Business Name : First Financial Bank My husband was telling his banker for his XXXX, XXXX XXXX with First Financial Bank at its XXXX XXXX XXXX location, about the poor manner in which XXXX XXXX handled our refinance during the month of XXXX, XXXX. Ms. XXXX assured my husband that, based on what he reported to her regarding my credit score, his income ( I also have verifiable income ) and having at least $ 50k plus of equity in my home, First Financial could help us with a home equity loan. On XX/XX/XXXX, my husband and I met with Ms. XXXX. Once she had both of our credit reports pulled, she stated that she had all she needed. I asked her if she saw any issues with our credit reports, and she stated that she would be using my credit report, but my husband 's income ( as my income apparently was " not enough '' due to me being self-employed ), and that she saw no issues. She then stated that she would send us a link so that we could upload paystubs, tax returns, etc. We had our items submitted within 7-14 days. We kept in contact with Ms. XXXX over those next few weeks to keep up with the process of our application. During that time, the only issue she brought up was my husband 's income could be an issue - because my husband 's XXXX operated at a loss in XXXX. However, she stated that she believed we could still get to the percentage that we needed, based on my husband 's salary from being employed with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX since XXXX. Sometime in XXXX ( I am perturbed that I can not locate the letter to confirm the date ), I received a letter from First Financial stating that our application was denied due to a garnishment ( which I have none ), unverifiable income ( although we submitted tax returns and pay stubs, respectively, from XXXX through XX/XX/XXXX ), and another reason which I can not remember due to the letter being misplaced. At no point during the application process did an issue of a garnishment come up. At no point were we told that our income was " unverifiable. '' In fact, the only issue we were apprised of was whether his income would be at the right percentage to be approved. I contacted Ms. XXXX at least three times, since receiving the letter, to get clarification as to the actual reason we were denied as the reasons stated in the letter were never brought up to us. To date, she has never responded. I contacted First Financial 's customer service, and they stated that I had to speak with the branch where we applied. As a result, I had no choice but to feel like something else is afoot here. It was not until I filed a complaint when XXXX XXXX, a manager, began to reach out. When I called Mr. XXXX on or about XX/XX/XXXX, he proceeded to discuss items which never came up before ; although, from the beginning, we asked repeatedly if there were any problems with either of our credit reports, which we were told there were not. He brought up one issue was regarding an item which was paid for 5 years ago and not showing on our end on any of his credit bureau reports. Mr. XXXX made a comment about excessive debt. I have $ 50k+ in equity in my home ; as a home owner, when a person wants better control of their debt, then they utilize the equity in their home - correct? We asked on day one if my student loan debt, credit cards ( due to building 3 businesses ), or personal loans for XXXX ( none of which have ever been delinquent ), or any other debt would be an issue. Ms. XXXX indicated there was no issue. First Financial initially stated they could help us because we could show valid income and at least one of us has a good credit score/payment history. Now, out of nowhere, XXXX brings up a five year old issue which was resolved years ago ; it involved a car which my husband turned in because it had a faulty engine. There was a balance left on the car which was taken care of through a settlement. He should see that on the credit report - but they pulled a report that didnt have anywhere near the scores my husband was showing on his credit monitoring for that credit bureau. Instead of clarifying the issues, as an underwriter should have done first, they took that information along with some other foolishness about excessive debt, which never came up despite us asking if there were any issues with either one of our reports. In my experience, if a bank truly wants to work with an applicant, it would contact the applicant for clarification or to request supplemental documents. First Financial did not make any attempt to do this after we submitted the initial requested documents. I have been dealing with credit since I was XXXX. Thats 20 years of credit cards, loans and a mortgage. Between my husband and I, there are student loans, car loans, personal loans for XXXX, a mortgage, and credit card debt due to starting businessES. I do not have any collections on my report. I am a XXXX XXXX in her eighth year of XXXX. I have been in XXXX XXXX for three years straight. I can verify my income from it as a XXXX XXXX who is both XXXX XXXX and accepts private pay clients. I have good credit with no collections or past due items. My score was around 698 or 700 during the time of the application. My home currently has about $ 50,000+ in equity. My husband has been gainfully employed with the same XXXX XXXX for 11+ years and First Financial sees most of the money that comes from his XXXX, which has been in business since XXXX. I think the credit score they pulled form him was incorrect as, just three weeks prior to Ms. XXXX XXXX credit inquiry my husband was in the low to mid 600s and nothing changed on his report ; but she said it was much lower ( XXXX ) as of XX/XX/XXXX. My husband pulled up his credit monitoring and showed her that there must be some mistake - but they went with what they pulled and told us that only my credit would be factored into the application. The reason why I didnt do an application by myself is due to my student loan debt negatively affecting my debt-to-income ratio. XXXX said that XXXX income should do just fine. She later said that because the BUSINESS, not my husbands income in of itself, took a loss, the underwriter may have an issue with my husband 's income. What did that have to do with the fact that our tax returns shows that we collectively had valid income for that year? I do not know if there is an issue of us being self-employed, but my husband also is a salaried employee of another entity. I do not know if this is about race or socioeconomic status. I am not certain of what First Financial tried to pull here, but at the very least, it is extremely clear that First Financial 's letter stating the reason for denial is completely different from what had been discussed over the course of the application. What is frustrating is that First Financial refuses to give us a concrete reason as to why they denied an application which we were told was " so promising '' at the beginning. We have the income, we have the creditworthiness ( since when does a bank ignore scores and cherry pick old issues instead?? ), and the equity in the home. I, alone, am absolutely credit worthy. Yet, this letter was sent after weeks of not hearing anything. Prior to that, we received consistent communication. Soon after, we heard nothing and were never given a heads up with any issues which hadn't been discussed before. I do not believe First Financial has a valid reason to deny us. It is clear that First Financial misrepresented it's willingness to provide good customer service and willingness to work with us as credit-worthy applicants. I don't even believe they pulled a valid credit report for my husband because what they had and what we showed for the same credit report were very different. It is clear that they are trying to cover up the fact that they told us one thing in the beginning of the application, and despite us giving EVERYTHING requested of us for the application, they continue to be inconsistent with their reason for the denial.

