I contacted XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX to check in and inquire about the Income-Driven Repayment plan for my Federal Student Loans and if there were any changes due to Covid-19. During the call I was quickly encouraged to initiate a loan consolidation now before payments were required in XXXX. I was told my Income-Driven Repayment would be continued and Student Loan Forgiveness was discussed. I was required to pay {$390.00} to initiate the consolidation and would receive documents in 5-7 days that would require me to send back 2 paystubs, plus provide two references. The {$390.00} charged to my XXXX account on XX/XX/XXXX. The agent stated that based on my income I could expect my payment to be $ XXXX beginning in XX/XX/XXXX. I received the document packet and instead of " XXXX '' on the folder and return address it was " Federal Student Loan Doc Prep ''. I assumed this was a third party that XXXX worked with, so completed and submitted. Then on XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter from XXXX XXXX XXXX '' in regards to the Consolidation Loan Details. This letter mentions that the Income-Driven Repayment information was not received to determine if I qualified, and suggested I visit my account. I then tried logging into my XXXX account and my username was not correct. I attempted the XXXX XXXX website and the recovery email was not my email, but was similar. Everything was feeling unusual now about the entire process, so I decided to contact XXXX by phone again on Monday XXXX today XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX. Today when I spoke with XXXX, I was informed that there are NO FEES to consolidate a Federal Student Loan. She said I must have been working with a third party, but I had only contacted XXXX. Somehow, Federal Student Loan Doc Prep had intercepted the incoming call that I made to XXXX I have contacted my bank and blocked Federal Student Loan Doc Prep from charging to my account again, and contacted XXXX XXXX to cancel the consolidation all together. Everytime XXXX attempt to call the Federal Student Loan Doc Prep number it goes to a voicemail. The XXXX agent today told me that my Income-Driven Repayment does not even need recertified until XX/XX/XXXX. The XXXX agent reset my account and added an additional password security. I'm not sure if the {$390.00} will be refunded, but I did file a fraud claim with the bank. The part of this that is so unnerving is that thought I was speaking with XXXX -- so trying to figure out how a third party became involved is confusing. Plus the fact the company created a new XXXX account without my knowledge. I'm flustered with myself for not being more diligent in vetting!!

It was advertised as LOAN FORGIVENESS SERVICE under the XXXX Umbrella. Spoke to a man named XXXX XXXX XXXX Ext # XXXX. Had me on the phone for over an hour. I explained to him I was sick for a few years LOST EVERYTHING & I HAD FILED BANKRUPTCY. Well he took all my information ect. He gave me all the right choices???? He put me on HOLD 15 MINS. Came back to the phone and OFFERED ME A 20 YEAR PLAN. Sounded real nice during that time I asked him WHATS THE CATCH. HE EXPLAINED TO ME SINCE I FILED BANKRUPTCY I WOULD MAKE A PERFECT Client???? XXXX told me the sooner I pay for the PLAN IN FULL. I COULD JUST REPORT MY EARNING EVERY YEAR FOR NEXT 20 and at {$500.00}. IT WOULD BE IDEAL. I MADE MY 1ST PAYMENT FROM MY CHECKING ACCT # XXXX FOR {$250.00} ON XX/XX/XXXX. Once payment went thur XXXX told me that a person named XXXX or XXXX would be getting in touch with me. 5 days later I WAS INFORMED THAT I WAS DENIED FOR THE LOAN FORGIVENESS PROGRAM. I CALLED SEVERAL TIMES JUST TO BE TOLD THAT THEY a Document Company. I WENT BACK AND FORTH WITH THE WOMAN NAMED XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX ; XXXX XXXX, SHE TOLD ME XXXX IS OUT OF THE OFFICE AND WOULD CALL ME AFTER THE HOLIDAY???? WELL ITS XX/XX/XXXX NO REFUND OR PHONE CALL. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM AND I WANT MY {$250.00} BACK. I DIDNT NEED THEM TO FILE ANY PAPERWORK ON MY BEHALF I COULD HAVE DONE THAT FOR FREE. THEY ADVERTISED AS A LOAN FORGIVENESS COMPANY. HOW MANY OTHER PEOPLE ARE OUT THERE????? PLEASE HELP ME GET MY MONEY BACK.
