If I only knew then what I know now ... credit debt was mounting, my Mom was laid off, my Grandmother needed help financially, and both still do. I chose to be a XXXX. My pay scale was pretty low in comparison to others I'd graduated with. I qualified for the Federal Law that would pay off the remainder of my student loans. Only I didn't, the way it was set up, people like me will never see a dime. You'd had to have consolidated with a specific lender and made payments on time for 10 years. I'd made the payments and stated I'd be willing to transfer the loan over to the designated lender. Trick was, the 10 year clock started all over again, and at a higher interest rate. What a joke! I've been paying on time since XXXX. XXXX is the 1st time I was forced to ask for and be granted a forbearance. XXXX just sold my student loans to another institution and I'm not even sure who that institution is. My father took ill in XXXX and passed in XXXX. I was, and still am, taking care of 3 households. I took the loan in the hopes of improving my credit score and I was desperate. Just because you're an XXXX doesn't mean that you are impervious to being a victim. I took out a personal loan with XXXX XXXX. I have attached all of the documents. The interest rate is/was INSANE. Almost 30 %, but out of desperation I did it. There were emails from XXXX XXXX on a regular basis telling me to re-apply for a new loan. This was under the guise that I would be able to essentially refinance the personal loan and obtain a lower interest rate. I tried several times at their prompting. I was denied each time and each time I re-applied, my credit score went down further because of the additional inquiries. I contacted XXXX XXXX directly and attempted to negotiate a new lower interest rate. The payments were over {$600.00} per month. They refused to even discuss it and shut me down immediately. I ended up going to DMB, a debt settlement company, hoping to avoid bankruptcy. They told me they'd take care of everything, that in a few years everything will be much better. Stupidly, I signed with them. They began negotiations on my behalf. I had 2 accounts with XXXX XXXX, 1 with XXXX, 1 account with XXXX XXXX XXXX ( my 1st and oldest credit card ), and 2 accounts with XXXX. The XXXX accounts were not included along with my XXXX XXXX card. At the time, they did not have a balance. DMB said they'd most likely negotiate all the cards 1st and get those taken care of relatively quickly since the balances and interest rates were lower. They also stated that the monthly payments go to an account and from there, negotiations would be made, the more money in the account, the faster things would be paid off. Instead, they negotiated the loan with XXXX XXXX and my monthly payment was/is {$550.00} per month. I didn't realize at the time that the {$550.00} per month was going solely toward the XXXX XXXX account. Had I known that, I'd have simply negotiated settlement offers with the credit card companies, paid them off with the {$550.00} per month, and been done with them. When I asked DMB, they stated because the loan was for some much money with XXXX XXXX, they would most likely sue me, and that is why they started with that one. I thought they were negotiating all the accounts and then we'd decide which to do 1st, 2nd etc. At {$550.00} per month, without negotiating a settlement, I could've paid off XXXX and 1 XXXX XXXX account in a few months in full. Now XXXX, XXXX XXXX, and XXXX XXXX XXXX have all been turned over to collections and charged off. XX/XX/XXXX I lost my job. There is litigation pending over the loss of my employment. When I contacted DMB to apprise them of the situation, they stated that if I stopped making the payments, the agreement would be broken and XXXX XXXX could, and most likely would, sue me. I continued paying in XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX. I am now stopping payments and canceling the automatic withdrawal. I continue to look for a new job and am trying not to lose my home. I am on the verge of filing for bankruptcy because of these predators. And the thing I was desperately trying to avoid, bankruptcy, now looks like my only option at this point. My credit is forever ruined and it used to be in the 700s. Now it's in the 500s ; even IF a refinance on my house were possible, my credit score is so low, no bank would be willing. I am also filing a complaint against DMB here on this website. Both XXXX XXXX and DMB, I consider predators, who took advantage of me in my deep distress. They used my lack of knowledge in the financial fields and banking industry to their advantage. If I were still a XXXX, and not personally involved, I'd indict them for fraud and theft. I deliberately chose to be a XXXX because it was my calling. I wanted to try to help people and maybe leave the world a little better than I found it. I did so for over 14 years. I hope and pray something can be done about my situation. But my biggest incentive for filing these complaints, is that they are not able to do the same thing they did to me, to others. Thank you for your time and attention. It is very much appreciated. Sincerely, XXXX XXXX

DMB Financial added XXXX additional payments to my contract, which was for 42 payments of {$350.00} to pay of settlements made with 4 creditors. My total debt before settlement was XXXX. DMB settled for a total of {$9800.00}. After paying the full 42 payments, never missing any payments, I sent a total of {$14000.00} to DMB Financial, making their " service fee '' {$4900.00}. Some of the accounts were not settled until well after a year of starting the program. I was advised not to answer any phone calls from creditors, to either " ignore '' or " block '' them. I was not in default of behind on payments when first starting he program. I had a tremendous unforeseen family emergency that required me to seek help for debt relief. I was asked not to make any more payments so it was " easier '' to settle and show a hardship. I was promised that my credit would eventually be better than when I first started the program. Being I wasn't behind any payments at that time, my credit was not bad at all to begin with. It is much worse now and I have not missed any payments on any other accounts such as mortgage or car payment. I would like for someone to explain to me why an additional {$700.00} is needed to finish paying off my last creditor? How much out of that {$700.00} is DMB 's fee? I was left under the impression that all 4 creditors were going to be paid each month, splitting up the {$350.00} into 5 parts, 4 portions for my creditors and XXXX portion for DMB 's fee. How many payments did I make in the beginning before settling the first account that DMB put into their own pocket before starting negotiations with my creditors? I paid DMB Financial more than any of the creditors that were settled with. How is that helping people with their debt relief?

