In XXXX I bought a business in our mall. It was an XXXX XXXX XXXX The first year and a half were great. Then XXXX happened and the mall had very little business. We were pulling in on average {$100.00} a day. I didnt have the capital to keep the business up during the hard times, so we had to close.
I owed a food service about {$16000.00} at that time of which I was served a judgment in XXXX or so. I started paying {$44.00} a week every week. This year XXXX I have the debt down to {$4300.00}. I then received a letter from the collection agency that another {$5000.00} was attached to the judgment for interest. This bumped me back up to {$9400.00}.
I have already paid about {$23000.00} on a {$16000.00} debt and now when I am close to being paid off, they are tacking on another {$5000.00}. In the letter they sent me that was dated, and post marked for the XXXX of XX/XX/XXXX they offered me a payoff but only if I paid on XX/XX/XXXX. I didnt receive the letter until the XXXX. How can this be right. I was given no chance to rectify this situation.
Furthermore, six months ago, I called the creditor to try to negotiate a payoff and they wouldnt return my call. Now they wait until they can hit me with all this interest and offer a fake payoff because the date was after the letter was received.

I was just awarded my home in a recent divorce. I had to refinance in my own name to be able to obtain a mortgage. I was notified by email from the lender that there is a judgment/lien on the property. I called the county clerk 's office who notified me that there was a judgment. I then contacted the court where the judgment was made and they subsequently told me the nature of the claim, I discovered that this debt belonged to my son for unpaid car payments and repossession.
They had his address listed and his identifying information but they put a lien on my residence because he shares the same name as my ex-husband. I explained all of this to the collector XXXX, who said that it happens all the time but they were not going to do anything to rectify the situation. My son and ex-husband have different birthdays, social security numbers, and middle initials. They even had my son 's address listed on the court documents. They were fully aware that these were not the same people. My son was XXXX years old when we bought the house.
The judgment was entered on XX/XX/2023 in the amount of {$3800.00}. The business is XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. The debt collector is Lacy Katzen LLP. I spoke with the collector this afternoon on XX/XX/2023.

In XXXX I contacted the office of lacy katzen tool make a payment plan to settle a debt. I first was on the phone with one personWho kept repeating herself about a my financial situation regarding to my payment to the account in question. I told her you keep repeating yourself as if she was trying to make me feel bad about the situation.So calmly I ask can I please speak to someone else. When the other lady got on the phone I heard in her voice that she may have talk to the other person because her tone was very throw off-ish as if she did not want to deal with me. I remain calm cool and collected proceeded to tell her what was going on and then she made false statements about my income that I make. Also she claimed to know when I get paid as if I get paidAs other people with in the profession. They were very rude and very unprofessional and Im the one that caused them to try to set up some sort of agreement.

I filed for bankruptcy in XX/XX/XXXX because of legal debts my son incurred that I signed legal responsibility for. The attorney filed a summary judgment against my son for the debt. However I signed all contracts for responsibility of the payment. We received a judgment after notification of bankruptcy on XX/XX/XXXX. The attorneys fees were included in the bankruptcy filing. I contacted the collection agency and was told they are my sons bills. This is difficult to comprehend because the attorneys fees were again included in the bankruptcy. I need help with this collection agency trying to collect from XXXX parties when I signed all documents. I have a letter from the attorney dated XX/XX/XXXX that the bills are my responsibility.
