I had student loans that I defaulted on. I was rehabbing the loans as of XXXX with Credit Adjustments , Inc. as the servicer. When the pandemic hit in XXXX, there was a freeze on all student loan payments. The federal government also gave a " fresh start '' to all student loans. ( See : XXXX XXXX XXXX ) " This includes allowing all borrowers with paused loans to receive a fresh start on repayment by eliminating the impact of delinquency and default and allowing them to reenter repayment in good standing. '' Despite this, the servicer continued to report the loans as " In Collections '' with derogatory reports to all credit reporting agencies during XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX. In XXXX, I consolidated my loans, but the old loan accounts from the Dept of Education still show derogatory marks for the time during the XXXX pause.
I've been unable to get anything done by the Dept of Ed or any other agency, as I just want the derogatory credit remarks removed from my reports. The credit reporting bureaus are aware of the loan repayment pause and should not have been reporting derogatory marks onto student loans accounts during this time.
