I enrolled and availed in the debt consolidation program with the Harbor Legal Group and XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) last XX/XX/XXXX and they started deducting from my checking acct XX/XX/XXXX, initial payment was {$200.00} breakdown of this amount ( {$55.00} goes to savings, $ XXXX-Retainer 's Fee ; {$27.00} Admin Fee ( {$55.00} Mo 1-9 ) ; $ XXXX Service Fee ) and XX/XX/XXXX deduction from my checking acct was {$200.00} same breakdown. Then from XX/XX/XXXX to XXXX/XXXX/XXXX amount deducted from my acct was {$170.00}, then XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX amount deducted was {$190.00}, then from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX amount deducted from my checking acct was {$170.00}. For more than 3 years there were 3 credit card companies only that were settled out of 6 credit card companies that I have a balance with. Upon enrollment in the program I had a Total amount of debt {$21000.00}, they gave me an estimated amount settlements which was {$8800.00}. Service cost percentage was 12 % ; Estimated Total Fees and Settlements was {$14.00}, XXXX. From XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX the total amt deducted from my checking acct was {$12000.00} from this amount the total amount paid to the 3 credit cards was {$4800.00} for that more than 3 yr period. Total amount paid to Harbor/XXXX was {$7700.00}. At present, I still have 3 credit cards unpaid/to be settled, I have no choice so I opted to extend the program so those 3 remaining credit cards be settled. As of now, I still have money with them amounting to {$1300.00}. I was informed that one of my credit card I owed more than 1K only, I suggested to them to settle the credit card with that balance since I have enough with them to pay it off, but I was informed that the negotiator wanted to settle the other credit card first, which I owed more than 5K. I've been following up with them about my suggestion to settle the lesser amount first but I was only informed that they will get in touch with the negotiator to call me. I followed up with them twice already but negotiator hasn't called me yet. This is the reason why I decided to get help from you, because I believe that they are taking advantage from me. In the first few days, weeks and months with my enrollment in the said Consolidator they've been updating me but after 6 months to 1 year they rarely call or update me. This matter makes me anxious, stressful and I had sleepless nights. I wanted to settle all my credit cards or pay all my debts with those Companies. I have the necessary documents that justifies all the numbers that I mentioned in this complaint I can submit it to you when needed.

My debts totaled a bit over {$110000.00} when I entered the program XX/XX/XXXX. The lure of the company ( Harbor Legal Group, or HLG ) was that their program could save me 50 % or more of my debt load. My responsibility was to make regular monthly payments of an amount they calculated, which would pay off my debts at the end of 52 months ( the programs duration ). The 52 monthly paymentspaid without fail month after monthtotaled {$73000.00}. BUT, this {$73000.00} only paid 19 debts that totaled about{$84000.00}, which is about 87 % ( not 50 % ) of those 19 debts and has left me with 8 unpaid debts that total {$33000.00}! The regaining of a decent credit status I was assured the program would bring me at its completion is unrealized and my credit score is as bad as or worse than at its inception. I had a total of 27* creditors when I entered the program. The {$73000.00} I paid has settled 19 debts. Eight debts ( almost a third of the total ) have not been settled ; these eight creditors comprise my remaining indebtedness of {$33000.00}. *Another creditor ( a 28th ) seized money from my bank account to settle my debt with them in full before agreeing to a settlement via HLG. My monthly payments were taken automatically from a personal bank account beginning XX/XX/XXXX. Of the {$73000.00} I paid into the program over 52 months, {$49000.00} went to my creditors. This means that the company itself ( HLG ) netted about {$24000.00} while leaving me with {$33000.00} in unpaid debts. In a phone conversation XX/XX/XXXX with an HLG representative, I was assured that negotiations would be continuing with the remaining eight creditors and the money I had paid into the program ( {$73000.00} ) would cover those 8 remaining debts. HLG had informed me that they have recordings of all calls on file, so this can be readily verified ( assuming the recording is not edited or erased ). However, in subsequent conversations with HLG representatives this past XXXX, XXXX, I was told that these 8 debts that total {$33000.00} were not covered by what I paid into the program and was therefore my remaining burden. The HLG rep. of XX/XX/XXXX had given me misinformation.
