I received a granishment notice XXXX XXXX # XXXX on a debt that I had no knowledge about from XXXX XXXX. I called the creditor to get information on the debt and they claim the judgement for a debt that was my ex-husband 's is now my responsibility. I received no notice and not even was serviced with the notice of a judgment or a renewal of judgement. I now have been paying a debt that is not my responsibility and also offered my divorce decree to show proof that in my divorce decree it states specifically that that we are responsible for our own debts. They refused to accept because they can not garnish his wages because he owns a business. They were not interested in have his bank account to garnish either and were satisfied with continuing to make me pay for the debt that is not mine. They even went to the extent of stating some of it is actually mine. The lesser part is mine. Which was paid to way back in 2007 to another credit debt collector that the business is now closed. When I called the clerk of court she verified that no service was sent to me and only my ex ( XXXX XXXX ) received the service of the renewal of judgement. I never even received the service of the original judgement either. They are now garnishing me for XXXX. This sounds like alot of fraud just to hold someone responsible for a debt that someone refuses to pay. The medical bills are for XXXX and in no way shape or form should I be held responsible for his debt! This needs to be corrected and rectified. I should NOT be held responsible for my ex husband 's debts, it even states it in the divorce decree. I have attempted to call several times and talked to a very rude man that kept saying he doesn't care, not his problem as long as they are getting paid. IF I EVER WAS NOTIFIED OF THIS JUDGMENT I SURELY WOULD HAVE DISPUTED IT THEN AND EVEN WENT TO COURT REGARDING IT!!!

This company responded tell me that I was named as a co-defendant on the judgment in question, filed in XXXX XXXX XXXX, ND on XX/XX/XXXX. The judgment was renewed on XX/XX/XXXX. they claim I was served personally with the Summons and Complaint related to that judgment on XX/XX/XXXX - was not ever served! They can not provide proof and refuse to do so! The judgment was originally in another company 's name, but it was assigned to Ingenuity RM , LLC and an Assignment Notice was mailed to XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX, this never happened! I never heard of this until I was garnished. They state In accordance with North Dakota law, a Garnishment Notice was mailed to XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX followed by a Garnishment Summons ( with copy to her employer ) on XX/XX/XXXX. Our representative spoke with her on XX/XX/XXXX and explained that her name is on the judgment and she is legally responsible for medical debt incurred for herself or her spouse while married. I requested proof of service and proof of debt and never received anything!! They just keep telling me stuff that I know isn't true. I would remember getting served.

I received a collection letter in the mail from a XXXX, ND address, requesting a {$50.00} payment to go to a creditor called " XXXX XXXX ''. I have never lived in anything called " XXXX XXXX '' I have not lived in XXXX XXXX since XX/XX/2017. I never heard of the place and am not paying it because it is not mine. My amended tax return was stolen from the us postal service in XXXX a police report was filed with the police department. I dont know if it has anything to do with that but again, this is not my debt. I never lived in any such place. the place that i resided in when i was in XXXX XXXX already provided me with a letter indicating that i was in good standing and nothing was owed.

Ingenuity RM continues to send me letters in regards to a medical debt from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX for {$240.00}. File Number : XXXX. The debt and account is not my account or debt. The debt and account is the result of identity theft. Ingenuity RM keeps harassing me for a debt that doesnt belong to me. Ingenuity RM is in complete violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ). Ingenuity RM previously informed CFPB that they would close the file and not contact me anymore in regards to the debt, but they contacted me again anyway by USPS mail on XX/XX/2021. I have the letter. Review the letter uploaded. Furthermore, Review previous CFPB complaint against Ingenuity RM.

I am constantly receiving harassing, abusive, and profane phone calls and letters via U.S. mail from Ingenuity RM Representatives in regards to file number : XXXX, Amount : {$200.00}. They call multiple times a day some are after XXXX central time, from randomized numbers so I cant block it. They have started to call my place of employment multiple times. I have received a voicemail stating they will come to my place of employment that they need to coordinate a time for that to happen. Ive attached the name of the collection company and the original debt.
