Hi, I am writing this letter/notice of complaint because I feel that there are companies and agencies that are falsely impersonating U.S. Government agencies and personnel and as a result are and have fraudulently taken advantage of U.S. citizens such as myself. On XX/XX/XXXX, I was on the world wide web just browsing when I saw a Student Loan Relief Program ad and it was mentioning having a program that could assist people with consolidating and possibly eliminating Student Loan debt. The ad had some sort of 800 number to call to inquire and see if you could qualify. Being I was suffering tremendously XXXX from coping with medical and student loan debt along with other problems, I was extremely curious to learn and discover if I could get any relief with my student loan debt so I called the number the ad listed and spoke to a gentleman whom said his name was XXXX XXXX. Over the course of about 30 mins, XXXX XXXX had asked me all sorts of questions such as my date of birth, social security number, income information, company and field information, household size and more. XXXX told me that based off my income and occupation of working for an agency that services the general public, I met the qualifications for the Student Loan Relief Program. He told me that to sign up for and to take advantage of the program, he would have to run a credit check on me to see if the program would finance me for what they called a service fee for the program but said that all I would have to pay would be {$39.00} a month for 2 years and gave the notion and promise that my student loans would be eliminated. XXXX then said that he would need to send me some documents via email for me to sign along with me sending copies of my paystubs for the past 30 days and I did so. When the email came to my email inbox, I noticed that it was from a two other and separate entities ( companies ) but all documents pointed one another back to the Student Loan Relief Department which to my ignorance and understanding was all the Federal Government. These two companies were the Manhattan Beach Venture LLC, and XXXX XXXX XXXX. Per XXXX XXXX, they were the company to run my credit for a request authorization and added and opened a line of credit in my name and account for the {$1300.00} that they stated they paid to Manhattan Beach Venture LLC to finance me for the program for services. Please note and be advised that to this very day, I have never been able to speak to anyone at Manhattan Beach Venture to inquire about my case and account. XXXX XXXX XXXX, however, are the company and agency whom are to this present day of XX/XX/XXXX, are auto debiting {$39.00} from my checking account. Over the course of 2 years, I have called XXXX XXXX to inquire about the validity and justification of their program and all I get is a bounce around and shift of responsibility back to Manhattan Beach Venture and the Student Loan Relied Department. Then about a year ago or maybe more, I began to receive emails from a company called XXXX XXXX whom XXXX XXXX has added to yet another 3rd party ordeal. Representatives from XXXX XXXX say that they hired XXXX XXXX to come in and handle the document preps for customers whom when recertifications are due. Once introduced to XXXX XXXX about a year ago, that is when I started getting a gut feeling that something was not right and began to feel that my identity, banking information and more was compromised and that I being taken advantage of so I immediately called into the Federal Student Loan contact line to inquire about my loan status. I was then brought to the awareness that what XXXX XXXX and Manhattan Beach were doing was simply and solely placing my student loan accounts and payments on a deferment plan. My student loan debt amounts have not decreased at all and are very much still present. Just yesterday XX/XX/XXXX I called XXXX XXXX XXXX to inquire about the length of time I had left before they would seize from auto-debiting my bank account and was told I still had over 18 months left to pay the {$39.00}. I then became utterly and extremely perplexed about what exactly it was that this company was actually doing for me versus to me so I asked for justification and proof and was told I would be mailed the documents showing and proving that XXXX XXXX did indeed pay Manhattan Beach Ventures LLC a total of {$1300.00} however I have learned that in situations like this, there is and will never be an actual file that would be provided to me to prove that XXXX XXXX paid that amount of money on my behalf and are rightly justified in them debiting funds from me. All the while, I would be paying them nearly 5 years and would still have the student loan debt that I began with only the amounts will increase due to the forbearance and interests. Since having all these gut feelings and proof that someone is taking advantage of me by way of government fraud, I have searched the web and the XXXX XXXX XXXX to look up information and complaints against the Manhattan Beach Venture LLC and XXXX XXXX XXXX and to my surprise many others have the same story as I do and feel compromised and scammed.