Dear Sir or Madam, 1. FIRSTFINBNK Account Number:XXXX Please correct this inaccurate information on my credit report. I recently pulled my credit report from your Bureau and my attorneys and I had a chance to go over my credit report and in amazement, that you have decided to report me 30 days late on this account in XX/XX/XXXX and 60 days late in XX/XX/XXXX. I immediately disputed this information with FIRSTFINBNK and the results of the investigation came back " verified ''. Not only was I never late on this account, but according to the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), the information furnisher is required to notify me of the insertion of negative listings. Since I have disputed the lates with the creditor, and you obviously " verified '' them, I am very curious as to what kinds of " records '' you may have for this alleged account. I am very confident that you are in violation of the ( FCRA ) and ( FCBA ) sections ( 1666, 1666a. 1666b., and 1666c. ) as stated below : 1666. Correction of billing errors ( b ) Billing error ( 4 ) The creditor 's failure to reflect properly on a statement, a payment made by the obligor or a credit issued to the obligor. ( 5 ) A computation error or similar error of an accounting nature of the creditor on a statement. ( 6 ) Failure to transmit the statement required under section 1637 ( b ) of this title to the last address of the obligor which has been disclosed to the creditor, unless that address was furnished less than twenty days before the end of the billing cycle for which the statement is required. ( 7 ) Any other error described in regulations of the Bureau. 1666a. Regulation of credit reports ( a ) Reports by creditor on obligor 's failure to pay amount regarded as billing error After receiving a notice from an obligor as provided in section 1666 ( a ) of this title, a creditor or his agent may not directly or indirectly threaten to report to any person adversely on the obligor 's credit rating or credit standing because of the obligor 's failure to pay the amount indicated by the obligor under section 1666 ( a ) ( 2 ) of this title, and such amount may not be reported as delinquent to any third party until the creditor has met the requirements of section 1666 of this title and has allowed the obligor the same number of days ( not less than ten ) thereafter to make payment as is provided under the credit agreement with the obligor for the payment of undisputed amounts. ( b ) Reports by creditor on delinquent amounts in dispute ; notification of obligor of parties notified of delinquency If a creditor receives a further written notice from an obligor that an amount is still in dispute within the time allowed for payment under subsection ( a ) of this section, a creditor may not report to any third party that the amount of the obligor is delinquent because the obligor has failed to pay an amount which he has indicated under section 1666 ( a ) ( 2 ) of this title, unless the creditor also reports that the amount is in dispute and, at the same time, notifies the obligor of the name and address of each party to whom the creditor is reporting information concerning the delinquency. ( c ) Reports by creditor of subsequent resolution of delinquent amounts A creditor shall report any subsequent resolution of any delinquencies reported pursuant to subsection ( b ) to the parties to whom such delinquencies were initially reported. 1666b. Timing of payments ( a ) Time to make payments A creditor may not treat a payment on a credit card account under an open end consumer credit plan as late for any purpose, unless the creditor has adopted reasonable procedures designed to ensure that each periodic statement including the information required by section 1637 ( b ) of this title is mailed or delivered to the consumer not later than 21 days before the payment due date. Because I take my credit very seriously, I contacted every name and account that was listed on the report. I was again very shocked by the multiple names, account numbers and figures. Included with this letter, is every letter written to those who have hampered my ability to obtain credit. I believe that any judge that looks over the report would agree that it is a violation of both the FCRA, CCPA and FACTA. The following accounts were listed on your report and I have demanded from them a full accounting and five years worth of records to see if their accounts were in violation of the FAIR CREDIT BILLING ACT ( FCBA ). We also demanded signed contracts, agreements or any legal paperwork that would tie us to the following accounts. Under the FCRA, you are required to conduct an investigation on this account if I request it. I DEMAND to see all 100 % verifiable proof that I was indeed Verifiably late on these accounts and the creditor fulfilled its obligations under ( FCBA 1666 ( a ) ( 2 ) ), As I was never notified of a billing delinquency on my accounts, which the creditor must do under section ( FCBA1666 ( b ) ( 6 ). I DEMAND to see proof that I was mailed my statement to the correct address notifying me of both payment due date and delinquency of payment on the account. If you can not provide 100 % Verifiable proof and proper documentation that the CREDITOR fulfilled its obligations under the ( FCBA ) and ( FCRA ), I therefore demand these late payments be removed from my account or I will be forced to be in contact with the Attorney General of my State and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. I therefore am submitting my written request to you to conduct an investigation. Per the FCRA, you have 30 days to conduct this investigation and respond to my request. If you do not respond within this time period, per the FCRA, you must remove this negative information. Thank you for your time, XXXX XXXX SS # : XXXX Date of Birth : XX/XX/XXXX XXXX : Consumer Financial Protection Bureau XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, Iowa XXXX

