I owed a debt to XXXX XXXX. I was contacted by Direct Recovery to pay the debt. They also called my mother and in laws discussing the debt with them. I arranged to pay the debt off in 2 payments of {$160.00} and did so on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX and XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. At that time I asked the debt collector to stop contacting my family members. They apologized for doing so and said they would remove all family members from my account and their numbers would NEVER be called again which were my Mother and my in laws and my husband. I attempted to contact Direct Recovery by the number they had given me on our initial call. The person that answered said they were sorry but there were no accounts with them for me and they frequently get calls for Direct Recovery Services and they are Direct Recovery Inc and they wanted to warn me that the people that are calling me from DRS are a SCAM. I was at this point very upset and continued to try and reach out. I emailed the email I had from my initial call and asked that my 2nd payment be postponed until two weeks later. No one ever responded and the payment was taken from my account that week putting me even farther behind in debt. However, I was relieved to have the debt taken care of. The next week my in laws received ANOTHER call from Direct Recovery AGAIN providing details to them about the debt and that it was still owed. ( Even though it was paid in full ) I assured them it had to have been an oversight as this bill is paid and to let me know if they called again. I was so embarrassed that my in laws were told I owed a debt that I had gave up other bills to pay. Fast forward to this past Saturday they were calling my family members AGAIN and myself AND my husbands cell phone! This was EXTREMELY upsetting and I called the number they left. I spoke to a gentleman who never identified himself. He apologized for my being so upset. I asked why they are calling me and FAMILY members when the debt is PAID. He said it must have never been taken from the report and there was nothing he could do. He went on to say how busy they are and that he was working on his day off even though I have NO idea how this has anything to do with these people relentlessly harassing my family members and myself. Especially when the debt is PAID and they continue to call and harass not only me but my family. It is embarrassing and unethical and I am very upset over it as is my family. He did inadvertly read aloud emails received from me and read the email where I asked them to post pone the payment so I do know they received that email and IGNORED it even though the initial gentleman I spoke with had told me if ANY issues arose where I needed to change a payment just to email or call and NO problem at all they could change it. I told this current person they caused further financial hardships for me by taking the payment even when I had told them not to. Please please look into this! This company is unethical and they should be ashamed of them selves and the way that they conduct business. As I told them I am a hard working citizen doing my VERY best to get these debts taken care of as I can but I do NOT appreciate their harassing behavior especially when it involves my innocent family and my private information which they are sharing. And I fear they may be some sort of scam buying old debts and not actually applying the payments to the debt. This has all been very upsetting to myself and my family. Thank you for your time and understanding!

XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX called me on my work number by way of a robo call ( XXXX ), that left me a number ( XXXX ) to call back, and an account number and zip code. When I called back the person who immediately answered the phone did not state their name or the name of the company, she immediately said, thank you for holding. This was a cause for concern for me as usually when a call is answered at a business, the person answering the phone states the name of the business and their name, not thank you for holding especially when you were never on hold and had just dialed straight through. I asked the person who answered the call who they were and what was the nature of the call, she immediately asked me if the last 4 of my social was XXXX and if my date of birth was XXXX. I asked again who she was and the nature of the call and she refused to tell me who they were or the purpose of the call because I would not verify the last 4 of my social and date of birth. I explained to the person that I was not doing any of that and again asked who exactly this company was and what exactly the purpose of the call was regarding. Again the person stated that she was not able to do so unless I verified my personal information. I explained to the person that as far as I was concerned this could be a scam due to her lack of providing me the nature of the call, and more information regarding the company especially when this company was calling me at my place of employment with vague responses. The person yet again told me that she was not able to provide me any additional information without me first verifying my social security number and date of birth. My last statement to this person was that if in fact this was a personal business matter involving myself, that they needed to contact me on my personal cell number and not at my work number. The person asked me to verify my cell number to which my response was that if this was in fact anything dealing with me personally, and with them already utilizing my work number that they should obviously have my personal cell number. The person then stated that she would have my work number removed from their system. I've also attempted to visit the website that the robo call provided, however when utilizing the " account number '' provided by the robo call, the system is still asking that my information be verified without any indication what this is in regards to. For this reason I believe that this company is acting under false pretenses and could possibly be a scam to gain information from consumers. I have XXXX both telephone numbers, neither of which show to belong to a company called Direct Recovery Services LLC. I have however discovered others who have complaints about this robo caller, but again nothing to show evidence that this is a legitimate business.

