I was in my house when XXXX men showed up looking for XXXX XXXX. I told them that was my previous name. They made me sign a document and handed me a garnishmentletter. I was very shocked because I do not oweanyone anything under that name. I came to this country at the end of XXXX with a tourist visa and I was living with my cousin who supported me financially. I overstayed my visa whichwasonly good forXXXX months and I was illegalwith no work documents. I got married in XXXX to a XXXX citizen, and took his last name of XXXX and about 6 months later I obtained my work authorization and social security number and was valid to work so I got employed. All the loans I had were under thename of XXXX XXXX. I could not have had a prior loan because I did not have working paper and no job.To my surpriseI received the garnishmentpaper under the name of XXXX XXXX. Iresponded to the orderof show cause that I do not owe anyone and I do not know the people suing me. To my surprisethe court clerktold me that it was a judgement against me and that I also settled the case. I believe thatthey illegallyobtainthat judgement and are attempting to sue me.I have the right to be in court during the judgement.. I neverreceivedany court documentsand did not settle anything. XXXX XXXX and his lawyer sued me behind myback and I was not aware ofjudgement therefore they got a default judgement against me 19 years ago. I am living in the same apartment 23 years ago. I nevermoved. The court also toldme that someone requestedthecase archive XXXX which was not me. They wait until XXXX to start togarnish me. I contacted my XXXX local XXXX and was given a lawyer which I found out later he was not a debt lawyer when he started telling things that after searching on the web were not accurate. He advised me to settle and get over it.
I settled a debt for {$2000.00} that I did not even owe.I don't even know these people. When the lawyer responded to my order of show cause it got even very strange with an account number and date that was not true. I requested an archive of the case from the court. I was told it would take time because the debt was XXXX XXXX XXXX. Now I asked for a satisfaction of judgement and my lawyer was not even able to get it from them. XXXX my lawyer stated that they claimed that I paid {$1900.00} I sent him the proof of the XXXX money orders of {$1000.00} each. My lawyer contacted them with the proof and he is still waiting. He provided me with proof of an email he sent to them .Please investigatethese people before they do the same thing to someone else. I believeI was scammed.I have a lot of things going in my life I want to get in the bottom of this

I contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX in regards to a notification on my credit report. They informed me of my balance of XXXX that was sold to XXXX XXXX XXXX. They gave me a telephone number 0f XXXX with and address of XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX South Carolina XXXX. I called the number and the number was actually to XXXX XXXX XXXX a company that manages accounts for XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX referred me to XXXX gave us reference number XXXX and a telephone number of XXXX. I called the number and left a message no live agent available. I referred to a letter I received the Law offices of Steven Cohen LLC address XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Ny XXXX telephone number XXXX. I was placed with a manager named XXXX my husband asked him questions about the letter received and why the balance was over XXXX currently when the debt purchased price was XXXX. He said because there was a judgment placed in XXXX County by XXXX XXXX XXXX and gave me an index number XXXX after looking into it there was no such index number or judgment. The Law Offices of Steven Cohen said it was placed in XXXX. I contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX at XXXX they would not release any information about any judgments and informed us XXXX XXXX XXXX recalled the account. After doing another search for a judgement I contacted XXXX County Sherriff the deputy informed me that they had just today received a judgment from the Law Offices of Steven Cohen and I would received paper work for it within 2 days. The same company that had told me I had a judgement from XXXX for the same exact matter. When I had first contacted the Law Offices of Steven Cohen XXXX XXXX answered the phone with music blasting I gave her my name she pulled up my account. I feel that the amount they are trying to collect is illegal and unfounded and their methods of intimidation to collect the amount of money are blatant violations of the FDCPA

I received a letter from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX NY in XXXX of XXXX. It was a judgement letter from a supposed debt that was rendered in XXXX. I was never formally served with any paperwork stating that I was to present to Court to contest this debt. They stated that the full amount owed was {$3900.00}, stemming from interest, fees and poundage at 5 % from XXXX to the present. A debt verification was sent to the attorneys in question, since I have no knowledge of said debt. Stating that he was collecting on a judgment, I was sent a copy. The debt is from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, whom I've never heard of until the receipt of the letter from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I've requested the original copy of whatever agreement was signed that accrued this alleged debt. They have threatened garnishment and/or to freeze my bank account if I don't pay, yet they are unable or unwilling to present evidence of what this debt supposedly is and who owns the original debt in question.
Both the Law Offices of XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX are included for this complaint.

On XX/XX/2023 I received notice from my bank that one of my accounts were frozen. Found out who put the freeze on my account through the bank. I had not and still have not received any verification or paper work verifying that this debt is mine.
On XX/XX/2023 contacted XXXX XXXX of Steven Cohen LLC, XXXX NY. During the conversation I explained that I had no idea what debt I might have that needed collecting. I asked if I could be provided with any information regarding the debt, including a debt validation letter. He verified my mailing address and said it would be sent to me.
I emailed XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/2023 again asking for any information regarding this debt. I still have not received any communication from them to this point.
Since then Ive heard nothing from them. Ive not received any information for me to even be to able to verify if the debt is mine. My account is still frozen and there has been no word from the collector. Its been almost 6 weeks

Apparently I had a credit card from XXXX visa back in 2008. I know for sure my credit limit was no more then {$500.00}. I received a letter from the city clerk of the city north tonawanda XXXX XXXX of niagara today saying I 've been sued for {$3100.00}. They stated I have 20 days to make first payment, which is XXXX % of my total wages or their gon na contact my employer and go through them. I 've Google the credit card company XXXX, who I apparently had soo long ago, 8+ years ago and I found out this is happening to so many people. This company went bankrupt in 2008. Please I need help resolving this asap.

XXXX was an online catalog back in the XXXX and they are still writing me after I had filed many attempts for them not to contact me anymore for something I dont owe. They have now added some interest and fees to a Dept making it well over {$4500.00} for something I dont even owe. Under my old married name. They now have an attorney writing me as they had already ceased all action over 10 years ago only to restart. They have filed for bankruptcy and if you XXXX them, XXXX XXXX they had to pay millions for lying about how much they made. I wish for them to stop harassing me for a debt that is not mine! Mr. XXXX forwarded an expired judgement that is not mine, and has told me he will take legal action, I responded with that I take legal action, and he has forwarded a letter stating " I will report you to the appropriate authorities '' " I will be reporting it to the police '', I am very scared, I don't want to be arrested for something that is not mine, nor for defending myself, I don't want this lawyer to call the police make something up and I am in jail!
