Re : Complaint regarding deceptive student loan relief I am filing this complaint due to serious and ongoing deceptive practices by Higher Level Processing/XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, a student debt relief company. I am requesting a full refund of all fees paid to Higher Level Processing due to material misrepresentations and violations of the Telemarketing Sales Rules no upfront fee provision, as well as a refund of the {$29.00} monthly fees that XXXX/HLP lied to me about as being needed to stay on the program. These practices resulted in serious material and immaterial harm both financial and otherwise ; defrauding me of over {$2000.00} while leaving me in a worse position financially and credit-wise than before I signed on with them. They provided no actual value or benefit and only impacted me negatively. They missed making payments on my behalf to my XXXX XXXX XXXX, ruining my credit score with three missed payments and preventing my family from being able to get a house which we otherwise would have been able to. They were in full and total control of my account ( they created a login for me, illegally, in the Dept. of Educations studentaid.gov website ) when they missed the payments and pocketed my money instead. I repeatedly asked them for my student loan login information, and they sent me emails with blank login information so that I could never log into my own accounts. I signed on with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX. After researching further, I now believe that their first company name was created as part of their deceptive marketing process so that people would confuse the XXXX student loan data system previously used by Dept. of Ed, with their company abbreviation XXXX which they used often in client documentation and communications. At some point later that year they apparently rebranded to Higher Level Processing. I have proof of this in my included documentation, which is an email from XXXX XXXX ( the sales rep that signed me on at XXXX ) but with Higher Level Processing listed in her signature. Yet at that time the email address still went to her my-nsls email. Sometime after this, both the email and signature reflected the new HLP name in communications from you. XXXX and HLP use the same address, and this is also proof they are the same company. They sent me a copy of an official White House Press Release about student loan programs, and stated that they worked hand in hand with the Department of Education. They told me it was very important to use their address and not my own. Changed the name of their company during the time I was with them and never formally let me know which seems very deceptive. This company also guaranteed a reduction of my payment by 65 %. No one ever told me that the Direct Consolidation process was free to do on my own, or that by going through it that I would lose all my years of paying them to add towards my PSLF for being an educator. This company told me to ignore XXXX because they ( HLP ) were my new loan servicer. They also reported my tax filing status wrongfully in order to get a lower payment. This company pulled payments of {$29.00} from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX and told me that I had to make these payments to stay on the federal loan programs they had supposedly gotten me on. I found out later that these were just fees to their company and did not go toward my student loans. They repeatedly said that they were part of a FEDERAL GUARANTEED LOAN FORGIVENESS PROGRAM. They did not disclose that they were just third-party companies and call centers, filling out applications I could have done on my own for free. By the way, my credit report shows that I always make my payments to every account I have. I paid {$990.00} upfront because I trusted a handful of lies thinking I was doing what was best for me and my family regarding my student loans. I am demanding a full refund of all monies paid, via cashiers check addressed to me. The total amount due from the {$990.00} and {$29.00} ( to stay on the program ) payments is : {$2100.00}. I will not accept a XXXX less. ( Monthly payments from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX I filed a XXXX complaint containing proof of the above mentioned practices and deception, and they lied and denied things that I literally have proof of ( in included emails ). They offered me a 50 % refund which is completely unacceptable. I am still trying to fix the mess that this has created for my family. Sincerely, XXXX XXXX

I reached out to this company by the name of higher level processing on XX/XX/XXXX about consolidating my student loan debt because I saw them advertised on XXXX. I spoke with them extensively and they told me that they would consolidate my student loans and I would have to pay almost {$800.00} in order for them to process my request to do so I gave them my credit card information And they told me that once they verified all of the information that I gave them they would set up my account and process my request. Also, I would have an automatic debit taken on XX/XX/XXXX. After that I received several notifications via text that my process was not yet set up because pieces of information were missing for verification, and I never gave them that information. So per their text advisement, I assumed that the service would be canceled because I was also advised via email that I would receive notification when everything was processed. On XX/XX/XXXX they attempted to debit my bank account by {$180.00} and of course it declined because those funds were not available and to my knowledge I had never had my process completed because I never received any notification. The last correspondence that I received from them was on XX/XX/XXXX advocatingThe world key me know when everything was done. I spoke with somebody immediately once I receive the notification and I told them that I did not want their service because I was already set up with XXXX XXXX for a payment plan. That person advised that per my request my services were noted to be canceled. I then received several more calls from the same company and I advised Once again that I spoke with someone earlier and cancelled my services and she said that she saw the notes and everything was fine. And then I received another call from someone by the name of XXXX and she advised that I would be Responsible for the {$800.00} regardless. I told her that my student loans were already in collection and I already had something set up with XXXX XXXX so I didnt need them. I received more harassing phone calls today on XX/XX/XXXX from the same company and I spoke with XXXX again and she said that I would be sent to collections because I owe XXXX the student loan company the money to consolidate the student loans. I then told her that she can cancel my services and I spoke with 2 other people the day before and told them to do the same thing. She insisted that I would be sent to collections per the XXXX student loan company. I called XXXX and I spoke with a woman by the name of XXXX and she advised me that not only are her service is free and I dont owe them any money, but because I have not yet processed a repayment plan for me i dontEven have a balance with them yet. They have consulted all of my XXXX XXXX debt. This was not communicated by higher level processing. Also, she advised that they did not give her the correct contact information for me. Instead of giving Them my correct mailing address they gave them their office address so I had no way of receiving any correspondences that were sent regarding my student loan repayment this is fraud and I would like for this company to be investigated immediately and I would like for their harassing phone calls to stop. theyre located in California

