I applied for a {$2500.00} loan with an online agency known as XXXX XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I was informed that they had approved my loan and made a deposit into my XXXX XXXX XXXX ( Ending in XXXX ). After returning home, I checked my balances with my bank ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) and to my surprise there was a deposit indeed, BUT the amount was {$25000.00}. I was Completely confused and called XXXX XXXX right away to find out how to fix this issue. I could Not afford a {$25000.00} loan payment AT all. I was told, they were happy to help and the loan payment would be the same amount. I told them, No, Absolutely Not! I did Not want a {$25000.00} loan and they need to take it back. All of it, except the {$2500.00} I had applied for. Now comes the Really confusing and Alarming information, On XX/XX/XXXX, I was, again surprised to see, by checking my account information, after I returned home from work, that the {$25000.00} had been moved from my Home Equity line ( Ending in XXXX ) at XXXX to my checking account ( Ending in XXXX ), by someone at XXXX in XXXX XXXX, Va . I have the proof I was at work, so it wasnt me. Not only was it moved, but it had been transferred to an XXXX bank account in XXXX XXXX! So on XX/XX/XXXX, I reported the activity as Fraudulent/Unauthorized with XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX contacted me to say the check from XXXX XXXX was Fictitious. Now Im in a panic as to what to do. So, I found out where the funds went, contacted XXXX bank which was indeed, located in XXXX XXXX, only to be told in a letter, from XXXX XXXX, that XXXX had requested a call back on the funds on XX/XX/XXXX. The funds Never got transferred to the XXXX XXXX bank! So now what? I contacted XXXX as to what I should do to resolve this issue now. XXXX advised me to immediately file a report with them and all the credit bureaus, social security and Federal Trade Commission ( which I did ) about the Fraud and suspicious activity and I moved on with my life. On XX/XX/XXXX, I receive a letter from a debt collection Law firm ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) representing XXXX that XXXX was taking me to court with a Warrant in Debt suit for the {$25000.00}. After several attempts, we finally make to court on XX/XX/XXXX. Hoping this will be my chance to speak, but No. I wasnt even given a chance to do so, nor was the paper work looked at, which proved I didnt commit this crime. We were advised by the Judge to go in the hall to discuss the issue and a solution, at which time the attorney with XXXX XXXX XXXX stated she felt threated by me and walked away refusing to discuss anything as ordered by the judge and that she would be in touch, which left me clueless and confused. Finally after 9 months on XX/XX/XXXX, I was finally notified about a judgment for {$22000.00} was rendered in favor of XXXX. XXXX had already deducted ( without Permission ) {$2000.00} that was in my checking account ( ending in XXXX ) and closed and charged off the account on XX/XX/XXXX, leaving me with a balance of {$0.00} in my account even before the hearing. XXXX had also frozen my Home Equity Line ( ending in XXXX ) as of XX/XX/XXXX. The account ( ending in XXXX ) has remained closed and inaccessible since that date, although I have been making current payments to it faithfully, I still have no access and XXXX holds my home hostage. I was the victim of fraud and a scam, but now a judgment will loom in my credit report for the next 7 years, how is this fair or right? I was the victim here of Fraud and a scam! But now I must pay for it for the next 7 years? I heard nothing from XXXX or XXXX XXXX XXXX until On XX/XX/XXXX ( 6 years and 1 month later ) I receive a letter from a different collection Law firm ( Glasser & Glasser ) also representing XXXX stating the owed balance is {$31000.00}, but they would accept {$15000.00} by XX/XX/XXXX, as payment in full. So, on XX/XX/XXXX I sent a letter of Dispute and Validation to the Law firm ( with a 30 days to return, time frame ) to be completely filled out with the requested 17 items of proof that the debt was mine, and not out of the Statute of Limitation ( by certified signed return receipt ). On XX/XX/XXXX ( exactly 30 days ), I received a letter from the Law firm that the amount due now was {$31000.00} and no other information. They have refused to answer the letter of Validation as requested nor would they address the Statute of Limitation issue. The checking account ending in XXXX in question was closed and charged off on XX/XX/XXXX. The last activity on the account was on or about XX/XX/XXXX.

Glasser and Glasser , PLC has repeatedly tried to garnish my wages, but I have sent communications to their firm, with the most recent dating back to XXXX of XXXX, informing the firm that I have never received communication, written or verbal, with details on the alleged debt. I informed the firm that should they decide to move forward with debt collection, they are required to provide me with legal debt validation and provided them with details of what this would consist of. This documentation should also include the date of the last payment made on the debt to confirm that this attempt at a collection is even within XXXX statute of limitations. The firm has continuously failed to provide me with any documentation but continues attempts at garnishment. There is no proof that there is a debt owed, or that this a debt that does indeed belong to me. The most recent garnishment summons was received in the mail just a few days prior to XX/XX/XXXX, that was not sent certified to document shipping or receiving dates which would determine if I received sufficient time to respond. The summons has a hearing date of XX/XX/XXXX, but the firm informed my employer that the garnishment will begin on XX/XX/XXXX, all while sending me a letter offering options to resolve the matter dated for XX/XX/XXXX, but the date printed on the postage of the envelope is for XX/XX/XXXX ( see attachments ), giving me an insufficient amount of time to receive the letter and respond to suggestion for a summons. There was no documentation with this summons. There is nothing indicating what type of account this is, what type of debt this is, details regarding the amount being requested, or information regarding the original creditor. On XX/XX/XXXX, I faxed a letter to Glasser and Glasser stating the above and requesting documentation that the alleged debt is valid and does indeed belong to me. On XX/XX/XXXX they mailed ( but was received by me on XX/XX/XXXX ), a staff member in their office mailed me a packet of credit card statements dated from XXXX XXXX XXXX On XX/XX/XXXX I faxed a letter to Glasser and Glasser stating that what they sent did not constitute legal debt validation so they needed to cease garnishment immediately. In that letter I reminded them of what constitute legal debt validation and what they needed to provide me with to move forward. This included : -Complete payment history, the requirement of which has been established via Spears v Brennan 745 N.E.2d 862 ; 2001 Ind. App. LEXIS 509. Agreement that bears the signature of the alleged debtor wherein XXXX agreed to pay the original creditor. Letter of sale or assignment from the original creditor to your company. ( Agreement with your client that grants you the authority to collect on this alleged debt. Coppola v. Arrow Financial Services, 302CV557, 2002 WL 32173704 ( D.Conn., XXXX XXXX, XXXX ) Information relating to the purchase of a bad debt is not proprietary or burdensome. Debtor must phrase their request clearly to obtain : The source of a debt and the amount a bad debt buyer paid for plaintiffs debt, how amount sought was calculated, where in issue a list of reports to credit bureaus, and documents conferring authority on defendant to collect debt. Glasser and Glasser has not provided me with proper debt validation to prove that the debt belongs to me, the debt is valid, they are the owners of the debt and the rightful receivers of the alleged debt owed. Also, aside from not providing any of the above, the statute of limitations on credit card debt for the state of Virginia is three years. The credit card statements sent date the last payment as XX/XX/XXXX. Since the start of this garnishment, Glasser and Glasser has unlawfully taken {$1300.00} from my wages.

