted the monthly payment to be at the scale of my monthly budget. They refused to negotiate on several occasions. XX/XX/XXXX MEFA/XXXX notified me that I could no longer make a reduced payment, and that my monthly amount due would be {$290.00}. I have called at least twice per month since that time, asking for a payment plan that I can afford. Several times I have asked to speak with a supervisor, and the one time I could talk with someone in charge she advised that I keep the account from reaching 45 days past due. At 60 days past due the account status is reported to the Credit Bureaus. Since XX/XX/XXXX I have made monthly and even weekly payments, trying to keep up. This is draining funds that should be going to other expenses. I barely make my car payment, and now have it parked indefinitely because I ca n't afford the insurance and repairs. I need the car for transportation to and from work. Paying my rent is also a problem, I am coming up short. I have other debts that I must be aware of, as I filed Bankruptcy XX/XX/XXXX and do not want to be in that situation again. This is what my MEFA account looks like as of XX/XX/XXXX : Monthly Due {$290.00} Past Due {$690.00} Total Due {$980.00} This has been reported to all three Credit Bureaus. At a point when I have recovered from an extremely difficult Bankruptcy, I am now faced with a plummeting Credit Rating, because of the actions of this Loan Company. MEFA/XXXX has created a situation in which I can not catch up, they will not negotiate a payments plan based on my income. With a ruined credit score I ca n't even get out of this predicament through re-financing. My monthly expenses equal over {$2000.00}. per month, and my monthly net income is less than that.

XX/XX/XXXX, I graduated from XXXX. Unknown to me, I was graduating with XXXX loans, all approximately $ XXXX, that were in default. I knew that I had cosigned with my mother on these loans, but had no real idea that she was behind on the payments, or just how behind she actually was. During this time, I was also trying to pack up my life 's belongings and move to a small dingy apartment in XXXX, where we would now be living. My mother, whose health and financial stability had declined, was forced to foreclose on her home, another sign of just how bad it everything had gotten. And something I have never been able to live down. I carry a lot of blame and resentment for going to college for 4 years, and feel guilty that my mom ended up losing her house to put me through school. I began working with the lender to see what my options were, and soon discovered that I was unable to come up with any type of agreement with MEFA, or at the time, XXXX, while the payments continued to fall behind. A number of times I tried contacting them to come up with a repayment plan, and they just told me that because they were private loans there was nothing I could do until I was able to get the past due balance caught up. I called a number of different lenders and student loan companies to see about consolidation, but there was nothing. It appeared that was no real recourse for combining or lowering these private student loans. I spent the summer after graduation trying to resolve this enormous debt with little to no help or answers. I searched for a new full-time job, something that could help me pay this debt and other expenses that I had acquired. This was just around the time the market crashed. From XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX I found myself at XXXX different jobs. One job that forced me to have a credit card for travel, which I did not qualify for on my own, given my loans and credit score, and one that I had been laid off from, after only being an employee for 6 months. I was laid off from XX/XX/XXXX-XX/XX/XXXX, when I finally was hired by XXXX. In XX/XX/XXXX my mother received a summons from XXXX in order for her to settle on a repayment agreement for the private loans from MEFA. After acquiring a lawyer through a generous donation from my XXXX, we were able to reach an agreement of {$500.00} a month. In the heat of the moment and feeling like this was our only solution, my mother signed the documents and we came up with a repayment plan. Externally, I agreed to give her a portion of the money toward these monthly payments, as I was the one who had received the education. However, there were no clear terms and no real end date established, along with an absurd and unrealistic interest rate. As far as I know, we also have not received any monthly statements or any tax form documents since that time. Presently we are on a repayment plan trying to pay back {$66000.00} of the loans that was agreed upon, but it is supposed to be over a period of 7 years and the payments go up quite a bit each year, even though I am not guaranteed a raise of that much. Last year my raise was {$400.00} annually. We are being completely crippled by these loans, and the damage it has done to our credit is preventing us from moving forward with out lives or getting any type of credit approval.

My issues with XXXX go back to just about the first day I graduated college and had to start repaying my loans. Their customer service is an embarrassment, as their reputation will show if you do 5 minutes of research into their customer reviews on various websites. Firstly, their website is completely inefficient and more often than not, the password you set up does not work. When you attempt to reset the password by entering your social security number, it does not work. When you attempt to find out how to contact somebody who can help you, there is no information that is well spelled out for you. In XX/XX/XXXX, I was in my second year of paying my student loans. I had never once missed a payment. I received a bonus at work, and decided to use it to pay a few months worth of my loan right away. I contacted XXXX customer service -- -the number took me about 20 minutes on their website to track down. I asked the customer service rep if I paid 4 months worth of the loan in one shot if they could simply use the money that was over the payment amount to pay up the next 3 months and continue my regular payment cycle once that was complete. The customer service rep assured me this would be done. This did not happen. They applied everything to principal without notifying me. How did I find out? 2 months after this phone call, my parents home equity line was frozen because XXXX reported that I " missed a student loan payment. '' Since my mother, a teacher, was a cosigner, it froze my parents home equity line in the middle of a home renovation. It took us 5 weeks to rectify this. I had to beg and plead with XXXX representatives to send a letter of goodwill to the credit bureaus to rectify this. It stripped myself and my parents of our dignity as working people in the process. In recent years, XXXX was sold to XXXX XXXX XXXX. This was NOT made clear to anybody and my password yet again did not work. I attempted to recover, and nothing worked. I attempted to call and ask for help and they " could not recognize my social security number. '' In XX/XX/XXXX, I needed to save money for my wedding and a few financial emergencies that came unexpectedly. I called XXXX to attempt to get on an Income Driven Repayment plan and received no help. I kept being told I would receive an email to sign up -- that never happened. I expressed to them calmly, " I simply can not afford this loan payment for the next 6 months. Will you assist me so that this 6 month period does not destroy my financial future? '' I was met with silence. Out of frustration, I hung up. If this company hadn't ruined my credit, I would refinance -- -but why would I risk applying to refinance? To date, I still have not been able to recover my password. Their password reset system does not recognize my social security number -- -what an embarrassment of a company. This company is hands down the single worst company I have ever dealt with. They are everything that is wrong with the American economic system and they need to be held to account.

