In my situation, I have a satisfaction letter from a debt collection agency that was given to me. I have taken this and disputed all 3 credit reporting agencies. The results of their investigation has been unchanged and updated. I am trying to resolve a closed account under my credit report that is stating as a Charge Off/Collection from a repo and it needs to be changed to a settled debt. I have contacted all 3 parties and their managers of credit bureaus, XXXX XXXX ( original auto loan lien holder ) and Independence Capital Recovery which is formerly known as XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ( debt collection agency who purchased the debt ) to see what they can do. They all give me the runaround saying that there is nothing they can do to update my report. Here is my satisfaction letter attached to this complaint. I settled the account for less than the full amount of {$1500.00} for it to be closed.
When I have spoken to XXXX XXXX, and XXXX 's dispute center over the phone their response for the unchanged status of that closed account is that they are only a reporting agency and that they have received a satisfaction letter but give this information to XXXX XXXX to verify. They said to contact XXXX. I have contacted XXXX and spoken to a supervisor over the phone named XXXX XXXX and she advised that there was nothing she can do as once the debt has been charged off and sold to another lender they wipe their hands clean with it essentially. As I contact the general manager XXXX of Independence Capital Recovery through his direct phone number he says that this scenario has never happened to him and that they do not report to the credit bureaus. He say 's " he acknowledges the debt has been settled as he knows i have the satisfaction letter but there was nothing he can do and to then further contact the bureaus again.
The status under these accounts still are under Charge-off/collections and not settled. At the time all of these parties were contacted were the date of XXXX XXXX XXXX

In the past 6 month I am currently receiving calls and notifications from the company : INDEPENDENCE CAPITAL RECOVERY LLC, with address in XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, NY XXXX ; name of the person is XXXX XXXX and phone number XXXX.
This company is calling me every day and I told them to stop calling me or my relatives because I have a company in charge of my debits account. They continue with their threats to sue me, but in compulsive way and completely outside the legal norms. In these 6 month they have been contacting other people related with me, for example my Landor XXXX XXXX, my mother XXXX XXXX, my sister XXXX XXXX ; they are telling my relative that they going to sue me and giving these relative information about my personal information or at least informing them of my situation with that company.
I have a company in charge of all my debit accounts XXXX XXXX XXXX and this company know, because they send to Independence Capital Recovery LL a letter with all the information 's and asking them to worked together about this account.
I need your help with this because a didn't refused to pay my debit, but they need to worked with the company that I have in charge of my debit and STOP calling me or my relative.

A person named XXXX XXXX from Independence Capital Recovery LLC contacted me today XX/XX/23. I did not answer because I was at work! They left a voicemail, but didnt say anything about who or what I owe. On my way home from work today, I received a text message from my landlord telling me that they called her! Told her that they have been trying to contact me for a long time! This is the first that I heard of these people! My landlord was very upset! Im very worried that I will not be able to renew my lease because these people have harassed her! Why would you call my landlord?! Then on top of that, my father in law told my husband that they called him too?! This feels very illegal! The law says that they can call a third party to locate me. They literally called ME! So they already have my contact information!

On XX/XX/2021 XXXX XXXX with XXXX XXXX called my wife 's cell phone and my also my cell phone leaving me a voice message. He said he was trying to contact my daughter and her husband XXXX and XXXX XXXX about an important matter. My wife spoke with him on the phone XX/XX/2021 and said she will inform our daughter. He called my wife 's phone again the this morning at XX/XX/2021. This is harassment!
XXXX XXXX lied to my wife suggesting my daughter and son in law listed my wife and I as second contacts which was not true. He broke the law.
My wife and I don't owe XXXX XXXX any money. They have no reason to continue calling us and harrassing us. I contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX this morning and warned him to never contact my wife and I again. I also informed him that I was filing a complaint with the XXXX.

I requested a letter, which the collector refused to do. I reluctantly agree to correspond via email. I also asked that they not call me due to severe anxiety at which point he mocked me. Then did not send the email when he said he would. I had to leave a voicemail for the collector to remind him to send it on Friday XX/XX/22.
I received a call from the collector on XX/XX/22, After I requested to not be contacted by phone. The collector tried to say I called him which was not the case and I have proof otherwise. The collector then tried to pressure me into scheduling a payment at which point I told him I wasnt comfortable doing. I told him that I asked him not to call back to reach me via email as we agreed. He said he would just continue to call if I did not schedule the payment today.

XXXX XXXX denies having any open account with me, yet debt collectors keep calling my spouse during his working hours trying to get hold of me. I tell him to give them my number but they are relentless. I called XXXX and they deny any of this and gaslighted me over the phone as if I am imagining things. They then said call UHG at XXXX, whom XXXX referred me to Independence Capital LLC at XXXX. I need this to stop or I am considering harassment small claims options. I was a homeless Veteran when the judge made his/her decision and I had a lawyer, but here we are. I paid the account and it is considered paid in full by XXXX XXXX.
They blamed XXXX for not closing the matter properly. XXXX denies this fact. See attached for incorrect data/information by Independence Capital LLC 's CSR