On XX/XX/XXXX ; I spoke with XXXX XXXX regarding my desire to apply for loan forgiveness. After speaking with XXXX XXXX, I signed a contract that stated that I would pay a third party company $ XXXX/month for the next three years and make 120 payments of {$15.00} to have the remainder of my student loans forgiven. I was told that I would receive notification from XXXX that my loans were paid in full and that the subsequent payments would be sent to the third party as stated in the contract. Within the next few weeks, I had not heard from XXXX regarding this transaction. When I reviewed my account, there was NO record of such as transaction, however, my credit report did reflect that an inquiry was put through. On XX/XX/XXXX ; I sent a message to XXXX XXXX stating these facts and that since the proper documentation was never received I wished to cancel the contract and pursue things on my own. When I received notification that my bank account would be charged the first payment of {$49.00} I contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX and explain that I sent an email to cancel this account. I was informed by them that they were just the debt collector and that I needed to speak with someone from the XXXX XXXX. When I sent an email to XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) informing them that wish to cancel my account and why, I received a call from someone in their customer service department. When I spoke to the gentleman I informed him that I tried to contact XXXX XXXX and never received a response back and that I had done the leg work to get approved for loan forgiveness. I informed him that according XXXX, there was NO record of documentation received from his company regarding any of the things mentioned by XXXX XXXX. At that time he told me that he did n't care what XXXX said because their goal is to just get my money. He also stated that the Department of Education has some cases against them because of what they are doing. The bottom line was that his company provided me with a service and now I 'm trying to get out of paying them for said services. When I stated that I sent an email to XXXX XXXX, he stated that there was no record and that therefore I must abide by the guidelines of the contract. I told him that I should not be penalized for this oversight. He stated that the fault did n't fall on the company, which I highly disagreed with. After a VERY heated discussion I asked him for the amount of the penalty to cancel the contract and he threw out an amount of {$1300.00}. I told him that was fine and asked him for the number that I could contact to make the arrangements. The number he gave me was for XXXX XXXX XXXX. At that time the young lady remember speaking to me days before and stated that she could not cancel my account because they are just the debt collector for that company. At that time, she provided me with a different phone number. When I called this number, I spoke with someone named XXXX. She was able to see in the records where I spoke with the other guy and said that what he stated was true. She then mentioned that the person I originally spoke with was no longer with the company. In my experience, companies have messages forwarded to other individuals when someone leaves the company to avoid missing any pertinent information. She said that a service was provided on my behalf and completed on XX/XX/XXXX. She stated that the company had made the steps to get my loans consolidated and me placed on a repayment plan based on my income and family size. Once I explained to her that my loans were already consolidated and that I was currently on an income based repayment plan ( IBRP ) she seemed to see what my dispute was concerning. I informed her that the only thing I really needed done was getting assistance with being approved for actual loan forgiveness, which I found out can only be done if you or the company you work for me the requirements. This was something that was accomplished by my submission of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program ( PSLFP ) application. I asked her what service did the company provide me. She never gave me an answer. She did, however, state that she would escalate the situation up to her manager and would get back to me in a few days with a response. A few days passed and I receive a phone call from XXXX stating that according to her manager, I would have to abide by the contract because a service was provided on my behalf and completed. Again, my question is what service was provided?!? 1 ) The company did n't get my loans consolidated because that was done back in XXXX. 2 ) The company did n't get me on an IBRP because I have been on one since XXXX. 3 ) The company did n't get me qualified for the PSLFP because that is based on information I submitted regarding my employer. WHAT SERVICE WAS PROVIDED TO ME?!? To date, they have already deducted one payment of {$49.00} from my account.

I have been a victim of a scam by multiple companies, starting with Manhattan Beach Venture , LLC " Student Loan Relief Department. '' The following company harassed me via email and telephone, after I googled " government student loan forgiveness '' in XX/XX/2015. The company disguised themselves as a department of the federal government by using the name " Student Loan Relief Department '' and a .us web domain. Under the false pretenses that this company is associated with the federal government, and my only option to enroll in the government 's student loan forgiveness program was through them, I was advised to " sign '' emailed documents. I also gave sensitive information to this company, including my paystubs, social security number, federal loan numbers, and credit reports. The said documents at the time did not clearly state that this company was in NO WAY associated with the federal government and that in fact, the " services '' they were providing are FREE services from the federal government. The company explained there would be a monthly cost to enroll in the government program, and that I was unable to pay the total upfront, but instead would have to enroll in their program for around {$39.00} dollars a month. They then went and hired a third party, XXXX, to collect the money I owe them as a " monthly credit plan '' of {$39.00} a month, stating that I was did not have the money to pay the total amount up front. The amount owed to XXXX is {$1300.00} in total, with a 24 % interest rate and {$20.00} " finance fee '' every month. As previously stated, these figures and interests rates were never discussed in the initial phone conversation with Student Loan Relief Department of Manhattan Ventures, LCC. In fact, if we are able to retrieve intital recorded phone conversations, one can verify that I asked if it was possible to pay the total up front instead of making monthly payments, in which she told me " no '' and " these payments are part of the program 's monthly services they provide. '' After reviewing all the documents, none of my " signatures '' are truly mine, and also none of the signatures on the document are dated. My " signature '' between the documents varies from a cursive unreadable scribble, to a computer generated manuscript name. The doucments they sent me were a simple " click here to sign '' with no detailed infomation provided. After doing more research online, I see that this company " Student Loan Relief Department '' of Manhattan Beach Venture , LLC, has also disguised themselves as " XXXX '' in the past, in order to take advantage of in-debt recent graduates. The general attorneys office has previously shut down similar companies and has asked for " cease and desist '' to any company using the Federal government 's seal in order to provide ( non-existent ) services to graduates in-debt. At this point, it is nearly impossible for me to pay off the amount I supposedly " owe '' to the company and it 's third party, unless I pay it completely in one payment. I have asked the companies to please terminate the contract under the circumstances that they have lied to me, disguising as a government agency and forcing me to enter into a credit plan. When I called XXXX to discusss this, the agent screamed at me and hung up on me, twice. It is obvious to me at this point, that this company is nothing but a complete scam. I have since enrolled in the Student Loan Forgiveness program through the legitimate federal government website at no cost. After filing the first complaint against XXXX, the company 's response was that I owe them the large amount for " wading through paperwork. '' This " wading through paperwork '' also does not exist and is done free of charge by the federal government. I am asking this company, and it 's third party, to terminate my contract immediately.