On XX/XX/XXXX I called First Financial Bank to close a checking account over the phone. This was an old account I wasnt using much anymore and had nearly forgotten about. On XX/XX/XXXX I was quickly reminded of it when I received a letter showing that I had accidentally tried to use that account to pay a credit card instead of using my current checking account. It was a matter of hitting the wrong button during an online payment. In a panic, I called First Financial to straighten it out and learned that everything was fine. The bank simply declined the payment. I wasnt overdrawn, owed no late fees and did not use my overdraft line of credit. To avoid this happening again in the future, I closed the checking account in the same phone call. The representative said that there were no issues with the account and that I would soon receive a check for the remainder in the account, which was between XXXX and XXXX dollars. It took a couple of weeks, but I did receive the check. Not long after, ( XXXX, I think ) I got the idea that something might not be quite right because I got a statement in the mail showing I owed interest or possibly fees on an overdraft line of credit associated with the checking account I had closed in XXXX. I emailed First Financial Bank to ask what this was and got no response. On XX/XX/XXXX I got a call from XXXX at First and she told me that I owed the entirety of my overdraft line of credit XXXX XXXX XXXX to the bank. We both seemed to be puzzled by this. If the overdraft line is in use, the checking account cant be closed without it first being paid off. So neither of us were sure how my checking account was closed and I received a check if my overdraft line was not paid off. The other reason it was puzzling was I havent used that overdraft line in years. Neither of us knew why it the system would be showing that it was in use. XXXX said she would need to do more research and call me back. I told her that if a mistake has been made then I want to help fix it. Since I could no longer see my statements online due to my account being closed, I emailed First again to see if theres any way to access my statements. Again, I got no response. XXXX never did call me back, but about a week later I got a letter explaining that processing errors had occurred and an apology for the inconvenience. At this point I thought First had figured out the error and that it was resolved. I will attach the letter with this complaint along with a text showing the times two of my calls to First Financial took place. On XX/XX/13 I got a call from First stating that I owe the XXXX from the overdraft line, plus interest that had been accruing over the past few months. I was also told that I needed to clear it up because its affecting your credit score. This representative put me in touch with XXXX, who was the first person who was able to explain what seems to have happened. From what XXXX said and showed me through documents that he emailed to me, it appeared that the overdraft line had accidentally disbursed into my account in XXXX, even though there was no need for it to, and it was not caught and corrected before I closed the account. So if this is correct, the representative I spoke with when I closed the account didnt notice it and the bank overpaid me by XXXX at the time they closed the account. Also, if this is correct this is a simple mistake made by the bank. All they would need to do is ask me to pay the {$500.00} back. Where it gets complicated is, they didnt. I asked about this in XXXX when I got a hint that something wasnt right, and although XXXX did tell me that they received my email, he also acknowledged that no one responded. He acknowledged that no one responded to my request for statements in XXXX as well, and that I did not get a call back from XXXX. He also told me that although XXXX had requested research on this issue, it had gone neglected for a month. During this time, and this is the real problem, First has made a report against my credit score 1. even though it was their mistake, and 2. before altering me to the problem and giving me the opportunity to fix it. Again, the opportunity to help them fix their mistake. This is a false report that has been made against me ; I didnt do anything except cash the check they sent me in the mail, and then help them try to figure where they messed up. Correcting this credit report is now contingent upon my paying back the money they accidentally gave me, which Ive already offered to do if they can show me that it was actually given to me, but now theyre asking for interest and a closing fee and Im in the position of negotiating lowering the fees on money that they gave me by mistake. It doesnt seem like they shouldve been able to make this credit report at all, yet they have and theyre using it as a fear tactic to get me to do what I have been trying to do since XXXX. I dont know how to proceed and I need guidance. It seems unethical for them to make an error and then report it against my credit in order to use it to bully me into fixing their mistake. It also seems unethical for them to send me a letter acknowledging that theyve made the mistake and the matter is resolved, then contact me two months later and tell me I owe them interest on the matter they said they resolved. I dont know what to do. I havent seen definitive evidence that they overpaid me in the first place, and I have no reason to believe that when I do pay them theyll retract their report against me.

