I would like to file a complaint against XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, as I believe they breached my fiduciary responsibility to uphold the terms and conditions of the bank. Here is what happened : Thursday, XX/XX/2018 at approximately XXXX XXXX, I walked into the branch at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, IL XXXX, and spoke to a personal banker by the name of XXXX XXXX. I sat down at her desk at the bank, and started to explain that my Dad was diagnosed with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, he had banked here for as long as I could remember, my Dad had given me Power of Attorney Finance, and I would like to inspect his finances at this time. XXXX asked me to provide a copy of the Power of Attorney form, which I gladly provided. She then asked for an e-mail copy of such form, which I provided while I was sitting at her desk explaining the circumstances. Please see both the Power of Attorney for " Dad 's '' Document which I am enclosing for your perusal. At that time, XXXX XXXX asked me for the name of my Dad, which I told her ( name withheld ) and also presented a checking account book with both checks and checking register from XXXX XXXX, as well as 2 passbooks with the brand names of XXXX XXXX ( which was acquired by First Midwest Bank ), First Midwest Bank ( this passbook had the same account number as one of the XXXX XXXX Passbooks ). When the person offered me her card, I declined, stating Dad had 2 of her cards enclosed with the passbooks. She looked at them, handed them back to me, and agreed these were indeed hers. St the same time, I explained that I believe my Dad was the victim of serious elder abuse by a caretaker who entered his life, and wanted to stop any potential damage. I proceeded to explain in detail what had been occurring at the house to allow me to come to this conclusion. At this point in time, I burst into tears due to the serious XXXX condition of my Dad, and XXXX XXXX offered to walk me to the bathroom near the safe deposit boxes at the bank so I could get some tissues. When we walked back to her desk, another personal banker, XXXX XXXX, came to XXXX XXXX desk. I showed both pictures of my Dad in his bed, with his XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. Both people sympathized with me regarding his condition. At this time, XXXX XXXX stated she would need to submit the documents to someone at the banks legal department, as the Power of Attorney needed to be approved. I stated I completely understood. When I asked for a timeframe, I was told she did not know, and someone would contact me. No time frame was ever offered. The next day, Friday, at approximately XXXX XXXX, I walked back into the branch, and asked for a Supervisor inn Charge. I was told XXXX would be with me in 10 minutes, and please have a seat. I explained I did not have 10 minutes, I would like to speak to the Supervisor NOW, and this person did come out from behind the office near the drive through. I explained I would like to have a private conversation, and XXXX the Teller Supervisor walked me into a glass walled room. I explained the situation that my Dad was XXXX, expected to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXno one really knew, and time was of the essence. At that point, she explained that she is ONLY a Supervisor at the bank, this was totally out of her control, and it had to go through the Legal Department. No card was given. No time frame was given. No help was offered. I begged and pleaded with her, stating my Dad was the victim of elder abuse, and I needed her help. She stated the Power of Attorney had been submitted to the banks legal department, and someone would be in touch, although she could not give a time frame or estimate, as she was not the legal department. Again I had all buy passbooks and checkbook with me. I was refused service. XXXX XXXX stated Look, you arent even listed on the account. Your moms name was removed, and another woman has joint custody of the account. Its at legal. I cant help you. When I mentioned the name of the elder abuser, XXXX XXXX XXXX, of XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX IL XXXX XXXX XXXX said Yes, thats who is on the account as Joint Owner. We cant help you. Its at legal. XXXX XXXX looked at me from her desk, and clearly stated We are just protecting your Dads account. I replied I still needed help. I feel that the branch illegally disclose details on the account of who was listed on the account, yet cant honor my Power of Attorney. I dont see how they can provide this service. On one hand, they wont help me/disclose details, and on the other hand, they indeed did disclose details. My Dads condition had become worse by the minute. On Saturday evening, there was an issue with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, and was rushed via ambulance to XXXX XXXX in XXXX, Illinois. Monday morning, at approximately XXXX, I called the toll free number listed for customer care. I spoke to a girl on the phone, and explained the situation. She asked for Dads social security number. I responded with it. I also provided complete details as to why I was calling : I had a legal power of attorney, and the right to inspect his financial dealings, and try to prevent the fraud from happening. I was told she would document it all, then if I would please call back closer to XXXX XXXX I could speak to a senior Vice President of the Bank for assistance if that was indeed what I wanted. This person on the other end of the line explained that all the senior officers dont usually come in until around XXXX XXXX. Here is the website from First Midwest explaining the same type of crime I am suspecting against my Dad from his caretaker : https : //www.firstmidwest.comXXXXXXXX At approximately XXXX XXXX, I once again called in on the customer care line provided on First Midwests website. I asked to speak to the Chairman of the Board : XXXX XXXX XXXX. I was placed on hold, a few minutes later, I was advised he was not in. During the same phone call, I then asked for XXXX XXXX XXXX, the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Bank. Again was told he was not in after a lengthy hold on the phone. I asked for XXXX XXXX XXXX, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. Again was placed on hold, and this time advised she would be with me in a minute. Several minutes later, I was taken off hold, and was told she would refer me to XXXX XXXX XXXX, the Executive Vice President and Director of Strategic Planning and Consumer Banking. Again, I was advised by the clerk on the other end of the line he would be right with me. A few minu8tes later, he never came to the phone, and the clerk referred me to XXXX who was in charge of Customer Care at the branches. She had me on hold 8 minutes and 9 seconds, and finally came back on the line. I asked for her direct dial number, and was given the phone number of XXXX. She said the matter was at Legal and they would get back to me. Then disconnected the line. At XXXX XXXX, I called again into Customer Care. I was told within 5 minutes, someone by the name of XXXX would call me from the phone number XXXX. At XXXX XXXX, again no one had called. So I made another call into Customer Care. Again, no response from the bank. Monday afternoon, I went back to First Midwest Bank, and spoke to Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX was willing to speak with me in her glass-walled office, and explained that no one at the branch had the authorization to speak with me about this matter, as it was in the banks Legal Department. There was simply nothing they could do. I pleaded again for help, and was refused service. She also stated a fraud alert was placed on the account, which was set to expire Thursday, which was mandated from their Legal Department. I went home, and pulled a copy of the banks website page entitled https : //www.firstmidwest.comXXXX '' What the bank publishes, and my experience with the bank are like night and day. They need to practice what they preach. I called back into he customer account number, identified myself, the reason for my call, my dads social security number, and was advised a fraud alert had been placed on the account set to expire on Thursday. That was the only details they can tell me. I would like to file a complaint please, as I dont feel the bank upheld their fiduciary responsibility to a client. I have a legal Power of Attorney while Dad was living. This bank refunded to honor that, yet disclosed who was on the account/not on the account to my face in person at the branch at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, IL XXXX. Dad has since XXXX, on Sunday, XXXX XX/XX/2018 at XXXX XXXX. I man the executor of the estate. I believe Dad has a safe deposit box, ( while my dad was living, he stated while he had the box, he pulled all the contents, and advised me where to look for the information. I did so, and found exactly what he told me to look for. However, I would like to insect the box. I believe due to the alleged fraud taking place at your bank, there will be nothing in the dafe deposit box, and any and all bank accounts listed if still opened with a {$0.00} balance. I would like to pursue legal action against the bank for failing to honor a Power of Attorney, for Bank Fraud, and for overall poor customer service. Please tell me how to proceed with legal action against this bank. I dont believe ANY FAMILY should go through the nightmare of working with or banking at this bank. Please tell me what to do next.