I am writing in hopes this does not happen to anyone else, and that my problem is ultimately handled fairly. In XXXX XXXX I refinanced my MEFA loan from XXXX ( now XXXX ) using XXXX XXXX. There was an overpayment of $ 600+ paid out by XXXX XXXX , and my loan today is being charged with interest including the amount. It is now XXXX, and Im now hearing new reasons for delays. Im hearing by each company there was no error. No one wants to take responsibility for their role in mishandling my money. I reached out to XXXX and XXXX XXXX with multiple calls and Hours of time being told one thing would happen, and it wouldnt. I hear conflicting reasons why things are happening. Such as on XXXX XXXX I was assured a check was going to be sent to XXXX XXXX- a SECOND time- and a Supervisor would connect with me- I gave my phone number. No call or message to me. I was not explained during this phone call why when I called in XXXX the check had not been sent originally. And I had already called in XXXX to hear the check takes XXXX days, so I called again after 45 days, a conference call btwn XXXX XXXX and XXXX I believe XXXX XXXX. No one even then after a delay could explain why the check had not been sent. I was told it was going to be looked into. That I should call back. No one had answers. After the XXXX XXXX call, I received a check finally XXXX XXXX That can not be deposited due to how it was written- my name is in the address line and my father as a Coborrower in the name. Even if my father and I had an account together, it is not an acceptable form as written. AND we were told on conference the check wouldve sent to XXXX XXXX. So XXXX I call and speak with a Supervisor from XXXX who explains she will get back to me soon and does not know why this happened. Called today XXXX XXXX and she explained the delay is because they could not track the electronic transfer from XXXX XXXX. So Ive now XXXX XXXX made a third conference call with an XXXX supervisor who explained to XXXX XXXX what is needed- proof of statement, so it will be emailed to XXXX by XXXX XXXX. Im explained this process back and forth to have the check reissued will be another week and half. Then XXXX XXXX has said another two weeks to get to my account, along with interest. So, if I have the story right now, I should have money around XXXX XXXX. Six months after the refinance. I was also explained by this Supervisor that XXXX was the first time she sees a request for a check to get sent out ... despite my conference calls and previous calls. So either XXXX / XXXX Customer Service are deliberately saying call back and well look into it, youll get a check And then not logging the conversation with notes at the very least, OR the Supervisor is giving me misinformation regarding my account. There is far too much Error here and to be told there isnt any and its no bodys fault by the Supervisor Is disrespectful to my time and money.

I have had many problems with XXXX XXXX XXXX, formerly XXXX XXXX XXXX. Usually in regards to customer service and contacting the company for help in any way being unreasonably difficult. COMPLAINT # 1 : Some time last year, XX/XX/XXXX, I signed on to my online account to make a payment to see that I didn't know anything for the month which I found strange because I didn't remember paying, so I decided to keep checking back on the site periodically in case it was a mistake. The following month I received a letter from XXXX telling me that my one month loan deferment had ended and that my payments going forward would be raised slightly to compensate for the month missed during deferment. I never applied for a deferment. I submitted no paperwork for a deferment. I never made a call to XXXX asking for a deferment so there is no legal reason for them to have applied one to my account. COMPLAINT # 2 : Several months ago I signed onto the XXXX site to make a payment but saw that I didn't owe anything for that month, which I found strange because this had already happened to me before. The following month I logged on to the XXXX site to make a payment and found that I owed for two months. Obviously frustrated, I paid for two months at once to avoid getting late fees which put a strain on me financially for a little while as I had not planned to have to pay double after the missing a month. I tried to contact XXXX about both of the complaints described above a few months later via a customer service request and never received a response. I don't have any exact dates but this took place over the course of the last year - late XX/XX/XXXXto early XX/XX/XXXX. COMPLAINT # 3 : Today, XX/XX/XXXX, I tried to call XXXX to make a payment after being unable to log in to my online account for the last two days ( every time I tried I saw a message that said " that service was temporarily unavailable. ) I first tried accessing my account over the phone with my SSN, which they said was not connected to any account in their system. This is obviously not true as I've been making payments on my loans since XX/XX/XXXX I then tried accessing my account over the phone with my account number. I would wait to be prompted, enter my account number, the machine would say " Thank you '' and then hang up. This happened three times in a row and I was never able to make it through to a customer service rep. I need to make payments but my only method at this point is mailing a check.

XXXX of XXXX, Massachusetts Educational Financial Authority & XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ( MEFA/XXXX ) sold my accounts to XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) without any notification of the change. My credit report reflects payments were made and completely up-to-date up to XXXX of XXXX. I found out that my loans had been sold when my payments were not being processed as they had in the past. I contacted MEFA no one could provide me with any information about my accounts other than they had been sold. When I contacted XXXX, no one could find my information or how to pay. During this time, I did not make monthly payments due the lack of clarity and the potential of the {$350.00} payments to be lost in a paperwork shuffle or having to pay both MEFA and XXXX until they straightened out their act. I was also told by MEFA during this period ( XXXX, XXXX & XXXX ) any non-payment would not be reported to the credit bureau as XXXX did not receive approval to send refinancing papers to clients. This whole situation was very concerning, and I made several attempts between XXXX and XXXX to find out where my payment should go, however neither MEFA or XXXX could clearly get this addressed. XX/XX/2018 : Noted that our MEFA payment was not processed as it normally had. Contacted MEFA Customer Service - Told that they were having processing issues to call back the following week. XX/XX/2018 : Contacted MEFA again - no answers as to why our payment had not been processed. Reassured that there would be no reporting of non-payment for XXXX, XXXX & XXXX as XXXX didn't receive approval to send out refinancing paperwork to clients. XX/XX/2018 : MEFA again - " Information should be sent out to borrowers within the next few weeks '' XX/XX/2018 : MEFA again - " no approval as of yet for XXXX, call back in another week. Based on the facts : 1 ) Loan was transitioned to a new company without my knowledge 2 ) For 3 months, neither MEFA or XXXX could provide any information regarding my loan or who I should pay, or where to submit payment! 3 ) MEFA on multiple occasions told me that non-payment would not be reported to the credit bureaus due to their handling of the situation. 4 ) I am currently up to date on payments and caught up on the 3 missing months! 5 ) I have XXXX children in college this fall with 1 more to go and I need to borrow to help them pay for tuition. This situation should not affect the interest rates I receive, or limit my ability to help my children financially.

XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX , Maryland XXXX Email : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) XXXX XXXX XXXX , XXXX XXXX : MEFA Application XXXX ; Account # XXXX Account # XXXX Account # XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX , XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX , XXXX XXXX XXXX , MA XXXX Dear XXXX XXXX , My name is XXXX XXXX XXXX . I am working on my XXXX XXXX XXXX at the University XXXX XXXX and all I am trying to do is combine my 3 MEFA loans into one to reduce my monthly payment. The question I am trying to get answered is and it isnt disclosed as an underwriting criteria anywhere. Can the 3 l oans be combined into a variable rate to reduce my monthly payment? The 3 loans I want to consolidate are existing MEFA loans. I have been through the website and loan documentation disclosures 3 separate times and nowhere is it disclosed that the loans have to be in repayment for 12 months. When I go back to the Loan Application and Solicitation Disclosure the eligibility criteria states and I quote Must be currently making payments on all student loan debt to be refinanced. It doesnt state it must be in repayment for one year . As a matter of fact I had called Customer Service before I applied and was told that my loans had to be in repayment and current for at least 90 days. Please also keep in mind, I have already paid one loan down by XXXX , my loans are current, my credit score is good, I dont understand the delays. XXXX XXXX has stated that I should withdraw my application. I do not wish to withdraw the application, and if MEFA is going to turn down the loan for this reason I have requested they put it in writing which I can then take and file a formal complaint with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX , The Massachusetts Office of the Inspector General, State and Federal Banking Regulators and the Department of Education for deceptive, misleading, and predatory lending practices. I am currently working with XXXX XXXX XXXX for my loans. I was originally with MEFA since I started college in XX/XX/2012, but my account was sold last year without any notice. Both MEFA and XXXX XXXX XXXX have failed to provide me with documentation in a timely fashion on multiple instances, the first being that my account was sold. Second, I have never received a copy of a promissory note or my loan contract. Third, my modified repayment plan recently came to an end. XXXX failed to notify me that this plan was in fact ending resulting in a jump in payments from {$560.00} to {$1100.00}. When I called to see what had happened, I was told I had been notified and the only option I had was to apply for the modified repayment plan again ( but not before requesting the {$1100.00} payment I did not have ). After submitting my application and documentation, I was denied for a modified repayment plan with no sufficient explanation. contacted XXXX and spoke to " XXXX '' ( ID : XXXX ). XXXX stated it was denied due to the debt ratio. I have spoken with several credit counselors and other loan companies who have stated that I do not have sufficient funds to cover my bills, loans and daily expenses. I requested a copy of my promissory note and a copy of my contract. XXXX told me I should have had my copy of the contract from XX/XX/2012 and the promissory note was available online. When asked where the promissory was located on their website, XXXX ( who had claimed it was available ) failed to find it herself and claimed she was " mistaken ''. I then requested both documents be sent to me, which I have yet to receive. Both documents should be available online at any time to review. Following this, I requested a forbearance on my account. XXXX stated that was not available to me as it was stated in the contract that I do not possess and was supposedly given seven years prior. I then requested an extension on my loans in an attempt to reduce payments. XXXX stated this company does not do refinancing and I would need to take out new loans. XXXX and XXXX have been extremely unhelpful and disrespectful. I have made several attempts to lower my payments over the years to no avail. As a young adult working with this company, I have the right to possess and ability to access all documents when needed. I also have the right to work with a company on lowering payments that are not feasible.

Between XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX, I co-signed for two student loans for my Son and two student loans for my Daughter. These loans were obtained from XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) through the Massachusetts Educational Finance Authority ( MEFA ). For each of these loans, we were very clear that both students would be the primary borrowers and I would co-sign for the loans. However, I am in the process of trying to refinance my home mortgage. I have been told by the finance company that I appear as the primary borrower for all four of these loans. I have contacted XXXX on several occasions in an attempt to rectify this situation. On the first attempt, I was told that " this is how we process the loan. There is nothing we can do about it ''. Earlier this month, I contacted XXXX again. This time, they offered to send me the loan documents to review. They advised me that I could call back if I found any errors. On Wednesday, I received the attached loan documents. On all four applications, The " Student Borrower '' ( Section A ) is listed as either student. The next section, Section B, is very deceptive. This Section is titled " Borrower 's and Co-Borrower 's General Information ''. I believed that I was completing this document correctly by filling in my information under " Co-Borrower ''. The signature fields on each of the loan agreements ( Page 3 of 5 ), also make it clear that my Son and Daughter are the primary borrowers and I ( and my Wife, for the first loan ) signed as the co-signer. However, MEFA/XXXX changed the Final Disclosure documents to make it appear as if I was the primary borrower. On Thursday, XX/XX/XXXX, at approximately XXXXXXXX XXXX, I again contacted XXXX and spoke to a " XXXX ''. XXXX advised me that because I filled in my information first under " Section B '', XXXX looks at me as the primary borrower. I asked him where it explained that in the instructions. I told him that this was a very deceptive practice. XXXX advised me that there was nothing I could do about this. I asked to speak with his supervisor. He stated " I can put you on with a loan specialist, but they're just going to tell you the same thing ''.

For over a year I have been trying to lower my payments with XXXX, a loan service provider for MEFA. XXXX does not even allow you to access your payment history online so I am not able to give an exact date when I began trying to get lower payments. I was on an interest only repayment plan for a $ XXXX loan for 48 months after graduating from XXXX College and at that point the payments were as high as I could manage as I also have another private loan and federal loans with XXXX totaling $ XXXX. The interest only payments for XXXX were approximately {$200.00} per month in total and that is the maximum I can afford on my current salary. A year ago they said that I had exhausted my time on an interest only plan and that I had no other recourse. They proceeded to double my payments to over {$400.00} per month, which I was supposed to pay on top of the other {$600.00} I was paying to XXXX. I only make $ XXXX per year and I live in one of the most expensive cities in the USA. I called XXXX again on XXXX XXXX, 2017, and told them I needed to go on a interest only plan because I absolutely can not pay {$400.00} per month. They said sure and said that they would email me an application for interest only within a week. I did not receive anything. I called back in one week on XX/XX/XXXX, today, and they told me the same story I 've been hearing for the past year, which is that I 've exhausted my interest only payment option and that there is absolutely nothing that they can do for me so I can make a manageable payment per month. I want to make a payment and be current with my payments but they are asking me to do something that is completely impossible and they are not willing to work with me at all. XXXX should work with their students so that we can make monthly payments. Even though at interest rates of 6.9 %, I will probably never in this lifetime be able to pay these loans off. The fact that I was allowed to take on this much debt as an XXXX-year old is shameful. I would never have made this decision if I understood the consequences. There has to be something that can be done.

