I am not sure if I contacted you already. My dad suggested I contact your company and I contacted someone but am not sure if it was this company. My situation.
I cosigned for a loan with a company called Elder Life Financial for a family friend. It was to be reimbursed by the VA. However, after getting the loan she became sick ( XXXX ) and passed away. I was unaware the proper paper work was filled out because although my name was on the loan I was never contacted unless a payment was late. Since her passing I have contacted the company numerous times ( upwards in the XXXX ). I have requested to speak to managers, anyone who can assist me in the situation and never received a call back. Most recently a gentlemen named XXXX XXXX who is in charge of the account supposedly has been contacted and left message after message with no response. Currently the payments sent our " interest only '' and have been for almost three years. The family friend making the payments as it was her mother the loan was for is on XXXX and can only afford a certain amount each month. It is difficult for me to assume responsibility for this loan as I am about to go back to XXXX in 6 weeks. Not to mention the company says the loan is to be paid in full by XX/XX/2016 and if not will turn it to collections. I can not get in touch with anyone to assist me with this matter. I have worked very hard to obtain a good credit standing and this is on the verge of ruining it. This is something I have no control over and I have no doubt it would have been handled properly had she not passed away. I am at a loss for what to do and would greatly appreciate any assistance you can give me. Thanks!
