In XX/XX/XXXX 2016 I was accepted into a XXXX program at XXXX College XXXX XXXX. I met with financial aid to finalize my admission process before starting the XXXX program XX/XX/XXXX 2016. Financial Aid representatives to the school notified me of not having any pell grant money and that i needed to sign a promissary note and some paperwork and that they would have an approved loan for me to attend school and not to worry. I signed documents and was able to start to my XXXX program. I made monthly payments starting in XX/XX/XXXX to American Student Financial Group ( ASFG ). I later found that the amount taken out in my name for " educational purposes '' was {$3600.00} at a repayment interest of 12 %. Outrageously high and with no alternate options to afford this loan I was forced into and lied to about having to take out in my name. The former XXXX XXXX XXXX closed it 's practice as a school as an educational institute unbeknownst to us as students on XX/XX/2016 via an email notification. I immediately when able contacted ASFG for guidance regarding my loan and was met with no resolutions. I requested loan discharge because the schools closure was a situation not at fault on my part. I attended classes regularly and paid my loan regularly. I was told there is no financial relief available from ASFG and that my account would not be deferred or discharged. I contacted and filed a grievance with the Texas Attorney Generals Office, Texas Board of XXXX, US Dept of Education, and the US Dept of Justice regarding the schools closure and its debtors naming ASFG as one. The US DOE worked with me in resolutions towards this situation. XXXX, my federal student loan service provider also assisted me with this situation. ASFG was in no way willing to assist and has since been notifying constantly of my account. I wanted to be a XXXX, a XXXX, a dream in process to be fulfilled with my sacrifices and hard work. Never would I have imagined this situation would be at my feet and never have I encountered such greedy lending institutions that have interest in a customers situation. I am at fault for wanting a further education for a better future, ASFG is at fault for practicing bad lending with a company who did not met their end of their contract. ASFG was contracted to the promissary of the former CEO/President to XXXX XXXX College regarding loan accounts/defaults would be assumed by the school and be the affairs of the school. Payment regarding the balance to the loan account would be purchased by XXXX XXXX former CEO/President who guaranteed those agreements in good faith to ASFG. Need less to say, the school has closed all loans are late, defaulting, and ASFG is currently in legal actions against XXXX XXXX for CEO/President to XXXX XXXX College. This breach of contract is with XXXX XXXX and ASFG and I should not be held accountable for this account. I received no degree as an end product from this situation. ASFG paid XXXX XXXX College and no monies were disbursed to myself as reason of proof said loan in my name is rightfully mine! The Texas Attorney Generals Office is investigating the ASFG of California lending practice as rendered to XXXX students/residents and will approach with their actions on our behalves as Texas residents.

I was a student at the XXXX in XXXX Texas I was affected by the sudden closure of the school that took place on XX/XX/2016. I was a new student my start date was XX/XX/2016 I was in my words " conned '' into signing a private school loan for the total of {$14000.00} with a XXXX % interest rate from a private loan company ASFG ( American Student Financial Group ) also known as XXXX of XXXX. I have been in contact with several women at the ASFG office XXXX on trying to have this loan cleared as I feel they have breached the contract but keep getting no answers and only being told I have to repay all the money and interest. I was only in school for XXXX weeks which was a total of XXXX school days I received nothing at all from XXXX of XXXX. I did not get to finish my first term due to the school closure. There for I was told I did not get any credit for my time nor did I qualify for transcripts due to not finishing my first term so I get no credit and no transcripts. I am being left with nothing but this loan I feel as if I am being robbed I have nothing to show for this loan but tears and stress this can not be okay. I am now receiving debt warning letters from a company named XXXX ( XXXX ) stating I am defaulting my loan obligations and need to repay this loan and interest. I made a total for XXXX payments when I was an active student the first was for {$100.00} and the second was for {$150.00} I have receipts and all fitting documents of my time of enrollment the ASFG company continues to tell me that this is my problem and obligation. I am reaching out for help or some guidance on what I can do to help clear this loan this can not be okay please help me. Thank you for your time

I was a XXXX student at XXXX XXXX College when they closed down making them in breach of contract. I never got to complete my degree. When we were in enrolled we were told that we would need to take out a private loan to cover the remainder of the balance. We did this and the private loan went directly to the school never touching my hands. I did not request a stipend check for living so this private loan was solely for the school. In XXXX of 2016 XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX closed down and left us with all of these loans. I have called the lender and they stated I would still be responsible for the loan even though XXXX XXXX was in breach of contract. I have given up so much and missed out on so much for this school. I will have to restart my program elsewhere and put my life on hold for another year or so. I do n't believe I should be held responsible for this loan at all being that it went to the school not to myself. I stopped working so I could concentrate on school I feel like I had given my all for nothing. XXXX XXXX convinced me to get the loan out. I did n't even know it was growing interest while I was still attending. I feel that XXXX XXXX breached their contract so I should not be held responsible for this loan or at least not the full amount. While I was attending school I was making monthly payments to the private loan as instructed by the school. XXXX XXXX made it known that we would not be able to attend scho and would be dropped if payments were not made monthly. I consider myself uneducated on the whole private loan and interest thing. I was supposed to finish school this XXXX. Now I am set back. I really hope that I can receive assistance on this matter.

