Upon reviewing my XXXX credit report In XXXX of XXXX, seeking a home mortgage, I discovered false and inaccurate information furnished by Legacy Funding Corporation. The information furnished by Legacy to XXXX indicates that I opened an account associated with an auto loan on XX/XX/XXXX, last made a payment on XX/XX/XXXX, had a monthly payment obligation of {$340.00}, and has a balance of {$10000.00}. Please note that it is unknown to me whether Legacy has provided similar information to other credit bureaus, including XXXX and XXXX. However, the alleged debt actually relates to an auto loan taken out in XXXX to purchase a XXXX XXXX XXXX. I ceased making payments on that loan in XXXX or XXXX because the car had been in a previous accident unknown to me making the entire frame crooked. I told them to come and take the car and it was repossessed. Thus, I did not open any account with Legacy in XXXX and certainly did not make any payments to Legacy between XXXX and XXXX XXXX. Moreover, given the time that has passed, any alleged debt is barred as being far beyond any applicable statute of limitations. A demand letter that Legacy conduct and complete a reasonable investigation within thirty ( 30 ) days as required by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. 1681s-2 ( a ) ( 8 ) was sent on XX/XX/XXXX asking them to promptly correct such information with all credit bureaus to which my debt information was provided. 15 U.S.C. 1681s-2 ( a ) ( 2 ). Instead Legacy wrote the debt off but it still appears on my credit report and such has sullied my credit in the amount of {$9000.00}.

Purchased vehicle XX/XX/XXXX from dealer in XXXX, PA. The vehicle was financed with Legacy Funding of XXXX, PA. The vehicle was returned to the dealership in XX/XX/XXXX. The debt appeared on my credit until I filed bankruptcy in XX/XX/XXXX ( chapter XXXX discharged XX/XX/XXXX ). I recently obtained a copy of my credit report and it shows on my credit report and loan initiated XX/XX/XXXX, and repossession of vehicle in XX/XX/XXXX. I called Legacy Funding @ XXXX today and spw a gentlemen who refused to give me his name. I asked why is this showing on my credit report and I dont owe them anything nor have I had the vehicle in 16 years, also it was included in my bankruptcy over 10 years ago. The gentleman stated we never got the car, so you owe. I said the information being reported is totally inaccurate, as the Loan originated 17 years ago and the car was returned 15 years ago. He said it was my problem not his and refused to assist and hung on me several times, now phone calls go to voicemail when I call. This seems like a scam!! I disputed issue with credit bureau, however this is damaging my credit, it has increased my overall debit by XXXX and also dropped my score by 30 points. Please advise how I can resolve this.