Around XX/XX/2020 my wife and I contacted First Midwest bank about getting a mortgage for a new home we were purchasing. We were assigned to a loan officer named XXXX XXXX XXXX # XXXX. We started the process and things were going alright for the most part however a few times I questioned numbers and such that he sent us and he was very condescending in his responses and told me that oh its an error or something like that and it was no big deal. However when your getting a mortgage you want the numbers to be correct because they could have big implications down the road. Around XX/XX/2020 XXXX reached out to me about concerns that underwriting had in regards to pay protection money that was on my wifes paycheck, I responded that it wasn't a big deal and her job was steady and was paying for any shifts that she had cancelled. My wife went to work that night and was told in a meeting that she should expect shifts to be cancelled and also pay raises and bonuses to be cancelled. Around that same time my company announced that they would be making some cuts in my department soon but they had not decided who yet. So on XX/XX/2020 I sent an email to XXXX explaining that after my wifes meeting and the meeting at my job that we had some concerns about our income going forward. He responded that he thought I should talk to the Realtor selling the home, which was confusing because it had nothing to do with them. However being a XXXX myself I had let the sellers know of the change in our situation so that they would be prepared if the loan did not go through. I also was told from the sellers Realtor that XXXX had told them I was qualified for the loan and that there was no reason that i could not by the house. At some point XXXX called me and we had a conversation where basically he told me that we were qualified as it stands today and he did not want to get the loan denied so he refused to send my email about our job situation to the underwriters. I explained that he could not do that as that is material information when it comes to us getting a loan and that we did not feel comfortable not disclosing that information. I asked him how we proceed forward in this situation since we didn't feel comfortable not disclosing this information and he refused to send the information on to the bank. XXXX sent me an email that said he didn't know what to do and needed a day to figure it out because " ... I am in uncharted territory here. Not sure bank even has a policy for this yet? '' I wasn't sure what he meant because this didn't seem like a unique situation to me. The next day he called me and told me that he would agree to pass along my email on the updated job situations if I paid them {$550.00} for the appraisal costs. I felt this was not right and told them that it was essentially extortion and I had no responsibility for their costs associated with this loan because i didn't qualify to get the loan. Basically it was pay the money or I was screwed, so i had no choice but to pay. Once I paid, XXXX told me that he would pass on my email which would get my loan denied and I would have letter by the end of the week to pass on to the sellers to get the contract cancelled and earnest money released. I made the payment to them on XX/XX/XXXX and was told that I would receive the denial by XXXX XX/XX/XXXX. I never received anything so I followed up on XX/XX/XXXX with no response and again on XX/XX/XXXX when I finally got a response that he did what he said and it was out of his hands now. I ended up contacting the Bank and speaking with XXXX XXXX who is 2 levels above XXXX I believe I expressed my concern and he said that my loan was denied and the letter should come soon and he would follow up with me the next day, I never heard from him again. I eventually received the denial letter on XX/XX/XXXX. Throughout this whole process XXXX was condescending, unethical and unprofessional. I believe that it was unethical and illegal for him to withhold the information about our jobs in order for him to get the loan closed. His line of communication was his cell phone I believe which is problematic because i'm not sure if those calls are recorded which I believe allows him to act how he does. My wife has continued to have her hours cut by 2/3rds weekly and we have seen a large impact to our income, so I am glad that we raised the concern and did not let him bully us into the loan.

