HI, ok, I got a call from a company telling me that I was going to be served tomorrow between XXXX for an old payday loan. He said that I had 10 days to pay or I would be " SERVED '' and court cost plus garnishment would all add more to the bill. He scared me so I gave him my info and split the payment in half, for {$580.00} each.
I started to have doubts once I calmed down which was a couple of days, then I called the attornery general in Ohio and also my bank, Both had said they get hundered of calls like that and more than likely its a scam. So I stopped payment on the payments and luckily my bank refunded XXXX payment that was processed and the other payment did not go through..
I googled the company and there were alot of people who commented on how they got the exact same speal.
The name of the company is different though, the name he gave me was XXXX XXXX AT XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. The name of the company may be different but the address is identical. I am confident that this is the same company.
I just googled that address and its a XXXX.
He called me today and wanted to know why i stopped payment, of course this was on my voice mail and i was at work, but XXXX minutes later, my son texted me that XXXX called him and told him to have me call about a legal matter.
I called the XXXX for New York and they told me that this company has an F rating and that is is illegal for a company to collect on a payday loan.
I hope that you can help me get him to leave me alone.

Portfolio Recovery is reporting a debt that was received from XXXX XXXX of {$190.00}. I have notified Portfolio Recovery, but it still shows on XXXX and XXXX as closed, but with a balance of {$190.00} owing. XXXX is used as a conduit for payment instead of exposing my bank account or credit card to prevent fraud. I had one account with XXXX XXXX and paid it completely on XX/XX/XXXX, leaving an overpayment of {$3.00}. On XXXX XXXX, XXXX stated the balance on the account was {$0.00}, the {$3.00} disappeared from the records.
I never used XXXX for extended charges afterwards, or small charges, which Portfolio Recovery stated occurred on XX/XX/XXXX - {$7.00}, {$1.00} ; XX/XX/XXXX - {$7.00} ; XX/XX/XXXX - {$6.00}, {$5.00} ; XX/XX/XXXX - {$9.00} The charges totalled {$37.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX - {$29.00} was added to the total, XX/XX/XXXX - {$66.00} + {$40.00}, XXXX XXXX {$38.00} + {$2.00}, and XX/XX/XXXX - {$38.00} + {$3.00}. While XXXX XXXX shared this information with me, XXXX, nor XXXX bothered to investigate by confirming with XXXX. These charges would not have accrued on my XXXX account as they would have been taken directed from my bank account through XXXX. I am including records of XXXX transaction made during XXXX through mid XXXX. The charges are FRAUD. These charges are not shown on the records. I'm including my XXXX records for your review.

Several years ago we got into a hardship when my husband became ill and had to be off of work for several months. I had a XXXX XXXX credit account that I had opened in XXXX. After awhile, I was getting behind on my payments during this time, so I contacted XXXX XXXX and did a settlement arrangement with them. I paid that off, but for some reason, XXXX XXXX reported to a collection called Portfolio. saying I owe {$690.00}. I have tried numerous times to contact trying to dispute this, but in their response they are claiming this is correct when I know it is not. My only problem is, it being several years ago, I can not find my proof. I do not want to pay again after I have settled with XXXX. It is not right to not want to work with me on this matter, I have already told Portfolio, I will not pay this. They are wrong. I have tried several times to get this disputed. It has been put on my credit file as a charge off of {$690.00} by XXXX / XXXX but I never get mail from this company. They refuse to let it go off of my credit report when I contact.

Portfolio Recovery, LLC has harassed me and contacted my employer, threatened to sue me for debt that does not exist. I have checked my credit reports from all 3 bureaus and there is no delinquent debt that is owed. If there is any debt owed it would be 20 years old. I have paid on time for all of my accounts. I have asked them to stop calling me but they refuse to do so even contacting my family members and ex-husband. They also contacted my ex-husband stating I would be sued and court documents were being sent to his home causing him to feel as though he was going to taken to court because of the verbiage Portfolio Recovery used. This could cost me my job and is a very serious matter. I have requested for this stop and it has not. What recourse do I have? Their tactics include harassment and abuse and it needs to stop.
On XX/XX/21 Portfolio Recovery LLC contacted my place of employment and have done so previously.

I am disputing the debt charged off and now this debt collection company, Portfolio Recovery is calling me two to three times a day using a robo call system. They call at XXXX and also call at XXXX almost everday for going on 3 months at this time.
XX/XX/XXXX they called at XXXX they also called at XXXX XX/XX/XXXX they called at XXXX XX/XX/XXXX they called at XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX they called at XXXX XX/XX/XXXX they called at XXXX The have been told not to call my number but still call and they are also using a Phishing technique to get me to answer by using erroneous local phone numbers to avoid their Company 's Name showing up in my caller ID.
I have warned them no less than 5 times that I would report their practices to the FTC.