On Monday, XX/XX/XXXX, someone named XXXX XXXX called my parents ' landline and said he got " failure to respond '' papers. He didn't describe who he was or what this was regarding. He told me to call XXXX. A XXXX search said this number is to " XXXX XXXX XXXX. '' However, the website he directed me to was for " Direct Recovery Services. '' He called from the number XXXX. Multiple websites say this is a scam phone number. On Wednesday XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XXXX called my parents ' landline again leaving a similar message to Monday 's. He once again didn't identify who he was with or what this was specifically regarding. He called from the same number as Monday, XX/XX/XXXX, but gave a different number to call back. It started with XXXX but I accidentally erased the number before writing all of it down. On Friday, XX/XX/XXXX, a phone call went to my parent 's landline. This message didn't give a name, who they were with, or what this was regarding. What it did say was that XXXX requested to have a hold put on my account, and that hold has expired. I have no idea what they're talking about, and I in absolutely no way whatsoever put a " hold '' on any accounts. This call came from XXXX. Many sites say this number is a scam and/or zombie debt collector scam. This message told me to call back at XXXX. A quick XXXX search pulls this number up with random results, including one being a general tech support line. On Monday, XX/XX/XXXX, at XXXX XXXX XXXX called my parents ' landline again. This time he said he had " authorization '' to give me a final call and that based on my " public record '' I'm not " this kind of person '' and should call him. I don't know what he thinks he's implying here, but it made me feel stalked and extremely threatened, and I *refuse* to engage with that. He gave me yet another different phone number to call back. This time the number was XXXX, and most XXXX search results pull up IRS scams. However, one PR site lists this as the company contact number for the XXXX XXXX On Wednesday, XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX, I received a call to my cell phone and my parents got a phone call on their landline. This recording didn't say who they were, who they were with, and only that they were " given special final authorization '' to allow me to resolve the matter by paying 60 % of whatever unnamed debt they've yet to outline. This message told me to call back XXXX. That XXXX search didn't reveal much of note. Though all of the messages told me to go to " Direct Recovery Services '' website, this is the only call that comes from a number linked to Direct Recovery Services.

On XX/XX/2019, I received a call from XXXX on my cell phone. There was a " robo-call '' message on my voice mail stating that the call was looking for XXXX XXXX, who is my brother. I did not retrieve the message until XX/XX/19. I called the number back on XX/XX/19 for the sole purpose of telling them that I have nothing to do with any debt for XXXX XXXX, and to remove my phone number from their system, and to not make any further calls to me. The first call was placed at XXXX eastern, and was answered by a gentleman who did not, and would not provide his name, nor would he provide the name of the company he was calling from. When he answered my call, he requested my name, and I told him I would not provide my name, that he was looking for someone for whom I have no responsibility for his debt. He asked me to tell him how to get in contact with XXXX XXXX, and I told him that was not my problem. He responded by telling me that they would keep calling until I responded. I again asked for his name and the name of his company, which again, he would not provide. The entire conversation, he was talking over me, so I don't know that he heard anything I had to say, since he wasn't listening. Finally he said " have a blessed day '' twice and hung up on me. I called for the second time at XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/19, this time I reached a woman I don't recall her giving me her name, but she did tell me the name of the company wad XXXX. I asked her what XXXX stands for, and she would not tell me, and hung up on me. I called for the third time at XXXX on XX/XX/19, and immediately asked for a supervisor. I was transferred to a gentleman who told me his name is XXXX XXXX. He confirmed the name of the company is actually DRS, and that it stood for Direct Recovery Services. I advised him that this was my third call to the company, and that I am calling to advise that I have nothing to do with XXXX 's debt, and I wanted my phone number removed from their system, and I did not want any further phone calls from their company. He assured me that the number was already removed. I went through the entire thing again, asking him to confirm that my number was removed. He confirmed that it was. Unfortunately, I have had similar issues with accounts that belong to my brother from other agencies, and it takes multiple contacts to actually get my phone number removed. I am filing this complaint because of their inappropriate tactics, they need to respond appropriately when they are called, not talk over callers and refuse to give their names and the name of their company.