First Midwest Bank in XXXX XXXX Illinois stated that it is normal if an ACH withdrawl goes through several times with no way of stopping it in time for them to charge XXXX dollars each time! How can this be legal? I tried to stop the ach withdrawls as these were just set up and I could not stop it in time and they are still charging. So banks can go ahead and legally rob a person? This is robbery and of course they say it is a process! But they purposely put the account in negative! I made a deposit of XXXX and they charged XXXXx13 how can this be legal! They can even initiate these withdrawls themselves the consumer has no way of knowing this - they can run this in batch on purpose and they can keep on withdrawing. I called my life insurance and the illinois depart of revenue and my insurance and they stated they only put this through one time! I want to see their batch processing at First Midwest and the intitiator then I want to go back to those companies and see their batch intitiators! This is a hoax and a flaw in the system so they can make money and a he said she said game! We have no control over this and I called the customer service line and the answer was yes we can charge as many times as we want 5 times each day! And of course they made sure to do that! Wow what a great government that allows banks to do this! Yes I want this published about this bank! And there is no way of getting around this once set up but closing the account! I got a call from XXXX XXXX, Branch Manager at 1st Midwest XXXX in XXXX informing me that he is closing out all of my accounts with no logical explanation. My husband and I are senior citizens and have been banking with 1st Midwest XXXX for over 20 years. We have automatic deposits in that bank and lots of money and investment accounts as well saved there. I believe that XXXX and his boss XXXX XXXX are retaliating against me because I filed a complaint due to the poor customer service I was receiving from XXXX and a teller supervisor on XX/XX/XXXX. I reported them as I should have. I spoke to XXXX XXXX this afternoon and his logic for cutting ties with me was very confusing, 1. because " he feels that I'm not happy ''. How would he know? 2. He heard that I called 1st Midwest XXXX racist. I did not. I just asked XXXX when is he going to start hiring people that look like me? He retorted. " They don't apply. '' 3. XXXX XXXX also expressed concern that the bank discriminated against me over an unsecured loan I applied for a loan 3 years ago. It was denied because I was one point off the banks ' standards. When I inquired about my relationship with the bank XXXX still turned me down. So I took out a secured loan. 4. XXXX XXXX finally stated to me that the bank doesn't need an excuse for closing out all of my accounts while causing me and my husband tremendous inconvenience and more pain and suffering. Over the years I have had great relationships with most of the bankers at 1st midwest even those that have left. I have pictures at the retirement party of one banker, never had a problem. It's just XXXX and his " special group interest group '' ( 2 women and XXXX XXXX ) that seems to discriminate against XXXX and senior citizens. Why would XXXX XXXX bring up race and use it as a weapon to close out my accounts? XXXX XXXX, I thought, had a close relationship with me and my husband, he knows that we are both XXXX survivors and my husband had XXXX XXXX within this past year. This is a prime example of poor customer service and taking advantage of senior citizens! What he is doing is retaliatory and is going to cause us a great deal of inconvenience and pain and suffering. In closing, one thing I know for sure is that XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX, representatives of 1st Midwest XXXX, are trying to deny me my " freedom of speech '' by retaliating against me for reporting poor customer service while throwing everything but the kitchen sink to justify their unprofessional behavior. This is/should be unacceptable in any community in the United States of America. XXXX is a diverse and friendly community our motto is " A Place To Grow. '' as a 30-year resident here I'm accustomed to good, friendly, honest customer service.

I applied for a First Midwest Easy checking account on XX/XX/XXXX. I signed up under an ongoing {$250.00} promotional offer as well at this time. The requirements to satisfy in order to receive the {$250.00} promotional bonus amount included the following : - Open checking account with {$100.00} minimum deposit by close of business on XX/XX/XXXX - Make deposits totaling {$2500.00} or more within 60 days of account opening - Make 10 debit card transactions within 60 days of account opening - Enroll in mobile banking and e-statements within 60 days of account opening I successfully met all of the above requirements XX/XX/XXXX, as that is the date where I had {$2500.00} of cumulative deposits completed. I completed the 10 debit card transactions and enrollments prior to XX/XX/XXXX. The terms of the promotion further stated that once 'all requirements have been met, {$250.00} bonus will be issued as a credit to the account within 30 calendar days of the transactions being verified, following the 90 day period from opening. ' 90 days from my account opening date was XX/XX/XXXX and 30 days on top of that was XX/XX/XXXX. Both of those dates have passed and I have still not been credited the {$250.00} promotional bonus amount. I sent a secure message on XX/XX/XXXX within my online banking account asking for a status update on the {$250.00} being issued to me. I was provided a response by XXXX that she anticipated I would receive this in XX/XX/XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX came and went and no {$250.00} was credited to me so I messaged again on XX/XX/XXXX asking for an update. I was then told by XXXX that 'I was not setup for mobile banking ' and therefore did not qualify for the bonus. This is not correct as I had logged in numerous times into my First Midwest checking account from a mobile phone. Furthermore, I find it deceptive and unfair that this same representative told me to expect the {$250.00} promotional bonus in XX/XX/XXXX, only to tell me a month later after I had to be the one to follow up, that I now do not meet a requirement to earn this promotional bonus. First Midwest Bank is now currently saying I am not eligible for this promotion and I find this unacceptable from a customer standpoint. I fulfilled the requirements of the promotion and deserve to receive the {$250.00} bonus amount. This institution should uphold their word and honor the terms of the offer to me. To reiterate, as a checking account customer of First Midwest Bank since XX/XX/XXXX, I have fulfilled all of the requirements of the promotional offer that I signed up during, and as of XX/XX/XXXX, I still have not been properly issued my {$250.00} promotional bonus by First Midwest Bank.

