I am writing to dispute and formally request an investigation into an unauthorized hard inquiry that recently appeared on my credit report, as reported by your agency. This inquiry was made without my consent and violates my rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), specifically under 15 U.S.C. 1681b and 15 U.S.C. 1681g.
Details of the unauthorized hard inquiry are as follows : Name of Inquiring Entity : GREENBURG GRANT AND RICHARDS Date of Inquiry : XX/XX/XXXX I have not provided any form of consent, either written or verbal, to GREENBURG GRANT AND RICHARDS or any affiliated entity, to access my credit report or initiate a hard inquiry. This unauthorized inquiry has negatively affected my credit profile and may result in harm to my financial standing.
Under the FCRA, it is explicitly stated that a permissible purpose is required for an entity to access a consumer 's credit report without their consent. I have not initiated any credit applications or transactions with GREENBURG GRANT AND RICHARDS that would warrant a permissible purpose for this hard inquiry. This action is a direct violation of my rights under 15 U.S.C. 1681b.
I kindly request that you conduct a thorough investigation into the legitimacy of this unauthorized hard inquiry and provide me with a written response within the time frame specified by the FCRA. I expect your response to include : Verification of the permissible purpose that allowed GREENBURG GRANT AND RICHARDS to access my credit report without consent.
A complete copy of the information that GREENBURG GRANT AND RICHARDS provided to you as part of this inquiry.
Any correspondence, agreements, or documentation demonstrating that I authorized this inquiry.
Proof of the lawful basis for this inquiry, in accordance with FCRA regulations.
Failure to comply with the FCRA 's requirements or provide a satisfactory resolution within the stipulated time frame may lead to legal action. I am prepared to take legal recourse to protect my rights under federal law.
In accordance with the FCRA, if my dispute is valid and the inquiry is found to be unauthorized, I demand the immediate removal of this unauthorized hard inquiry from my credit report. I also request a revised copy of my credit report reflecting this correction, and {$1000.00} remedy.

XXXX XXXX a rep for GREENBERG , GRANT & RICHARDS INC. located at XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX, TX XXXX contacted me on XX/XX/XXXX about collections with quickbooks over payroll. My company missed payroll in XXXX and XXXX covered it. I had a XXXX XXXX during this time and my mother in law died a few days later. This was no excuse, but I was going through a lot. I had every intent to pay this debt. XXXX XXXX XXXX stated that he worked for a law firm and had been retained to take care of this matter. He implied he was a lawyer, when he is not. He stated that XXXX has a zero tolerance towards payroll and my failing to cover payroll could be construed as intentionally committing fraud which is a felony. He stated to me that he would prefer to get this handled before they " go this route '' but I had to start making payments now. All I had was XXXX which I paid. He wanted another XXXX on a specified date and the remaining amount on another specified date. I am seriously ill. I missed the second payment because receivables had not cleared my business accounts. When the payment was missed, he stated that I had committed multiple felonies with the intent to commit fraud that crossed state lines. I told him that I was trying but having serious health issues and family issues. I paid the XXXX a few days later and was told I could pay the rest at the end of XX/XX/XXXX. A few days later while being with my mother on her death bed ( she died that day ), I was again harassed by XXXX XXXX about payment ( though he already told me I had until the end of XXXX ). On XX/XX/XXXX I paid the debt in full to XXXX XXXX XXXX.
I realize I owed a debt. The tactics though by XXXX XXXX XXXX should be considered illegal. Having a XXXX XXXX, mother in law die, then my own mother dying and then having to endure threats by XXXX XXXX is unacceptable. I have copy of emails that shows the threats. My wife was present when he represented himself as an attorney.
I have 3 master degrees, graduated from XXXX XXXX ( not an attorney ) and I am a former XXXX XXXX. SO I know the laws. I know the actions that he made to try to intimidate me are illegal. Quoting the law and implying he was an attorney could also be construed as practicing law without having a bar card with the state of California. I want a formal investigation done on this individual and appropriate fines against GREENBERG , GRANT & RICHARDS INC.who is vicariously liable for the conduct of their employees.