Originally the loan was for XXXX, but it was removed due to a class action lawsuit. The fraudulent loans were reportedly issued by one bank, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, and three companies owned by XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX, and XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX allegedly provided services to the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and the XXXX companies. Several other companies, referred to as XXXX, acted as investors for the loan scheme. All of the involved companies have denied wrongdoing and maintain that their installment loans and cash advances on lines of credit were all legal under tribal laws. Consumers are eligible for the settlement if they obtained any of the following : Loan ( s ) from XXXX XXXX before XX/XX/XXXX ; Loan ( s ) from XXXX XXXX XXXX ; XXXX XXXX ( s ) on a line of credit from XXXX before XX/XX/XXXX ; or XXXX XXXX ( s ) from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in Pennsylvania. The settlement will provide loan forgiveness for all covered loans. Class Members may also be eligible for a cash payment under the settlement. My loan was in year XXXX and qualified as one of the loans to be forgiven. The creditors removed the loan from my file, and I thought that was the end of it. But a collection company called. Direct Recovery Services ph : XXXX, XXXX has been calling both my phone numbers many time 's, saying I owe {$1200.00} which is false. Recieved call on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX, XXXX. I also have a recorded conversation from DRS, and informed them I was recording. I have received SEVERAL harassing phone calls from Direct Recovery Services. They simultaneously call me, my employer and my ex-husband 's cell phone number, whom I have not been married to since 1993, and leave an intimidating recorded message stating they have checked my history and I do not seem like a dead beat, they only have a short amount of time to work with me on the debt, no information is given as to what the debt is, by whom or the amount. Just an account number and their web address. I XXXX their company information and found they have HUNDREDS of complaints that have been filed regarding fraudulent accounts, harassing consumers with threatening messages and when consumers call they are treated rudely and disrespected by the agents they speak with to verify the information. I requested their information on this supposed collection account in writing. They refused to give me the information and never mailed a letter indicating I owed a debt and have 30 days to dispute it. I went further and went to their website and entered the account number I was given in the recorded message. It took me to an collection with a company called XXXX, XXXX. I XXXX the business name which is in fact XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ). I do have an account with them and have had for several years so fearing I was a victim of fraud, I contacted XXXX and chatted with an agent explaining the collection account. He confirmed that I do not have any past due balances with XXXX nor do I owe anything on my account nor has fraud been committed on my account. I asked him about the collection company and he had no knowledge of the company. I emailed Direct Recovery Services again requesting written verification of the debt and also attached the chat conversation with the XXXX agent. This company will not respond. I went to the XXXX XXXX XXXX and filed a formal complaint, they responded with it was on the consumer to request verification of the debt. This company has violated every law in the FCRA. I don't think this is a legitimate collection company and they should be held accountable.

Today I received 2 phone calls and a report of another call they made to my friend. The transcript of the phone message they left on my phone reads as follows : " The this is a confidential message for XXXX. If you are not XXXX you must hang up now. Hello. I am being asked to report back to you on your birthday, which is a concern. We had to put a hold on your matter at your request, and that is a good thing, but it has expired. So you must call XXXX. I will be available today until XXXX XXXX. XXXX. We do need to follow up or unfortunately, the matter will be taken out of our hands to pay online. Go to ww.w direct Recovery Services and click on the pay now link. Your account number is [ ... ] '' Shortly after my friend forwarded me the above message, I called the number to find out who called me. The individual who answered the phone was very abrupt and would not tell me to whom the debt is owed or how much. Instead they asked me for my SSN and DoB. I told them I would never give that information to anyone over the phone. I asked that I be removed from their calling list and that they cease and desist contact effective immediately. They responded saying, " You have a right to pay your debt .... '' I couldn't stand their yelling into my ear, so, I just hung up when I noticed that they weren't going to leave me alone. I followed up that conversation with the following email : " I just spoke with one of your staff asking me to give my SSN and DOB over the phone. 1. Send your proof of the debt you say I owe to P. O. Box [ ... ] 2. CEASE and Desist all phone call to me or any persons known to me effectively immediately. You called me three times today already and you say I have a " right to pay the bills. '' It's only scammers who have asked me for my SSN over the phone. I don't understand why anyone would yell at me for asking for a verification of their debt and providing them with a mode of contact I prefer. Their aggression is deeply troubling and I see that I am not the only one whom they've preferred explosive language -https : XXXX

I have been contacted by XXXX XXXX Direct Recovery Associates , Inc. XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, CA XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX Tel ( XXXX ) XXXX Fax on XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, where they demanded unreasonable amount of debt from be for {$23000.00}. I clearly asked them to dispute since I did not owe this amount to them and I was in a conversation with them, asked them questions and just in between, they did not answer any of my questions and sent me an email saying that either I pay or they report me to credit reporting agencies. 'Attached are the invoices and the first contract/agreement you signed and notarized. It comes with a {$10000.00} promissory note that is called upon if you failed to complete XXXX billing hours with our client for the job that they found for you. The second attached agreement was the one you signed when our client found you a project. Our client 's client wanted you on their W2, so you were to pay our client $ XXXX for the time you were on that project. As you know, you initially paid our client for a while, but then stopped. ' The above is the clarification they sent me. But, I was fired without given a notice from their client XXXX XXXX when I questioned them about the fake interviews and fake XXXX visas they provide to their customers in the promise of job and contracting them like a bonded labor. Now, they have reported me to the credit agency where my credit score has been blemished for 7 years. I do not understand the questions I asked for their wrong doings, followed by firing me and then reporting me to the credit agency. XXXX XXXX ( the other party ) asked me to XXXX the money with no properreceipt, so that they can evade the taxes. These invoices are created on a word document and just forwardedto me to send them unaccounted money. I'd appreciate if you could help me with this, I can provide you more details. I also have voice recordings where they forge and impersonate the candidate to get them a job and bond them to ask the money like this case.