On the afternoon of XX/XX/19, I attempted to transfer {$300.00} through the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. The funds were to be sent were to be withdrawn from First Midwest Bank. When attempting to submit the transfer to a third party recipient, I received an error message from XXXX that transaction failed and that I could try again to submit the transaction. In the past, I had received this same error message and was able to complete the transfer. Due to my past experience with this type of failed transaction, I attempted 3 additional times within a span of 2 hours. I never received a notification from XXXX that any of the transaction ( s ) were successful. The next morning when I went into my online bank account application there were 4 transaction of {$300.00} each that had been deducted from my bank account. I then checked with the 3rd party intended recipient and they had not received any of the funds or had received a notification from XXXX that there was a pending deposit ready for them. I attempted to Contact XXXX on XX/XX/19 and was only given computer automated responses. However, after many attempts over several days I was informed that the XXXX company was only a transfer service and that the transaction is actually bank to bank transfers. On one of the calls to XXXX, XXXX verified that all 4 transactions failed. XXXX said that if money was not accepted it would be returned to the sending bank after 14 calendar days. During the same timeframe I had been attempting to contact XXXX, I was in contact with an associate, XXXX from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to see what could be done from their side. Assuming the worst and worrying that there was some sort of fraudulent activity being done through XXXX, the bank destroyed the debit card and provided me with a new debit card. I was instructed to fill out a formal dispute to determine the error and the disputed POS transactions. It was determined that there was no error on their part and since I admittedly authorized the transaction with XXXX. However, when authorizing the transactions with XXXX, I was under the assumption that no money was being removed from my account when the transactions had failed each time. It seems that neither party wants to assume any responsibility for this issue as they are both pointing fingers at each other. In the meantime I am wondering where this {$1200.00} is and why it has not been returned to me.

First Midwest Bank is a predator for poor people. I am constantly charged excessive overdraft fees even when my account is not in the negative. I estimate about {$500.00} a month in over drafts and extended over draft fees each month from this bank. In the month of XXXX I deposited a total of {$5500.00}. I spent a total of {$4100.00} and I paid a total of {$490.00} in overdraft fees. XX/XX/2018 I received a direct deposit for {$920.00} and received an Overdraft fee of {$32.00} the same day. XX/XX/2018 the day of my direct deposit I got an over draft fee the same day for {$36.00}. On XX/XX/2018 I reviewed a direct deposit payment of {$1800.00} I made purchases of {$180.00}, {$12.00}, {$1500.00}, {$3.00}. and the next charge that exact same day is a CONTINUOUS OVER FRAFT FEE FOR {$32.00}. On XX/XX/2018 I has a direct deposit go in for {$1800.00}. My account was not in the negative however the following day I was still charged an overdraft fee. On XX/XX/2018 I deposited cash to cover a check that had not yet cleared my cash was held the for days and I was again charged an overdraft fee even though I provided funds to cover it. If you deposit cash in a branch or at the ATM it is held like a check. This bank does not trust CASH. No transaction is ever declined. They will except any transaction rather you are in the red or not in order to charge more fees. There are virtually no ATMs for this bank except for the branches so you are charged fees from both First Midwest and the ATM service to access any cash. I have been charged as many as 5 overdraft fees in one day. You don't even get until the end of business to cover a transaction if it posts early. I get charged a fee before a transaction is even cleared. Almost half of my income is going to overdraft fees. It has become impossible to manage my account because of this. I make $ XXXX a year and I can barely cover my living expenses because First Midwest is literally robbing my account as soon as I get a dollar. They have never offered me a resolution. I find a way to justify each transaction and will even go so far as to yell at you. I fell like a victim. This is the worst back I have ever done business with and I have had a bank account since I was XXXX and I am now XXXX years old.

On numerous occasions up to and including XX/XX/XXXX I have requested that the transactions in my account not be paid and be returned in an effort to XXXX out and close my account. Unbeknownst to me, on or about XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX, over {$2500.00} was transferred from my personal account into the account that I repeatedly requested be closed and that XXXX XXXX, ACTING AS AGENT AND AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE, KNEW I WAS NO LONGER AFFILIATED WITH. I will add that these accounts to and from which the funds were transferred were not linked, and the transfers were without my knowledge or consent, and therefore unauthorized. I am confident that a footprint of the account would substantiate my claims that these transfers were made by employees at the bank without my consent or knowledge. On XX/XX/XXXX, after no cooperation from the bank to honor my wishes, I was finally able to close my account. I have a recorded voicemail from my personal banker confirming such. Subsequent to the closing of my account, an employee and representative of First Midwest XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, instructed his assistant, XXXX, to reopen the account. I was made aware of this by another employee at the bank. How can an employee take it upon himself/herself to reopen an account when I instructed it be closed? Additionally, on XX/XX/XXXX, an inadvertent payroll deposit was allowed to be deposited to my closed account and the funds were kept and as of today have not been returned. When I reached out to XXXX he stated that well, mistakes were made but what was the damage? I can say with certainty that the damage is the {$2500.00} that they stole from me, as well as the additional {$620.00} in a payroll deposit also which was stolen and not returned. I have tried to resolve this with the bank directly by reaching out to the branch manager, XXXX, to no avail. Therefore, I ask that this please be addressed and this misconduct by the individuals employed by First Midwest be looked into and see to it that my account be fully closed, and not reopened. Please also refund me the {$2500.00} in unauthorized transfers, as well as the {$620.00} deposit made on XX/XX/XXXX. Additionally this has caused a negative impact to my credit reporting which I want corrected immediately.

