My case happened in 2013 but I only heard about you now. I found " First American Mitigators '' as a law firm specializing in loan modifications. I contacted them, and based on our conversation, they agreed to take on my case, assuring me, that they would negotiate a loan modification with my lender, in order for me and my children to be able to stay in our house after my ex husband had moved out.
I paid them {$5000.00}. Months went by without any news. They had also advised me to not pay my mortgage while the negotiations were going on. Every time, I called them to get an update on the situation, I was told to be patient and that they were working on it. A year later, I received a letter from my lender, notifying me that my property was going into foreclosure.
