This complaint is against XXXX XXXX and Goodman Frost , PLLC.
I never received any form of communications from XXXX XXXX regarding this alleged debt but was informed from XXXX XXXX that they had turned it over to the law firm Goodman Frost , PLLC which is in XXXX, Michigan and I was told by XXXX XXXX to contact them to settle the debt. The first I heard of XXXX XXXX was when I contacted the original creditor to negotiate a settlement of the bill on XX/XX/2018. I was told by XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, the original creditor, to contact them regarding settling the bill. I was served the summons and complaint on XX/XX/2018. The summons was not served in a timely manner. The summons was issued on XX/XX/2018, the complaint was dated XX/XX/2018. My address has been the same for more than 3 years and my phone number has been the same for more than 10 years. When I contacted XXXX XXXX law firm, I spoke to a woman named XXXX. Per my phone conversation with XXXX, I requested a settlement amount of {$260.00}. She stated the firm did not have authorization from their client, XXXX XXXX, to settle. This does not sound truthful since they had been given the right to file a lawsuit against me. She was offended and spoke rudely to me when I asked why a {$530.00} alleged debt was being increased to {$560.00} and accused me of " going around and around '' with her, per our conversation. XXXX finally stated it was a {$35.00} filing fee. I went to XXXX XXXX XXXX 's website, it stated that the filing fee was {$25.00} for suits {$600.00} or less. She said she would send me paperwork to sign stating I would pay {$560.00} in monthly payments of {$47.00}. When I received the paperwork, " Conditional Order of Dismissal, '' on XX/XX/2018, the amount had gone up again to {$590.00}, an increase of {$28.00} and stated in this court document that it this was the agreement between the firm and myself, which is not true. XXXX XXXX is not dealing in reasonably or in good faith with me regarding the payment of this alleged debt. There have been no award of fees of any kind ordered by the court in this matter and at this present time, there is no court date for the lawsuit.
XXXX XXXX did not give me any opportunity to verify the debt, settle the alleged debt, or deny owing the alleged debt. I do have the documentation that I can and will attach it to this complaint.
I believe there has been several violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act because I received no notification from XXXX XXXX and because the amount of the alleged {$530.00} debt is continuing to increase.

I was under a wage garnishment since XXXX XXXX XXXX and I stopped having my wages garnished in XXXX XXXX XXXX I believe. I have a document I retrieved from my employer 's website from the court saying on the bottom " FINAL STATEMENT ON GARNISHMENT OF PERIODIC PAYMENTS '' dated XXXX XXXX XXXX. I figured I was done until I received a letter from a different law firm than the one I started out under in XXXX. I wrote them back saying I believed I was done with this debt. This new law firm, in turn, sent me a document saying that the law firm handling this debt had transferred the case to them. However this document was not dated, it did not contain a signature by the District Judge, and it was not sent to either myself or my employer during the period of the garnishment. I also was told I owed {$98.00} in addition to what they were telling me I supposedly still owed on this debt.

Goodman Frost accessed my consumer report on two different occasions without my authorization violating my consumer rights.
XXXX XXXX of Goodman Frost has used this information to sue me twice without validating the debt.
XXXX XXXX also did not provide proof that XXXX XXXX XXXX of XXXX XXXX Michigan retained his or Goodman Frosts services. Who is the real plantiff?
I spoke with the accounts receivable department at XXXX XXXX and they had sold the debt to a debt collector, and XXXX from XXXX XXXX told me they did not retain XXXX XXXX nor Goodman Frosts services.
It appears to me they pulled my credit report ( unauthorized as a " lender '' ) on a " fishing '' expedition to see what they could find.

I have been having problems with my credit union because they got a garnishment letter from an attorney. The credit union and the attorney both are trying to tell me the letter went through the courts. The court it supposedly was processed through is in a county that I havent lived in in over 5 years. I called the courthouse and they said the only case they have is from XXXX. I called back the attorney and he stated that the courts were looking at the wrong case and that the case was from XXXX. He said I owe them and better find a way to pay it. My credit union keeps telling I need to settle this debt.

I try to make a offer with the credit company and they did not want my offer to close the account. he just told me that I needed to make my brother pay it who is the account holder. I am not the account holder but it is on my credit report. The creditor was asking me to aggravate the account holder about it because it is his account even though it is on both of our credit it was a really uncomfortable situation that I didn't think would go that far.

Found notification from XXXX XX/XX/2022 stating a collection agency, Goodman Frost, conducted a hard-pull on my credit file without a permissible purpose. The type of pull was identified as being related to an " instalment loan or new bank account inquiry.