On XX/XX/XXXX I opened a {$100000.00} HELOC with First Midwest Bank in XXXX. The HELOC was not on my primary residence but on an investment property that has/had no other mortgage. I never used or withdrew any funds. I attached the last statement dated XX/XX/XXXX which shows the HELOC was open, the annual {$50.00} fees was paid, and I had an over payment of {$10.00}. In XX/XX/XXXX, I discovered that the HELOC had been closed. I discovered it because I was in the process of purchasing another property and XXXX XXXX contacted the bank to verify the information I provided to the new lender. They informed me the HELOC was closed. I have received no written explanation about when and why it was closed. I have received different and conflicting explanations over the phone : one clerk claimed I closed it, another clerk claimed it was closed in XX/XX/XXXX by their collections department because of a late payment of the XXXX annual fees. ( It is true that I paid the XXXX annual fee of {$50.00} late. That is because I moved to XXXX and did not receive their annual statement even if I had notified them in writing of the address change. I paid it as soon as they contacted me by phone and they did not make a big deal out of it. In fact, one year later, in XXXX, they accepted my next annual fee payment over the phone with confirmation number XXXX, and sent me a new annual statement on XX/XX/XXXX ). I asked over the phone for a written explanation, for a refund of the {$10.00} balance and the {$50.00} annual fees, for a copy of the paid note and the mortgage release. As of XX/XX/XXXX, I still have not received anything. As of mid XX/XX/XXXX, the HELOC was still showing on my credit report and I had to contact XXXX to have it fixed. The HELOC was on an investment property in XXXX but I currently live in XXXX. After the discovery, to better track their correspondence, I changed my mailing address to a scanning service in XXXX. The only written communication I received from the bank since the address change is the attached notification that they have received the request for address change.

I opened a Home Equity Line of Credit in XXXX with First Midwest Bank that I have never used. I would pay an annual {$50.00} fee upon receiving their bill each year. I did not receive a bill for this {$50.00} fee on this never used account in XXXX. I did not receive any reminders of an annual fee being owed. On XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter of collections for a past due amount of {$60.00} that was dated XX/XX/XXXX. This letter was not clear 1. It did not clearly articulate what this amount was for ( {$50.00} annual fee and I assume a {$10.00} late fee? ). It stated that failure to pay immediately would result in further collections and the reporting of the delinquency to the credit bureau ''. They neglected to mention they reported that collection when they sent me this letter. I received a phone call XX/XX/XXXX from a woman who did not clearly or properly identify herself. There was no message as to the reason of her call. The phone number XXXX does not identify as belonging to First Midwest Bank, a XXXX search showed this number as reported SPAM. The woman who called spoke fast and garbled - ( XXXX from XXXX XXXX XXXX ). I do not have a relationship with XXXX XXXX XXXX. At no point was any reference that she was calling regarding an unpaid annual fee on a HELOC. I contacted the bank by phone XXXX as well as went into a bank branch to personally hand the letter attached. I requested that they remove the collection entry from each Bureau that First Midwest reports too ( XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX, there may be other regional bureaus too ). I also asked the line of credit be closed at consumer request. I was told by XXXX XXXX that he had no control of the reporting and that it could take months to change the reporting ( XXXX was referenced ). I am submitting an additional complaint surrounding their credit bureau reporting - as of XXXX, I see the account closed and {$0.00} owed but they have not removed the collection. I am hoping the CFPB can help get this resolved.

First Midwest Bank at XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, Illinois, is discriminating against me for being a XXXX XXXX XXXX. They would not allow me to cash {$100.00} of my {$400.00} XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX check # XXXX issued by the U.S. Treasury on XX/XX/2019, in their bank lobby. I needed {$100.00} so I could continue to pay for my {$30.00} XXXX bus passes through the winter months when my mobility afoot will be restricted, but the Teller only allowed me to withdraw {$80.00} in defiance of the Check Clearing For The 21st Century Act. To add insult to injury, they then assessed my third - {$36.00} Overdraft Fee to date since the inception of my account on XX/XX/2019, against my First Midwest Bank Easy Checking account. This time, they assessed the - {$36.00} Overdraft Fee against my {$41.00} check # XXXX to XXXX XXXX that I had to pay as a mattter of necessity for my cold 64 degree Fahrenheit apartment. However, for all tense and purposes, I should have never been assessed a - {$36.00} Overdraft Fee as according to their own records at XXXX XXXX XXXX I had a {$380.00} Balance at the time the - {$36.00} Overdraft Fee posted on XX/XX/2019. Under the Expedited Funds Availability Act, the bank Teller should have had a fidcuiary duty to advise me that I was Overdrawn on XX/XX/2019, ( if this was indeed the case ) for at which time i would have been glad to return on foot on XX/XX/2019, once the {$400.00} check cleared as the streets were still free of hazardous ice and snow at the time ( which isn't the case now ). I have never endured so frequentt of Overdraft Fees in such a short succession of time in my life so I feel that First Midwest Bank is Redlining me for being perceived as an inferior XXXX minority. I will be switching banks soon, but wanted to report this matter in case an investigation needs to be launched in order to protect more vulnerable customers at Frist Midwest Bank from such predatoy conduct. Thank you

