I initially I had 3 charge-off accounts with XXXX XXXX All accounts were closed and charged off in XXXX. I never received any type of notification at that type to settle the debt or bring amounts current. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX consigned or transferred to the debt to an alleged collection agency '' XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. Im assuming they did because I started to receive contact from this law office. I tried to contact the original creditor XXXX XXXX and the told me to contact the collection agency. So I ask the collection agency to provide proof of debt and which it was verified. I proceeded to make payments each month because they threatened to take me to court. I finally had the means to resolve my past poor financial decision making in XXXX. I settled and paid in full one of the accounts on XX/XX/XXXX for the amount of XXXX with the John E. Lindner collection agency. Please note the debt on my credit report still shows XXXX XXXX and not John E. Lindner. I requested a pay off notice from the collection agency on the telephone XX/XX/XXXX, by letter XX/XX/XXXX and no response. I checked my credit report and they continued to report derogatory remarks on this account even though it was paid in full. I then submitted a letter to John E. Lindner that I will not be making payments until I pay my IRS debt and I will call back once I am ready to proceed with making payments. I then called on John E. Lindner office on XX/XX/XXXX to begin making payments. At that time I ask to settle another one of the accounts. The balance was {$850.00}, we agreed to settle for {$400.00}. I sent a cashier 's check on XX/XX/XXXX to settle that debt. I again requested a pay off notice and never received one. They continued to report negative marks on my credit report and a balance of XXXX even though it was settled. I requested that they correct this and they told me they do not report to the credit bureaus. I called John E.Lindner on XX/XX/XXXX to settle the last and final debt. They initially agreed to {$3700.00}. I provided my backing information for payment. The representative took the wrong information down. I know this for a fact because I recorded the phone call. Due to not receiving another pay-off notice. I reported John E. Lindner to the Better Business Bureau. Once I noticed the settlement amount was not withdrawn from my account I proceeded to call the collection agency John E. Lindner again. They claim my check bounced if though I never sent a check for this last amount, this is what they told the XXXX On XX/XX/XXXX I requested to settle again. Then they changed to the final debt settlement amount to {$3100.00}. I paid the amount on XX/XX/XXXX and it cleared my bank on XX/XX/XXXX. On my latest credit report from all three bureaus it still shows a balance of XXXX. I continued my report with the XXXX and the collection agency finally provided the notice stating all debts are paid. I then disputed accounts with the three credit bureaus. Unfortunately they claimed the debt was verified even though all debts were paid and settled. This is why I am asking for your help. No resolve at all and I am so tired of fighting even though based on the guidelines of the FCRA I am well within my rights to get this corrected.

I, XXXX, received a letter from Law Office of John E. Lindner, P.A On XX/XX/XXXX 2016 dated XX/XX/XXXX, 2016 on behalf of XXXX. The letter stated that I owed {$680.00}. It also stated that I had 30 days to dispute the debt in writing. I sent a certified letter on XX/XX/XXXX, 2016 and was signed for on XX/XX/XXXX, 2016. I have not received a response from XXXX office in writing as of today. I received a call from a XXXX at ext XXXX in XXXX office on XX/XX/XXXX, 2016 stating that they had not mailed a response to my letter as of yet. She was just given my letter and told to call me to see if we could go over my payments that I had made and that they had filed suit on XX/XX/XXXX, 2016 as well as add {$34.00} to my account for the suit. She said she was going to talk to someone about the suit in her office. She sounded surprised they had filed suit. She also stated she was going to mail me out a statement of my account. I received a letter from them on Friday XX/XX/XXXX, 2016. Imagine my surprise when I opened it up and it stated the since they did not receive a response to their letter they were moving forward with the suit as soon as they received the court fees from their client. I was not disputing that I owe the hospital money. I have been making monthly payments of {$25.00} since I received the bill. I am disputing the amount this lawyers office says I owe. They applied a payment I made on this account to my account ( which is now paid ) I told them 3 times to apply it to the right account. Yes I indicated this account number on my check. Another violation of Fair Debt Collection Act. They received my letter not only did I get a call from his office saying so I also have the receipt from the certified letter. They have violated the Fair Debt Collection Act at least 3 times in this whole process. I also have all my cancelled checks. Your help with this matter would be greatly appreciated. It is hard enough on families with the cost of insurance and these ridiculous deductibles. I am at least making payments. I also contacted the XXXX in Maryland. They said this Law Firm is n't licensed in Maryland.

I was sued from XXXX XXXX hospital for not paying a medical bill. The hospital sent my accounts to a debt collection law office called John E. Lindner Law Offices in XXXX, MD. I received a notification from their office with two options to settle this dispute. One was to appear in court or make payment arrangements to avoid from going to court. In XX/XX/2018 I called and spoke to Mrs. XXXX from John E. Lindner Law Offices in XXXX, MD to receive an update on the balance I owe and it was {$2000.00}. I spoke with Mrs. XXXX about all three accounts in XX/XX/2018 to receive the balance of what I owe again. She told me the total balance for all three accounts are still {$2000.00}. I asked her if I can receive a statement because I believe the amount never moved since XX/XX/2018. She assured me that she would send me a statement in the mail and I never received it. I called her again XX/XX/2018 to settle a dispute because the payments for two of the accounts stop posting to my credit card being that we had an agreement for monthly payments to be charged to my credit card. So we settled a payment plan for both accounts for the next 8 months. I asked her about the balance again and she said it still is {$2000.00} which I find that hard to believe because I made several payments since then. I am not sure what to do at this point since they haven't mailed me a statement and I am not sure if the payments are going only to interest or towards interest and the bill. If it is only going to interest, what are you charging because that it a substantial amount to charge for interest.

I received a letter from the Law Office of John E. Lindner in XX/XX/2018 threatening to sue me on behalf of XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX over debts of which I had no knowledge. The total amount of the claim was {$2000.00} and cited various charges over a three-year period. While I was working to resolve the billing issues with XXXX and my insurance company, the debt collector filed suit and set a court date. Between my insurance and myself, the majority of the debt was paid. However, my insurance advised me that they do not see any reason I would owe the additional amount. I wrote the debt collector, including proof of payment for the debts that my insurance company found to be legitimate, and requested details on the other debts. Given the billing issues I had already experienced with XXXX and the fact that I never received a bill in that amount and my insurance company does not show a copay in that amount, I need proof that this is a legitimate claim. The debt collector did not provide details on the claim in a timely manner and continued with the law suit knowing that the debt was being addressed. When I called the debt collector the Friday prior to the scheduled court date, the debt collector refused to cancel the court date and law suit despite a major portion of the debt having been paid and them failing to provide details on the additional charges.