XXXX took {$6000.00} from my bank account last week. The first withdrawal was under my consent. The additional XXXX withdrawals were not. I have had some issues with this company in the past, but over the years they have accommodated my need for an adjusted payment so I was n't overly dissatisfied ... until now. Part of my adjusted payment plan meant I was required to sign up for XXXX XXXX which is an electronic direct withdrawal from my bank account monthly for the AGREED upon amount. When I have extra cash from a tax return or bonus I will add this to the payment. About a week ago I decided after getting a hefty bonus payment that I was going to make a large lump sum payment to one of my loans. I set the payment online, hit submit ONCE, and got ONE confirmation number. Fast forward to yesterday and XXXX has fraudulently withdrawn an additional {$6000.00} dollars from my bank account. The amount of catastrophe this has caused is unmeasurable. In all, XXXX made XXXX {$6000.00} withdrawals in two days from my account, a total of {$18000.00} dollars of which only XXXX installment was returned leaving me - {$12000.00} and unable to pay my bills on time. I spoke with XXXX at XXXX yesterday who informed me the 'refund ' process takes 30 days and my best bet is to speak with my bank. XXXX took money from my bank account without my permission. Having my bank information for PREVIOUSLY AGREED UPON monthly charges does not permit you to take large sums of money from my bank account. I will be calling the company again on Monday and requesting a more timely resolution to this issue, if not I will be seeking legal counsel and seeking damages for the other accounts that I can not payoff while this issue is being resolved. My bank account is now negative thousands of dollars and I can not pay my rent, buy groceries and will be late on and charged fees for a number of other loan and utility accounts. Furthermore, I am being additionally charged for everyday it is negative. Which will be until the payment is refunded.

Back in either XX/XX/XXXX or XX/XX/XXXX my loan provider, XXXX, double charged me for my loan payment that month. I did not notice this, but they reviewed my account and realized they did this and sent me a check in XX/XX/XXXX. Upon receiving this check, I deposited it at my bank on XX/XX/XXXX where it seemingly went through. A couple of days later, I got the money retracted from my account because the company authorized a stop on the check. They claim that the stop was issued because the name on the check was incorrect ; however, the name on the check was mine and the check should have been made out to me as they double charged me. In addition to this, the company claimed that I am late for my last payment which does not make sense because I have automatic payment on which takes from my account and has for over a year and a half now. The company said that they were going to put my account on review to see if they can fix the issue. The company has promised to call me back within the day. I am currently waiting for that call but honestly do not expect them to get back to me in a reasonable time. This is not however the only issue that I have had. My account is cosigned by my father ( who cosigned for all of his children ). A couple of months ago one of my payments did not come out of my account but somehow came out of my sisters bank account. Now my account with XXXX is completely separate from my sisters and should not have any of the information shared. This issue was eventually fixed after my sister spent hours on the phone with the company. After they fixed that they then proceeded to take the money out of my brothers bank account the next month who had already paid off the entirety of his loan and did not owe the company anymore. The customer service for this company is ridiculous and they constantly believe that they are right even if they are taking money from the wrong accounts and essentially stealing it. Stay away from this company if you have the option.

In XXXX of XXXX, the MEFA student loans associated with my wifes XX/XX/XXXX education of which I am a consigner were purchased by XXXX XXXX XXXX. We immediately had issues with receiving the correct balance or amount due, nor could they XX/XX/XXXX ) explain why I was receiving late payments for loans not associated to my account number. This situation continued for the better part of 6 months when I finally was able to set up autopayments associated to the multiple accounts. Unfortunately, and what turned out to be unlawfully XXXX reported to the credit bureaus that I was late on payments an excessive number of times. I was never provided an answer as to why and was met with silence when asked for an explanation. Fast forward to XXXX of XXXX, the Covid crisis hits and my wife ( now a practicing XXXX XXXX is eligible for temporary deferment for the above-mentioned loans. We followed the proper procedure to defer and were assured by XXXX our account would remain in good standing. In XXXX, I receive yet another notification of XXXX plus days non-payment for a second account number. Countless hours on the phone with XXXX determined that when the data was migrated to their system in XXXX of XXXX my social security number had been miss keyed by one digit on several of the loans, thus creating another me with a different social security number and a second loan number. XXXX representatives openly acknowledged their error and agreed that this was why I was inconsistent information each time I called. Following countless apologies and open admission of their error the issue was escalated to the XXXX collection team who were instructed to reverse the false entries in my credit report. They did not and refused to do so with no coherent explanation. Attached are detailed extemporaneous notes to capture in detail my years long interactions with XXXX. These notes clearly capture a level of incompetence and wanting negligence by XXXX that should be considered criminal.

I was filing my taxes in late XX/XX/XXXX and needed to know what student loan interest I paid for XX/XX/XXXX. On the XXXX XXXX XXXX website, it alerted me that my tax information was available. When I clicked on that, it told me it would actually be available in late XX/XX/XXXX. I called XXXX and they informed me that only my father, the primary borrower had access to this information. My father does not know his login or account information, so he could not access this information. After another call to XXXX, I learned they would be mailing the 1098-E form. My father received the 1098-E form, and the student loan interest paid is listed as one total number. My father is the primary borrower for myself and my brother, and there was no way to see what interest was paid for each individual loan. I tried to look at the payment history for XX/XX/XXXX so that I could manually add up the interest Ive paid, but the only history they give is the last payment received for each loan. I called XXXX again today, on XX/XX/XXXX, and they confirmed that the 1098-E is not itemized. They also confirmed that I have no access to payment history, and that I have to request that payment history be sent by mail. The payment history will be arriving by mail in 7-10 business days. My student loans were sold to XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX by XXXX XXXX, so my father received a 1098-E from XXXX as well. This 1098-E has itemized information for student loan interest paid with the loan number. The XXXX website also does not list the official number for each loan, they just number them 1 or 2, so I cant even see what loans they are referring to. This lack of information available is frustrating and should be corrected. My other loan provider, XXXX, gave me access to the 1098-E, and also has a full payment history detailing what payments went to principal and interest. This is not my first issue with XXXX or their website interface.