I fell victim to a student debt relief scam. I got a call on XXXX/XXXX/2016 by a company named Student Loan Relief Department ( XXXX XXXX, real co. name Manhattan Beach Venture , LLC, and spoke to a man named XXXX XXXX who told me new legislature passed by the Obama administration made me a candidate to decrease my monthly payment for a small one-time fee. He said my {$230000.00} outstanding balance with my loan servicer, XXXX XXXX, would be paid in full, and that my payments would be lowered to {$39.00} a month or so. I was sent a link to sign a form online, which would expire in a certain timeframe so I was pressured to sign it immediately. I then got a credit alert from a corporation called XXXX XXXX that said I owed {$1300.00}. When I tried logging into my XXXX XXXX account, my password did n't work. I assumed perhaps they had paid the outstanding balance and I no longer had an account, making Student Loan Relief my new loan servicer as I had been told. I tried calling XXXX repeatedly to clarify, in vain. He had said I could call him anytime. I left voicemails, never got a call back. XXXX XXXX charged me {$39.00}, which I thought was my monthly student loan payment. However, XXXX XXXX then charged me a sum for the month I had never heard of, {$59.00} or so. I finally called the customer service department at Student Loan Relief Department for clarification. I was told that, contrary to what XXXX XXXX told me, XXXX XXXX was still my loan servicer, my outstanding balance had not been paid in full as he suggested, and that {$59.00} was my new monthly payment with XXXX XXXX. I then called XXXX XXXX, and spoke at length with a security specialist named XXXX. He was very helpful and filed a complaint on my behalf. XXXX XXXX had requested my information to access my account with the XXXX, which I disclosed. Based on what we could see on my account, they had not only changed my password to login, but they had frankly falsified information. They listed my email address as XXXX I had never heard of, which means I personally was no longer receiving any communications from my loan servicer. XXXX informed me that, in order to lower my payment to {$59.00} a month, they renewed my income-based repayment plan by claiming I had XXXX children. I have XXXX children. They lowered my monthly payment by lying to the government. This new legislation in question was 6 years old, and I had been submitted my own income-based repayment forms annually since. When I asked him what my new interest rate would be, he did not answer directly. In addition to $ XXXX monthly that I owe to this new bank XXXX XXXX, with an outstanding balance of {$1300.00} as well as {$23.00} of accrued interest already. When I asked what the interest rate for this financing fee would be, XXXX did not give me a straight answer. Therefore, instead of helping me pay off my student debt, this company created a new debt with interest. I must have given them my credit card information because they had started to charge me $ XXXX monthly. I effectively got charged {$1300.00}, with interest, to have someone lie to the government and report I had XXXX children. Student Loan Relief Department and Manhattan Beach Venture LLC must be shut down. This is fraud. There is no new student debt relief legislation. I was misled and systematically lied to. I called Student Loan Relief Department at XXXX, spoke to supervisor XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX said all calls were recorded. I asked if I could obtain the recording of my initial call with XXXX XXXX, which was made sometime in XXXX 2016. She said this was not possible. After hearing I was upset at having been lied to and scammed, she literally hung up the phone on me. I can not handle any more debt. I am almost XXXX, single, overworked and burned out. Please help.