On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a pre-recorded phone call on my cellular v-mail for my ex-husband. The company stated they represented Direct Recovery Services. I have saved the message for my ex-husband in case he needs to hire an attorney. The call came from XXXX. It stated he has until XXXX on Friday to call back to make arrangements or they will proceed with further action. They even left his account number on my v-mail and referred to their website for payment, www.directrecoveryservices.com. XXXX and I have been divorced for 19 years. This company previously called my home phone number about two months ago. At the time I told them we were no longer married, had not been since XX/XX/XXXX, and to cease placing calls to my phone numbers. I also provided them with XXXX 's cell phone number which works and who he works for if they want to place a call there. They have absolutely no reason to continue to call any of my numbers to reach him. Furthermore, I worked in collections and was a XXXX XXXX earlier in my career ( XX/XX/XXXXs ), so I am fully aware of collection laws, such as the Fair Debt Collection Act. What this company is doing is nothing more than harassment. I have asked them to stop calling my numbers, they know we are no longer married, yet they continue to call anyhow. I am assuming they believe humiliating XXXX will get him to pay his debts. It won't. There is a right way and a wrong way to go about collecting on a debt. This company completely crossed the line and needs to be held accountable. I called the number back and a person named XXXX XXXX answered. He claimed to be an account manager. When I told him about the repeated phone calls, and before I had the chance to give him the account number or my ex-husband 's name, he told me he removed my name and phone number from the database and hung up on me. I am also filing reports also with the KS state attorney 's general and the XXXX. I have alerted XXXX to the problem and he will be filing as well.

I received 3 voicemails today from this company on 2 different numbers that are listed to me. They were the same exact automated messages from phone numbers : XXXX and XXXX. I called the number back and it went to a Direct Recovery Services. Upon reaching a representative, they used several misleading statements that mislead me to believe that there are further consequences for not paying a credit card bill. The representative mentioned several times that she wanted to help me get into a " voluntary '' payment arrangement, which indicates the possibility of involuntary action in which this agency has no authority in doing so. The phone calls were automated calls to a cell phone without permission. The collector pushed for a payment today by using the word required when there is no requirement for me to get into an arrangement. The collector demanded a payment today, which overshadows the validation period of them sending me a letter and allowing me the opportunity to dispute the debt before demanding a payment today, and they verified my address so I know they have the correct address to send the paperwork to. President Trump has recently signed into law, the TRACED law in order to prevent these types of automated, misleading, and aggressive collection tactics and is increasing the amount of possible damages per phone call from {$1000.00} per call to {$10000.00} per call. After I already spoke to a representative, later on I received another call from a different number with the same voicemail that I already returned the call earlier that same day. Even when I do call them back, they still call repeatedly. I had more questions for the representative but she hung up on me once she figured out I wasn't believing her lies and threats and making payment today. Once there was no money, she hung up on me without even giving me the chance to finish my sentence. These collection tactics are some of the most aggressive and misleading that I've ever experienced.

I am having an ongoing harassment issue with XXXX XXXX XXXX doing business as DRS. they have repeatedly called family, friends, relatives, ex employers and current employers. Every number they have in their database they have called. i spoke with them, a woman who gave her name as : XXXX XXXX and a man who gave his name as simply " XXXX XXXX '' who refused to give me a first name. I asked them not to call my family or my employers, they told me they had the right to do so and would continue to do so. They have left messages in detail on answering machines and have caused me problems with family complaining about it to me. My ex supervisor called me to play the messages, which are insulting and humiliating. Worse of all i have no idea what they are collecting on. i have disputed information with them and the disputes go nowhere. When I call i am told they will continue to call because they have the right to do it and if I want to make the calls stop I have to pay them. This has gone on even after I called them on a recorded line on 3 occasions and asked them to stop harassing me and my family members,. I asked them not to call my job and definitely not to leave messages on any machines. All to no avail. XXXX has even called people in other states. Totally disheartening. I am looking into legal recourse, because not only will they not copy me on information in dispute now they are disregarding my numerous requests to have my privacy respected. my employment respected. I am asking this agency for oversight to this matter and nothing more. i am in need of assistance and have absolutely no confidence that this company will do the right thing. They have already shown me enough with their rude employees and worst practices to continue to navigate this problem on my own without outside assistance. Thank you kindly.

No one at Direct Recovery Services wants to talk to me. Attached is a screenshot from this morning showing my attempts to reach them at the number they provided : ( XXXX ) XXXX. I even tried the number on the XXXX XXXX website : ( XXXX ) XXXX but that goes to a VM that is full and can not accept any messages. After speaking with multiple DRS representatives today, XX/XX/XXXX, they seem to have blocked my number and do not wish to speak to me to resolve this matter. According to DRS, I have medical bills in collections which I owe yet they have failed to validate the debt. I have not received any written validation letters from DRS as of today ( mail nor email ). My initial contact with DRS was XX/XX/XXXX. That same day, I received an email opt-in ( which is attached here ) but no debt validation letter. Since they were able to send the opt-in email, I know they have the correct email address and that their domain ( directrecovery.org ) does not go to junk/spam on my end. Today, a DRS representative claimed that a validation of debt letter was sent via mail, then she quickly changed her story and said no letters have been mailed but they sent the validation notice via email. She did not say the date or time that the email was sent and would not provide any info. She did not even offer to send it again. I checked spam folders and have yet to receive any written correspondence from DRS other than the attached email. The burden of proof is on DRS to show me, the courts, and the CFPB that they did, in fact, send me a validation of debt letter via email within 5 days according to FDCPA. Because they have failed to validate such debt in a timely matter and now they won't even speak with me to resolve anything, I believe Direct Recovery Services LLC has violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