I, XXXX XXXX, formerly XXXX XXXX XXXX, received a letter from Glasser and Glasser, P.L.C acknowledging that they are a debt collector. Who were pursuing me for a debt, they say, I, owe to XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX. In this document they stated that no attorney in their office has personally reviewed the particular circumstances of this account. They also reiterated that their office is acting as a debt collector. The due date that I was given to respond was XX/XX/XXXX. However, a Warrant of Debt ( Civil Claim for Money ) was entered at the, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, on, XX/XX/XXXX, against me that listed XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX, as the plaintiff and Glasser and Glasser P.L.C, as their attorney. I appeared in court on, XX/XX/XXXX, to dispute this claim. I spoke with the Glasser and Glasser, P.L.C 's, representative, XXXX XXXX, who was present. To whom, I, made it known that I am disputing this claim due to validation issues. She instantly began to name a list of documents she would send to me for this purpose. To include the bill of sale, bill of particulars, and debt verification letter. I only received a partial bill of particulars. I know this because we went back to court on, XX/XX/XXXX, to set a trail date and the judge ordered a bill of particulars and any other evidence to be disclosed to the court and to me as well. I received a second copy of the partial bill of particulars I had received previously, plus additional bill of particulars that were not previously given. I attempted to contact the attorney at Glasser and Glasser P.L.C, seeking to resolve this matter on two separate occasions. I called the numbers ( XXXX ) XXXX and ( XXXX ) XXXX that was on the documents disclosed to the court and myself by Glasser and Glasser P.L.C approximately on, XX/XX/XXXX. The representative whom answered the phone said, " this is a debt collector any information obtained from you will be used to collect a debt, '' I was confused. I asked to speak with the attorney handling this account. The lady repeated to me that, " this is a debt collector not a law firm ''. I was confused even more. I also called on, XX/XX/XXXX, approximately XXXXXXXX XXXX and spoke with a lady whom again said, " this is a debt collector anything you say will be used to collect a debt, ''. I asked her if XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX hired them to be their attorney for this case and she seemed just as confused as I was. She said no, we are a debt collector. I asked if they had attorneys there and she responded, " we are connected to attorneys but we are not a law firm ''. I contacted XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX, at approximately XXXX XXXX., I, spoke with a man who said, " this account in question is no longer a XXXX XXXX, account and, " we turned it over to Glasser and Glasser to handle ''. I asked him if they sold this account to Glasser and Glasser, and he repeated, " we turned it over to them ''. I asked if they hired Glasser and Glasser, to represent them as attorneys for this case. He replied, " No ''!, " They are a debt collector, not attorneys ''. He also informed me that any issues I may have with this account I must contact Glasser and Glasser. My complaint is that Glasser and Glasser P.L.C, are not abiding by the Fair Debt Collection Practice Act, by misrepresenting themselves as attorneys in order to collect debt. They are misusing the courts to bring up lawsuits as a way to intimidate consumers and or alleged debtors without following the proper process of verification and validation. Which may have caused many to pay or settle their Warrant in Debt accounts outside the court.