I have a student loan that surpassed {$100.00} and no way to pay it with the little money I make. I have always managed and dealt with my lender as far as filing forms, forbearance and whatever paperwork needed to be done. I wanted to pay my student loan and I 've heard about the Student Loan Relief program so on XX/XX/2016 I called this company because they have contacted me before via email, the company name THE STUDENT LOAN RELIEF DEPARTMENT. ( TSLRD ) I called TSLRD and XXXX XXXX gave me the information how they would help me lower my student loan debt, she said " Our company, TSLRD, works directly with the Department of Education and WE 'LL HELP YOU LOWER YOUR DEBT. XXXX XXXX said that in order to lower my debt I had to pay XXXX XXXX XXXX {$39.00} for 48 months, a total of {$1800.00} for them to handle my paper work, to lower my debt to a grand total of {$9.00}. She said it would take around 90 days to complete my paper work, but I needed to start my payments XX/XX/XXXX, and I needed to set a monthly direct payment from my bank, and so I did. Next we set to do and sign electronically all the paper work and information about my student loan and direct deposit. XXXX XXXX reassure me that my loan was going to be lowered to {$9.00} after I pay XXXX XXXX XXXX, {$1800.00} I had a family illness for a couple of months and did n't heard from TSLRD. Then I call them in XX/XX/XXXX, I wanted to find out how my was process going, I talked to a woman name XXXX and she said that my process has not been completed yet, because I have not giving them the password for my lender 's account, I went ahead and gave it to her, then my case was assign to another agent name Memory and she was supposed to call but she never call me so I called Memory, and she said that she would be working with me to try to lower my payments, that I needed to send her my pay stubs that I should give her till XX/XX/XXXX to do the work. I called Memory on XXXX, to find out how my process was going, she could n't recall my case or what she was supposed to work on, so I email her with all the questions again : WHY the Student Loan Relief Department had not finished my process, when THEY said it would take 90 days to go through ; I 've started XX/XX/XXXX, and here we arefour months later. WHY do I still owe my original lender? Andwhyam I paying monthly payments to some obscure entity that is not for mystudentloan? Next, on XX/XX/2028, Memory emailed me and said that she would rather talk to me on the phone. I called her next morning and placed the same questions I had in my email, why my original debt still with my original lender? who was her company? When was my account to be lower to {$9.00}? She did n't answer any of the questions just said that she got me a forbearance, and I told her I 've been dealing with my lender all these years I do n't need anyone to apply in my behalf I know how to deal with my lender. What I wanted her to answer was WHO AND WHEN WERE THERE GOING TO LOWER MY LOAN like XXXX XXXX had promised they would do. She said that she could n't tell me that and the only thing she could do was help me lower my payments, I said to her that THAT WAS NOT WHAT I SIGNED FOR and I would not be needing their services anymore because they have n't fulfilled what they have initially promise and that I was going to report them to the CFPB because that was a scam! Then she transferred me to a male representative and he told me that I had a contract and I have to pay it, and we argued, and then he tried to convince me to stay but I was furious to know that I have been scammed! It was a big lie. I 've been SCAMMED, PLAIN FRAUD!

In XX/XX/XXXX I contacted a student loan servicer to see if I could have my student loan debt forgiven. I was told that I did qualify and that I had to make a monthly payment of XXXX starting XX/XX/XXXX. In the original conversation I was told that I would be paying the third party company on a monthly basis for them to handle everything on my account. I was told that the only thing I needed to do was make sure I made my payments on time. On yesterday, XX/XX/XXXX, I decided to view my credit score on XXXX XXXX and realized that my score dropped one point. After looking further into it I discovered that my student loan debt was no longer a {$0.00} balance with a {$0.00} payment. I attempted to contact XXXX XXXX to get an understanding about what happened to my account. They did not answer so I called XXXX. When I spoke with the company they informed me that I was due for a recertification and they sent emails to my account in XX/XX/XXXX. I informed the person about my third party company who was supposed to be handling my account and told her that I did not know about the recertification. She informed me that several people have been scammed by these third party companies into paying for services that are not provided as promised. She told me the options that I had to make my account right and recertify myself. I did the recertification while on the phone with her to get my account back on track and I was advised to make a complaint with CFPB. Today, XX/XX/XXXX, I received a return call from XXXX XXXX during the call I explained the situation and asked for my services to be cancelled. I was told that they are just the finance company and can not cancel the services, I needed to contact XXXX XXXX XXXX. I called and asked for the services to be cancelled on my account and was told that they do not cancel services. I asked to speak with a Supervisor and he informed me that the original company that I signed up with Manhattan Beach Venture LLC, shut down and they took over my file. He stated that I only had 5 days to cancel the services. I explained to him that I never received any notification from them about my account being transferred or being up for recertification. He said that an email was sent in XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXXand it may have went to my spam. I asked if my account could be cancelled because the services that I am paying for have not been provided. He stated that I am paying the company for the initial services they provided and that they do n't have to do anything else on my account. I told him that I felt that I was mislead into signing up for the services because I was told that I 'd be paying for continued services for the next four years and since I was able to fix my account and recertify on my own through XXXX I did not want to continue paying XXXX for nothing. He again told me that they can not cancel my account and there was nothing he could do about it. I would like to have my case reviewed and my contract. I am getting a lawyer and I will pursue a lawsuit if necessary.