This is a print out from my father 's voice mail which is the same that I received. I called this number back and was directed to a male who was very unprofessional. Raising their voice and saying things such as and I quote " If it were me I would get off the couch and pay the bill '' as if to imply that I am just being lazy. These practices are against the law. I have not received anything in writing. Only phone calls threatening legal action. I have requested written documents but have not ever been given anything.

A company identifying themselves as XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX called my cell phone XXXX at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. The automated dialer asked if I was XXXX XXXX to press one and I think it said disregard call if not, this is an illegal non-compliant TCPA call that was made to my cell phone. I pressed one to tell them its a wrong number. The male agent was immediately defensive about me asking for the company name as if he didn't want to give it, he stated he didn't call me that the automated dialer did, I advised that was a problem, he was speaking over me and very unprofessional, he refused to give me an address to send correspondence to and hung up on me. I called back and the same thing happen again with a male agent I think the same one, again refused to give me an address for correspondence, I was online and asked if he was associated with the MN location and he said no XXXX, GA and was extremely unprofessional, said he didn't have anyone in their Compliance or Legal department and hung up on me again. They acted so deceptive and unprofessional that I felt an obligation to report them. I was going to mail them correspondence to not contact me anymore just in case verbal wasn't enough but instead ended up wasting time while I'm working to get an address from someone who called my cell phone for the wrong person. This company is clearly not living up to what they say on their website and I quote " We practice our PhD, or " Preserving Human Dignity, '' philosophy when talking to clients ... we will collect money while maintaining mutual respect. '' On the third call I reached a Mrs. XXXX who accidentally hung up on me, I called right back and she answered and gave me all of the requested address information. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, MN XXXX.

My mom received a phone call from a debt collector last month in XXXX. They stated they were looking for me, trying to collect a debt that they state I owe, the amount of the debt, company they say I owe, and so on. They told her that if I didn't call them then they would take it a step further and would sue me. " She didn't want that to happen did she? '' is what was said. According to online records the company shows that they are permanently closed. I also tried to call back and no one answered. Fast forward to today ( XX/XX/2021 ) and I receive a pre-recorded phone call regarding a debt. The message states they have been trying to reach me in regards to an arrangement with their client. No one again answered when I called back. I haven't received any correspondence from this company, nothing is on my credit report regarding a collections account, and I have never had a company contact my family. I don't even know what it is in regards to. My mom didn't even know how they got her information or why they were calling her. I haven't changed my cell phone number in over 15 years and haven't moved in 4 years. This company is calling my family and giving them all of this information for a debt I know nothing about. I am not a minor so it's not even legal. I contacted them again today by email and asked that they only contact me by writing, but I am at a loss for what to do. They have a class action lawsuit against them, horrible reviews on the XXXX, and most reviews say they are scammers. I am looking for the harassing phone calls to stop but I don't know what to do. The company states they are Direct Recovery Services and XXXX XXXX called me today. A lady called my mom but she didn't write down her name.

A company by the name of DRS has been texting and calling my mother and my sister on their own personal phones, and have also called my employer and I am not allowed phone calls at my job. The text they send my mother and sister is : Important Private Notice. XXXX XXXX call XXXX or XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX : XXXX & XXXX. When they call and my sister & mother answer and clearly tell them that the number theyre calling is not mine and has NEVER been my number they quickly hang up and call back the next day. The most recent date of contact for my mother and sister was today XX/XX/2019 and the first date of contact was in XX/XX/2019. I called them personally back in XX/XX/2019 and told them to stop calling me at my job as I was not allowed to receive phone calls. They did eventually stop so I believe. But now theyve moved onto contacting and harassing my family members. They said threading things like they were going to send police officers to their house to arrest them for not telling me them my exact where about so they could have me arrested. And my neighbor said she saw what looked like oddly dressed police officers at my door and when I called the local and state police department they have no record of anything and swore to me no officers were ever sent out to my house, not that day not EVER. So now Im extremely concerned for the safety of myself and my family members most of whom live thousands of miles away from me. I dont even know who this company is claiming to be collecting for and they call from a VOIP number so there is no way of betting any information on them. I have 2 recorded phone numbers that they call from, which I was able to reach them on by calling one of them back.

