The debt in question was deleted from my bureau reports several years ago after a failure to validate on the part of a different collector.
This collector ( First Collect of XXXX, Delaware ) is clearly a junk debt buyer. They purchased the old file and made attempts to collect via a dunning letter. In my response I requested validation. I received the validation and immediately recognized the old deleted debt. I replied with another letter indicating that the debt had previously been deleted. Further, the statute of limitations for reporting passed no later than XXXX XXXX.
First Collect proceeded to make an entry to my bureau reports despite having been advised of the SoL and the previous deletion. The also falsely reported to XXXX that the " account '' had been opened on XXXX XXXX, clearly the date that they bought the junk debt but misrepresenting that it was a new debt and/or a new delinquency.
They have revived a dead account, ignored the statute of limitations even when their own " validation '' document supports my position, and they have violated the law by falsifying the date and character of the debt in my credit reports.

I received a letter about an unpaid debt ( which is not real - I have no unpaid debts ). The letter threatened wage garnishment unless I paid them, or I could give them all my dependents ' names and Social Security numbers to have the amount reduced. This is an incredibly obvious scam, but I can see people still falling for it.