XXXX, XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, a XXXX, Texas, based debt collection company ( hereinafter " GGR '' ), and their representative/employee, XXXX XXXX XXXX have engaged in a consistent and repeated effort to collect on a claim against me for which I do not owe, and they have direct means of collection. More specifically, GGR 's client claimed to have inadvertently paid my property taxes on a property I own. GGR claims this payment was made as a result of a scrivener 's error. To date, GGR has made absolutely no effort to correct this improper payment from the County Treasurer and allocate the payment to the proper parcel. I contacted the County Treasurer, who confirmed that no requests for reimbursement were made. I confirmed that the Treasurer will immediately issue a refund on account of mistake if asked. I advised the Treasurer that I have no objection to the issuance of a refund on the account if asked. I submitted to GGR and XXXX XXXX a written statement attesting that I had no objection to their refund. I then asked GGR to cease all further communications with me during business hours, as my employment has suffered from the repeated efforts at collection. GGR refuses to seek reimbursement, demands I pay them funds directly without providing any assurances that it will not then simply obtain a refund of the funds from the Treasurer, resulting in double payment to GGR and me being liable for a double payment. GGR continues to call my work number during work hours, and did so on XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX, and I anticipate it will continue calling weekly. GGR has threatened me with legal action and the filing fo a lawsuit on equitable grounds despite its client possessing a readily available legal remedy. XXXX XXXX was flippant about my above concerns, demeaning and unprofessional during my telephone conversation with him.

I am writing to you regarding your debt collection practices towards me. I have become aware that you are an unlicensed debt collector in the state of Maryland, and this is a violation of the law. As a consumer, I have the right to be protected from unlicensed and illegal debt collection practices.
Furthermore, I have previously sent you a cease and desist letter, and yet you have continued to contact me. This is a violation of federal law, as well as the laws of the state of Maryland. I demand that you cease all communication with me immediately, as I have the right to request that you do so.
Your attempts to collect a debt from me have also been harassing and threatening in nature. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ) prohibits debt collectors from engaging in such behavior. On XX/XX/ I noticed a hard inquiry on my credit report that I did not recognize nor did I give anyone permission to pull my credit report. I then called the company XXXX Greenberg , Grant & Richards ) and was told that XXXX XXXX the person I needed to speak with just went to a meeting and it would be XXXX hours before he could contact me. XXXX hour later XXXX called I then ask why his company Greenberg , Grant & Richards was pulling my credit report and he could not give me an reasonable explanation he kept saying his client sent my information to him. He kept saying it was a commercial matter I then ask why he was pulling my PERSONAL credit for a commercial matter. I do not own a business license. I ask him to send me documents with my signature in the mail and he said he could not do that. I want this hard inquiry removed off my credit report as this company Greenberg , Grant & Richards did not have my signature or my permission to pull my credit report! Also at no time during the conversation did XXXX request conformation of identity.

XX/XX/2022, called repeatedly from then on once a day.
Then received a call from a " Private Investigator '' hired by the company to come to my home and assess my assets as well as place of business etc.
I had my attorney call the number back of the " private investigator '' to no answer.
Sent in two certified letters via mail asking for the stop of harassing phone calls and to provide info via mail as to why they are contacting me as well as provided a no trespassing form and letter advising this company that any outside hired associate or any associate was prohibited from stepping any where near my private residence or any place of business. XX/XX/XXXX they have disregarded. They repeatedly call from different ghost /spoof numbers including the " private investigator ''.

I was contacted by greenberg grant and rich about a debt that had nothing to do with me personally. It was associated to a failed business that me and my partner attempted and now they are making false inquiries on my credit and calling me repeatedly after I told them not to. I told them I will contact cfpb and they said that theyre not governed by cfpb.