On XX/XX/2020, I review my banks website and found the attached copy of their website stating that Mortgage and Home Equity Loan Payment Deferral Program you may defer payments up to 90 days without credit bureau impact and late fees will be waived during the deferral period. On XX/XX/2020, I contacted First Financial Bank using their online contact form for Covid 19 Hardship Relief. https : XXXX? XXXX On XX/XX/2020 I had not heard from the bank. On XX/XX/2020, I re entered the information on the Covid 19 Hardship Relief form and resubmitted it. On XX/XX/2020 I received the attached response that First Financial Bank had received my request. It suggested that due to high usage volume they would be getting back to me as soon as possible. It further stated that If you have a payment due the first week of XXXX, we are still able to apply the relief program to your XXXX payment. XXXX first came and went with no response from First Financial Bank. I blocked the ACH Mortgage Payment transaction from my bank. First Financial Bank took the money out of my account and was forced by the block to return the funds. On XX/XX/2020, I received a call from XXXX XXXX, with First Financial Bank. We spent the next week trying to get their Hardship Relief Application filled out and submitted securely. The secure system failed to function for four to five days. Finally they had to get one of their IT Specialists involved to set up and account and issue a password to allow me access to the system. This application was completed and submitted on XX/XX/2020. On XX/XX/2020 I received the attached letter from XX/XX/2020, that my account was XXXX XXXX and I had been assessed a late fee of {$91.00}. On XX/XX/2020, I spoke with XXXX, ( XXXX ) XXXX XXXX, at First Financial Bank. XXXX explained to me that I could enter into a Forbearance Agreement. I would be listed as past due with a credit report to the credit agencies of current, with a disaster related delinquency note. All of which would stay in place until such time as I paid all amounts in arearage. At this point it is clear to me that First Financial Bank has falsely advertised and fraudulently advertised their banks services to the public at large and me specifically. They have no qualifications on their website as to filling out forms or being approved for the 90 - day deferment. The clearly state that not reporting to the credit reporting agencies will be made. They make no mention of a requirement to enter into a Forbearance Agreement. They have not deferred my payment for 90 days. They have charged me a late fee when it clearly states that they would not. I will be monitoring my credit scores to see if they in any way negatively report, but since they have failed to preform in all other aspects, I can only assume that they will fail in this aspect as well. I would appreciate it if you would launch an investigation of this entity for their false promises to the public and to me. They are purporting to the public that they are available to help, but are more about helping themselves by advertising their willingness to provide services for which they are clearly unable to provide as stated.

