I have attempted to rectify this incorrect debt claim to no avail. I have previously opened a complaint, # XXXX, stating the debt was not mine and I was a victim of identity theft. A report was also filed with the FTC, # XXXX. I have received only one correspondence from the debt collection company, at which time I had returned contact and explained the debt was not mine and there is a misunderstanding as this was due to identity theft and I never had a contract that I opened. Please see below the previous complaint information, as I was contacted by KASON CREDIT CORPORATION in regards to an outstanding balanced owed to XXXX - XXXX XXXX in the amount of {$450.00}. I was a victim of identity theft, personal identification and other sensitive information to my identity was stolen. I have filed a ID Theft Report report with the FTC regarding the issue. This debt is not mine and believe my information was wrongfully used to open the account. The company 's return response is not accurate. I have not received " numerous letters or voice messages '' as they have stated. I received one letter and contacted them immediately, stating that I did not complete the contract or agreement in question and it was fraudulent. Including, but not limited to, completing a report with the FTC for identity theft.