On XX/XX/XXXX I signed a digital contract with XXXX XXXX XXXX to pay them a specified amount ( $ XXXX/ month ) for a total financed amount of {$1300.00} over the course of 3 years for services rendered by The Student Loan Relief Department for student loan debt reconsolidation. After calling multiple numbers provided for different departments and emailing different individuals from The Student Loan Relief Department since XX/XX/XXXX I have not been able to reach anyone. Student Loan Relief Department : XXXX XXXX, Enrollment Advisor, XXXX, XXXXXXXXXXXX Student Loan Relief Department : XXXX XXXX, XXXXXXXXXXXX Student Loan Relief Department : XXXX XXXX, Quality Assurance Manager, XXXX, XXXXXXXXXXXX Student Loan Relief Department : XXXX XXXX, Client Services, XXXX, XXXXXXXXXXXX Student Loan Relief Department : XXXX XXXX, Enrollment Account Specialist, ( XXXX ) XXXX, XXXXXXXXXXXX One of the numbers that I was provided for The Student Loan Relief Department has since been changed to that of a department store. When I call the number on their website it will ring and then the call is ended. In XX/XX/XXXX I was alerted by my credit monitoring agency that my credit score had dropped a significant amount because I was not notified that my required repayment period had begun 90 days prior and I was never notified via telephone, e-mail or US mail, despite efforts to contact these companies prior to my credit score dropping. I contacted my original loan servicer, XXXX XXXX XXXX, at which time they notified me that Student Loan Relief Department changed all of my passwords and usernames for my profile which prevented me from accessing my account to get my repayment information for my loan. I was also granted a temporary forbearance because of above situation. I did not give them permission to access, nor changed my account with my original loan servicer, XXXX XXXX XXXX. I was finally able to get into contact with XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) at Student Advisors ( I believe this is a company that The Student Loan Relief Department is affiliated with or they also conduct business under this name ) on XX/XX/XXXX. I requested that my account be cancelled because the promised services were not rendered ( student loan debt consolidation & public service loan forgiveness document preparation ). At this time I was told that a manager would contact me. On XX/XX/XXXX I called XXXX XXXX direct line and I have not been able to contact him since. To date, I have paid The Student Loan Relief Departments financing company, XXXX XXXX XXXX {$190.00} for services that they are not providing. I have since removed my bank account information from XXXX XXXX website so that they can not debit any money. I know that this will eventually end in my credit score being affected yet again because of missed payments. I have not been provided with the documents that The Student Loan Relief Department provided to the Department of Education on my behalf so it is not included below.

I received a text from a colleague at work from facebook link about student loan forgiveness. I told her that it is a hoax. She stated it is legitimate. It says that Obama to forgive {$7.00} XXXX dollars of Student Loan debt. The number is XXXX. I called it the first time and a voice message said to call back, lines were busy. I called back and spoke with a XXXX XXXX at the Student Loan Relief Dept. Her number is XXXX. I gave her my personal information, address, phone number, ss #. XXXX stated that if I qualify my federal loans could be reduced. She asked where I worked, my income. She also asked if I had any children. I told her that I did not. She also asked if I help any of my family members. I said yes, when I have money. I will try and help out. I still told her that this sounds too good to be true. This is not legitimate. She said that they work with the Department of Education. I said how is that possible. This is not accurate. She proceeded to inform me that I qualify for the forgiveness loan and that my monthly payment would reduce to {$20.00} per month for 20 years and the balance would be forgiven. She also proceeded to say that there is a fee to be paid of {$1300.00} and in some cases the fee is {$1900.00}. XXXX had put me on hold for several minutes. I had a bad feeling. She returned stating that she need to get some water. I listened. Then she asked me that I would have to pay the fees. I continued on and he requested my bank card. I provided her the number and something felt not right. I searched this third party company. It is Manhattan Beach Venture , LLC in XXXX, California. There were horrible reviews about what they really do. They take advantage of people. I opened my account to see a {$.00} withdrawal from my bank account after she said that my first payment will start at the end of XXXX, 2016. I called my bank from my home phone while she was on my cell phone. I told the representative what was going on, I immediately asked her to cancel my bank card. She did and noted my account. I have a new card now. But XXXX still has my information. I also called the FBI and reported it. They took my information and provided me with the FTC 's number. That is why I want this to be investigated. I told XXXX that my social security number has been exposed after I signed these documents. Her reply states that it is only exposed on my document which did not make sense because she already had my social security number. She continued to say that she has helped alot of students with huge loans. She stated that if I did not believe her that I can contact her boss. His name is XXXX. His number is XXXX. I did not call the number.

