My father who served in the XXXX was Deceased on XX/XX/XXXX. I notified XXXX XX/XX/XXXX that my father had passed. They said they would take care of it when I called their customer service. On XX/XX/XXXX I spoke over the phone with attorney XXXX XXXX who filed what was needing in the court system my father had passed and the house was considered a homestead therefore a creditor could not come after the house once transferred into my name. I paid him {$1400.00} to file everything. Two weeks later my deceased father received a delinquency notice from XXXX. I called XXXX and they asked for money from the estate. They where informed there was nothing in the estate. They told me to apply the cash back bonus to the account. Several weeks later I received a call, a letter from Estate information Services. I informed them there is no estate. They said ok that was it. In XXXX XXXX I received calls and letters again from Estate information Services. I informed them the estate was insolvent. The rep replied ok. The next time I spoke with a rep they said they would still file a claim ... I told them it was insolvent.. I faxed them the court documents provided by my attorney .... A few days later I received another letter from Estate information service wanting me to settle on the account. I attempted to contact Estate information Service during regular business hours but they sent me to a voice mail and I asked them to stop attempting to collect from me. Do not call me again. Now, today I received court papers in the mail.

Written correspondence received on XX/XX/19 and they followed up with a phone call to me personally and also contacted a family member and disclosed confidential and personal information regarding the debt owed. Spouse passed away on XX/XX/19 and held a XXXX card. When I contacted XXXX about the death I was told by them that I am not personally liable for this debt and if there was an estate the estate would be liable. I told XXXX there was no estate. XXXX has given this account to a company called Estate Information Services, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, OH XXXX. XXXX # XXXX. They called a family member and disclosed confidential and personal information about the debt. This company said they found the information about the family member from the internet. How did they know who they were talking to -to disclose this information. This company could of verified that there was no probate proceeding by contacting the XXXX XXXX in the county where the decedent lived. They were asking even what the decedent had for vehicles. If they were told there was no estate that should take care of the account. It was embarrassing to have the family member contact me and disclose what personal and confidential information they related to the family member. If there was no estate why harass the family trying to collect this debt from persons not financially liable.

ESTATE INFORMATION SERVICES , LLC dba XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, OH. XXXX ATTENTION : GENERAL MANAGER REFERENCE : XXXX SUBJECT : XXXX XXXX XXXX I, XXXX XXXX residing at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX TX XXXX XXXX I am receipt of a letter that is dated on XXXX XXXX in regards to an alleged debt that is owed to XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX in the amount of {$2600.00}. I reviewed the letter and noticed that the date it was sent to me in XX/XX/2022. The letter had a completely different day to respond back to dispute the debt. The date in three areas are XX/XX/2022. How can I respond to a correspondence that is sent to me on XX/XX/2022 and it has XX/XX/2022 to respond back? I think this some type of scam and very suspicious an I want a complete investigation regarding ESTATE INFORMATION SERVICES , LLC dba XXXX XXXX practice of doing business with consumers. Why would I receive a letter instructing me to pay for alleged debt when all the information is different regarding how to dispute the matter? I know in midst of this Covid-19 era they have been loads of scams running around the country defrauding consumers. Please review all attached documents. Thank you, XXXX XXXX

I have been doing my due diligence to pay off my student loan debt. I have been in constant contact with the department of education and debt management and collections. I was notified how much I owe and who owned my debt. I have been paying for nearly 9 months now and yet I have three different collection agencies ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, and Estate Information Services , LLC dba EIS Collections ) contacting me telling me I owe money. Each claims to be collecting a debt from Navient ( which is what I am currently paying ). The amounts are extremely high ( nearly {$100000.00} ) in comparison to what I have been told I owe ( a lot less than that ). The department of education has told me these are fraudulent and that the money is not owed and told me to contact Ombudsman who opened three cases ( today XXXX/XXXX/2017 ) and told me to turn it into the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. These collection agencies have not only called and called and called me but have started harassing my family.

Hello, I am receiving collection letters from Estate Information Services , LLC XXXX for a debt by a deceased family member, whose Estate is insolvent. They have been notified in writing about this and continue to send letters for payment and calling leaving messages with other family members. The original company was XXXX XXXX, and I suspect they sold this to a collection agency. The letter is asking for {$2500.00} to settle the debt. Rec 'd the letter in XX/XX/XXXX. I attempted to call them and they only want to speak with my elderly mother, who has XXXX. I refuse to subject my mother to these tactics. She had an Estate Attorney who also has previously addressed this debt. My father has been deceased since XX/XX/XXXX.

XXXX OH, XXXX has left XXXX voice mails on my cell phone stating they are EIF Collections, a debt collector, and that I should call XXXX extension XXXX. I am assuming this is a fraudulent call, because I have $ -0- debt, other than credit cards, which I pay monthly when the bill comes, and a car payment, which I also pay on time monthly. I just now checked both mine, and my husband 's, free annual credit reports, XXXX, both of which indicated no issues at all. They also did not indicate any credit cards etc., other than those actually opened by ourselves. Thus, thankfully, there is no sign of ID theft.

Estate Information Services XXXX is a debt collector but makes it appear that they are assisting people with probate. They are not a law firm. They are in Ohio, my client who received a notice from them is in Texas. Nothing indicates they are attempting to collect a debt until you call them. This is outrageous and fraud. The letters they send say they can help you with probate, but the purpose is subterfuge to get information on the recipient 's decedent and on the executor.
