In XXXX my husband and I defaulted on an unsecured loan from our local bank. The XXXX was put into receivership with the FDIC, and its assets sold. Our defaulted loan was sold to XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX. One month later it was sold again to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX. Then in XXXX XXXX it was sold again to Lakeland West Capital, LLC. In XXXX of XXXX we were served notice that we were being sued for this debt, by XXXX XXXX, representatives of Lakeland. I contacted XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, in XXXX XXXX and paid XXXX then to stay the case, and had a conversation with XXXX about being able to pay the balance in near future, if a reduced payoff could be negotiated. He said it could. He emailed me requesting agreeing to {$700.00} now/ $ XXXX month. I sent XXXX. When contacted about new payoff XXXX XXXX, he responded with XXXX I replied that the original debt sued for {$4300.00}, less {$700.00}, should be more like XXXX. Asked for recalculation, with no further response. I then called XXXX XXXX, collections for Lakeland. The phone was answered " XXXX ''. Thinking I had dialed in error, hung up and called back with same response. I left VM, and emailed her. Over the next few emails I asked for reduced payoff again, a detailed statement of what I owe, what interest rate they are charging, is interest still being charged, and how my payment was applied and how do they arrive at XXXX for the pay off. She replied that they had paid XXXX in legal fees to XXXX XXXX. and that the payment was applied to late fees and back interest, nothing to the principle. It seemed odd to me that a car finance company is involved in my old loan, so I started XXXX. It appears that XXXX, XXXX XXXX and Lakeland all share directors and presidents that are all interelated, and involved in scores of debt " investors '' companies. I feel that they sold and resold my loan to each other to inflate the fees and costs associated with my debt. Furthermore I feel XXXX is in collusion with these people in setting a " payment plan '' with no terms, no explanation of how the payments are to be applied, no explanation the INTEREST is still ACCRUING BY THE DAY, how much the interest is or anything else. In my opinion the XXXX XXXX fees are inflated because the summons indicated that XXXX other debtors were in the same batch as my case. Am I supposed to pay XXXX a month FOREVER? In every other instance of setting up payment arrangements, even with credit card companies, they stopped charging interest, and were flexible in the payment amount. When I told XXXX XXXX that I could do maybe XXXX and XXXX a month, his response was Lakeland want XXXX or nothing. What can I do? Thank you,