Today 's date is XX/XX/2018. On XX/XX/2018, we ( the student, XXXX XXXX ) and myself, as co-signer ( XXXX XXXX ) requested documentation that one of XXXX 's loans be shown as current. XXXX XXXX XXXX, the loan processing company, asked for proof that XXXX made a XX/XX/XXXX payment, which XXXX does not reflect. They show an XX/XX/XXXX payment for the XXXX bill, but they applied the most recent XX/XX/XXXX payment to the XXXX bill because they did not record the XXXX payment that XXXX made. XXXX took a screen shot of her XXXX 's bank statement for the selected transactions on XX/XX/2018. It displays the correct amount ( actually two payments ) debited for 'XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX. ' We faxed that over to the number XXXX provided. We were told it would be as many as 3 business days to get the adjustment made. I called back after 3 days and they moved the goal posts. It was now going to be 7-10 business days. I asked to speak with a supervisor, who sent an email to the XXXX branch, asking that this be expedited. I called back and got another supervisor, XXXX ( XXXX ), who asked for a detailed statement reflecting payments made to XXXX from XX/XX/2018. Instead we got a textual breakdown. Again, XXXX 's payment in XXXX, proof of which we faxed over is still missing in their records. We are not allowed to speak directly to anyone in XXXX, and I have to wait another 24 hours to speak with XXXX 's manager. Delays in their escalation process are painfully slow. And I think it is purposeful. Perhaps we should not have pointed out that we are trying to consolidate XXXX 's student loans and refinance with another lender, XXXX XXXX XXXX. We are on the clock to get the paperwork completed. Currently everything is approved except for the letter from XXXX showing that the loan payments are brought current.

My complaint about ACS began when I initially attempted to come up a way to temporarily postpone my payments due to lack of flexible options my loan servicer provided coupled with my financial hardship that I was currently going through at the time. There was an agreement that was reached in which we decided on a modified repayment plan. This meant that for the first 6 months I would have 0 $ payments and then incremental payments for the next two years. Essentially I was paying a percentage of what I owed which was working. However, in order for this payment plan to begin, I needed to set up autopayments which ACS had no problem doing. So I went ahead and began autopayments as usual assuming that in 6 months, my payments would begin to go through as expected. ACS failed to notify me that the autopayments were no longer going through which caused my payments to be delinquent for the 10 months before realizing it. I asked ACS why this happened and how come no one notified me of this change. ACS did not have an answer. I found out that there was a change in legislation that prevented me, being the cosigner on the loan, to make autopayments. If this were the case, why did ACS let me go so long without calling or notifying me of this error. As a result of this mishap, My credit is ruined and ACS refuses to take the 10 delinquent payments off of my account because of THEIR error. When looking at my payment history, you can see the time from when the modified payment plan started and when the phone calls were made to inquire about this issue. ACS will also not give me any more information regarding this including dates ( not viewable on the web ) and other supporting documentation. I am looking to have these 10 payments removed from my credit history with the credit bureaus.

We have 8 student loans with MEFA for my XXXX daughters. We have always had issues from the start about being late, behind or in default of our loans even though we have been paying the on time, and in most cases more than the minimum. MEFA sets up multiple loans for one person and expects separate payment on each and every one separately. That was never explained when we opened the loans and all the money we were mailing in was going to one account and none to the others under the same umbrella loan #. MEFA then sold our account to XXXX and then to XXXX and now to XXXX. Each time, the loan numbers were changed and the auto payments that my daughters were making were now going to a generic loan where they used the funds to first pay all interest and then spread payments randomly across all loans even though the payments were coming from separate bank accounts and going to specific accounts to help pay down the principle. We contacted MEFA, XXXX, XXXX and now XXXX and this continues to happen to a point where my daughters are not able to keep up with all the changes and are constantly told their loans are delinquent, in default and are being sent to a collection agency, even though they are automatically paying on time and over the amount required. It is criminal how these loan servicing companies are managing over {$310000.00} of my daughters college debt and ruining my daughters ' credit rating. There is no one to escalate too who can address these recurring issues and no state board or legal entity to oversee these firms. MEFA is pillaging and plundering our children with loan shark terms and rates ( 7.9 % ). It is truly criminal how irresponsible MEFA and the loan servicing companies are with our youths future.

This compliant is being filed against ACS Education Services ( ACS ). My private student loans ( XXXX loans serviced by ACS ) were recently consolidated and refinanced with a new lender ( XXXX XXXX serviced by XXXX ). Funds were transferred by XXXX to payoff the loan on XXXX/XXXX/2015. Due to the time involved in the application process, the amount of the payment by my new lender exceeded the loan balance with ACS in the amount of {$630.00} XXXX XXXX used the payoff balance as of the time of my application, which did not account for recent payments ). Following the payment, ACS deducted an additional {$560.00} from my bank account - apparently they had not yet cancelled the auto debit in spite of the loan having been paid off in full. Thus, my loans were overpayed by a total of {$1200.00}. I called to discuss the overpayments with ACS. On XXXX separate occasions I was told that funds would be returned to either me or the new lender ( and applied to the principal balance ), and that the process would take a total of XXXX days. It has now been XXXX days, and the {$1200.00} has not yet been returned. I contacted ACS today XXXX XXXX/XXXX/2015 XXXX for a third time requesting a status update. As of today I was told that they need to issue a new request to the department that handles payments/reimbursements, and that the process will take another 30 days - I have already waited XXXX days, much longer than the promised XXXX. During this period I have been out of pocket the {$560.00} that was sent to ACS ( and am still expected to make payments on time to my new lender ), and what 's more, my newly consolidated loans are incurring additional interest due to the added {$630.00} in principal on the account.

I was accepted to start on a Modified Payment Plan in XXXX XXXX. Originally paying {$730.00} per month, I agreed to pay {$190.00} per month ( for 6 months ) with XXXX on this new payment plan. I was told by MULTIPLE representatives that they had deleted my bank account information and would not be automatically withdrawing. On XXXX/XXXX/XXXX, they withdrew the {$730.00} from my account. This put me behind for months of bills and I had to pay for some of my monthly bills on my credit card. After paying for my car insurance that month on my credit card, I was charged an additional {$15.00} for using a credit card in which I am still waiting for XXXX to refund. After a month of constant obstacles, I was finally refunded. XXXX XXXX XXXX, I receive a call from a representative saying their system is going to be withdrawing an additional {$110.00} that could n't be adjusted internally within the company -- so they were just giving me a heads up. They said that they would be monitoring my account personally from month to month so that this would not happen again. They told me I had to scan a copy of my bank statements to show that the additional charges were successfully withdrawn from my account and that I had to send an email stating I would not contest charges with my bank. They stated that they would expedite the refund. I sent them the documentations on XXXX XXXX, XXXX and still have not received my refund. I called the supervisor I had been in contact with and asked for her supervisor, left a voicemail for her on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX, was told I would receive a call back within 24-48 hours but never did. XXXX XXXX, XXXX they again withdraw ANOTHER {$110.00} from my bank account without my consent.

