I received a collections letter dated XX/XX/XXXX from an Attorney Richard Manning Jr. of XXXX XXXX XXXX for {$1200.00} XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Massachusetts. This is not my debt. My mother passed away on XX/XX/XXXX, shortly before she passed unknown to me coerced and seriously ill she had placed my sister XXXX on a joint account held in my name and my mothers name ( XXXX XXXX ). This was done behind my back without my consent, knowledge or permission. The credit union called me shortly after my mother passed and stated funds from a social security check direct deposit were missing and needed to be returned. I informed them I had not made any deposits or withdrawals, lived in PA so whom did they give the actual money to. The credit union representative stated they checked the withdrawal and XXXX XXXX XXXX actually was given the account funds and she also closed the account. I informed them that was a theft of monies and of a social security check and I had not taken or received any funds from that account. The representative stated they would take up the matter with XXXX XXXX XXXX and the account had already been closed also by XXXX. I informed her I had received no notice from the credit union XXXX was placed on the account I had received no notice she was closing the account. Now I am being placed in collections when I was victimized by the banking practices of the credit union, even though I notified them of the theft of monies from my mothers account was not authorized by me. I received no notifications, calls ( cell number the same as when they called me in XXXX ) and this is the first of notices I am expected to repay an amount owed by someone else who committed social security check fraud.

I was contacted by Attorney XXXX XXXX to pay a medical debt to Child and Family Services of XXXX XXXX. I contacted them and told them I could not pay the debt as I am a student, housing insecure on public assistance. They refused to negotiate. My mom offered them a payment plan. They refused two payments and wanted one lump sum. We could not afford it. They sued me in small claims court 45 miles away from where I live. I could not obtain transportation. They got a judgment. They sent me a letter that says if I dont pay they will request I be arrested and be held until the debt is paid in full. I dont think that is legal. There isnt a debtors prison.