On XX/XX/XXXX I opened a checking account at XXXX bank via credit card. They required a lot in order to open the account, including a driver 's license, signature card, and credit card statement used to fund the account. I provided the license and statement to them via email the week of XX/XX/XXXX. On XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, I mailed XXXX a signature card I printed from their online application. They told me this would be acceptable as long as it had my original signature and I sent it to them through the mail. ( I had previously sent them the signature card via email where they did not accept it. ) Funds were not available in my checking account at this time on XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX. However, I saw on XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX that they were available in my online banking portal. Clearly, they had gotten my signature card. I linked another financial institution to my XXXX checking account ( XXXX ) on XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX. The trial deposit was received ( and allowed ) at XXXX on XX/XX/2016. I confirmed the deposit at XXXX and submitted an ACH withdrawal request through XXXX to my checking account at XXXX Bank. This withdrawal from XXXX became available at XXXX on XX/XX/2016. On XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX I see the deposit as " Returned-Account Frozen '' in my XXXX account and that I have been charged a {$15.00} fee. My XXXX Account was not frozen, otherwise the trial deposit would not have been allowed. My funds were made available in my account on at least XX/XX/XXXX ( probably XX/XX/XXXX ), and the trial deposit went through fine on XXXX. Funds were available, and should not have been " returned '' after being withdrawn to XXXX. I want a refund of all fees I was charged by my other institution, XXXX. These fees were a result of XXXX error ( s ). I also want both my checking accounts closed at XXXX and to not be charged any fees to do so.

i opened a checking account with First Midwest Bank under a promo where i would receive {$250.00} if i followed through with several requirements. This included 10 debit card transactions, XXXX deposit, e-statements, and mobile banking. After contacting them several times about the details of the bonus requirements and if i had satisfied them, they are now refusing to pay out bonus because according to them - i didn't sign up for e-statements. I don't agree with this statement from them. When i finally was able to login online, i went into their system and selected online statements for the checking account. Their website timed out several times doing this, but i finally got to a screen where it worked. For some reason, my e-statement selection must not have stuck, but they told me i didn't fulfill this requirement. I am alleging that something reset or didn't hold on their website 's end, and they are not refusing to pay out bonus because of an error on their part. In addition, a few weeks after i opened the account, i got a letter in the mail saying i was signed up for overdraft protection. I remember opening the acct and not selecting overdraft, but they then went ahead and signed me up for this even though i opted out of this service. I had planned to use this account and switch over all of our household accts. After getting some less than reasonable service i wanted to wait until bonus paid now. Now, i am very disappointed about them denying this bonus due to a problem on their end.

Not long ago I noticed I had multiple unauthorized transactions on my XXXXXXXX XXXX with the title " XXXX XXXX XXXX ''. I had traced it back to my XXXX XXXX account where I saw multiple purchases. They refused to refund. Back in XXXX I had lost a phone with no lock screen, so I'm assuming that is how they got a hold of my account. After being refused help by XXXX XXXX and the company developer for that app, I contacted XXXX who fortunately helped with the fraud payments. On XX/XX/XXXX, I opened an " Easy Checking '' account at First Midwest Bank, under a promotion to receive {$250.00} upon the completion of four required activities : ( 1 ) open the account before XX/XX/XXXX, ( 2 ) Make XXXX debit card transactions, ( 3 ) Make deposits totaling {$2500.00} or more, and ( 4 ) enroll in online banking and e-statements. I will attach a screenshot from the promotion website that lists these four required activities. I waited the prerequisite length of time after completing all of these, but did not receive the {$250.00} reward. Upon contacting First Midwest Bank, I was given conflicting information as to why I did not receive the bonus. At first, I was told that I did not use my debit card XXXX times, although I did. ( I will attach a copy of my statement that contains the XXXX debit card transactions. ) Then I was told that my balance was {$0.00} on XX/XX/XXXX, which would disqualify me. However, my starting and ending balance on XX/XX/XXXX was {$2500.00}, with no transactions done that day, so it is impossible that my balance was {$0.00}. Finally, I was told that I did not receive the reward because I did not use their mobile banking app. However, this was not prominently advertised as a requirement : I enrolled in online banking and estatements immediately upon opening the account, as was advertised as a requirement. I have clearly met the terms of this promotion and request that I receive the {$250.00} reward that was promised.

I applied for mortgage pre-approval, received approval from First Midwest Bank loan officer XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. Based on approval, I entered into a purchase agreement with XXXX XXXX XXXX for a new construction townhouse. On XX/XX/XXXX, I was asked to sign conventional loan application for {$160000.00}, 4.5 % interest rate, with {$5000.00} down payment, and no closing costs for buyer. The application had multiple errors, including the property address and I asked them to correct it. On XX/XX/XXXX, I was asked to sign new application for an FHA loan. XXXX advised she couldn't do conventional loan. Loan amount decreased to {$150000.00}, interest rate increased to 4.625 % and buyer closing costs increased to {$2000.00}. Told that underwriting was trying to approve based on my student loan monthly payment. Confirmed with 2 local loan officers that this process should take about 48 hours to determine eligibility for FHA loan. Didn't receive response from XXXX XXXX until XX/XX/XXXX that I was not eligible for FHA loan. Told me that loan had to be conventional and the loan amount decreased to {$140000.00}, interest rate increased to 5.375 %, buyer closing costs increased to {$7800.00} approx. Two days later told I needed {$8500.00} for closing. Told me I had to produce certified funds within a week. Reason given was " changed circumstance '' but my circumstances had not changed. XXXX XXXX changed the terms of the loan after I entered into an agreement.