I received a call from this business this evening from a Georgia number. I am assuming that this number is spoofed since they asked me to callback a completely different number. I was at work so I did not immediately answer. I later received a call from my mother who explained to me that they left a voicemail with an account number while informing her that this was a debt collection call. They left the same exact recording that I received which included an account number and the fact that this was a debt collection call. I called the phone number on the voicemail and spoke to a representative that was very rude and unapologetic. She said that she has just received my account but when I asked why they had called my mother they said that they had been trying to call me for a year. My complaint is that they not only are using harassing methods of contact, they are not giving me any opportunity to call back without first calling my family. As the operator said, they " just got my account '' so there was no reason to contact other phone numbers. Additionally, they are illegally leaving account information on my family 's voicemails. The company also threatened that the will no longer use " voluntary '' means of communication. I am not sure what that means but it is also illegal. Finally, when I advised that they no longer had permission to contact my family, the representative ( Mrs. XXXX ) advised that they have every right to continue contact with my family. Since they have already reached me, this is incorrect and illegal. Since the debt collector continued to talk over me I disconnected the phone call. I am attaching the voicemail that was left on my and my mother 's voicemail.

I received a robocall from phone number ( XXXX ) XXXX looking for " XXXX '' and said to call ( XXXX ) XXXX to " find a voluntary resolution since the client has given authorization to rescind the process ''. The message went on to say " settlement options go down to 75 % you may pay online at www.directrecoveryservices.com ''. I called the original number and an XXXX XXXX asked for my name and claimed I took a pay day loan from a company I never heard of ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) back in 2013 and asked what my intentions are. I told them to send me the information to my mailing address per the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act as I do not recall such loan. XXXX XXXX said " You 're was stalling '' and said they could send it to my email. I said the law states within 5 days of today 's date verification of the debt should be mailed at my home address. XXXX XXXX got flustered, apparently unaware of the law. She then stated " You 're stalling, it 's on your credit report '' several times and said " we have had your account in our office for a long time '' and hung up on me. I called back and then a XXXX XXXX answered and tried to verify my personal information. I told her repeatedly that I do not give my information to people I do n't know. XXXX XXXX claims she needs to verify my personal information per California law. I said I 'm recording this conversation and said that it 's funny, they 're not following Federal law. I notified her I would be reporting them and not to call me back or I will report them further to the FBI. I 've attached a picture of my voicemail proving they called and I also have the recorded conversation.

I was called today several times from XXXX and they said they were looking for XXXX XXXX, I said that I was he, then the guy threw out a birth date and expected me to verify it. I had no idea who it was but when I said, what can I do for you, he said no it 's what I can do for you. You owe XXXX money! I said excuse me, I do not owe them money and he said yes I did and that I needed to pay it. I said no. But then he said I have been collecting debt from deadbeats like you since 1999 and you need to pay your obligation. I do not have any. I asked him to stop calling me as he was calling my private cell and he refused to do so. Then when I asked him to send me a signed contract he basically refused and said I will send you something. Something by law is not a signed contract. I do not owe his company DIRECT RECOVERY SERVICES anything. I do not have a signed contract with his company and I will not continue to be harassed by them. When I said you need to stop calling me he said put it in writing. Yeah okay, here it is, in writing an official compliant with the CFPB demanding that you cease and desist with all communication since you have violated the FDCPA by calling me when I asked you not to. I do not want anymore calls from you. I do not want any emails from you. I do not owe you anything so stop harassing me like you did today. You are a 3rd party collection agency and I do not owe you anything. Just because you bought a debt does not mean that I am contractually obligated to pay you anything especially when I do not owe anything to you. STOP CALLING ME

A phone number was calling me so I called back. The first person I spoke with asked if they asked for when I called and I said yes and then was put on hold. After a couple of minutes of being on hold I hung up and called back. When I called back the gentleman who answered the phone asked me if I was " XXXX XXXX '' and I said yes. I then asked him what company this was that was calling me and he said, " Direct Recovery Services ''. He then told me XXXX XXXX has hired them to collect the debt for them. I informed him I do not pay anything unless I have it in writing. He stated they have mailed notice out and I informed him I have not received it. I asked him to mail XXXX out because I do not pay anything over the phone unless I have proof of debt. There is so many scammers out there plus they do n't even answer their phone by stating the company name. I have no idea if they are legit or not. He told me to get in touch with XXXX and they will direct me to them. I again told the gentleman I do not pay anything over the phone without documentation. Rudely he told me they have sent out notices. I again told him I have not received any notice. I then told him he is not to call any other phone number except for my number XXXX so he does n't have to harass anyone else to just call me. He stated he was not harassing anyone and he is not going to mail out anymore notices and there will be no settlement offer. I told him I do n't pay unless I have proof of debt and I hung up. The gentleman on the phone was rude.