Over a year, a company called Manhattan Beach Venture , LLC a loan consideration company reached out to me to help me with my student 's loan. As the process took place information was exchanged, and I wanted to reach back from them to see if I was approved. I never heard back from them. A few weeks later I heard from a different company called XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) reached out to me in regarding telling me that they were the ones who processed the consolidation and payment will start up in XXXX of 2016. I was afraid that Manhattan Beach Venture , LLC might have sold my information to this company. I asked them to provide a phone number for Manhattan Beach Venture since I have had a hard time reaching them two days after speaking to them. The number XXXX XXXX offered was a nonworking number. I also told them that I did n't reconsolidation with them and was still waiting to hear back from Manhattan Beach about my application. I told them that I spoke with Manhattan Beach and I did n't know why a different company was reaching out to me for future payment. For a service that I did n't yet agree to pay for yet. I did n't sign my name to anything so, why would I provide a phone to a person over the phone that I had never hear of. Ever since XXXX XXXX got my phone number, they have been harassing by phone and email. They also stated that they had emailed me notifications for payment as well. I ask them many times to stop calling me. Each time they called me they asked for a credit payment. And each time I tell them that I will not pay them for something that I can do myself by going online through the department of education. I have reported them to the BBB and other government entities. I have been trying for over a year to reach Manhattan Beach Venture , LLC, the company I originally dealt with, and I have had no luck. Each phone number I have tried I get an error message, or fax sound come from the other end. Begin of XXXX I got in contact with XXXX XXXX about the contract I signed and as I read the document place that should have been signed or name should have written on was done by someone else. Because the signatures/printing does n't match my own. I am at a loss, I contacted a lawyer about this situation, and I am frustrated and at a loss and I do n't know what do. Any help I can receive would be greatly appreciated. Thank you,

Also, every year requires an annual certification form signed by the school administrator. My official graduation date was XX/XX/XXXX. The date to certify should have been XX/XX/XXXX ( 120 days after graduation ). However, somehow the certification date was changed to XX/XX/XXXX. Also, the annual certification date should have been XX/XX/XXXX. On XXXX XXXX XXXX, my XXXX grants were converted to loans. I questioned this conversion, the timing of it, and wrote a 1st round dispute requesting the newly converted loans be returned to XXXX grants. This request was denied. I am requesting a second time that the {$7500.00} in XXXX grants plus interest that was converted to loans be returned to the XXXX grant status.

I am a 2014 graduate of a XXXX program with over XXXX worth of student loans. Naturally, I was looking for some debt relief or a solution to improve my financial situation. My mom sent me a facebook article about 'debt relief ' which led my to the " Student loan relief department '' ( I use this title very lightly ) based out of XXXX , California . I talked to a representative for a decent period of time via phone and before I knew it I was locked into a $ XXXX/month service ( they fill out your paperwork for the PAYE government loan forgiveness program ) before even thinking about what I signed/read ( my lender has made me aware of that I am able to do myself for free ). I attempted to cancel the service when I was made aware ( by fed loan servicing, my lender ) that I am able to complete the 10 minute process myself when I was made aware by " Student Loan relief Department '' that 'it was too late and the work was already done ', I could not turn back. I was also initially told that I owe {$800.00} up front or {$1200.00} over 3 years ( with interest included ) to only find out that I owe {$1200.00} PLUS interest accrued over the three year period. This company has misled me about many things on the initial phone call as well as over time through email and follow up calls. They denied my request to end our business relationship ( which was a scam in the first place ) and now are virtually unreachable via phone. My lender ( XXXX ) has directed me to the FTC and XXXX to report this and states that these are scam companies. Now I am stuck paying {$1200.00} PLUS interest further putting me into debt due to being misled and misinformed. Please help me! I am willing to do what ever is necessary to help other new grads avoid falling into this trap as well!