I have had accounts with First Midwest Bank for several years. First Midwest changed my accounts without notice and was charged a XXXX XXXX maintenance for an account being below {$100.00}. These accounts are labeled as free checking when I go to pay bills. This is how it is listed as of XX/XX/19 Show all payees sorted by name Pay from : FREE CHECKING When I Log in it show the account as follows FIRST MIDWEST EASY CHECKING, which you need have a balance of {$100.00} at all times to avoid a fee. I was concerned at asked about this on the First Midwest bank XXXX site. This is the response that I received : First Midwest Bank First Midwest Bank Good morning Mr . First Midwest is a very strong, healthy bank. As a business, we have to make decisions that allow us to continue to be competitive in a very competitive market. That may mean closing a branch, updating and adding to our product offerings, and even sometimes adjusting fees. Thank you for your message. I went in to the bank and closed out the account that was charged, so I would not get charged another fee. The banker closed the account and was bragging about other branches being open. I have two accounts still open with this bank. They are charging maintenance fees for accounts listed as free checking.

ON XXXX/XXXX/2016 I had a positive balance in my checking account with First Midwest Bank. On XXXX/XXXX/2016 I also had a positive balance in my checking account. Apparently during the night, a check came through, causing my account to be negative, so I was charged a {$36.00} overdraft fee. However, my paycheck ALSO came through-during the night. I do n't believe it is fair or legal to be charged an overdraft fee when in essence, my account had a negative balance for a few hours during the night. No checks were returned and my payroll check more than covered the negative amount. Through email correspondence, the branch manager said she would not refund my fee since they refunded two fees in the ( recent ) past. I have banked with this lender for years. I have never been overdrawn, until recently. One of my two employers took away my monthly draw a few months ago, even though I have a signed employment agreement with them, with no notice or warning. I am scrambling to make ends meet with the sudden loss of income. I have explained that on deaf ears at First Midwest. They are kicking me when I 'm down, and have charged quite a bit in overdraft fees to me, in my opinion.

'' I made a {$2500.00} deposit on XX/XX/XXXX, enrolled in online banking and e-statements upon signing up in XXXX, logged into the mobile app to check my balance on XX/XX/XXXX, and completed my ten debit transactions of $ XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. I messaged the bank on XX/XX/XXXX asking when I might expect to see the bonus. I opened a personal loan with this company in 2017 and have made every single payment on time for the last 5 years because it was set up for auto pay. I ensured that before I left on this XXXX to XXXX that all my finances were on auto-pay so I would have peace if mind in not missing any payment. Instead of notifying me about the final payment that was set for auto draft not being auto drafted they instead reported that I failed to make my final payment. This is the 21st century there are multiple means of notifying consumers that there final payment must be paid a certain way because of their own internal policy. I never received an email, phone call, vm, or text message that my final payment was not going to be auto drafted but needed to paid over the phone. This type of business practice is immoral and severely disadvantages the consumer. I've made every single payment on time in full and wasn't even given the courteousy to tell me I needed to pay x. There is a potential now because my credit took a XXXX hit that I could lose out on rates for my mortgage which I'm in the process of getting. This needs to stop.

I moved my banking from this institution to another institution in XXXX XXXX XXXX Payments were authorized on the account dating back to XX/XX/XXXX and I was not notified that my account was overdrawn until OVER NINETEEN DAYS LATER. I asked why I was not notified that I was overdrawn and I was told that 3 letters were sent, none of which I have received. I have verified my address and while it is correct, I have not received the letters. I was also not sent push notifications through their mobile app ( Which I have set up ) nor was I sent any text or phone notifications about the account being overdrawn. To date, I have incurred over XXXX dollars in fees that I can not pay and should not have to pay. When I brought it to their attention they REFUSED to do anything about it because " I've had other fees reversed on my account ''. When I explained that those fees were due to fraud on my account that I did not authorize, they still refused to do anything about it. This is an Unfair and Abusive practice and I want it to be investigated and righted because this is absolutely unacceptable.

I originally opened this account for a {$10000.00} personal loan and then not long after opening, it was refinanced through XXXX. They told me that they would pay off my existing loan with First Midwest. I had my account set up for autopsy, so if there were any balance left then it should be taken card of. I wasn't notified of this remaining balance until I saw it on my credit report. It was stating that I was at least 60 days late on a bill. I was shocked to see this as I have never been late on any payment in my life and did all I could do to keep my score at nearly 800. Since this happened, my score dropped to about 675!! I just want to have my score that I have strived for all my life! One misunderstood item, and I lost everything I have been working towards. I was in the process of moving and had changed my address with the local post office, but I'm guessing that First Midwest decided to ignore this information. I paid this account off in full as soon as I learned of it's existence but it was too late. I should not be penalized for another companies negligence!

In XX/XX/2019, I noticed there was a link to open First Midwest Bank account online, so I went through the link, filled all my information and submitted my application. A week later, I noticed my account was open and I had the online access to manage my account, so I used the ACH system to transfer my money to my new account. Everything looks good. However, two days later, I noticed I lose my access for online account and my debit card as well. Then I checked with the bank. They mentioned they need more documentation to open the account and activate it, and requested my to mail several documentations to certain location. I didn't feel safe to mail my personal info, so I refused to do that and requested to close my account and send me my money back. But they didn't allow me to do that. They don't allow me to close the account and didn't want to send me money back. Tried several numbers to fix it, but still can not. Right now, I still receive the statement from the bank, but I lose all the access to this account, even for my own money.