I am a co-borrower on a private MEFA ( Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority ) loan. The primary borrower, my parent, defaulted on this loan and while I understand I am fully responsible for paying back the loan, I was NEVER warned that this loan was going into default. I never received notice, by phone or by mail, about this default status nor was I given the opportunity to make payments or take responsibility. My credit has now been absolutely destroyed by this. I pay all of my other bills, loans, and other debt in a timely manner and on time - this can be proven by the other items on my credit report. This loan alone has now been allowed to completely ruin my financial future. I went for years without even knowing about this defaulted loan, and I only found out about it when I tried to apply for a mortgage and it came up on my credit report. I had absolutely no previous knowledge of the status. I called the collection agency that my loan has been assigned to, and I tried to work with them but I can not afford to pay the total, especially given the cumulative interest that this has accrued. The primary borrower is making payments as well, so I am afraid of tarnishing their payment agreement. I have no good solution to this problem and do not see any way to otherwise help my credit. This will likely haunt me forever. I 've called multiple times and MEFA is unwilling to work with me at all. I have spoken to various representatives who have promised to see what they can do and none of them have ever called me back.

MEFA XXXX harassment and threats. We get multiple mailings and calls harassing us that our loans are " in default, '' even though I have paid in advance and have automatic bill payments sent at the same time every month ( not auto withdrawal ). When we set up the loan ( s ), we were never told that every semester there is a whole new loan and account assigned to each student so I had NO IDEA that my monthly payments were going to a non-early repayment account vs. the monthly payment account. 1 year after trying to resolve this, it 's still an outstanding issue that MEFA/XXXX says is putting ALL my accounts in arrears and will be sent to a credit agency. Recently, I was laid off and we called to adjust the terms of an in school payment plan and they said we needed to fill out a slew of paperwork, which we did. They then came back and said we were not only in default, but that we were now {$900.00} in arrears after only 1 month. They said that THEY had n't processed their paperwork but that we were still responsible for paying in interim. This is after we called to say I had been laid off and need to modify payments! 4 months have gone by and THEY have still NOT resolved this! This company borders on illegal and threatening behavior that I feel needs to be investigated and monitored for illegal practices and federal and state action should be put in place to force them to change their practices.

I want to preface this complaint with I'm a XXXX XXXX, so I do understand the need of guidelines in which to approve and deny loans. I currently have approximately {$43000.00} in outstanding private student loans, these are JUST in my name, no co-borrower. I pay $ XXXX monthly for these, as my average interest rate is 6.15 %. Recently, I tried to refinance these with the same company. MEFA is the overarching company, however they're serviced by XXXX. On Monday XX/XX/XXXX I was pre-approved to lower my interest rate to 3.80 % and lower my term two years, and keep approximately the same payment. I think it was a {$40.00} a month increase. I have as provided by MEFA a XXXX credit score, and good payment history for over a year with them ... ..as suggested by my score and I can provide proof of Both. I was denied due to my Debt to Income ratio, which I understand it a problem, I own a house, have a car, and student loans. HOWEVR, I'm refinancing with the SAME company and trying to lower my rate and make them easier to pay! I think this is SO SO SO wrong in SO many ways. I was basically told to get a co-signer or get lost or get more income. I'm not going to add a co-signer as no one should be on the hook for my college debt if I was to pass away. So, now they've basically ensured they will get more money from me for a greater length of time.

I made a previous complaint about a month ago ; I had a private loan transferred from XXXX to XXXX XXXX XXXX and was not informed of the change. While that previous complaint was resolved, I continue to have problems with the XXXX-XXXX transition. My issues are below : 1. While my private loan has finally transitioned over to XXXX and I am able to pay online, the monthly amount requested is totally different. XXXX extracted from me {$180.00} per month for my private loan, most of which was principal. XXXX is requesting {$86.00} ( See attached images of monthly loan payment ). Why is this amount different? How much of this is interest, and how much is principal? Since the terms of my loan are unchanged and I am not ( nor have I ever been ) on a payment plan, I expect to pay the standard interest rate and principal per month. 2. My public loan that was previously being serviced by XXXX has now disappeared without a trace ( see XXXX documentation from XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX ). I have not been notified by XXXX of this change. The loan is not in my new XXXX queue, and when I called XXXX, they told me that this loan ( of approximately {$9800.00} ) is not being transitioned to them. Where did it go, and how may I pay it? MEFA will not respond to my queries about where my second loan went or why my payment rate has changed.

MEFA loans and XXXX mailed me four physical letters ( I have four open accounts with them ) dated XX/XX/XXXX. These laters stated information about my repayments such as the payment options, estimated monthly payments, and when my first payment due date would be. It was stated in writing that my monthly payments were to begin on XX/XX/XXXX. Recently, XXXX XXXX XXXX acquired XXXX and sent me four new physical letters that now claim my account is 60 days overdue and has now been sent to a collection specialist. When I reached out to them about this issue I was told that they have " no idea why MEFA would send me anything about payment options when it is not even them who I am repaying '' but that it was also not them who sent the letter. I was told to call MEFA so that they could explain it to me as I " just was n't listening '' to what the XXXX specialist was saying. The " specialist '' I spoke with refused to believe that MEFA would send me a letter even though the new letters from XXXX are also stamped with MEFA in the letterhead. I am now aggravated that I have been preparing to begin making payments in XX/XX/XXXX only to find out that I owe thousands more for past due payments. Even more so, XXXX refuses to even hear me out on the situation or help me come up with a plan so I can reasonably pay back my loans.