Upon Gradutiong from XXXX XXXX XXXX University I had signed up with a program called " The Student Loan Relief Department '' and was under the impression that all of my loans would be consolidated by joining : in which I was 1st asked to make a payment of {$240.00} by XXXX/XXXX/2016, but in which was taken out of XXXX XXXX Account on XXXX/XXXX/2016 in which I did in a signed document in which I received several " fail to sender notifications '' & that it was signed incorrectly. and a later payment of {$240.00} as well all totaling up to XXXX. Afterwards I contacted my bank as stated and they tryed looking into where the {$240.00}. During the process in between the wait time of the 1st payment until now, I heard negative things about doing so, thus I contacted FAFSA, Navient and several Federal Govenment Aid programs asking about the whole process in which I was looking to get completed. Shortly after doing so I 'd realized that things just did n't quite match up and had serval hard times contacting the company & speaking with an Agent/Representative, at times I was able to do so, but not as often as I 'd like to secure become 100 % comfortable with my decision. It never seemed to be enough though, so I recently tryed backing out of the program or at least stop the process for a brief period of time until I could gather myself and get all of the information needed upon doing my research until that point, in which as stated I 'd done so ; sadly though I was told that program did n't offer a refund in regard to all the research they 'd supposedly do n't in locating my info to further the process. Overall thus is has occurred to this current date XXXX/XXXX/2016.

I received a number to call in regards to the student loan forgiveness bill XXXX passed. This contact is The Student Loan Relief Department ( TSLRD ), XXXX XXXX, XXXX. XXXX XXXX has told me that I would have my loans forgiven after tens years of minimum payments and for the first year I 'd be paying a XXXX dollar payment. When I spoke with XXXX XXXX XXXX ( my lender for student loans ) regarding a customer call back. XXXX stated that these kind of loan forgiveness companies are frauds charging money for free services and falsifying information on the loan forgiveness application. XXXX instructed me to call Consumer Finance to make a federal complaint in regards to this situation. The Student Loan Relief Department had me sign some documentations to process my loans for consolidation and charge me approximately XXXX XXXX dollars. The XXXX XXXX dollars was given to TSLRD by Manhattan Beach Ventures, LLC which is a bank that authorized the loan or credit for XXXX XXXX dollars. I do not wish to consolidate my loans nor do I wish to do any further business with TSLRD or Manhattan Beach Ventures, LLC. I spoke XXXX XXXX from TSLRD via phone and told her that I planned to file a complaint with Consumer Services, if we could not come to an agreement of to stop the process and cancel the credit for the XXXX XXXX dollars. She laughed and said that I would be paying the XXXX XXXX dollars back weather TSLRD processed to loans or not. I feel helpless, scammed and afraid of having my credit ruined. If my credit is ruined I could potentially lose my job with the Federal Government as a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX.

The Student Loan Relief Department contacted me last year ( XXXX ) regarding federal student loan relief based on my income. XXXX XXXX XXXX was the Enrollment Advisor there who took my income information and family size and submitted my application for the program. He advised I was approved and that XXXX XXXX is the third party that would pay off my federal student loan debt and auto debit my newly revised payments of {$39.00} per month. Recently, I received emails from XXXX, my federal loan servicer saying I owe over {$400.00} if I do n't reenroll in the Income Based Repayment plan by XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. So come to find out that The Student Loan Relief Department not only did not pay off my loan, they charged me for a free service I could have done myself. My federal loans were already consolidated so I 'm not sure what I actually ended up paying for. The SLRD also provided me with a temporary username and password for nslds.ed.gov to check my federal debt but I fear they changed my security question answers and information so I ca n't log on and check my balances. I have yet to be able to access my information on that database. I have tried to get in contact with this company for months to no avail. I have left countless email messages and voice messages trying to speak to someone regarding this issue to no avail. They have several different phone numbers but none of them seem to work.

On Thursday, XX/XX/2019, I reached out from XXXX from XXXX XXXX indicating that I received a notification from Navient that my loan payment was late and that my understanding was that I entered into an agreement to pay the {$39.00} per month for a certain amount of time to get my loan forgiven. I knew that my payment was not late as the {$39.00} payment was and still is autodrafted from my banking account every XXXX of the month. He stated " I'm not sure why they would request payment. It looks like we just did a recert for you. '' I am in the process of purchasing a home. My lender contacted me on Wednesday XX/XX/2019 indicating that XXXX has reported my loan as past due 60-90 days. I again reached out to XXXX via email and telephone. He provided me with notices from XXXX on both both XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX stating that I was in good standing and further that my past due balance was XXXX. I'm not sure why only one of the three credit bureaus is reporting my student loans as past due. I am not sure if XXXX XXXX is a legitimate company. I have paid them for over a year and when I recently reviewed my portal, none of my student loans are even listed on the XXXX XXXX website. I have been paying them to manage my student loans so that they can be forgiven and I do not know what the status of the forgiveness or the balance.

