I 'm seeking help in having my PMI insurance company Genworth Mortgage pay for the lien on a foreclosure that secured the XXXX mortgage on property the original PMI was on. In 2012 I lost my home to an unlawful foreclosure and Genworth Mortgage was my PMI on the loan held by XXXX. The home equity loan for the property was for {$25000.00} and was held by XXXX. My family suffered a financial setback with the lost of my husbands job and XXXX adopted children that suffered with XXXX and prolong hospital stays. My attempts to get a loan modification ran into delays of processing by claims of documents not received by the lender, repeated submitting of personal financial information to secure the modification. We were told that the modification was approved by a representative named XXXX XXXX with Genworth and the file was now with the bank and they would contact us to set up a new payment, which they approved for {$900.00} to {$950.00} permonth from {$1400.00}. We waited and made several calls to both Genworth and XXXX and each referred us to the other for help. This created a delay and we had to start the process over again because now our file was outdated. Now with a new agent from Genworth we were working with a XXXX XXXX and again submitting the same documents. Now XXXX had started a program where you had a representative that was to monitor the account to insure the documents were received on their end. This process was also a delay of certain documents that seem to never reach the bank, my file being lost and so on. The many delays in securing a loan modification made it harder to get help because the bank continued the process of foreclosing on your property while claiming they were attempting to work with us and just ignore the letters and notifications of foreclosure. We were being set up to fail because we were holding on to faith and the words of Genworth that yes we did qualified for a loan modification and that XXXX had our documents however the foreclosure was being pursued by XXXX and XXXX aggressively. In the end I lost my home to foreclosure and XXXX and XXXX were both bailed out by the government, the taxpayers, so they did not lose. XXXX sold my home for {$70000.00} and again there was a gain by the sale. Now lets talk Genworth, my PMI, their job was to protect the lender, all of the lenders regarding the home : XXXX, XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX from a lost. I paid this payment each month with my house payment and it remained as part of the payment each month until they foreclosed on the loan. With this insurance why was Gateway not paid for the {$25000.00} which held a Home Equity lien on the home. They instead for reason truly unknown were allowed to remove the lien from the property, dropping the collateral held, the home and now hold an unsecured Home Equity Loan or a second mortgage but out of the ordinary, there is not a home to secure the loan. How is it that Genworth did not protect the lender from default or myself from owing the {$25000.00} that the insurance is set up to do? How was this lien removed from the property and why? The behind the scene manipulation of the removal of home equity lien from the property during the foreclosure has now allowed Genworth to walk away from their purpose of insuring the credit union protection of default by myself the customer should it happen. This remains a negative on my credit and Genworth would not speak to me because my home was foreclosed on. I need answers and help in having Genworth take the responsibility of securing the debt and having it removed from my credit.

I received notification that the company Genworth which is ( was ) my life insurance company and is named in this complaint was having problems paying out their claims upon claims and suggested that I go elsewhere for my insurance needs. Mind you I have had insurance with this company for the better part of 20 years without issue. I attempted to call them to speak to them about the info that I received in addition to things I have found out in my research and on their own website. Turns out all social media was reflecting the same information and even on Genworth 's website stated, " due to the claims that have been paid out in the past years they were no longer offering life insurance and could no longer meet their obligations of paying claims. Clearly stating that " if you have life insurance with Genworth you are to go elsewhere for your life policy needs ''. At that moment I then decided to cancel my policy upon their instructions. It is NO FAULT of mine that they are unable to handle accounts and pay out claims. At which time since I am being forced to cancel and go elsewhere, I requested a full refund for all of my premiums since I started over 20 years ago. I then receive a letter from a senior resolution specialist, XXXX XXXX, which I have attached the letter, that stated since I canceled my policy they would NOT be able to refund my premiums. THEY ARE THE ONES GIVING INFO OUT FOR ALL CUSTOMERS TO GO ELSEWHERE AS THEY CAN NOT PAY CLAIMS. I had no intentions of going anywhere until they stated that they are having funding problems and are not able to pay out claims due to their inability to handle business in an ethical manner. So their take is, " due to our bad accounting practices we ask that you go elsewhere for your life insurance needs and oh, by the way, we are keeping the premium payments that you have paid faithfully for the last 20 plus years. REALLY???? Is this even legal? I will also be making a claim with the FTC, the XXXX and the State, and local authorities. This is clearly unconstitutional. If you are no longer able to provide a service to a long time customer and request them to go elsewhere due to your " Genworth 's '' bad business and accounting practices then at least give the customers their premiums back that they paid in faithfully without fail. I pay on a policy for over 20 years and then told to go elsewhere and you get to make the call to keep my money??

I received a letter, dated XX/XX/2017, from a company called Genworth Financial that it was updating a request to change my address, along with a " new schedule of benefits reflecting this change, '' which I was told to file with my " certificate. '' The letter includes an XXXX-number to call ( XXXX ) if I " have any questions about ( my ) XXXX XXXX coverage. '' The letter is not signed by anyone, just " Sincerely, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX '' and gives a coverage ID number ( XXXX ), that is allegedly my account number. The cover letter also has the Word document path info in the lower corner that you may see on business internal documents, but seems strange on a letter from a legitimate company to a customer. The second page of the letter has a simple listing two columns with " Covered Services '' and " Benefits '' which includes, for example, " Type II Covered Services : Nursing Home Facility, 100 % Most Common Charge not to exceed {$260.00} per day '' and so forth for assisted living facilities, home care, adult day care, respite care services. This page concludes with listing a " total lifetime benefit '' of {$7800.00}. Here 's my issue : I NEVER opened any type of account nor have ever done business with Genworth Financial that I know of. This letter appears to be a disguised marketing ploy that could be very confusing, as it makes it appear you already have an account with Genworth. As mentioned above, the only way to contact the company and find out what is going on is to call the XXXX number. I have not called the number, just do n't have the time for this and do not want to make contact and receive more of the same from them. It clearly appears to be targeting senior citizens, considering the " benefits '' for nursing homes and the like. I turn XXXX soon, and have a husband who is at retirement age, so maybe that is why I was targeted? I have worked for both the XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX regarding XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX, and even after years of experience XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX, I was still confused about this one. It really left me scratching my head trying to figure out when/if I had signed up for something with Genworth, if it was some job benefit I had forgotten about or something. Thank you for your help.
