Debt collector from Advanced Recovery Services, XXXX XXXX, deceptively addressed my personal XXXX debt to myself and my wife. This deceptive, because if this is submitted to the credit bureaus, it will impact my wife 's credit as if this medical debt was her 's -- which is not. I contacted the collection agency in XX/XX/2018 by letter requesting the removal of my wife, XXXX XXXX, from the debt and to cease and desist including her in this debt. I realize this is a deceptive way to collect the debt and cause irreparable harm to an entire family, instead of just the XXXX adult that owns the debt. This is why I gave the agency the chance to fix their error in judgment before submitting this complaint to you. After XXXX, they have mailed further collection letters, continuing to address them to myself and my wife. I have no recourse but to file this complaint with you and request your help in this illegal and deceptive practice by this debt collector and his or her agency. Thank you.
