My loan forbearance was coming up to an end and I started recieving emails and calls about the new repayment plans offered. The explanation of these plans are offered on the US Department of Education 's website so when XXXX XXXX XXXX contacted me giving me all the details of all of my loans and described which plans I may be eligible for, it seemed like a legitimate company. Due to the fact that I made below a certain amount of money, I qualified for the Income Driven Repayment program. Which was explained to me that if I paid the {$540.00} dollar fee plus $ XXXX that I would only have to pay $ XXXX for the next 20 years, and that I qualified for all of my interest to basically go away and that now I would only have to pay the principal for as long as i had the same income. The only way that would change is if I had a substantial change in income. I entered into the agreement with the XXXX XXXX XXXX, referred to as XXXX, on XX/XX/2019. I made the monthly payments of {$180.00} for 3 months at the end of each month XX/XX/2019, XX/XX/2019, and XX/XX/2019 totally {$540.00}. No change in my income has occurred. Once I paid the {$540.00}, I spoke with someone at the US Department of Education because I was still receiving letters about my student loans. They informed me that the XXXX was not a company that they are affiliated with and that my interest was actually 6 %!! I explained to them what I was told and the payment plans, they told me that if I was entered into the agreement under false pretenses that I would need to report it. I have since then, put all of my loans back to the previous lender that is recognized by the US Department of Education and have attempted to contact the company XXXX for a refund of my funds. I called the phone number provided to me in the emails containing the contract and have spoken with them when filing the agreements in XXXX through this phone number, now the phone number is temporarily out of service. My credit card company who is supposed to protect me against fraud is giving me a really hard time about this. This credit card company is XXXX XXXX.

I was called by One File.org back in XX/XX/2016 about consolidating my loans into a new program that would allow me to make much lower monthly payments based on my income and that all student loan debt remaining after 120 on time monthly payments would be forgiven. The initial quote from one file was a monthly payment of {$120.00}. They told me that I would need to make 3 installments of {$300.00} in order to have my loans included in this program. I never agreed to pay the fees or to have my loans consolidated, I just requested that they send me all of the information and my final quote after I provided them with my income documents. I later found out that they had taken the complete {$900.00} fee out of my checking but never did anything about my loans, so after about 6 months I called to inquire and they said that someone would have to call me back. 3 months after that I noticed that I was receiving mail from a loan servicer named XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and that this same company was taking {$240.00} per month out of my checking account. I called both companies immediately. XXXX XXXX told me that they were servicing my consolidated loans. One File.org still could not answer my questions and when I requested the fee be returned to me and told them that I never agreed to have my loans consolidated, they told me that they would have to have a supervisor pull the recording of the calls and get back with me. One File.org was also taking {$10.00} per month from me for broker fees. Someone from XXXX XXXX told me to change my FSA ID and password to end the illegal fees, so I did but somehow One File.org changed it again to continue taking the fees. To this day, I call frequently with no response from One File.org and now pay more per month than if they had never called me to begin with.

I have been repaying my student loan through 1file.org, since I believe XXXX or XXXX. Every month, I pay {$39.00} based on my income. Every year, I submit my two most recent pay-stubs to ensure my qualification for Public Loan Forgiveness ( I am a XXXX in a XXXX XXXX School ). I recently was contacted by XXXX XXXX that I owe {$240.00} because I did not submit this same information on time. I called them ( Public Loan Forgiveness ) and they said there's nothing on file currently for Public Loan Forgiveness. I explained I was working with 1file.org and I have been submitting monthly payments to them. They said there's nothing in my history showing I've made any payments since XXXX ( I believe ). Right away, I knew something wasn't right. I tried contacting 1file.org and they became like a ghost. The website wasn't working and all numbers I called previously, were off line and unavailable. I then went through my XXXX folder and found an emailing stating there was a lawsuit against 1file.org. Upon investigating further, I found the company who they are with, XXXX XXXX XXXX, also doing business as 1file.org, and the company has been suspended during the lawsuit. I talked with XXXX XXXX ( XX/XX/XXXX ) and they advised me to make a complaint with you and that this 3rd party was sending fraudulent information to them for years. For example, they stated I have a family of XXXX, which I don't. They were sending all my information to an email address connected to them and all my information was corrupt and stollen. She explained that I need to set up something immediately with them and could be in jeopardy of not being able to file Public Loan Forgiveness if audited.

On XX/XX/2017, we contacted 1File.org in order to inquire about loan consolidation. During the initial consultation with XXXX XXXX, he was very helpful, but misleading. XXXX told us that the {$280.00} payment that was to be made three times was to go towards unpaid interest on our current loans. After that, our monthly payment was {$46.00} ( {$39.00} toward their fee and {$7.00} toward the loan ). After paying our three {$280.00} payments, they took from our account {$39.00}, not {$46.00}. Meanwhile, we are being contacted by XXXX XXXX in regards to late payment. We found out that we owed XXXX XXXX {$56.00} every month for our consolidated student loans. After contacting 1File, we were informed that the three payments of {$280.00} was a fee and not an unpaid interest payment toward our original loans. In addition, they take their fee of {$39.00}, but then we are responsible to pay XXXX XXXX. XXXX told us that 1File would distribute the {$7.00} for us. Also, I don't know where they came up with {$7.00} as a minimum payment because XXXX XXXX requires {$56.00}. So now, I am paying interest on top of consolidated interest. This is a complete scam. They lie to you and then charge you. This process can be done for free. Why would anyone in their right mind pay {$840.00} to have someone file paperwork for them? They would if they were told that it wasn't a fee but an unpaid interest payment instead. They will try to say that we agreed to everything via a recording, but what they don't have is all of the conversation before the recording where XXXX talks fast and then we respond " yes '' going off of the previous conversations.