On XX/XX/2020, I was called from a spoofed number of XXXX and a voicemail was left that makes an implication of debt owed and that the call is an attempt to collect a debt. This called was also placed by an automated dialer for collection efforts which this company does not have consent to contact my phone number using automated dialing technology ( violation of TCPA ). This call was made to my phone number XXXX as well as my mothers cell phone number XXXX ( who is in no way attached to the claim and was located via skip tracing. The same voicemail was left on my mothers voicemail indicating a need for her to contact me and have me contact this office, again a violation of TCPA and now FDCPA. I contacted the office back and spoke with a representative who asked what my intentions with the debt were. When I advised I would like to review the matter further and may ultimately request to have the debt verified, he replied " So you aren't going to pay your debt '' laughed and hung up. I called back and spoke with another agent who advised me they were a 3rd party collector, calling on behalf of another client. I again asked for additional information so that I could further review the debt and decide if I should request a validation of debt. He advised he would email me a letter and notate the file. At no time did this company ethically or legally follow the collections laws established by FDCPA and also violated the TCPA in regards to automated calling efforts.

On XX/XX/2019 I received a call from a distant relative stating that they had received a call asking if they knew me and if so to have me call a provided phone number. I was provided the number and I did call. 'XXXX ' answered " Hello '' with virtually no introduction or phone system making it sound legit. He stated " I'm happy you called back so quickly '' with a clearly smug tone. I asked what company he is with and was informed " Direct Recovery Services ''. A company I have NEVER heard of or had any communication ( written or verbal ) with. He then asked me to verify the last four of my SS # which I refused given current Identify Theft statistics. After I refused and asked what this is about he said " If you won't verify then I'll just continue my investigation '' then stated " Good luck ''. I took this as a very threatening conversation and I am very nervous about what he may do next. I don't know anything about this alleged company and the debt ( whatever it is ) may very well be valid however the threatening tone of the conversation and the fact that they contact my distant relative who I have and would NEVER list as a reference or guarantor has me greatly concerned and now I have a " Looking over my shoulder '' feeling. I submitted a complaint to XXXX but I also wanted to try here, too. I am strongly considering a Police Report however with me being XXXX XXXX and dealing with all my Dr . Appointments I am not wanting to have to do that.

XX/XX/18 - This company ( Direct Recovery Services ) has my email, personal address, work number, and home phone number yet contacted a friend I haven't seen in 6 years at a number I did not reference for this loan. The loan in question was a payday loan of which the number that was called was never referenced on the loan application. The representative ( a XXXX XXXX ) called the friend and left a message on his voicemail with regards to my name, his company and the fact I had money owed, the amount, and why the payment didn't go through. The rep never clarified he was contacting my number but left the message anyway, of which is a violation of federal law. I received a text message from my friend with the subsequent voicemail left by XXXX XXXX from Direct Recovery Services. His message stated " I am trying to reach XXXX XXXX ( this is not a clarification nor did he confirm who he was talking to ). This is XXXX XXXX from Direct Recovery Services. I am calling about the payment arrangement of $ XXXX which didn't go through. I need a phone call at XXXX as soon as you get this message '' I have no problem paying the debt ( payments have gone through fine, this one in question did not and is being rectified ). I called XXXX XXXX back at which time I was berated about paying debts and " this wouldn't happen in the first place '', which I took as his breaking the law and contacting a friend or relative to discuss a debt.

My wife and father received calls From Direct Recovery Services regarding a supposed debt owed for XXXX XXXX and left messages on my wife 's, fathers and father in laws voicemails regarding my personal information, supposed debt owed to XXXX and threating to take further action if I failed to call them back. I never gave permission for them to call any of my family members as the date given for this supposed debt was prior to my current marriage. I have told this company on prior calls to remove all contact information for anyone other then myself and have asked for all documentation they have supporting this supposed debt to be mailed to me and it has not so again after todays voicemails left I called spoke to a XXXX XXXX and informed her of the violation as well as requesting the documents again, she informed me she would mail the information and remove all other call numbers. At this point with the multiple violations against my privacy and rights i fully expect this collection agency fined and held accountable and for them to absorb any and all supposed debts they continue to violate the law and calling me for. I am in possession of all mentioned voicemails left. I HAVE REQUESTED FOR NO MORE CALLS AND ONLY TO BE COMMUNICATED WITH VIA MAIL AND EXPECT THAT TO BE HONORED. IF the above is not honored I will pursue further actions under my rights from the FCRA and FDCPA

" XXXX XXXX who claims to work for Direct Recovery Services '' has launched a campaign of repeatedly harassing/threatening me about a " Debt '' that is likely not legitimate, NOR MINE!!. The other reason that I'm filing this complaint has to do with the fact that I'M NOT THE PERSON WHO THEY CLAIM OWES THEM!! This is is in direct violation of UDAAP & FDCPA & I'm on the national do not call registry & " Tim Bell '' knows this, they're claiming my little brother is the debtor they're targeting. They have been told by me at least 3 times & after I got angry because they keep calling me at work, they promised to call me all the time until I convince my brother to pay them!!! Another reason for this complaint is because before they knew if they were even contacting the right person, they were leaving very detailed voice-mails with my brother 's personal information!!! I'm BEYOND ANGRY & WANT SOME RETRIBUTION!! Regardless of a debt, you harass the wrong person, you gave out identifying information about your intended recipient to a 3rd party you don't know, you have been notified by me that I'm NOT your debtor, & you made threats to escalate your deceptive practices. You have broken many laws & I want you fired or at least fined & reprimanded, you forget easily that there's REAL PEOPLE on the other end of the phone!! My job is very important, yours ... .... Not so much,