On XX/XX/XXXX I received notification that I was declined for a loan with First Midwest Bank that was presented to me through the banks online program as all but approved. The method of presentation and contact with the company stated that the approval was all but assured and that the rate would likely be at the lowest available rate based on the information provided. The operator from contact today ( XX/XX/XXXX ) became very argumentative and rude when I asked to cancel the application based on false advertisement and misleading statements made by previous operators and their pre-approval system. She then refused to escalate my call to the proper channels and stated that they do not have a escalations system. This was a very misleading process and feels predatory in nature, and for as fast as the operator was to become confrontational and unprofessional, it would seem to me this happens often. Conversation was concluded with the operator telling me that my only method of relief would be to lodge a complaint. So here I am.

My XXXX account I believe was hacked due to the fact that i had not sent out any money on the app, I always use XXXX. The following dates are the dates that the transactions took place XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX. I know youre first question is Why had you not spotted this sooner? And to be honest, I check my checking account at the end of the month when i get my statement. Even after i took this up with my bank and XXXX XXXX told them my story and waited for a few weeks, they did absolutely nothing about it. This makes me extremely upset because in that one month i had lost {$7200.00}. And then telling me they cant do anything about it even though that is what theyre designed to do just makes this whole situation sickening. To conclude, I would like to give a huge thanks to The First Midwest Bank for doing absolutely nothing about fraudulent charges and will be most likely switching banks if this ever gets resolved due to the fact that they were unprofessional about this whole situation.

Our Social Security checks come in on the second and third Wednesday of each month. Our bills come in various times of the month. The bank pays them and charges an " overage fee '' of {$36.00} for each even for a {$10.00} church donation. When SS checks come in, they take their money first instead of first paying current bills. This leaves us in a spiraling downward hole. Our SS checks are enough to pay our bills for the month if they would let us and then pay the overages. There is always that occasional bill that we did not expect that they pay and then charge us which starts the spiral downward and we can never catch up. We have no other income and pay our bills on time but the bank won't let us because they want their money first. Although the money is in the bank when our mortgage is due, they did not pay for two months for the same reason which put us in jeopardy with our mortgage lender. Help!

I'm tried to withdraw money from my XXXX account but I was using First Midwest ATM machine on XX/XX/2019 at XXXX XXXX. Their ATM machine jammed and didn't disburse the money but they had deducted funds from my XXXX account. I waited until they open at XXXX XXXX to try to get my money from them. They refuse to help me and told me to call my financial institution to file dispute claim which will take up to 10 business days to investigate and 30-90 days to put the fund back to my account. I need my money and I can't wait that long. It's thier ATM malfunction and they refuse to do anything at their end because I'm not the First Midwest customer but they deducted the money from my account and charged me XXXX for ATM fee.

On XXXX XXXX, XXXX, I wired {$8600.00} to a XXXX XXXX XXXX account. It was posted XXXX XXXX, XXXX but the receiver advised me that XXXX XXXX wanted me to request the money be returned to my account. I submitted a letter to my bank and they wired it the same way the money was wired. I have been in contact with my bank and XXXX XXXX since then trying to get my money returned. During this time, I have learned that the recipient has a history of wire scams that I was unaware of. The last correspondence was on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX with XXXX XXXX. Their representative told me that no one had access to the money and XXXX XXXX was still looking into the situation. As of XXXX/XXXX/XXXX, I have not heard from XXXX XXXX.

On XX/XX/2021 it was discovered that 3 fraudulent charges were made to my debit card. I went to First Midwest Bank immediately after noticing them and got a new debit card. I was told they would review the 3 charges and return my money. On XX/XX/XXXX I was mailed a letter saying that one of the charges will not be returned for a total of {$77.00}. When I called customer service they said their is no appeal nothing I can do but call the company that the charge was made and fight with them. The company is XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX. They can not give me any information because I do not know what phone number the charges were applied to. First Midwest will do nothing to assist in these charges or let me appeal.

On XX/XX/2021 we contacted another financial institution about a HELOC. In gathering the documents needed to obtain this, we discovered our XXXX XXXX XXXX policy was cancelled XX/XX/2021. I contacted First Midwest Bank, our loan holder about this. They stated it was paid but since they " are a new servicer '' they did not have a closing disclosure. They required the loan XX/XX/2021 and were told it was already paid. The insurance and taxes are part of our escrow account. We had to pay out of pocket {$1800.00} to insure the house but our escrow continues to gather {$1600.00} to pay out the insurance policy. We have been literally robbed by this bank for the second time.

A checking account that was supposed to be closed, was not closed. As a result, I was charged fees for account maintenance. The monthly fee took the account into an overdraft status. The account was charged off. When I later went to open an account with the same bank, I was advised that I had a delinquent account. The management reversed fees. I agreed to pay half. They agreed to remove the reporting from XXXX consumer report. It also should be noted that the account was reported XXXX on my XXXX as well. So not only should the account not have been reported at all, but it should not have been reported twice.

When working with the company. I incurred an overdraft fee. After calling them and asking them to disable the overdraft protection on the account, they told me that even with the overdraft protection disabled, they would still charge a fee for each transaction that was returned ( confusing terminology meaning that the transaction was denied according to them ) due to insufficient funds. What is the point of disabling overdrafts if you are still getting charged. There is no cost to denying a transaction and no money loaned on their part. This seems like a predatory way to gouge people with fees.