I attended XXXX XXXX 11 years ago. When attending I was young and unaware of the paperwork I was signing. I had no copies of my paperwork or student file! After further investigation this year of paperwork finally provided by the school, this month. The school is saying I never did an exit interview. I never received it! On the alleged exit interview paperwork it says I received a : 1. Federal Direct Subsidized loan for XXXX 2. Federal Direct Unsubsidized loan for XXXX 3. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX loan for XXXX Loan # 3 is what Im challenging. This loan was fronted by the school and paid for by the school. I was responsible for paying the school back once I dropped out of the program because they paid the loan for me. The school is now saying I owe them {$14000.00}. There is fraudulent activity going on. I was never told of XXXX when enrolling. I was told by XXXX that I was enrolling into a HELP loan program that was provided by the school. I never signed nor agreed to a loan with XXXX. XXXX was just just found guilty of defrauding XXXX XXXX XXXX in 2018 for the same exact situation. I believe these charges are fraudulent and I want the school to be held accountable. They have harassed me for years for this money. I want all the money I paid to this fraudulent loan returned. I tried uphold and clear a debt a I thought I owed. However, this isnt my debt! It wasnt made clear to me. They took advantage of my situation and they took money from me for profit.

I was attending XXXX XXXX XXXX when it closed it 's doors XXXX XXXX, 2016. I started school XXXX XXXX, 2016. In order to go back to school I had to take out a loan through the school for around {$13000.00} at a 12 % interest rate. I thought that this loan would be divided up and distributed per semester, like Federal Loans are. I found out after the school closed down, that they released the entire amount to the school the end of XXXX. Because the school closed down and I had not completed my first term of school, I receive nothing. No grades, no credits, no transcript. Now the loan company is saying that I ow this {$13000.00} loan back to them. I took out that loan for an education, XXXX that I will not be receiving from the school that money was paid too. How can they expect me to owe that money if I am not getting anything in return for it? I have called ASFG and they have told me that they do not report to credit bureaus and that no other school would see that loan. Now that myself and other students have stopped paying the installments on this loan, they are threatening to report on our credit. I need help with having this loan cancelled as the school is in breach of contract with me. At no fault of my own, am I unable to finish out my education with XXXX XXXX XXXX, so therefore I feel they broke the contract on this loan and I should not be held responsible for paying any monies back.

I was a student at XXXX XXXX when it closed without notice. Now AsFg is threatening me altonapy back loans. When I started I was told I needed these loans to cover the cost and then found out during this process that this was not true. I had enough federal funds to cover and then some. They used unlawful tactics to gain access to this money on which I now am being harassed to pay back. The business practices of XXXX XXXX were unprofessional, unethical and sad to say the least. But now we are talking about straight thief and scamming. I do n't feel that I should suffer with debt that was unlawfully gain with lies and deception. I as a student did what I was ask and was honest. I believed tihe lies and trusted that XXXX XXXX stood on integrity. But I know see that the dishonest acts have left me accountable for the actions of this company. I would like this to be filed as a formal complaint and have this invested for full discharge.

I was a student of XXXX last XX/XX/XXXX. my XXXX shut its doors to us out of nowhere. I have a {$15000.00} private student loan with American Student Financial Group. My college was not to have used those funds until I started my XXXX term of school. The school was to exhaust my federal student loans first before touching my private loans. My school tuition totaled {$30000.00}. XXXX initially told me that my student loans were {$15000.00} and that in need another {$15000.00} to cover the cost through ASFG. That being said my private loan should have not be in use until the first week of my XXXX term. Unfortunately my school surprising shut down 1 week prior to taking our XXXX term finals. As of XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted ASFG and they told me that they are unable to discharge my loans. That they will off a discount on my principle loam. Which is absurd! Why am I going to pay {$15000.00} + 12/13 % interest on a loan I have not used.

I attended XXXX in XXXX Texas for the lvn program in which I began in XX/XX/2016. We were convinced to take out a private loan in which they breach their contract by shutting their doors with no notice in XX/XX/2016. I strongly believe I should not be held liable for paying the private loan in which I was not able to complete the course. I decided to to continue the teach out plan and will decide to enroll at a community college in three near future. If possible get the money I already paid to the private loan. When we contact the lender they have no option for us for forgiveness instead insist we will still owe as they already paid their funds to the college. I feel this is no fault to myself and wish for this to be clear

I was attending a XXXX school. I was 6 months in when the school closed. During my registration and financial aid process, they said I would have to take out loans to attend. One of the loans is from a private loan company. I agreed thinking that in the long run it will pay off when I receive a well-paying job with the education I had received. My school convinced me to take out this loan and then I believe they breached their end of the contract by closing down. Spoke to lender and they state I am unable to discharge loans. I do not feel that I should pay the full amount of the remaining loan considering that I was unable to finish school.

I was paying my loans monthly payments. I filed for bankruptcy on other debt that I owed which immdeiately placed my private student loan into default even though I did not include this loan in my bankruptcy, and I was still paying them. They sold my loan to a debt collector and never told me who they sold it to. Fast forward a year later- I am now receivign phone calls demanding I pay the full amount owed and they refuse to take any payments other than the full amount. They are also refusing to send me any documentation in the mail. My original loan was through AFG.

I attended XXXX and agreed to pay towards a loan while I was in school in order to remain an " active student ''. I agreed to pay this loan so that I may receive an education. As of XX/XX/XXXX, the school closed down. With the school closing down I unfortunately did not receive the purposed education. I am no longer attending school and have been asked to make payments starting XX/XX/XXXX. Because I was unable to finish, and I did n't receive an education, I do not believe I should be expected to repay any amount of that loan back.