In XX/XX/XXXX I received a summons, and my wages were garnished until XXXX. The debts at that time was around {$7500.00} In XXXX I contact Glasser and Glasser and spoke to a representative about setting up a payment plan. She told me to wait until a few days after the court case. In XXXX I attended the court hearing. I was told by the Glasser and Glasser lawyer to contact the representative again after about 5 days. {$1000.00} was garnished in total from XXXX to XXXX. After 5 days I contacted the same representative as before. She stated that the court had not returned the garnishment to Glasser and Glasser yet so we couldn't start a payment plan, and that she would contact me when the funds had cleared. A couple of weeks later I received a voicemail from the representative and for several months I called back and it went straight to voicemail, and I left several. The representative would occasionally call me back and when I would miss the call and call her back right away it would go straight to voicemail. At one point I left a message asking for my case to be moved to someone with better availability due to the difficulty in making contact. Eventually, in XX/XX/XXXX, I went to the Glasser and Glasser website to leave a message there to please have someone contact me so I could pay the debt. I expressed at that time that it seemed as though the company was attempting to ignore me so that they could sue me again. The same representative and I finally made contact on XX/XX/XXXX, and I expressed to her that I would like to pay a lump sum of {$4000.00} on this debt and for an agreement that it would be paid off at that point. She stated that she would push the information up to her supervisors for a decision and I would typically hear back in XXXX hours. At that time I was not notified that my wages were being garnished yet again. On XX/XX/XXXX ( 6 days after requesting the lump sum payment option ) the representative called me, and I was unable to respond, so I called her back on XX/XX/XXXX. She asked me to provide my two most recent bank statements and my two most recent pay stubs. She also notified me that she couldn't process anything because my wages were again being garnished. I expressed that no one had told me the wages were being garnished and that it was the fault of Glasser and Glasser that I was not able to make contact to start a payment plan. I sent her the requested email. On XX/XX/XXXX she contacted me and told me that her supervisors had decided that they would accept {$4000.00} to cancel my garnishment, and that I would still owe the remaining {$2500.00}. I expressed to the representative and I am expressing here that this appears to be an act of extortion. The garnishment is a result of Glasser and Glasser 's repeated failure to respond to my attempts to pay. As they are now asking for {$4000.00} to remove the garnishment that they themselves caused, it appears to be premeditated. {$4000.00} is the number I chose to start negotiations to close the debt and clearly not a standard amount or percentage of any pre-existing agreements to avoid a lawsuit or wage garnishment. I requested by email to speak to the supervisors that the representative referenced. I did not receive a response. I called the representative and was sent to voicemail. It appears to me that Glasser and Glasser has created a situation in which repayment is impossible ( by ignoring all attempts to contact them ) in order to force another lawsuit and extort unreasonable amounts of money for the debtor to avoid garnishment or court.

1. I received notice from the Court delivered by a police officer. The packet contained information claiming that {$21000.00} was owed to XXXX XXXX. Immediately, I wanted to know how they arrived at that amount. This claimed amount was assigned to Glaser & Glaser, a debt collection agency. I was to answer the Plaintiffs complaint. 2. I submitted answers to the Plaintiffs complaint to the court and Law firm on XX/XX/XXXX. 3. I wanted more information as to how the amount claimed was accessed. 1. Immediately, I wanted to know how they arrived at that amount. This claimed amount was assigned to Glaser & Glaser, a debt collection agency. I was to answer the Plaintiffs complaint. XXXX. I submitted answers to the Plaintiffs complaint to the court and Law firm on XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX. I wanted more information as to how the amount claimed was accessed. XXXX. I sent a debt validation request on XX/XX/XXXX. This letter was meant to have XXXX XXXX or Glasser & Glasser send me information regarding the debt and how it came to be over {$21000.00}. Essential for my understanding was a viewing of the account activity. In the validation letter, I asked for copies of the account records from XXXX, which was the date of the opening of the account. This information would give me an overview of the account and how the claim was assessed. This was not an unreasonable request, given the amount. XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a packet from Glasser & Glasser containing the same information as in the packet I received initially. The letter accompanying the material had the following sentence : Pursuant to your prior dispute and for the limited purpose of verifying the above-reference debt, I write to verify that XXXX XXXX claims that {$21000.00} remains due and owing in the above-referenced matter. The Bank claiming that you owe an amount can not be the verification of the amount due without showing that their billing records justify that amount. This is why I asked for a copy of a history of the account activities. 6. Du ring this time, Glasser & Glasser started the process of filing a Motion for a summary judgment, and I still needed to find out if the XXXX claim was correct. How could I do this without the account history? XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I sent a second letter requesting the account formation I requested in my validation letter. I am still waiting for an answer to this second request. G & G thinks that they have given me enough information to verify the debt. They are pushing for arbitration, even though I still need a clearer understanding of the amount charged. XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter saying we would go to Court on XX/XX/XXXX for arbitration, and I still need clarification about the amount involved. This can not be legal. XXXX. I am waiting for a comprehensive history of the XXXX XXXX account, which will be used to verify the amount claimed. 10. Upon receiving the requested documentation, I will review it thoroughly to verify the accuracy and legitimacy of the claimed debt. I may seek professional advice if necessary to ensure a fair assessment. 11. I request that G & G suspend further collection activities until the necessary documentation is provided and the amount claim settled

Glasser & Glasser ( representing XXXX XXXX ) obtained a default judgement against me on XX/XX/XXXX in the amount of {$1500.00}. I learned of this action only when my wages were garnished by my employer ( via a summons delivered directly to the payroll department ) on XX/XX/XXXX, final amount being {$1600.00}, the additional fees for judgement/garnishment. I then filed to have the judgement vacated ( and the funds returned ) on the basis that I was never notified of the preceding court dates ( or the garnishment ) before the judgement was executed. The judge the motion to dismiss the judgement on XX/XX/XXXX and the court sent the funds back promptly to my employer. However, between that time, Glasser & Glasser began sending notices to my employer payroll department misrepresenting the nature and status of my court case with them, alluding to the garnishment potentially being reinstated in the future, although the XXXX XXXX XXXX had sent notification to my employer that the garnishment had been dismissed- and they were to return the funds rightfully to me. My employer was hesitant to return the funds initially because of the inappropriate correspondence that ensued between Glasser & Glasser and my payroll department, even after the case for garnishment was dismissed. The first fraudulent letter ( attached ) was sent from their office ( dated XX/XX/XXXX ), well after it was known that the judgement had been dismissed and the funds were to be returned to me. The letter, which I received via my payroll department, stated that the Court has continued the garnishment to XX/XX/XXXX. This is deliberately false and is being inappropriately communicated to my employer payroll office. I emailed and called Glasser & Glasser directly on XX/XX/XXXX to notify them that this had occurred and they minimally apologized and issued another letter, which also went back to employer payroll department, to supposedly correct the record ( also attached ). Glasser said they had no record of the letter in their system and assured me this would not happen again. However, while still in final negotiations of a settlement agreement with Glasser & Glasser under a court continuance, another letter from Glasser & Glasser is served once again to my payroll department on XX/XX/XXXX ( attached ). I have-and still continue- to request specifically asked that Glasser & Glasser only communicate with me directly and to cease any & all communications with my employer. The letter again alludes to the garnishment being continued, still false and misleading. Again, I called and promptly another letter was issued to my payroll department to try and correct what they say was sent in error ( attached ). These practices are unacceptable and the law firm has been negligent in their efforts to stop these letters from being sent to my employer. I file this complaint to get some relief from this harassment I have endured for over 6 months from this debt collector, beginning with the unlawful judgement and unexplained hasty garnishment. It remains unknown what harm this is caused in my professional relationship with my employer. I certainly hope that these unfair practices will cease for others like me who want to pay their debts without being slandered to their employers in the process.

In XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter from the law firm/collection agency representing XXXX XXXX XXXX regarding my outstanding credit card debt. This letter stated that XXXX XXXX XXXX had agreed to a settlement amount of {$4700.00} that would settle my account if paid by XXXX XXXX, 2016. I called them on XXXX XXXX and made a full payment via a check over the phone of the {$4700.00} and was told that once the funds cleared the bank, my account would be paid in full and closed. The check cleared and the amount of {$4700.00} was issued to Glasser & Glasser on XXXX XXXX. A few days later I received a court issued warrant for a court date in XXXX about the debt. The same day I received a letter of receipt dated XXXX XXXX, 2016 for the settlement of {$4700.00}. A few days later I received another letter of confirmation dated XXXX XXXX that my account would be considered settle in full upon clearance of the funds - which they already had been clear as of XXXX XXXX. After receiving the warrant, I called Glasser and Glasser. At the beginning of the call I am told that I have a balance of {$9500.00}. I tell him, that I paid the settlement on XXXX XXXX and he then says " Yes..I see that is noted ... '' I tell him about getting the warrant and he apologized for the confusion and tells me that the case has been dismissed and later assures me that I will not be receiving anymore conflicting mail and my account is, in fact, settled in full. I called the XXXX Court a few days later to confirm that my case had been dismissed, but it had not yet been dismissed and I still had a standing court date of XXXX XXXX. I asked to be called once the case was dismissed. I have not yet been called as of today, XXXX XXXX. A week later, I receive a letter along with a self-addressed envelope from Glasser & Glasser dated XXXX XXXX, 2016 asking for payment because they had not received it. As of now, I do not know if my account truly as been settled and dismissed. I feel harassed and panicked that I will be charged for more money or worse be jailed if this matter is n't taken care of once and for all. I paid the agreed upon settlement of my debt, I should no longer have to worry about this matter, but Glasser & Glasser continue to harass me with contradicting information and have not done what they say they have done regarding dismissing the court hearing. I called Glasser & Glasser yesterday, XXXX XXXX, but had to leave a message. I have not been called back. I am in fear that this will never go away. I have been out of work for over 2 years, but have been going to school. I have strong prospects for a new job that will be starting soon. I am worried that Glasser & Glasser will continue to come after me and try to garnish my wages for this debt that has already been paid.

I had a conversation in XXXX of XXXX where I contacted Glasser and Glasser after repeated phone calls. On a recorded line I told them I was willing to set up a payment arrangement to resolve the debt. I was told that there was a garnishment action with an upcoming court date in XXXX XXXX, Virginia and that the court date was for the creditor and judge and I was not authorized to attend the court proceeding. I was told the hearing was not for me and was between the creditor and judge. ( There is a recorded phone call of this and notes from this conversation in their date base ). I was told to call back in XXXX of XXXX and set up a payment arrangement. I called back in XXXX of XXXX and left multiple voicemail messages and did not receive a call back. The garnishment suit in XXXX XXXX, Virginia was dismissed. Subsequently. in XXXX of XXXX my account with XXXX XXXX XXXX was garnished for {$2300.00} without me having any notice of legal proceedings against me in XXXX, Virginia. I received no notice of a court proceeding. They have phone records of the XX/XX/XXXX phone call and notes from this conversation. The notes were read back to me on XX/XX/XXXX by a representative XXXX XXXX. When I raised the legal issues with XXXX XXXX, I was placed on a phone call with an attorney XXXX who I spoke to for over an hour. I was told that under the Virginia code that I didn't have to actually receive notice and that my bank account being garnished was " notice enough ''. I raised the issue of this garnishment action violating my due process rights and was told my due process was not violated. When I continued to raise the issue that I would have attended a court hearing in XXXX XXXX, I was told " well this was dismissed '' and it " does not matter. '' My overall point was that I could have resolved this a year ago and not had my bank funds seized as a father of two taking care of XXXX kids. As the call ended, I was told " I am not sweating as much as you think I am. And I hope you are able to have a good day. '' in a very condescending tone. This whole matter could have been resolved 10 months ago, the initial case in XXXX XXXX was dismissed. I was provided legal advice by a representative of Glasser and Glasser not to attend a hearing and had my bank account garnished without justification. Glasser and Glasser is a law firm that specializes in legal matters beyond debt collection as displayed on their web site. They provided me legal advice that has created an adverse impact on me.

