I am refinancing my mortgage with my mortgage banker. ( Same person who did my original mortgage. ) Since my credit was pulled, I am getting a lot of mailings with refinancing offers which is expected. I received the attached in the mail, and was almost tricked into thinking these were from my original mortgage banker XXXX XXXX XXXX. Due to the confusion, I went out of my way to call XXXX XXXX XXXX and ask them about this.
I looked up some of the regulations, and found that this was not supposed to be happening.
Regulation N defines mortgage credit product as any form of credit that is secured by real property or a dwelling and that is offered or extended to a consumer primarily for personal, family, or household purposes. For a mortgage credit product, the regulation prohibits certain material representations in any commercial communication about any term of a mortgage credit product, including : The association of the provider of the mortgage credit product with any other person or program ; I am hoping something will be done to limit this type of marketing in the future.

I am in the process of refinancing a current XXXX XXXX home mortgage with a company called Forthright Funding ( mortgage broker ). They are located in XXXX. I live in XXXX XXXX. I am refinancing to eliminate the PMI. Forthright had the most favorable terms. I sat with a notary signing the papers and the fees had increased by almost {$1600.00}. I contacted Forthright and the told me {$600.00} was extension fees by XXXX ( lender ) This was never disclosed to me. In addition the employee of Forthright did not disclose a {$900.00} fee for underwriting. The employee admitted he failed to include in my estimate. I spoke the the President of Forthright and over several calls he told me he was sorry but they were not going to do anything. He stated he had discussed with his attorneys and they did nothing wrong.
I want them to stand by their initial fee proposal. The extensions were not because I failed to comply. They also are telling me that XXXX had notified me if the extension fees. They did not.

First I received mailings from these people saying they would get me a 30 year mortgage at a rate of 3.25 % and skip XXXX mortgage payments, no out of pocket costs and my new payment would be {$1000.00}. Upon calling XXXX XXXX told me the best he could get me without out of pocket costs would be 3.75 %. and my monthly payments would be {$1600.00}. Also a return of my current escrow balance. As you can see this is nowhere near what was sent to me in the mailing. He called me back several times trying to sell me on this. I told him I wanted to see it in writing and I know that is required to be sent after 3 days of receiving a quote which is what was done over the phone. This was XX/XX/XXXX that I requested this. The last conversation with XXXX he got real rude with me to the point when I told him I wanted to see it in writing that I hung up as this is poor business practice. He told me sending me a quote was a waist of his time. I told him it was required by law.

In XXXX of 2015 I was offered a streamline reference opportunity by XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX from Forthright Founding on the first conversation and multiple conversations during this process I was reassured multiple times on a recorded phone line that there would be no out of pocket expenses to myself. On XXXX/XXXX/15 I was contacted by XXXX XXXX to go to my bank and wire {$830.00} to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX witch was the cost to close and if I did n't get to the bank and do it immediately the streamline would not close that month. After filling a compliant against Forthright Founding I was contacted by XXXX XXXX who has confirmed the {$830.00} was cash to close and I was simply given a better deal for paying the cash to close, however this was a bait and switch by Fourthright Founding. I was baited by being told there would be absolutely no out of cost expenses then called and rushed at the last minute to wire {$830.00} to XXXX XXXX XXXX immediately.

We have repeatedly received letters in the mail from Forthright Funding, trying to get us to re-finance our VA home loan. We know it is most likely a scam, and too good to be true, plus our current rate is already lower than what they are offering anyways. I have requested multiple times to be removed from mailing lists and they just hang up the phone on me. I have also filed a complaint with the BBB and they still send us mail.
Reference Number : XXXX This needs to stop, and veterans need to stop being targeted. It 's disgusting and embarrassing.
Integrity, respect, service are their motto, but they are trying to rob veterans.

Forthright Funding continues to practice predatory lending against vulnerable veterans in order to lure them into a VA loan that doesn't serve the customer but the business itself. Despite of requesting a removal from their mailing list, I continue to receive " URGENT VETERANS AFFAIR INFORMATION '' mails which contents do not back up their claim nor endorsed by Department of Veterans Affairs.
