On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter dated XX/XX/XXXX from a law firm, Durham & Durham LLP at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX, GA XXXX, stating that I owed {$1100.00} to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, for a date of service on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX I wrote a letter and placed it into the mail ( and have photos of same ), stating that I disputed the debt, and needed more information and verification of the debt. Specifically, I requested the name and address of the entity claiming the debt is owed, along with verification that the debt is owed. I received no response at all, until XX/XX/XXXX, when I received a letter dated XX/XX/XXXX. In this communication, no reference whatsoever was made to my request for verification and additional information. I note that the communication says that no attorney has reviewed the file, however, the communications appear to come on behalf of a law firm, and claim that the amount is your responsibility, which implies a legal review. I do not wish to be repeatedly contacted by a law firm by a person appearing to be an attorney ( who is not ) who also refuses for 4 months to verify the debt and to provide the statutorily required information. I believe multiple violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act have occurred.

I am disputing the validity of this debt/ bill. I have XXXX XXXX XXXX military ) and have had it since XX/XX/2009 which is 11 years. I contacted XXXX to inquire about this bill and I was advised that the claim was never submitted to XXXX for payment. I was advised to call XXXX XXXX XXXX and have them submit the bill for payment and the rep at XXXX advised they would not submit the bill because the claim was old even though XXXX advised to resubmit. Instead, the rep offered me a settlement of the bill in which I declined because my insurance should pick up the bill. Someone dropped the ball at the hospital in which I should not be at fault.

A company called Durham and Durham sent me a letter a couple of months ago about a bill that I was unaware of. I sent a letter to them requesting validation of the debt in XXXX through certified mail that the company received on XX/XX/2021. I did not receive validation of this debt. However, the company sent me a typed out letter filled with typos and also that included a HIPPA violation with a procedure code and diagnosis code. I am not sure how they received this information, but this is definitely a HIPPA violation of my privacy rights. I have attached the document to this complaint.