In XX/XX/XXXX, bills seemed to pill up, as I was not getting a raise for 3 years now, so I had to do what was best for me and my family. I explained to XXXX my difficulties. In XX/XX/XXXX I explained to XXXX that I could make a payment on XX/XX/XXXX, they agreed to it, but after I made my payment, XXXX repossessed my vehicle on the XXXX. After a few months, XXXX contacted me with the balance due, which I thought was high. A month or two later, XXXX contacted me regarding the XXXX account, we made a settlement for {$8000.00}. I made a payment, then maybe 2-3 months later, XXXX and XXXX called, stating they had the XXXX account. I first took them to be scammers, based off what they were saying and their manner of speaking, but I found out they were working for XXXX. We made a settlement for {$6600.00}, I made bi-weekly payments in the amount of {$150.00}. I received a notice for court, but I did n't understand why, because I was already making payments. The notice stated that my case with XXXX had been dismissed and closed. This is when the payments stopped. I noticed XXXX on my credit report in XX/XX/XXXX. I have been contacting them since to have it removed. It shows XXXX balance due $ XXXX. Attached you will see all I have gone through in trying to pay off this debt and have it removed from my credit report, immediately. XXXX 's collection attorney 's have lied to me, forged my signature, and XXXX is a huge part of this. XXXX and XXXX requested my paystubs and bank statements ( 2 of each ), my monthly budget, and a statement stating why I would like to settle ( {$2000.00} ). I did this twice this month, already. The first time for {$500.00} and the second time {$2000.00}, neither time has XXXX contacted me with an answer. I searched the Better Business Bureau and found similar issues with XXXX XXXX as well as XXXX and XXXX. I also searched your consumer search and found that XXXX was sued for discrimination against XXXX Americans, XXXX, and XXXX XXXX for overcharging on auto loans, as I believe I was in the beginning to have traded an SUV to get a XXXX XXXX. I was never sent a settlement package in that particular case on discrimination. I would like to have this debt deleted on my credit report. This has been a huge burden on me. I have been chasing XXXX, XXXX and XXXX as well as XXXX XXXX XXXX in order to make payment and resolve this matter.

In XX/XX/XXXX I was XXXX XXXX after an eight-year term from the military. After which, I fell into debt with XXXX. Late XX/XX/XXXX the account was sold to XXXX, XXXX XXXXGlasser & Glasser PLC XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, VA XXXX ) and they filed a court case against me with the state of Maryland where an affidavit judgment was entered in their favor because I was never served with the court documents. Nonetheless, early XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter and numerous phone calls on behalf of XXXX from Glasser and Glasser, P.L.C ( XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, VA XXXX ), a collection agency, regarding the debt for approximately {$8000.00}. After numerous calls, we agreed that if I were able to pay {$3000.00}, they would render my account paid in full. On XX/XX/XXXX, I made a payment of {$3000.00}, received a confirmation letter and assumed the case had been closed ( see attached ). Apparently, they never closed, updated or notified XXXX or the credit bureau of my payments. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received another letter from Glasser and Glasser regarding the same debt from XXXX, citing a {$7500.00} balance, noting that they had been " authorized to accept {$3700.00} to resolve your above-referenced account if your funds are received in our offices on or before XXXX, XXXX, XXXX ( see attached ). '' I called immediately to dispute the claim and cite the error. However, the representative told me that they were not mistaken and while the payment had been made, I still owed XXXX ( Glasser and Glasser ) the full amount. After a lengthy back and forth ( three phone calls ), I was told that I would be contacted by someone from their department, which never happened. Much to my dismay, on Friday, XX/XX/XXXX, I received a thick, white, 11x13, envelope from XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, OH XXXX ) which included all of my previous statements ( approx 200+ pages ) with a letter citing the following, " we researched the dispute of liability for the above-referenced account. We found the account and balance to be valid. '' " ... We have forwarded our findings to Attorneys Glasser and Glasser PLC ... '' ( see attached ). Additionally, the following day, Saturday, XX/XX/XXXX, I received a similar package ( Manila envelope 11x13, 200+pages ) with all of my statements from ( XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, VA XXXX ). The cover page indicated that I owed {$7600.00} and " ... that interest is accruing at the rate of 10 % per annum. ''

Glasser and Glasser Inc a debt collector garnished my Social Security XXXX Income directly from my XXXX checking account. I had informed Glasser and Glasser that I was no longer employed due to my health right after it occurred in 2014. They sued me and took me to court on XXXX occasions, even though I never signed the subpoena or was home to receive it. On good faith, I went to both hearings to explain that I was ill and now on XXXX. Glasser and Glasser worked with my bank, XXXX, which per XXXX is " their credit department '' to garnish my checking for {$4300.00} and the same amount in my savings, duplicating the charge. When I contacted Glasser and Glasser to resolve this, they required me to provide proof of my XXXX, which I did within 10 minutes. They did call me back immediately after I sent the information and acknowledged quickly they could not garnish XXXX wages and would " review my account and tell the bank to release the hold ''. I kept pushing to understand if they were refunding me the garnishment and I was provided a legal answer which skirted the real answer. I was told " they would review it ''. Also, disheartening is they new bank account information regarding the charges, way more than the actual XXXX representatives did. How can a debt creditor have knowledge of my bank transactions ( yet also claim to be unaware I was receiving XXXX when it is direct deposited into my account every month )? I even told Glasser and Glasser over a year ago that I was on XXXX and very ill. I was told on the phone today when calling about my garnishment that when they received my proof of XXXX income that " the process of them reviewing the charge and going back to court will take time '', but could n't tell me how long. That {$4500.00} was going to medical treatment I desperately need now. Either way, Glasser and Glasser was negligent and their actions were illegal as they garnished XXXX wages. They also never gave me any chance to offer a good faith payment ( which I had done my best to work with them and stay in contact before I became very ill ) or notification of the garnishment, which ironically I was working to do. All the creditors that I worked with negotiated a settlement. Glasser and Glasser would not and now has decided to go the illegal route.