No response to my question of which debts they said having paid 2 smaller one? Upon recieving a credit report from dept relief program it showed all debts still the same only amounts had increased in dollar amounts due to continued late fees and interest. So in fact they hurt me even worse then original amounts we started with! I was told from the start that i qualified for {$27000.00} i said i didnt need that much reguardless my debt was only XXXX to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX After they figuered the amount i was currently paying was {$800.00} + per month that they're loan to me would drop my payment to {$370.00} a month and asked me how that sounded i responded that would be awesome so happy i wanted to cry i even told them that ( embarressingly ) and so i agreed thinking im on my way to being debt free in a couple 3 years right? Wrong, after paying the {$370.00} a month for 10 months then finding out through the other debt relief peogram nothing had changed but gotten worse! I did a deeper dig on DMB FINANCIAL i foubd that they had been sued a couple years prior for the exact same thing they were doing to me so i immediately requested to stop do not do anything from that point! I aso requested an immediate refund minus a small fee im sure they to try and keep. That happened near 2 weeks ago i asked for an update as to where we were on closing my account with DMB and have not got ta a reply as of XXXX I did however get a text message/ voicemail from a female from XXXX XXXX or something but didnt understand it. In result ive seen nothing or have heard anything from anyone! Thank you XXXX XXXX

Please make everyone aware of horrific tactics used by DMB Financial , LLC. I signed a contract with DMB in 2018 to assist me in debt management. I paid DMB monthly payments, and was asked to follow a process of not making payments to my creditors, not answering my creditors phone calls and signing over my authority to work with my creditors to DMB. Sadly, DMB ended up asking me to take back several of my accounts and they did not finish the rest of my program. They wanted me to continue with additional payments, which I can not afford because I had to fix the mess and much larger balances on the accounts I had to take back because of DMB. I also was sued by three creditors in the process. Also, in checking my credit report, I found out that DMB had reported a check lost in the mail excuse to one of my creditors, who charged off my account. Now, I have been rejected for an apartment due to my credit status. I am heartbroken that I ever believed this companys lies to me. Essentially, I was managing my credit and had a good credit report before DMB. Now, my credit is a mess. I simply do not know how to fix what DMB did. I can not believe I PAID this company to ruin my credit.

I hired DMB Financial to help me with my credit consolidation 4 years ago. I completed the program in XX/XX/2018, all accounts paid as agreed. I have made numerous calls requesting the end of program letter, to reflect that I have finished the program and have the extra money I paid, that remains in the account, refunded to me. I left numerous voicemail messages asking for a call back with negative results. When I do get someone on the phone they always say they have to email a different department for a response and that someone will call me back. I am attempting to purchase a home and need the end of program confirmation letter, and the 5 accounts I paid in the credit consolidation, be reported to credit bureau correctly. Part of the services I paid for was all that I just mentioned. Apparently, they are quick to take the money but don't follow through as agreed when I signed up with them. I need this resolved as soon as possible.

I have entered into a debt settlement with DMB Financial. My enrollment was XX/XX/XXXX I did not have any problems with them until I made a decision to close two accounts in XX/XX/XXXX. Additionally, I explained to her that I wanted to close my XXXX credit card account last four ( XXXX ). I asked her to tell me how much it cost to close these two accounts. She told me after talking to debt settlement consultant that I would have to pay XXXX cents. These express directives given by me to Ms. XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX I found out that neither account was closed. However, I was charged three debt settlement fees in excess of three thousand dollars. I hav documents supporting documents. I have called the new DMB agent XXXX XXXX on these areas. They have not returned my calls.

I am a XXXX year old XXXX veteran, and entered into an agreement with DMB financial in XX/XX/XXXX to settle my credit card debt. I ended the relationship with DMB in XX/XX/XXXX due to suspicious transactions, for example : settlement fees yet none of my accounts are settled, large number of payments and subsequent reverse payments, etc. Over that period, i have deposited {$6900.00} into a designated account. Upon ending the relationship with DMB, they sent a check for approximately {$900.00}. As of an email dated XX/XX/XXXX, none of the accounts are settled. Despite repeated requests ( from both my son and me ) to detail how the balance of the funds were used, we have not been able to obtain a clear answer. Often times they claim they must research the situation but do not follow up - and now that the relationship has ended, they will not service the account at all.

In XXXX of XXXX, I was in contact with DMB financial for debt settlement. I had 2 credit cards that I needed help with. XXXX and XXXX XXXX. I was told that both accounts would reach an agreement in 3-6 months and be settled and paid within 1 year. It is now XXXX of XXXX. Only one account has reach a settlement ( 7 months later ) and I have been paying {$700.00} per month into their escrow account. They then took {$4800.00} of my saved money to pay themselves. This one account will not be fully paid now until XX/XX/XXXX. My other account is not going to be addressed at all. The company is not responding to my inquiries about when they will handle my other account. And they lied about the time frame and cost of EVERYTHING. But they also say Im bound to a contract to keep paying them and not work directly with my credit card company.

I set up credit counseling with DMB Financial. I sent over {$10000.00} and none of my accounts were settled. I canceled the program to pay the debt myself. XXXX of my accounts had only XXXX months paid on the account. The settle amount that DMB had was different then what my creditor had which means the account should have been paid off. I am trying to get into my DMB account but it is saying it can not find a user name. I can not even get into the account to show all the funds I sent. I even increased the amount of money monthly to get the account pad faster.
