I received a call in XX/XX/2019 from someone stating they were from the Law Offices of Crystal Moroney, attempting to collect a debt for returned checks in the amount of {$400.00} ( plus {$30.00} fee x 2 returned checks ), for {$460.00} total that were originally from XXXX XXXX XXXX. I requested that proof of this debt be sent to me, so that I can validate, and pay if needed. I was told they can email me proof. I never received an email. Also, the phone number listed on their website to contact them, there is never an answer. On XX/XX/19, I received another call from this " law office '' following up on the debt. I responded that I have not been sent any proof of this debt yet. They insisted that they emailed it on XX/XX/XXXX, and I continued to state that I never received it. I asked what address do they have on file for me. They had an incorrect address, and I proceeded to give them my correct address. I asked if the woman on the phone, representing herself as a lawyer, named Crystal Moroney, could please verify the amount I owe, and provide me with a file number so that I could attempt to pay online to stop this continued pursuit. She stated that the amount owed is {$790.00}. I stated that this is not the amount of the debt owed, and what makes this up? She stated that there are additional " fees '' added on being that it is 90 days past due and they need to make the original creditor whole. I stated that the original debt has been listed as " charged off '' on my credit report, so there is no making this original creditor whole. Clearly they have purchased this debt in an attempt to collect. She stated they do not buy debt, but act as lawyers on behalf of companies to collect debt. I again asked for proof of the {$790.00} debt to be sent to me, and I was met with severe pushback, and was told to check my email because it was previously sent in XX/XX/XXXX. I will not pay this company without proof of the debt, and also, based on their reviews online, as well as court cases I see against them, I do not feel safe paying them.

1. when emailing about the debt, Moroney Law never gave the amount due in any emails ( dates of emails XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX ) 2. the name of the creditor to whom the debt is owed was not stated in any emails -The emails sent specify that disclosure or use of any of the information contained in this e-mail transmission is STRICTLY PROHIBITED ( no copy of emails for you ) 3. they have called between the hours of XXXX - XXXX without knowledge of circumstances repeatedly ( XX/XX/XXXX XXXX ) other instances can be obtained from an old phone if neccesary 4. during communication with my father the debt collector threatened to take matters to an attourney and that it would effect my credit score which caused him to call me and harrase me about a debt he isnt allowed to know about. ( they record calls )

On XX/XX/XXXX I got a phone call from XXXX he said he was from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. His name was XXXX, he said he was trying to collect a debt I owed from XX/XX/XXXX on a book I rented online. The book was XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. Well I didn't order this book online. He wanted me to pay today with my debit card. I have not recieved any letter from this law office in New York.So I did not give this man any information. Went online typed in the number and bingo XXXX XXXX is a very busy man trying to scam peoples money. You might want to check into this. I am calling XXXX XXXX personally tomorrow to see if she has any information of this claim. I will not pay anything without getting written information first.

While checking my credit report, I noticed an XXXX report of allegedly returned check from XXXX reported by law office of Crystal Moroney located in New York. I contacted both XXXX and my bank and they do not have any record of the said debt. I tried to contact the law office of Crystal Moroney and their phone number does not even work. I believe this is a scam. I don't even use check to make purchases. I always use debit or credit card and so if I don't have the funds it will not be approved automatically. I think this law office is a scam.

the guys name is XXXX XXXX. I have repeatedly numerous times asked hit to stop calling me this is a work number. But he refuses even going to great lengths contacting my family members and threatening me with jail or lawsuits. he calls about 20 times a week at all hours of the day. when i ask him to stop he claims he has the legal right to call me as often as he likes and the only way he will stop is when i pay him. i know nothing of this debt and it is from many years ago.

On XXXX XXXX XXXX I received a notification from XXXX XXXX stating that I had XXXX new collections reporting on my credit report from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX stating they were all opened in XXXX XXXX. I have no knowledge of this debt nor have I ever received any written notification, phone calls, or proof of the alleged debt.