On XX/XX/XXXX, I applied for a job with Glasser & Glasser P.L.C- I submitted a credit check for employment purposes only. I was offered a job with the company making {$14.00} hr. On XX/XX/XXXX, I sent the background form for Glasser & Glasser P.L.C to only use for employment. After running the background, on XX/XX/XXXX, I was sent a collection notice from Glasser & Glasser P.L.C as a collection notice for XXXX XXXX XXXX, ( that I had at a different address ) sent to the address I applied for the job at Glasser & Glasser P.L.C with. Thirty days later, XXXX XXXX XXXX, from Glasser and Glasser P.L.C mails me, at the address provided for employment, not the alleged debt address, a letter and copies of statements from Capital One, violating the Fair Debt Collection Act 804 subsection C in regards- ( c ) Ceasing communication If a consumer notifies a debt collector in writing that the consumer refuses to pay a debt or that the consumer wishes the debt collector to cease further communication with the consumer, the debt collector shall not communicate further with the consumer with respect to such debt. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received ( again to the address given for employment purposes ) A Warrant in Debt, filed by Glasser & Glasser P.L.C in General District Court of XXXX XXXX, Virginia. Hearing set for XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX. Attempted to settle any alleged debt with the original creditor is referred to the third party collections of Glasser & Glasser P.L.C who illegally obtained this alleged debt in the purpose of offering me a job with them. No other notice was sent to me prior to filing my background report for the purpose of employment. To me this is a ponzi scheme, as the offer for employment was rescinded by Glasser & Glasser P.L.C. I feel this is a illegal way to obtain a alleged debt, by falsely offer employment then take it away when they obtain a debt on your credit report. And violating the Fair Debt Collection Act in so many ways.

Glasser and Glasser PLC of XXXX, Virginia attempted to confiscate my Federal Student loans which were twice the amount that was owed originally. The account doubled in two to three months. This was in XX/XX/XXXX. They won a judgement against me in XX/XX/XXXX by misinforming me why my account originally went to collections. This led to them drawing from my checking account for roughly the amount I told them I would be receiving in financial aid and right when I told them I would begin to receive it. Glasser also set up a date for a settlement that I did not agree to, then sent me a letter saying I missed the payment followed by filling for a judgement. I have n't had any communication from them in three years. When I went to refinance my house in XX/XX/XXXX, they showed up and say that I owe them XXXX XXXX dollars in interest on a loan that was roughly 8900 dollars. Through garnishments, they have collected nearly 11 thousand dollars. The garnishments stopped in XXXX. The damage caused by this company has endured for close to a decade creating health issues and financial hardships. Not to mention physical damage to my house while they were garnishing my wages in the middle of winter and the heat went out. Glasser refuses to negotiate a reasonable settlement and keeps demanding paperwork that no longer exists for my home refinance that is no longer going to happen. It took 3 years for them to provide paperwork related to the account as to why it went to collections. Upon review of the details, it showed that I was charged for a month when I did not have a payment due because of a promotion through the creditor. I pointed this out to Glasser and Glasser and they refused to do anything about it with the exception of one representative that looked into the notes and acknowledged that I was under the promotion when I was charged a payment. They continue to do nothing about it. All I seem to get from them is " Shut up, pay us. ''

Glasser and Glasser , PLC, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, VA XXXX, wrote a letter received XX/XX/XXXX demanding payment on an account ending in XXXX from XXXX XXXX XXXX. Their file number is : XXXX. I wrote a letter dated XX/XX/XXXX disputing this alleged debt and requesting full back up and break down of the alleged debt including any and all signatures of the person that owns this account and signed their agreement for the payment of the interest rate. Glasser and Glasser sent a letter with statements from XX/XX/XXXX-XX/XX/XXXX that showed during that period NO PURCHASES were made but they reflected an amount due with no proof of purchases. Their cover letter stated when the account was opened but no signatures were furnished. I contacted counsel but can not afford to hire counsel for this matter. Upon advisement, I wrote a letter of Failure by Creditor to provide requested information and proof of debt per the Fair Debt Collection practices/Fair Credit Act. I have copies of all these documents. Without serving me or contacting me Glasser and Glasser took a judgment against me and filed a Garnishment. The Garnishment was not posted or served but I found it on the ground at my home. I notified the court and have a hearing XX/XX/XXXX to remove/dismiss this Judgement and Garnishment. Per the Fair Credit Act, Glasser and Glasser should not have taken legal action after failing to provide the requested proof of debt. They have harmed me in such a horrible fashion. I wish to file a complaint have this company charged and fined with any and all areas of breach of law and Consumer harm. Your assistance is much appreciated.

Glasser and Glasser law firm has made it incredibly difficult to resolve my consumer debt. They attempted to take me to court on XX/XX/XXXX, however did not do their diligence in confirming they had the right address. I only found out about it after the court date passed when a former housemate notified me. I have been attempting to reach them several times, however they will not answer the phone. I have waited as long as an hour on hold, only to have the line disconnect. I have submitted XXXX requests via email to have someone contact me regarding the account as I am seeking to resolve the debt. My online portal access shows a {$0.00} balance, however I believe that to be incorrect. The first request was submitted on XXXX and I finally received a call on XX/XX/12 at XXXX. The representative informed me that there was a cease and desist note on my account and I had somehow signed over power of attorney to a debt resolution company. I told her I was familiar with using a debt resolution service, but was not away I would sign away my rights to advocate for myself and handle my own affairs. She would not disclose ANY information to me and seemingly brushed off the concerns. I then submitted another request via their website on XX/XX/12 as I was hoping to figure out what needed to be done to revoke the apparent power of attorney and cease and desist they have on my account. I made some incredibly poor financial choices around the age of XXXX. I am now XXXX XXXX XXXX and want nothing more than to reasonably resolve my debts and take accountability for my past choices. This company is making that nearly impossible.