When I was an XXXX student I was given a student loan from MEFA, as I lived in Massachusetts at the time. My loan ultimately ended up being serviced by XXXX in Pennsylvania. I am not sure who selected this option, but when the loan was approved for me, the repayment option selected had me start paying my loan back while in school and without the option of forebearance. In the fall of 2018 I ran into a temporary financial hardship. I applied for forbearance for my MEFA account AND another loan being serviced by XXXX. I got a letter saying my forbearance request was approved, with my account # on the letter, leading me to believe BOTH my loans serviced by XXXX were approved for forbearance. Thus, I did not make payments on these loans for 3 or 4 months. I then learned that my MEFA loan was never put into forbearance and my credit history has been negatively affected by these missed payment. I have been trying for months now to have my MEFA loan put into forbearance, for even just 3-4 months, so that I can pay back the past due balance, but to no avail. I am really struggling here and believe MEFA/XXXX should be penalized. This is not right. I even tried consolidating these private loans with my federal loans, per the option on the XXXX website, but was not able to, despite their site saying I could.

To Whom it may concern - I decided to refinance my private student loans that had previously been serviced by XXXX to a lower fixed rate loan underwritten by MEFA/ serviced by XXXX . MEFA accepted my loan application and disbursed funds on XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX did not receive the payoff ( via Snail Mail ) until XX/XX/XXXX. Both XXXX and MEFA are charging me interest on the same principal balance from the dates of XX/XX/2019 through XX/XX/2019. I do NOT see how it is legal/ possible for both companies to claim ownership to the underwritten principal. XXXX confirmed that they owned the loans until the XXXX and charged me accrued interest from XX/XX/19 through and including XX/XX/19. I am filing this complaint towards MEFA - XXXX XXXX ( MEFA ) sent me a separate copy of the promissory note that I did NOT receive at the time of refinancing stipulating that MEFA will charge interest beginning on disbursement date. They did not own the asset from XX/XX/19 - XX/XX/19 and began ownership on XX/XX/19. NOWHERE in the original loan refinancing agreement stipulated any of this. Additionally I notified MEFA that they were refinancing the incorrect amount prior to the loan disbursement/ final refinancing approval .... they insisted they could not lower the amount ( XXXX! )

This is a follow-up complaint to Case number : XXXX. All preceding information can be drawn from the former case file. As verbally agreed upon with MEFA/XXXX, I began making quarter payments while the formal paperwork for the quarter payment forbearance was being processed. During this time, I received no fewer than six harassing phone calls to my personal cell phone, demanding immediate payment of the full value of the monthly payments, despite clear verbal instructions to cease phone communication, in clear violation of my rights as a lendee. Approximately 1.5 months after the quarter payment paperwork was filed ( date of XXXX XXXX, 2016 ), I received another phone call from MEFA/XXXX, again demanding immediate payment of the remaining balance, minus the quarter payments that I had already been making. This time, however, they informed me that they had rejected my forbearance application because they had changed the terms of the agreement IN THE TIME BETWEEN WHEN THEY RECEIVED THE PAPERWORK AND WHEN IT WAS PROCESSED without notifying me of the change until after it was rejected. Thus, they had outright denied the application on technical grounds. All of this clearly violates my rights to clear and fair lending as a student borrower.

Throughout the week of XX/XX/2018, I placed multiple calls to XXXX to try to determine what loan numbers linked accurately to the XXXX account numbers. I spoke with XXXX # XXXX, XXXX # XXXX, XXXX # XXXX, XXXX # XXXX, XXXX, # XXXX and XXXX # XXXX. I received conflicting information on multiple calls as to which loans associated with which name and account number. This transfer has been extremely difficult from a consumers perspective when customer service can not accurately assist in locating payment or relay the correct information. After calling XXXX on XX/XX/2018 they informed me that they are no longer forwarding payments to XXXX and will not forward the XXXX and XXXX payments we made to XXXX. Additionally they can not provide information as to when they will refund our monies. In good faith we paid the past due payments to XXXX on XX/XX/2018 making duplicate payments for XXXX and XXXX. Furthermore, MEFA continues to not credit my account after I have paid. This is ridiculous. I'm in the process of trying to buy a house and this is killing my credit. I'm not sure if they are just completely incompetent or trying to steal my money. I should have to call them every month to help them find the money I paid them.

After a Leave of Absence ( LoA ) for one semester I am in the process of being re-enrolled for the Summer and am already enrolled for the Fall semester. For some reason XXXX, my loan service through MEFA, is trying to get me to start paying my student loans starting this summer. This is despite the fact that I still have about two more years of school left to complete. I have contacted XXXX and attempted to correct this numerous times but no progress has been made. I had my registrar at my college fax in my enrollment history including next Fall, but I received a letter ( from MEFA ) saying that my loan deferment was declined, supposedly because the documents they received were " illegible ''. XXXX has said that I need to be in classes again by XXXX in order for my loan payments to be deferred until after I graduate again. This is ridiculous because the Fall semester at my school starts a week or so after XXXX 's deadline. I am now waiting to get approved for summer enrollment which they say will enable me to defer payments, however XXXX has refused to give me any slack while I'm awaiting the approval and if the approval from my school comes too late I have to start repayments and I am totally XXXX.

XXXX is the most recent loan servicer for our accounts ( 5 ) and took over in XX/XX/XXXX. Prior to that, since XXXX, we were serviced by XXXX, XXXX and XXXX. We have been making on time repayments with no problems until XXXX assumed the liability. We have bank statement proof that the payments are being made. XXXX is misapplying the funds and terrorizing me with threats of ruining my credit ... every month. They do not listen. Eventually they acknowledge the debt is current via email and the very next day the collection calls begin again. The problem is THEIR mismanagement of the payments being applied to the accounts. It was never a problem with the prior loan servicing companies. I can not tolerate being threatened every month by this hostile and overly aggressive company when I have BANK STATEMENT PROOF the accounts are being paid as agreed. I have had my student loan for 5 years. I had deferred and reduced payments ( due to income ) for the first few years but have been paying the full amount for the past three years. I am building a plan to make extra payments to pay the loan off faster, as part of the planning I called the servicer to get a payment schedule / amortization schedule. They are unable / unwilling to provide this, they sent a letter saying I have approximately 108 payments left. There was no information about interest calculations etc. I know the balance, rates etc and can calculate a simple interest payment but wanted to see their calculation to both make sure my calculations were correct and to make sure I 'm not being taken advantage of by a company I do n't trust. I 'm astonished that they wo n't provide the most basic repayment schedule. I have worked in lending and written loan notes for years and have always provided a payment schedule. I got this loan for a XXXX and it 's one more reminder that I made a bad decision. It makes me suspect I 'm being taken advantage of in the repayment process.