A company by the name of student loan relief department informed me that I would be able to get a $ XXXXmonth student loan relief plan if I paid them about {$2000.00} for their services for filing the annual paperwork ( broken up into {$35.00} payments over four years ). I was referred to this company by my little sister and her spouse who have also enlisted this company 's service. After contacting my federal student loan company, I was made aware that is program is a scam and does not forgive my student loans. The fraudulent company has my social security number, applied for loan forbearance on my behalf and even provided me with a fafsa pin and username. I have since changed my fafsa pin and username, am currently monitoring my credit and will be cancelling my bank account that I have given the company to withdraw monthly payments from. When contacting their customer service to try to cancel services with them, I either get hung up on or I am on an indefinite hold. Even when contacting the original representative that I spoke with to set this agreement up, conveniently his phone goes straight to voicemail and his mailbox can not accept any new voicemails. After speaking with my loan provider, I found out the service that this company provides is available for free and has to go through the loan provided to be valid.

On XX/XX/2016 an individual contacted me via telephone stating he worked for student loan relief/Obama forgiveness program. The representative stated he worked with XXXX and that I was eligible for loan forgiveness. The individual knew the amount of federal loans I had at the time. He proceeded to tell me to electronically sign forms on my email, which included a contract from Manhattan Beach Venture LLC stating that they will start taking {$39.00} dollars amount out of my account per month for 48 months until the amount of {$1300.00} is paid off plus 17.99 % interest rate. He then stated my loans would be forgiven from there. He then requested a signature for equitable acceptance whom would be collecting the money monthly. Soon did I find out that this was a complete scam. The company does not in fact assist in loan forgiveness nor do they work for XXXX. I am stuck paying the monthly payment because I do not want my credit score to be effected by this fraudulent company. I have made numerous complaints. In XXXX of 2016 I began the process of consolidating my federal student loans and applying for the Revised Pay as You Earn Program with the Public Service Loan Forgiveness with the federal student aid department. I contacted a company I thought was affiliated with the Federal Student Loan Department ( the Student Loan Relief Department ) to help me along with this process. I was not aware that the services offered by this company for a fee of over {$1300.00} are available for free from the department of education managing the loans. I was never told that this service is available to me at no cost. I do have paperwork I signed stating that I agree to pay the fee, but I do not feel like it should be legal for this company to charge individuals for a free service. I feel as though I was not thoroughly made aware that the same service I was paying for was something that could be completed at no cost to me. This is unfair to individuals who are simply attempting to manage student loan debt, or any debt for that matter, and are unfairly taken advantage of when attempting to do so. The representative I initially worked with is named XXXX the phone number for this company is XXXX.

I received an " offer '' from a company ( I forget if it was a direct call, or web ad, or mailer ) that offered to setup a payment plan to repay my student loans. Opting for this, I setup a monthly payment with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, speaking with XXXX XXXX, to pay {$46.00} a month. Started to see online that there was ways of canceling out my debt but did not follow. I have continued to contact them for more information and never seem to get a hold of XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ). As XXXX XXXX suggested, I contacted XXXX, whom my loans are through, to have loans put on hold. This is because the total amount of {$57.00} was to be paid off in XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX informed me that there is no such thing and expressed to file a fraud claim.

I took out a series of student loans over time beginning from XXXX to XXXX. During those timeframes, some of the schools closed, loan offices closed, companies failed to honor my requests for appeals, my work, unemployment and income taxes both state and federal were garnished! I have no paperwork from anyone! I have requested copies of the paperwork! I dont have access to my own internet or phone due to COVID! I have continuously tried to get this information! Have the correct information reported to the credit bureaus and to be used a refund with interest and back pay effective immediately!

I am continually contacted by a student loan lender wanting me to consolidate my loans. The company is " The Student Loan Relief Department '' and they leave messages that are deceptive in nature. In general, the name seems to be deceptive in nature as well. The company calls and leaves messages that lead the consumer to believe that they are your federal student loan lender and need to talk to you about your loan to entice you to call them back. Their name and practice of their advertising/marketing is misleading.

Student loan scam. Signed up after they promised to eliminate my interest, get out of default, and get a fixed payment. Realized after that I was scammed, give credit card info for preliminary payments. Was supposed to receive paperwork in the mail, never got it. They call themselves Student Loan Relief Program, called Manhattan Beach Venture LLC when they tried to withdraw money from my account. Luckily, it did n't work and I 'm not sure why ... .not sure what to do next.