My concern is that these credit bureaus/companies that need to run your credit to make sure you pay your bills are running individuals ' credit but are not providing people with any loan or credit card after doing so. This puts a two year hard inquire/derogatory mark on your credit report thats drops your credit rating around XXXX points sometimes. My question is, how are people supposed to come out of poverty-stricken areas when the system they have currently set ; makes a two-year derogatory mark on your credit report? This seems like a modern-day trap for slavery. This is unreasonable and only allows the rich to prosper and holds the people needing help at the bottom. I do not believe our credit reports should be affected if they are not providing us with loan/credit line at the end. I believe this is a way for the rich/big corporations to keep control over those who are not as intelligent with electronics/technology/economics and only breeds more hostility and deception. This is not honorable, justice, or reasonable by any means. This allows for people at the top to suppress those at the bottom by means of a fantasy number they control unfairly. I am a man that always pays his bills and have fallen victim to this credit scam even when I'm paying them more money over the term of the credit card, my credit score still suffers. That doesn't make sense. My credit score was around XXXX a couple years back and due to the having inquires ran on my credit I am unable to lower my interest rates on these cards with a personal loan or a debt consolidation loan. The system does not seem to be in favor of hard-working Americans who go to work and pay their bills in my eyes. Interest rates are unreasonable and with the current inflated market everywhere in the United States makes it much harder to be able to pay anything extra on these credit cards. Rent Cost have skyrocketed. Food cost have increased. Essentials have increased. The cost of living has increased. I don't see how workers are even making it in this current market when most of them are only bringing home less than {$1000.00} every 2 weeks. One check these days is your whole rent payment plus some extra. Having a home is a basic necessity that everyone should have in life but it's the things we pay the most for in life. We shouldn't be getting " XXXX '' for rent when we are trying to save for a home of our own. This is a class action lawsuit in itself. America is turning into the land of Monopolies and that is creating what we know today as modern-day slavery through economics and hacking technology. I missed all emails for the previous complaint I submitted but I have my notifications on now. Stop letting the big corporations bully decent hard-working Americans!

I attempted to open an account with First Financial Bank on XX/XX/XXXX. The application and website made it seem as though I could open the account online. I was able to complete the application and was assigned an account number but when I tried to set up online banking I was told that I would need to come into a branch. Since there weren't any branches near me, I called customer service on XXXX and told them that I would no longer be needing the account. The customer service representative ( XXXX XXXX ) said that they needed to wait for the opening deposit {$50.00} to hit my account before they could close it and issue a check. I followed-up on XXXX, XXXX and XXXX, but never received my check. I called customer service again on XXXX and spoke with XXXX XXXX, who said she would take care of closing the account. I also followed-up with her several times : she first told me she mailed the check on XXXX then she told me she mailed it on XXXX and then on XX/XX/XXXX she told me that the check had to be processed in Ohio before being sent to me. I told her I was moving and asked if I could pick up the check at her offices. She just kept telling me to be patient. This bank is giving me the run around. Today, I called customer service again and they told me that I had been charged a {$25.00} account fee but no check had been issued. It has been a month and a half since I started this ordeal and I would like my opneing deposit back since I never received access to this account. They had no right to charge me a fee and they have no right to be holding onto my funds for this long. They advertised the account as online banking and never mentioned you would need to come into a branch until after you fund the account. It is a bait-and-switch operation. I am attaching my correspondence with the bank.

I applied for a loan online and several companies contacted me via telephone to do the loan process prior to XX/XX/XXXX. The company claiming to be XXXX XXXX XXXX paid off XXXX of my credit cards in the sum of {$1100.00} stating they were doing so to make sure that I was responsible enough to repay them. They had me repay them by purchasing gift cards and sending the cards to them electronically. The payment of {$1100.00} is the only transfer of funds from them that hasnt been returned/refused/taken back. I was then approved for a loan and {$4600.00} was deposited into my account on XX/XX/2021. At that time I noticed funds were being transferred both in and out of my accounts. I applied for a second loan through a company claiming to be First Financial Bank, in the amount of {$5000.00}, then a deposit of {$4800.00} was put into my account on XX/XX/2021. The funds were made available by the bank after XXXX day, at which time I began using the funds. The next day, I was informed that there was a check from a law firm that had been altered. The company I applied for the loan online had access to my bank account and had me return funds to them saying this was the process to assure my bank account was good because it had reversals in it so some of these funds were returned to them saying this was the process for approval, once the check was cleared after XXXX days by the bank, I was under the impression the loan was okay, but later found out that it wasnt and it was a scam. I then contacted my bank to try and find out what was going on to bring them to justice. Both Financial Institutions were out of Ohio, XXXX was claiming to be XXXX XXXX XXXX, the other was claiming to be First Financial Bank. If someone can contact me asap about this at XXXX thank you.

