Hello,I called an employer and was told they use XXXX. I called XXXX and had them walk me through on how to open an account. I noticed that they were a company that did verifications of employment in bulks. I advised the lady on the phone that I only needed one and she recommended their sister company Backgroundchecks.com BIG MISTAKE. I called Backgroundchecks.com and had them walk me through on how to create an account just like XXXX. Lady was really nice, walked me through and I noticed it cost a fee to create the account. I checked with my manager and she advised it would be okay so I proceeded. I ordered the VOE on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I sent the the borrowers authorization due to uploading the correct one, and it wanted me to create a whole new order rather than editing the one I had, so i reached out to XXXX and provided the corrected borrowers auth and advised I uploaded the wrong one. on XX/XX/XXXX I called BGC to confirm they received the borrowers auth I sent and the lady I spoke to advised they hadn't and to resend. On XX/XX/XXXX- I again sent the borrowers auth to a different email address that was provided to me (XXXX) XX/XX/XXXX- I receive an email asking for the borrowers authorization AGAIN. AGAIN I send it and call to confirm they received, I spoke to a woman who advised they did receive it and that they were going to pass it along to the verify-er On XX/XX/XXXX- I was advised that they sent it to the verify-er. XX/XX/XXXX- I fianlly called XXXX XXXX (the employment I was trying to verfy) and BEGGED them to put me on the phone with someone who could complete the verification of employment for me and that I ad been put through the ringer with BGC and that it had been a couple weeks and I needed this ASAP. They ended up completing it for me. TODAY my manager comes to me with two invoices from BGC, so I went to go to their website to see why we were charged TWO ADDITIONAL MORE TIMES and I was locked out of my account: "Either your current password has expired, or you have been assigned a temporary password. Please change your password to proceed." SO I called BGC and advised that I was locked out and that they had charged me twice and I wanted a refund, they advised that BGC do not provide refunds. Funny, they are quick to take your money and NOT TELL YOU, but cannot provide a refund. If you look at all the complaints, I do not understand how they are still in business but that is beside the point. This company needs to get shut down and stop scamming people for thir hard earned money. So now we were charged $XXXX for a VOE that was never completed or given to me and that I had to manually obtain myself.

We paid {$130.00} ( our credit card, XXXX XXXX, was charged on XXXX XXXX, XXXX ) for a background check from backgroundchecks.com ; the website promises the report in " 1-3 days '' but we still haven't received it and are given nonsensical reasons for their failure to supply what we've paid for. This is a company you've received massive numbers of complaints about in the past, usually from consumers who bought background checks they never received. See below : " Consumer Litigation and Regulatory Actions In XXXX, regulatory action was taken against backgroundchecks.comthen called e-Background-checks.comby the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ( CFPB ) for not taking reasonable action to make sure the information in their reports was correct and for including prohibited information. The company and its affiliate XXXX XXXX XXXX were made to pay {$10.00} million in damages to affected consumers. It appears that the company subsequently changed their name to their current one. ''

In accordance with Fair Credit Reporting Act this creditor has violated my rights under 15 USC 1681, Section 602 and 6802, states I have the right to privacy, 15 USC 1681 Section 604, states a consumer reporting agency can not furnish an account without my written instructions under 15 USC 1666b I demanded under FCRA : Section 604 : 1. Permissible Purpose 2. My written authorization 3. Proof that I personally initiated this inquiry. This creditor did NOT provide me strict proof or DELETED the item immediately. Under 15 USC Section 623 you have 30 days to do a reasonable inquiry into this matter. This creditor didnt provide STRICT proof of authorization after 30 days, therefore they must delete this fraudulent inaccurate account, If you do not delete the account immediately I will I will have no other choice but to have my local Congressman promptly forward a formal complaint to the Federal Trade Commission and Attorney General for further scrutiny of this matter.

On Friday, XXXX XXXX, XXXX I received a CFPB settlement check from E-Backgroundchecks.com dated XXXX/XXXX/XXXX, Check Number XXXX, Invoice Number XXXX in the amount of {$910.00} that would void if not ashed within 180 days of the original issue date. I called E-Backgroundscheck.com on Monday, XXXX XXXX, XXXX at XXXX CDT and spoke to XXXX XXXX who told me that they re unable to reissue a new check because the check was not cashed within 180 days. This check did not show up in my mailbox for nearly two years and I am requesting that a check be reissued since I was wrongly discriminated against on an employment application as a result of information that was wrongly provided by E-Backgroundchecks.com to a potential employer. I am requesting your help in getting this check reissued. I am also providing a copy of the check and cover letter that was mailed to me as supporting documentation. In XXXX of XXXX, Backgroundchecks.com reported that they would not be able to freeze or opt me out of their consumer information database. Since this report accessed by POF and Tinder without my knowledge ( these companies likely included the requirement to pass a background check in their TOS, but I never explicitly authorized a background check nor did I ever receive any notification of one being performed ), I want to freeze this report so that only very intentional applications should be considered. Backgroundchecks.com claims that freezing reports is not required by the FCRA " or any other law ''. Given that they sell almost all data imaginable, this is terrifyingly obscure and opens me up to untold data collection with no ability to restrict it. See their own site at XXXX XXXX XXXX

I sent an email to XXXX asking to execute my rights under the FCRA and Utah Privacy law to understand what data they have on me. Their process was to email me back from noreply@hireright.com asking me to submit photo copies of my license and passport as well as give them my entire SSN. I understand validating who I am by asking for information and maybe a bill or statement that shows my current address, but they want me to give them the most sensitive information on me in order to see if they have information on me? Their process is deceptive and unacceptable. This puts consumers at additional risk.