This complaint is regarding the company Higher Level Processing. Since XXXX I have been using their services as a third party to assist with getting federal student loans into the public service loan forgiveness program. Each year they assist with getting necessary documents submitted to XXXX XXXX XXXX to maintain eligibility in the repayment plan and forgiveness program. They have done their services with no issues until XXXX. I submitted updated information for the year XXXX when requested in XX/XX/XXXX. Beginning XX/XX/XXXX I noticed my repayment amount to have increased. I called Higher Level Processing to inquire about the reason this increase happened on XX/XX/XXXX with no answer. I then called XXXX XXXX Servicing where I was told that none of my updated information had gotten submitted therefore I was no longer in the income driven repayment plan so my payment increased. I then called Higher Level Processing again and was able to speak to someone who stated that they contacted me many times about needing updated information and that I had not submitted it. I had not received any communication with them as they stated they had done. To which they confirmed my contact information to insure it was correct, it was correct. The customer service agent resent the email to re-certify and assured me that if I got it completed in 14 days they would get me re-certified in the program no problem. I received the email and completed the information and submitted it on XX/XX/XXXX. I received no confirmation of information, but did have a charge on XXXX XXXX of {$19.00} for their services. I called them on XX/XX/XXXX to confirm information was received. The customer service agent stated a lot of confusion saying " It is not time to re-certify, we will send you that request in XXXX. '' I explained that it was for the last year due to the services not getting carried out. He then stated " oh, yes I see that now. We did receive and submit and you were approved for {$0.00} repayment on the income driven plan. I asked for confirmation of this to be sent to me. I then received an email that said the information was received and my request was being processed. On XX/XX/XXXX I received an email saying that the documents had been submitted. I called XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX to inquire on the status to insure that it had been submitted. The customer service agent stated that they had contact from Higher Level Processing who posed as me and requested that my payment be frozen for 2 months, and the request was carried out. No documentation had been submitted. I am now taking actions to terminate with Higher Level Processing and work strictly through XXXX XXXX XXXX to get back on track with my federal student loan program and repayment.

I was approximately contacted by Higher Level Processing Inc. sometime in XXXX XXXX XXXX. I was told that I good pay like {$1500.00} total ( give or take ) and my student loans would be wiped off my credit. I asked SEVERAL times about the credit and the {$1500.00} and was told the same thing every time. I have since stopped my payments as they won't listen to me when I say I want to cancel or discontinue their service as I have found that they are not allowed to do this according to law. I have asked for all my money back and they have refused. I have checked the XXXX and they are NOT accredited and have SEVERAL complaints. I have the email that they sent me on ALL the charges. I am asking for every bit of it to be returned. I am also going to state that they got into my student loan account and changed my password and my address to their address located at the bottom of the email. I also received a TON of emails and texts asking me to update my payment method to continue even though they sent me an email saying that I was so no longer with them. The total amount taken before I stopped payments was : {$1500.00}, all of which I want returned. Any further questions regarding your membership fee of {$35.00}, please call Billing direct line XXXX. I used a 3rd party company, Higher Level Processing to refinance my student loan. This happened through XXXX. Higher Level processing has been deducting fees from my account and failed to pay XXXX causing my account to go delinquent and has now effected my credit to the point that I am not getting approved for my house that I am scheduled to close in in less than a month. XXXX was never able to contact me directly to discuss any late payments as Higher Level set up my information as there office. All emails, postal letters and phone calls went to Higher Level from XXXX and the payments were never made. I have brought my account with XXXX current directly with them, but the credit reporting has not been addressed. I need both Higher Level and XXXX to be responsible for the hit to my credit report and request it be removed from my credit report as Higher Level worked fraudulently to solicit funds from me for a service they failed to provide. Causing my credit report to show inaccurate information. In addition, having the account set up under Higher Levels contact information, address, and emails is an act of identity theft.

I had dropped out of school, and had a balance of a little over $ 11k. So I started working with HLP in XXXX 2018. The deal was for them to consolidate my loans, and I agreed on a 5 year deal, where on the 5th year I would receive total forgiveness. They also promised me that after the first 4 payments of XXXX, that I would begin to see a change in my loans on XXXX. This never happened however ; I recently cancelled in XXXX of this year because the monthly payments weren't affecting my loans at all. I believe I have been lied to. I contacted HLP in XXXX and they told me that I initially agreed on a 20 year deal back in XX/XX/2018!!!! This is not true and is so uncharacteristic of me. I know what I agreed to, and I never would begin payments to pay for more than the loan itself!! My income was low, so I was paying {$19.00} per month, and what they told me was that i agreed to 20 years of paying {$19.00} a month. I was scammed and I demand a refund of more than {$1000.00}. I payed this company.

Higher Level Processes charged me for work that had already been done by my loan servicer and charged for a FREE service. Higher Level Processes charged a fee to recertify my student loans, recalculate a new loan, document preparation, program switch, etc. {$210.00} payable monthly for 6 months and then a {$39.00} annual fee. My loans had already been recalculated by my loan servicer, no charge. I thought that Higher Level Processes was a legitimate company because they already had a lot of information. They may have compromised my loan servicer account or my FSA account

Hello, I got your information on the Federal Student Loan site. I saw information that stated you shouldn't be paying another party for servicing your loan so I clicked and was taken here. I don't think the problem is with the school, it's with the party that contacted me about having my loans transferred to XXXX XXXX from XXXX and then I would pay them a fee of {$29.00} a month. The company is XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX based out of California. Please let me no what I can provide. If this is a scam, I'd like to get out of it. XXXX

XXXX I already filed a complaint earlier back in XXXX with the number above. I was promised a refund from HLP and the company never gave it to me. I called them and they transferred me over to another department and it went into voicemail. I emailed the letter given to me in the response from the previous claim. This company is so bad. I need help making sure that they do their promise to me, and I get my refund.