I had an old debt with a XXXX XXXX Credit Card that was bought by Glasser and Glasser , PLC. I made payment arrangements. I paid what I thought was the full outstanding amount. Glasser and Glasser did not notify me in writing of the intended garnishment. I have called on several occasions as well sent multiple emails requesting an order for signature from Glasser and Glasser to release the funds to satisfy this debt. I have gotten nothing but the run around from this company for the last month stating that they do not have the paperwork from my bank. I keep receiving garnishment requests from a company called Glasser and Glasser in XXXX, Virginia for a total of {$2300.00}. The original judgement they obtained without my knowledge is over 10 years old and past the statue of limitations as indicated by statute 801-251 section c, and I also believe they are in violation of the FDCPA and FCRA. They call me when I have asked them not to, I started blocking numbers on my cell phone. When trying to resolve and explain the issue directly with them, they laughed at me over the phone and told me 'good luck with that, we are reporting it on your credit next ', and hung up the phone. I appeared in court in XX/XX/XXXX, and their attorney present told me to contact them or they will just keep taking me to court but they were going to dismiss the case because the garnishee said they will not pay. I tried to explain the situation then to the attorney but he did not want to listen that he is possibly representing a company that is breaking at least one and possibly three laws and we should just drop this completely. Now, I am request to appear in court again for the same thing in XX/XX/XXXX, under the same garnishee and everything else all over again. I tried to request they provide proof from the original furnisher of the debt they claim I owe and they again told me they do not have to, and will not prove anything to me and they will continue to just take me to court and inconvenience me until I pay them. Their words, not mine.

I was trying to work with XXXX XXXX previously to resolve the debt but due to my work schedule I had them working with my wife after giving permission multiple times and advising them to not contact me directly but her. She tried to make arrangements but the calls were not made to her as scheduled and without the proper follow ups she was unable to make arrangements that were satisfactory. This went to Glasser and Glasser and I got one letter dated XX/XX/2018 that came sometime around the first week of XXXX. I tried to call the number on different occasions and always got a voicemail or busy signal. No calls were ever returned to me. The next thing I see is a notification from the post office that another letter is on the way and when I checked court records they have filed a warrant in debt. ( I am scheduled for notification from the post office due to not getting my mail as scheduled and still do not know if this will actually show up ). I am extremely upset as I was not given proper opportunity to try to work out a settlement and get arrangements in place. I was only contacted the one time. This is not fair and absurd. It is not my fault they have the office number set up to not work or choose to not return calls. Also more than one letter should be sent.

I was on a special repayment program and I completed the terms. I then became unemployed due to no fault of my own and was receiving minimal unemployment payments. I tried to make ends meet, but my mortgage became behind and I had to stop paying on the credit card because my family needed housing and food more. I tried to talk to XXXX and they were unwilling to help me. I could not get in touch with them often as I eventually went back to work and my work hours were the only times they were open. I tried writing to them and no response. They have since sent my account to a collection agency who will not return my calls or respond to my messages. I attempted to contact XXXX because they have filed legal action against me without providing me with any details. XXXX refuses to discuss any details about my account even though they have filed a court case against me. I have called them trying to work out a repayment plan with them for settlement but they refuse to speak to me. I have sent them payments when I had funds available to do so and they failed to report those payments made. Glasser and Glasser agents refuse to return my calls or messages and refuse to offer a reasonable repayment option.

I have had a credit card from XXXX since XXXX. When I wasn't able to work in XXXX, due to a XXXX XXXX, and, not being able to collect any XXXX payment, I fell behind with my bills.Upon reporting my unemployment situation to XXXX, I was offered a payment plan option. I made payments until I wasn't able to continue to. Then my account was charged off for {$1500.00}, in XXXX. I contacted the lender about a potential settlement in early XXXX, I was told that my account was sold to third party. A collection law firm. Then I contacted that law firm, in an attempt to help me get rid of this debt. Instead of offering me an opportunity to settle the account representative who identified herself as XXXX, told that, " Either you pay this debt in full, or we'll sent a request for garnishment to your job ... '' I kept on calling for payment option, every time I called, I'm given a new higher payment amount. I was told that I have accumulating late fees, interests, service charges accrued, being level on me, every single day that the account goes unpaid. And the latest updated charge as of XX/XX/XXXX, and per representative XXXX, the current amount that I owe on the account, is {$170000.00}.

I recently received something in the mail saying that I owed XXXX for a XXXX XXXXXXXX credit that I never knew existed. My concern is not only the fact that this debt does not belong to me and is clearly fraudulent but the simple fact that the first form of communication received concerning its existence was in the form of a court order. This is not the appropriate way to handle a collections case in the state of Virginia. To further argue the validity of this debt, I must call attention to the fact that this debt is made out to a name that I have legally not used since XX/XX/2016. I lived in a shared living space during the time that the creditor alleges I incurred this debt which further questions it's legitimacy. Below, you will find a picture of my identification that outlines my legal name as proof. I demand valid proof that I, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, approved the opening of this line of credit or it is removed from my credit report and no further collection action is taken. I'd like to call attention to the fact that this credit is only showing up as closed on 2 of my credit reports and both show a different close date.

Glasser and Glasser of XXXX, Virginia have come for the debt several times. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX purchases old charge offs from financial services and then sues the individual for garnishment for the entire amount. In this complaint, I've attempted to negotiate. I've attended every court appearance for garnishing wages. I did not know that they went ahead through the court system to extract funds from our joint savings account.and was surprised by our bank that this transaction occurred. I was unaware that they use the XXXX of Virginia court system to garnish old debt as this debt was purchased from another debt collector. As this is a charge off from XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX and off their books, I do question why they tend to use the name of the former institution as plaintiff instead of using the firm 's name as they acquired this debt. It seems disingenuous.

Beginning in XX/XX/2021 I received a notice from Glasser and Glasser LLC, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, claiming to have been hired by XXXX XXXX XXXX to collect a debt of {$4000.00} that I owe them. The account with XXXX XXXX XXXX has been written off as a bad debt and reported to be credit bureau. I contacted BOA regarding this matter and they said they have never heard of this firm. My account was never reported to a collection agency. It was sent directly to the credit bureau once I defaulted. This agency has sent me so much paperwork over the course of time. I've discarded most of it because I thought they had left me alone. I have contacted Glasser and Glasser telling them that if they contacted me again I would file a claim against them. But I see they have resumed the harassment. Apparently, they didn't take me seriously so I'm making good on my promise. I'm telling them again to stop contacting me because I'll not pay them anything. I tried to download a copy of the paperwork they sent but it won't download.