To : The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, I had an account with First Financial Bank ending in XXXX that experienced ACH Fraud for an amount of {$3400.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX I received a provisional credit in the amount of {$3400.00}. ( The {$4.00} was an error by First Financial Bank and is negligible and not part of this complaint, but I wanted to explain the discrepancy within the transaction history on the provided statements ) The provisional credit was credited to my account ending in XXXX for {$3400.00}, then that amount was immediately debited and credited into my new account ending in XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. The new account was opened in response to the fraud. Everything was fine and my account was eventually closed in XX/XX/XXXX and I no longer had a relationship with First Financial Bank. Then on XX/XX/XXXX I received a call from XXXX XXXX of First Financial Bank, she threatened legal action if I do not pay this amount. I was shocked to hear about an ACH dispute that occurred over SIX months ago. Therefore FFB reopened my account without my permission and put a negative balance on my account. This is all after the account was closed with a XXXX balance and no outstanding items in XX/XX/XXXX. 1. What is the point of closing an account? 2. Why am I held responsible for an ACH dispute claim that falls outside of the ACH dispute timelines? 3. There is also a {$2000.00} check that I cashed that shows no where on my statements ( which are attached ) and I am being told that the check bounced. This also occurred on my closed ( and unfairly reopened account ending in XXXX ) 4. I feel harassed and that this is exactly why the CFPB is put into place. FFB can not call me and demand restitution until a prosecutor has reviewed the case.

I received letters on XX/XX/XXXX stating that there was usual activity on my personal and business accounts with FirstFinancial Bank. My personal credit card was approved for {$15000.00}. My business line of credit was {$30000.00} and business credit {$20000.00}. My business accounts were never used and the letter reported that it was unusual activity. I called the fraud department the XX/XX/XXXX and was informed that my accounts were frozen but they couldnt see why. I spoke with the branch manager and she was unable to see why as well. I spoke with a XXXX XXXX First Financial Bank saying that they were working on resolving the matter for the activity and none of the accounts were being closed and they wanted to keep me as a customer. Unbeknownst to be I received notification XX/XX/XXXX via my XXXX and XXXX that my personal credit card was closed and reports as a settlement on my credit. It also stated that the credit card account had been closed since XX/XX/XXXX. I opened this account in XX/XX/2023 Ive made on time payments over the minimum amount. To report to the credit bureaus that I agreed to a settlement is false, because I havent spoke to anyway. When opening my personal line of credit, personal credit card, business line of credit, and business credit I submitted all requested documents. I have never experienced a financial institution closing a credit card account with on time payments and reporting the balance as settled with notifying the customer. We were also informed that the company has frozen/closed over XXXX XXXX American accounts without notifying their customers

On XX/XX/XXXX, I went to First Financial to get an ATM withdrawal of {$150.00}. When I attempted to get the {$150.00}, the machine informed me that I must withdraw in {$20.00} increments. So I entered {$160.00} ( I knew I was close to my balance, but believed that if I was over my balance, it would let me know if I did not have enough funds. ) The money was issued. I did not look at my receipt to notice that my balance was now - {$9.00}. It took me a few days to notice not only was my account negative, but they charged me an overdraft fee of {$37.00} on my ATM withdrawal. And when additional monthly charges for XXXX XXXX ( {$4.00} ) and XXXX ( {$16.00} ) they paid those and charged addition overdraft fees. When I went to a branch spoke to a branch representative about my account, I asked why would they pay these minor charges then charge me overdraft fee. They informed me that I have an " Overdraft Protection Program '' on my account that allows First Financial to pay incoming charges, but they charge {$37.00} for each occurrence. I told her I never agreed to that and signed a document stopping this practice. ( They automatically add it to your account unless you specifically decline it ... but you do not know it even exists ). This is way to rack up fees at the expense of their customers. Had they declined the ATM ( as most other banks would have ) I would have chose a lower amount than to experience an overdraft fee.

