Loan holder : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX NY XXXX # XXXX Complaint against : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX In XX/XX/XXXX I entered into a student loan consolidation contract with them. On XX/XX/XXXX {$130.00} was paid and on XX/XX/XXXX {$130.00} was paid. The third payment was kicked back for insufficient funds. I attempted to contact XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to arrange for correction of this issue and never was contacted back. The number I was given to call them had a blank answering machine. With no return of my calls. E-mail 's were kicked back as not a valid address. I was never contacted back by them in any way.
This month, I discovered, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX had no contact with the company holding my loan and no funds went to the balance. I have still not been able to get anyone from XXXX XXXX XXXX to contact me back. I was apprehensive to go forward with any other consolidation of my loan because I was unsure if I would be breaking my contract with them.
XXXX XXXX XXXX was the company I was paying XXXX XXXX lXXXX XXXX through. I was able to contact them. XXXX XXXX XXXX no longer deals with XXXX XXXX XXXX and was unable to provide me a date when this severance of service occurred. I was provided with the same contact number I had left messages on several times # XXXX and an e-mail of XXXX. Previously I was contacting e-mail XXXX, which is no longer active. There e-mails also had XXXX Consolidation Department, XXXX. XXXX XXXX, XXXX, PA XXXX XXXX as an address.
No one has answered me back from either of these contact points.
The loss of the {$260.00} was nothing compared to finding out I couldnt purchase a home because my student loan was in default. This should never happen to anyone!
I have the form that I signed concerning the loan and it looks very genuine. Please contact me if any further information is needed as I am very concerned with uploading documents with personal information.

After speaking with the handler of my student loans and with the Department of Education, I was told that the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Horizon Debt Group, LLC was not a recognized contractor of the Department of Education.
On XXXX XXXX, I was contacted by XXXX XXXX, a representative from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Horizon Debt Group LLC, who told me that I was eligible to have my loans reconsolidated and forgiven after a payment towards consolidation of {$900.00} and 36 months of payments of {$40.00} per month, starting in XX/XX/XXXX. On XXXX XXXX, I signed the contact electronically and authorized a payment of {$440.00}. Because I am on XXXX, I was told that my payments would be reduced and the amount I owe would be forgiven.
However, I am not on XXXX XXXX. I was diagnosed with XXXX and had a XXXX earlier this year, and because of that, I am on long-term XXXX and am unable to work. I am also XXXX and have sustained some XXXX from treatment.
I then received an email from XXXX, the Department of Education-approved handler of my student loans that my monthly payments were overdue. I called them, and was told they had never heard of this program, nor had they been notified of this.
Yesterday, XX/XX/XXXX, I spoke with XXXX XXXX of XXXX/Horizon Debt Group, and was told that I needed to send an email to cancel this contract.
I called XXXX XXXX XXXX to stop payment on the second scheduled payment on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called the XXXX Police Department Financial and Cyber Crimes Division and was told that since this was a civil matter, to contact a lawyer. Then I called the Ombudsman Group of the Department of Education to file a report.
I do not want to put myself at risk of committing fraud and lying to get into a program to forgive my student loans.