I received a call on XX/XX/XXXX from XXXX XXXX XXXX telling me that my loan was delinquent. I logged into my account and noticed I made a payment for {$260.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. My account showed a past due of {$56.00} ( see attachment ), however the representative on the phone told me my past due balance was {$72.00}. I called back to inquire why it was not showing my past due balance as the correct amount, explaining that if I went by what the website was saying and made the payment for what was past due, I would still be delinquent. This inaccurate display of balances due was the reason the XX/XX/XXXX payment was not for the full amount, as I always pay the balance in full by selecting what is due. I spoke with customer service for XXXX XXXX XXXX ( on the line for over 35 minutes ) and I was told that there was an issue with their billing. I have four loans and only three loans were showing up on my bill ; the fourth was showing up on a different bill. They told me that they are working on resolving the issue. They also told me that I will not be negatively credit reported.

I submitted a payment to XXXX to finish my student loan completely. XXXX claimed to have processed that payment, but they did not. I received an email from XXXX on XXXX stating that XXXX Dear XXXX XXXX, XXXX We 're sending this email to let you know that today we processed your student XXXX loan payment ( s ) of {$9500.00}. Yet, when I look at my bank account history and also at payment history in my XXXX account, there is no record of the payment made. XXXX continues to have me enrolled in automatic monthly payments at a reduced rate and continues to collect interest from me, despite its claims that it processed my payment. Furthermore, I received NO notification that the payment was not actually processed, so I was led to believe by XXXX that my contract with them was complete. Had I not followed up on my own, I would not have found out I still owe the company. Thank you for your attention and help in this issue.

This loan was paid for in full with a check from XXXX XXXX attached in the amount of {$13000.00} to MEFA on XX/XX/XXXX. However, when trying to find a record with the loan company, we have been told numerous times that there is no record of it being paid in full and because of that, it had been reported to a national debt recovery service. I have student loans with XXXX, I refinanced them through MEFA in XXXX of 2020. MEFA never paid off XXXX. Now MEFA/XXXX are demanding payment and charging me interest for student loans they never paid off. They did not pay off the loans that I was refinancing. My student loans instantly went from XXXX to XXXX and are being reported on my credit report. This is 100 % fraud on MEFA/XXXX. They refused to work with me and are now demanding payment for loans that are invalid since they did not payoff the loan that was being refinanced. I contacted MEFA at XXXX multiple times about this and they say there is nothing I can do and I am responsible for paying them. So now, after attempting to refinance I am still responsible for paying the original loans to XXXX while MEFA is also demanding payment. I am also accruing interest now on invalid student loans and is about to be marked as delinquent to an invalid loan which is theft.

I am the co-signer on my son 's student loan from XXXX. I was out of work for a couple months and fell behind on the repayment. I have since contacted them almost 3 months ago and told them of my situation and that i was going to start making payments again and i would add an additional {$50.00} per month to go towards the past due which at the time was about {$1200.00}. I have made 2 regular monthly payments on time with an additional {$50.00} and i still get harassing phone calls from them almost daily. I feel that this is harassment. I have told the person calling that it is harassment and they said they have a contract with XXXX and they have to call even if your account is being paid by a payment arrangement as agreed upon because it is still past due. I have been in the XXXX and XXXX business for over 18 years and even I can see that this is harassment. I really feel that they need to be investigated for harassment.

I filed a complaint against MEFA last month because they refused to lower my monthly payment even though I was let from my job. Late XX/XX/XXXX, someone contacted me about getting a lower payment. I was not able to reply right away because I caught the flu and I had to gather the necessary documents. I sent in my application on the XX/XX/XXXX. On the XX/XX/XXXX, the Consumer Advocate got back to me and asked for something I didn't have and couldnt get. He did not respond to that email, so i started check in every day and still no response. Today, I finally got a response from him asking again for the things I tried to get and did not have and I had to explain again that I did not have what he was asking for. This has been a frustrating process with a uncommunicative consumer advocate. MEFA promised they would help but have been so difficult to work with. I will not be able to pay my rent this month now.

I have an XXXX degree from XXXX College. During my time there, I applied for, and received, private student loans from XXXX/MEFA ( Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority ). However, when I contacted XXXX/MEFA, they informed me that my loans could not be deferred, despite being placed in an in-school status. They will not allow any kind of forbearance or deferral, despite my ongoing education and lack of income. They also will not renegotiate the terms of the loans. This loan corporation 's deceptive practices placed me in this situation.

If you need to borrow a loan to pay for college, take advantage of the many benefits of MEFA Loans, including : Fixed interest rates starting at 3.95 % ( APR* 3.957.30 % ) No origination or application fee Multiple repayment options An easy, online application Visit our website to learn the important details and to apply. When I applied I was offered 4.4 % and my credit score is XXXX with XXXX and XXXX with FICO. If I do not qualify for the low low rate, who does? They should have to disclose that applicants with a credit rating of 845 or higher receives the lowest rate or something like that. I think this is a classic bait and switch.

Two payments were made, the first on XX/XX/XXXX for XXXX confirmation code XXXX. The second was made XX/XX/XXXX also for XXXX confirmation code XXXX. Despite these payments which would have brought my amount due to 0, I continue to receive emails and regular mail letters stating I am severely overdue. On Tuesday XX/XX/XXXX an XXXX XXXX XXXX rep told me the issue stemmed from the payments being made " during a transition '' and the issue would be resolved and the payments applied. Today a gentleman told me my loan has not " fully converted '' to their company and that he wasn't sure why. The payments were both deducted from my bank account but seem to be lost in limbo. My primary concern is if the 2 payments take too long to apply and the delinquency is reported to credit bureaus, considering they've now been lost for 20 days.

Since his income is drastically reduced since his XXXX, and we are together, this does not seem to be fair. If they had told us that it would revert to me I wouldnt have bothered with 8-9 months of paperwork and aggravation. According to their website, the current policy is to remove loan completely. They are telling us that the policy when we took the loan didnt state that. I think this is unfair and want to know if I have any recourse from this loan

XXXX XXXX, a large loan servicer, no longer has an easy way to find the loan payoff amount. They changed their website and neglected to implement a solution that is easy for a customer to find. I've spend more than an hour looking. I've also followed up by sending emails to their customer helpline. As a regulator, I hope you'll find it concerning that a loan servicer is making it difficult for consumers to payoff their loans in full in order for them to continue to accrue interest. Whether purposeful or not, I believe action should be taken as this is not the first time the company is doing shady things. Just last month New York sued XXXX, the organization that operates XXXX, over wrongly denying loan forgiveness to public servants.
