XXXX XXXX XXXX.
I purchased a car from a small car dealership off XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX in XX/XX/2015. The company went out of business four years ago, I was still taking payments to the manager. He did not share with me that the company had folded, and he was still taking my payments from me. I found out that the loan was sold to another company. They repossessed the car stating that I never made payments. The car loan is not on my credit because the old company wrote the loan off and it was removed from my credit. The new company stated that they purchased the loan, and they stated that they served a letter to my mothers old address stating that I am still responsible for this loan, for a car that I no longer have. Clerical billing errors were made, payment mismanagement, and the companys record-keeping of customer files was unkempt.
I would have responded to them promptly If I would have received a notification to dispute these claims I would have provided all the money orders that I gave the dealership for payments. I cleaned all my files since the account was removed from my credit because the debt was removed. I am requesting that the errors be corrected and that any charges be removed.
Sincerely, XXXX XXXX XXXX