On XX/XX/2019, I received a phone call from 1FILE.ORG. The representative said they could help me with my delinquent loans. I gave her my income information and she said I qualified for much lower payment than what I had with my previous loan company. She emailed me an application that evening for me to fill out and return. She stated that I had a fee to pay in the beginning that would be divided into four payments, then my smaller payments would start. This plan would be reevaluated after one year. My first payment came out on XX/XX/2019. I checked my account yesterday because the second payment should have been deducted. If they took a second payment, it was a little lower than my first payment. I am going to call my bank to see what this payment is because I I don't recognize it. Today I received three envelopes from another loan company ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ). One letter stated that my consolidation was complete As I read the letters, the verbiage was different from what was discussed on the phone. I spoke to a representative from XXXX XXXX XXXX and told her about the arrangements that I made over the phone.. She asked if I was dealing with a third party. I told her I only knew of the company that I spoke to on the phone. She said they do not make arrangements like that. The system shows a XXXX payment plan for me for one year. They have not received any payment from me. She said I needed to call the Federal Trade Commission to make a complaint and see where my money is going. The representative at FTC took my information and stated that I needed to call Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

In XX/XX/XXXX, I came across a loan consolidation company called 1file.org. After they agreed to pay off my loan, I gave them an upfront fee of {$600.00} and paid them {$39.00} per month the first year. For the subsequent years, I paid the {$600.00} annual fee, and they reassessed my monthly payments each year through XXXX. The monthly fee increased to {$170.00} throughout those years. I was told that they paid off my student loan, and I would only do business with them. During the pandemic, I tried to contact them regarding my payments, because my work hours were cut because of the pandemic. I discovered that their website and phone numbers were out of service. Recently, I began receiving emails from my old loan servicing company regarding my federal student loan which 1file.org insured me that they paid off and consolidated this loan. After researching the company 1file.org, I discovered the following article. https : //www.ftc.gov/news-events/press-releases/2019/11/ftc-stops-student-loan-debt-relief-scheme-allegedly-bilked Unfortunately, I have been scammed by this company that stole thousands of dollars from me. How do I pay my late fees and interest on this loan? If possible, I would like this loan to be forgiven. I have many emails dating back to XXXX regarding my payments to this company.

I have been paying a monthly fee to a company called 1File.org, however the transaction on my account always said " Department of Education '' , until 2 months ago. When I start this agreement with the company, 3 1/2 years ago I was lead to believe is was the Department of Education. I was told they work for the Department of Education and will send my application for the XXXX Loan Forgiveness and help with processing and handling my consolidated loan. I made two large payments in XXXX and XXXX of 2016 to start the process of consolidating my loans and applying for the XXXX, I was under the impression that the money I was paying would go towards my loan and they were handling all the paperwork, as the DOE. Since XX/XX/2016 I have paid {$39.00} every month. I was just informed, today, by my loan company that they are a third party company that reapply for me ever year. That I could reapply with them much easier and not need a third party company, after explaining my confusion and explaining who I thought they were I was given this website to file a complain. I have paid of {$2000.00} to this company, and they never submitted a teacher loan forgiveness application for me. Something I should have received years ago.

Original complaint number : XXXX On XX/XX/2015, I contacted the number that was played on the radio regarding paying back Federal student loans that were income driven. I called the number and got set up. I was connected with an XXXX how gave me his direct number ( XXXX ) for further questions after I completed the documents. I paid the {$590.00} as suggested and a monthly service fee of {$39.00} for the duration until the amount was paid off. When I originally filed my complaint, I did not send those documents, because I could not find them. I was under the impression during the phone call that all monies would be going toward my loan and that large amount was to get it started. Later, I found it was a fee to pay to the 1File.org for setting me up to have my loans paid with lower payments. I also found that it was not legal to do so. Therefore, I am submitting the documents, once again, for your review.

I have been with 1file.org for two years was going on three. Before coming to an agreement of consolidation, I asked did they provide the loan debt forgiveness program. I was told the positively offer loan forgiveness. I made a large first payment then {$39.00} a month. I recently received an email two months ago to not make payments to this company due to legal actions. Come to find out they wasnt certified to offer loan debt forgiveness. I made a payment {$150.00} for recertification which was due XX/XX/2019. This became an issue being that I was thinking I was moving forward with a process to clear up this debt. Now I am trying to figure out how to recover the money they took from me which could of just went towards my student loan.

I have paid about {$1000.00} to a company that I thought was helping consolidate and lower my monthly student loan debt, and my actual servicer claims they have received no money since my account was set up. They called me in the middle of my application on studentloans.gov for an Income Driven Repayment plan, and XXXX ( my agent ) claimed that he worked for the government. I sent them sensitive documents including a recent paystub, and they charged me monthly fees for something that needs to be done only yearly. They are preying on vulnerable people who are taking steps to eliminate their debt and cause them more strife.

Received a call from 1file.org claiming to help with loan consolidation for my student loan. I payed {$900.00} up front and {$39.00} a month for this service. I have not seen any consolidation information or loan forgiveness help. I am paying two separate amounts, {$39.00} to 1file.org and {$160.00} to XXXX. I am wondering if the 1file.org company is a scam and how I can stop the monthly payments.
