A man first called my employer 's office, purporting to be from a law firm, Harbor Firm Acquisitions. The office manager refused to allow him to speak to me, told him I was not allowed to receive personal calls at work, and then hung up on him. The man then proceeded to call back XXXX times, and to be so harassing, the office manager had to instruct all other personnel in the office not to answer the telephone until he finally ceased calling.
A week later, a woman from Harbor Firm Acquisitions called my personal cellphone from a telephone line that spoofed the telephone number of the local county courthouse, and left a message on my cellphone stating that she was trying to arrange delivery of legal documents in reference to a debt. Rather than giving me a local telephone number to call for information, she then gave me the number of the lawyer 's office - Harbor Firm Acquisitions. I called the court house, rather than the lawyer 's office, and was told that no such person existed at that number, and that no documents were waiting for delivery to me. I have since received no physical paperwork from their office.
This week, the man from Harbor Firm Acquisitions is again calling my cellphone and my work number. He has refused to give me any number other than an XXXX number ( so I can mail or fax a request to cease all communications, except in writing ). I ca n't get a written verification of the debt, to see whether this is something I owe, or is instead part of a debt collection scam.

Hello, Today XXXX XXXX representing Harbor Front Acquisitions, LLC contacted me and also called a relative of mine. XXXX XXXX left threatening messages on both of our voice mails and falsely claimed that he was calling in regards to a file assigned by the state. He also said that I had serious allegations against me. When I called XXXX XXXX back he explained that he was calling on behalf of XXXX XXXX XXXX and stated that they would pursue criminal charges against me if I did not cooperate. I explained to XXXX XXXX that I was unable to discuss this issue over the phone as I was at work and I requested that he send me information in writing. I also explained that I had no way to verify he was who he said he was. XXXX XXXX told me that the next documentation that I would receive would be in the form of a lawsuit.
I believe XXXX XXXX and Harbor Front Acquisitions, LLC violated the FDCPA in several ways:1 ) They contacted a third party and falsely told them that I have accusations from the state against me2 ) XXXX XXXX knowingly misrepresented himself as a state representative3 ) XXXX XXXX threatened me with a lawsuit and/or criminal charges

Harbor Front Aquisitions stated that they were attorneys trying to collect on a payday loan. They also disclosed the debt without verifying they had the correct party. I had lost my job and did not have any money to put anything on file. Told them on second call that I could put something on file but that it would have to be for a month out as I just started a job. They wanted me to call back and put {$100.00} on file. The XXXX representative was very rude and harassing. I felt very worried about how I was being treated. It was the XXXX time I had talked to anyone from there. I did not refuse to pay but they are trying to submit me for legal action. I was told that they were working for attorneys but I have never heard from the office that owns the debt.