This issue has been going on for so long that I can no longer keep details straight. Late XXXX/early XX/XX/XXXXI moved funds from an external account to my FFB account in order to XXXX out the balance and close the account ( due to moving XXXX miles away and being unable to reasonably bank with FFB any longer ). I was then communicated by FFB through their online messaging center that I just needed to send them a message and they would close my account. Weeks later, a bill was somehow taken out of the account because FFB did not close my account as promised, and I was charged a fee. I either paid the fee or it was waived, then I was told AGAIN that the account would be closed once XXXX out, which was done. It has been over 8 months and I continue to receive statements, harassing calls, telling me I owe them HUNDREDS of dollars in fees. This is beyond abusive at this stage and completely out of line. How can a bank get away with not closing an account when asked to, time and time again? I'd spoken to a branch manager about this at some point, raising frustrations, concerns, and sheer panic. I moved, I needed to end my relationship, there's no reason to abuse me by forcing me to maintain an account with them and charging me fee after fee after I XXXX the account out and asked them to close it out, as I was instructed to do. I'm completely at a loss at what to do and demand that all fees be cleared off of me.

First Financial provided bridge and equity loans in conjunction with mortgage loan from XXXX XXXX. Did not provide adequate communication, did not answer questions, was very disorganized, forgot several things. Asked for same info multiple times. Resulted in closing on house to be delayed 3 times ( 3 weeks late ). Had to reschedule movers 3 times and had to live among boxes and wrapped furniture for 3 weeks, and has delayed sale of existing home ( couldn't show house during same time frame ). In addition to the tremendous frustration and inconvenience, resulted in additional loan costs to extend interest rate on mortgage loan. I have 8 pages of documentation ( attached ), all emails and text messages to show the incompetence and extremely poor service. XXXX XXXX finally did reimburse for the added cost of extending interest rate. But First Financial has done nothing to resolve the matter and I don't believe what XXXX XXXX has done is sufficient resolution to the issue. Filed complaint with XXXX ( ID XXXX ) that was not resolved. First Financial contacted me an indicated they were not at fault and indicated it was due to lack of communication and information from XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX simply points the finger at First Financial as the problem. Both were at fault an extremely incompetent in the services provided.

On XX/XX/2021 my account had a positive balance and started to receive multiple overdrafts per day at {$37.00} each for no reason. My account was never negative and when i spoke to someone at the branch, the teller claimed that a merchant, XXXX XXXX who debited my account in the amount of {$82.00} with card ending in XXXX. It was a temporary hold on XX/XX/2021 in which the transaction expired and the charge had fallen off and officially posted on XX/XX/2021. Between XX/XX/2021 and XX/XX/2021 I was charged {$37.00} a day numerous times. My first attempt to have this issue corrected resulted in the branch stating their systems were down and there was nothing they could do. While the systems were down, i continued to receive overdrafts. On XX/XX/2021 the branch only agreed to refund {$200.00} back into my account. There should have never been any fees period. This is a demand letter that the remaining fees are refunded back to me. I had deposits going in the account and the account was always positive balance. I contacted XXXX XXXX and they advised that they dont have the authority to place any kind of internal holds on my account. The branch was trying to rip me off and keep my money, not allowing my deposits to cover transactions trying to clear.

In the past few days, my wife and I both received letters stating that XXXX denied our equity line of credit loan application ( to pay off an existing XXXX at another bank ). I immediately asked XXXX to correct their records to reflect the truth regarding the status of our loan application. As a result of the bank 's poor communications with me after I first inquired about an equity line of credit, I lost faith in working with the organization as a lender, so I emailed their employees on XX/XX/2023 and directed them to cancel the loan application. After that, both my wife and I continued to receive multiple emails, at first requesting additional documents, and then requesting our signatures because the loan had been approved. On or about XX/XX/2023 I complained in writing to the bank, asking them to stop sending us unwanted messages. Then we received the correspondence that we were denied the loan. That denial letters appear to be XXXX 's attempt to get back at us for notifying them that we were unhappy with the service we received from their employees. We expect those letters of denial to reflect negatively on our excellent credit scores, so we intend to take all reasonable steps to ensure that they correct this error.