I recently received a Notice of Withholding and a copy of a garnishment summons for a really old debt. When I had previously checked my credit report it said this particular account was closed and written off as a bad debt by the creditor. So as far as I was concerned there was no collections or anything. I had not been contacted regarding this debt and I was not notified of any kind of court proceedings or that a case was filed against me. Upon receipt of this notice of withholding i contacted the law firm who is collecting the debt and they claimed to not even have my phone number on file. How could they have my SS number but not my phone number? According to their records my last communication with them was in 2012. So that 's 4 years where they did not make a single attempt to contact me or notify me and then suddenly my pay check is being garnished. Also I probably did not live in the state where the action was taken against me. Since I have no idea when legal action was taken against me I can not verify that.

Old debt from 2019, that I acknowledge with XXXX XXXX. Made arrangements to pay collection attorney. After several payments on Glasser and Glasser web portal to pay were made. I started receiving letters that payments were declined. This was impossible since I paid from my personal checking account that had funds to cover bills specifically. Called several times, nothing. Pretty much told it was my fault. I called XXXX XXXX XXXX to confirm that it wasn't a problem on my end. They confirmed their was no history on the dates I made payments on Glasser portal even though I had a receipt. Meanwhile the balance is remaining large. They sent settlement letters with higher amounts. I retained a lawyer in hopes of agreeing to a reasonable amount I can afford and was basically told No. I am able to pay no more than {$600.00}, and consider paid in full. With the expectation of updating to this status with ALL 3 credit bureaus. As well as receive documentation of this arrangement. Paid in full at no more than {$600.00}.

I filled chapter XXXX bankruptcy in 2009. The office of Glasser and Glasser in XXXX VA was listed in the bankruptcy and did not dispute the case. My bankruptcy was discharged without any problems. Now 10 years later I discover that the same company has placed a discharged judgement on my home. I have contacted Glasser and Glasser for the last 3 weeks. At first they told me that only the attorney involved could talk to them. The bankruptcy attorney I had in 2009 lost her license and practice after my case was resolved. I have a letter from the Department of Justice with the details. Glasser told me to fax that letter to them and they could then talk to me. I have confirmation that this was received. I called them again and was told at first they couldnt find the letter and then when found they couldnt talk to me. I have been told twice that they would have their attorney call me. No calls yet. I have all my paperwork from 2009. I understand that they could be breaking a bankruptcy law by this harassment.

Original judgement 2014 bought from XXXX by Glasser & Glasser. Garnishments initiated. Continues to re-initiate garnishments during that time making payments made irrelevant. Example : amount owed $ XXXX made $ XXXX re-initiation of garnishments {$7100.00} attorney, {$590.00} judgement, {$93.00} garnishment. The newest garnishment filing is amount due $ XXXX payments made $ XXXX {$680.00} judgment/ {$7100.00} attorney/ {$93.00} garnishment. We are getting garnished {$800.00} a month and the money doesnt even go to paying off the judgment and it never will, it only covers everytime the have to re-apply for garnishment. We have paid well over the amount of the loan at this point. We tried to negotiate a settlement with them and was refinancing our house to get the money but when they found out we were refinancing they would no longer accept the negotiated amount of {$16000.00}.

The account they claim is mine was opened for a XXXX XXXXXXXX account in XXXX when I was XXXX XXXX XXXX. They sent me a letter back showing purchases I didn't make as proof of debt ignoring my age entirely. I did not open an account with XXXX XXXXXXXX when I was XXXX XXXX XXXX & I did not have any income at the time to make the purchases they're claiming I did.

Update on XX/XX/2023 with Glasser and Glasser PLC. They sent a dismissal of a garnishment with XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX without the required judges signature through US mail and fax. XXXX XXXX XXXX will not remove the garnishment for this reason. Glasser and Glasser PLC is retaliating against me and delaying access to my bank account funds. Glasser and Glasser PLC also told a court in XXXX, Virginia that I was provided notice of the debt and hearing, when I was not. This violates my constitutional due process rights.

Yesterday, I received a notice from the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, that an collection agency named Glasser and Glasser had filed a judgment against me for a supposed debt owed to XXXX XXXX. First of all, I have no debt with XXXX XXXX, and I contest the debt. But more importantly, I did not receive a notice of my right to dispute this account, prior to being served this notice. By not receiving a notice of right to dispute, Glasser and Glasser has violated my federal rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

Glasser and Glasser have a pending garnishment in the amount of {$8800.00} for XX/XX/2022. These funds are from a long term disability backpay recently awarded. I have called twice and told there nothing they can do and I just have to wait until XX/XX/2022. I also sent an email on XX/XX/2022 which has not been acknowledged or replied to. In summary Glasser and Glasser have put a hold on my checking account in the amount of {$8800.00}. These are my long term disability benefits.

They said it is XXXX and XXXX Customer Service has no record of that in my name or of hiring this law firm. I believe it is either a scam or a fraud of identity theft. Please help me get rid of this.I have a Federal Trade Commission Report Reference # XXXX on XX/XX/2017.

They have on two occasions filed court paperwork to my parents address and on two occasions sent mail to my parents. They have my address, it has n't changed in nearly five years. I have informed Glasser and Glasser by email and fax of the proper address and asked for payment options to be sent and any other documents and they have yet to do so..

Glasser & Glasser out of XXXXXXXX, VA claims to have served me papers that I have not received. They sent them to the wrong address. Furthermore, it is impossible to reach them by phone to update my information and there is no response from them even though I have left messages and sent emails. I did receive an email response that requested I call but when you call the recording says there is high call volume and to leave a message. Endless loop.