Opened an account at First Financial Bank on XX/XX/XXXX. They had or still have a new account bonus for {$200.00}. You get the bonus if you complete the requirements, which is 3 debit card transactions after opening account within a certain amount of time. I completed the requirements by XX/XX/XXXX. Waited 2 weeks and called since I haven't gotten my bonus yet. The rep told me I have to be within a XXXX distance of a branch in order to get the bonus. They were not willing to make an exception. Nowhere on website or during the application is this mention. They only allow people who reside in IL, IN, KY and OH to open in account with them. Anybody else they deny. My issue is they allowed me to open an account ( I live in IL ), let me put my money into it and use it but don't want to give me the bonus. I am not that further than XXXX requirement, closest branch is about XXXX miles away. They put an odd requirement in order to not have to pay people the bonus. I would be more understanding if I was really far away, but I am not. I was going to use this account on regular basis, but I will no longer do that due to this negative experience. I will be closing this account as soon as I am able to.

First Financial withdrew a extra {$200.00} January 11, 2023. My normal mortgage payment is {$520.00}. I called First Financial and was informed there was a {$1500.00} escrow deficiency re property tax though the XXXX XXXX treasurer confirms my bill is almost {$400.00} LESS than First Financial estimated in XX/XX/XXXX. When I spoke to FF they also confirmed the lower tax number and then one rep implied I would be paying {$200.00} per month I definitely thought the deficiency was fixed at {$1500.00} meaning after 7-8 months it should end the extra payments of {$200.00} and I should return to regular payments of $ XXXX per month. It is obvious that FF bank processes are completely flawed in how escrow and property tax are calculated. I want a full explanation of how many extra payments are due to cure the {$1500.00} alleged deficiency and a reassessment of ACTUAL property tax VERSUS ESTIMATES FROM XX/XX/XXXX. At a minimum, FF practices are unethical and maybe illegal. FF claims it will investigate and call me back by XX/XX/XXXX. I do not trust FF so I am document this in a formal complaint to ensure they respond and fix this. Listen to the recorded call.

I have been getting an ENORMOUS amount of calls from various numbers out of Ohio. I have asked them to stop calling me, I have asked to talk to management, I have told them I'm going to report them and the calls persist. Two weeks ago the calls started at XXXX Monday & totaled 15 calls by Wednesday. When I ask what this is a about they say they are calling from " First Financial about the loan I was approved for ''. I have never used this financial institution nor have I applied for any loans in years. I XXXX First Financial and have found that this is likely fraud. I have blocked every number they have called from and they find new ways to contact me. This is harassment plain and simple and I need it to stop. They call mostly during business hours and I have a job. I need to not be bothered with this outfit anymore. Please and thank you for looking into this and shutting them down. I'm on the Colorado no call list & my understanding is there are serious repercussions for violating that list. I'd like them to punished by whatever measure can be enforced.

I made a payment to my second mortgage account at First First Financial Bank on XX/XX/2020. That payment was due on the XXXX of XXXX. The teller who took the payment did not apply the payment to my account. I noticed the error when I received the next months statement. I sent a notice of error letter to First Financial Bank, to the address listed on the back of the statement, and I requested they correct the error to include correcting the interest charged. I received a letter from First Financial dated XX/XX/2020 stating they had " addressed '' my concerns regarding the account. When I received my XXXX statement I noticed they not corrected the interest charge. Rather than reducing the interest they more than doubled what I should have paid. I have had numerous problems with this bank. I hope that by filing this complaint I can not only resolve this issue but also warn other consumers about how absolutely corrupt this bank is.

In 2020, I opened an account with First Financial Bank under an active promotion they had that advertised a {$100.00} signup bonus to the customer and {$100.00} donation to XXXX XXXX upon meeting the requirements. The requirements were : use promo code " XXXX '' and have a direct deposit made to the account. I completed those requirements and never received any bonus. Repeated calls to customer service yielded a multitude of inconsistent responses ultimately refusing to pay out the bonus. I have a screenshot of when I signed up with the bonus stating full terms, however the bank updated their disclosures on their website after the fact, and are now referring back to the updated page to preclude me from getting the bonus. This sly act is eroding the integrity of this bank and I respectfully request that the bank pays out the bonus that was due to me.

It was opened in person and with reference code as per flyer available at branch. The bonus amount or {$200.00} was in relation to meet requirements to be accomplished by account holder. But we could not ascertain the terms of bonus. It seemed like lost. I could say the head office will have the flyers and record of scheme that was available by XX/XX/2021.

I have attempted repeatedly to have First Financial Bank report my mortgage payments to the credit bureaus by filing disputes. My mortgage is current and the payments have been timely the past 6 months, however, they are not showing the account as open, but closed and have not reported any payments whatsoever.