Been getting Robocalls and maybe a legitimate human, not sure, from the company Direct Recovery Services. Ive looked it up online and MANY other people have had similar experiences like I have. First call I got, that I know of, is on XX/XX/22. It was a robocall saying it was a private message for me mentioned they had an account on me and did not go into detail. No threatening words, yet the voice changes a lot hinting use of a voice alternative software. They simply mentioned to pay my account Unknown balance, no information given to their website : http : //www.directrecoveryservices.com/ The account number I was given does not work in anyway, and immediately asks for personal information like my SSN. Second call : XX/XX/22 This robocall was NOT sent to me, but instead to one of my family members. I do not know how they got personal phone numbers, but the voicemail was sent over to me by my family member in question. This robocall started off the same This is a private message for MY NAME, if you are not MY NAME, please hang up yet very XXXX voiced. This voicemail was more threatening then the last, saying in a deep autogenerated tone that they spent too much time and service to reach me, and its in my very best interest to call them or legal action will be delivered. Again, Im not giving them any information Im just tired of getting calls from them.

Direct Recovery Services has contacted not only me, but the owner of my home. A recorded message states that XXXX XXXX, and " the client they are representing is going to move forward with their complaint but I still have time to rescind the process ... '' the recording goes on with a number to call, XXXX. The recording never states who is calling, what it 's regarding, if they are trying to collect a debt or not..I did some research and found that Direct Recovery Services also has an address and phone number in NY ; Direct Recovery Services , XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX NY XXXX. There are also two websites, www.directrecoveryservices.com and www.directrecoveryservices.org. Both sites are made with a " XXXX '' account which anyone can create if they want a URL. I am very suspicious of this bottom feeder collection agency ... And furthermore, I do not owe a debt. If you review the websites, you can see that this is not a legitimate organization. They have even copied the logos of the XXXX, XXXX and CFPB, to appear accredited and legitimate. ( You 'll find this on the directrecovery.com site ; the .org site says " member XXXX '' If they were part of the XXXX I would have easily found them on this site, but did not. I also checked XXXX, they are not listed. I am quite certain they are not accredited by the CFPB either.

The same call was made to my brother 's telephone line about me. When my attorney and I called back the number ( XXXX ), the person who picked up identified himself as " XXXX XXXX 's manager '' but refused to explain what the matter was at issue, did not identify himself at any point as a debt collector, or provide any information about what organization he represented with my attorney present, providing only a fax number to have my attorney show power of attorney, at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. From an online search, that fax number is associated with a firm named " Direct Recovery Services , LLC, '' with the following contact information : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX 1, XXXX XXXX, MN XXXX http : //www.directrecoveryservices.com/ ( XXXX ) XXXX To my knowledge, I do not owe any consumer debts. While I ordinarily would not file a complaint for a fraudulent scam to collect a nonexistent debt, I wanted to file this complaint officially because they misrepresented themselves to be federal officers and this could pose a real threat to unwitting consumers.

I have received numerous calls from this company and have submitted XXXX separate complaints prior to this one. On XXXX they called my brother, sister, wife, sister in law and nephew. They keep leaving recorded messages for me on my nephews voice mail. In the call to my sister on XX/XX/2016 they said they were calling from XXXX and said that I listed her as a contact person and that she does n't know but it may be a timing issue and that she needs her to verify some information and told my sister my address. My sister asked her to email her a copy where I put her down as a contact person. The woman said she 'll just put down that I falsified information. Firstly, I have never given this company or this person prior express consent. Second, they threatened legal action in an attempt to intimidate in a call to the cell phone of my mother in law. Thirdly, they disclosed the last XXXX digits of my social security # in a voice mail in a call placed to my mother in law. Fourthly, they placed a call using automated telephone equipment or an artificial or prerecorded voice to my cell phone as well as the cell phones of my mother in law, sister in law, brother, sister, nephew and wife. Fifthly, they disclosed my address to my sister. This company is menacing, threatening, stalking and harassing me and my family.

Between XX/XX/2016 and XX/XX/2016 my wife and I had a series of communications from various people all claiming to be working for Direct Recovery Services. These included phone calls from several different area codes (including calls to our son and my father in law via their phone numbers), an email and letter with a Minnesota address. We asked via phone and email XX/XX/XXXX for complete verification information on the debt so we could look into the matter. When this was not received by today (XX/XX/2016) I called the number on the letter and asked for the Senior Account Manager who signed it. I never got a straight answer on if that person was available but the gentleman who answered said she was one of his employees and he could handle everything. He gave me what I feel was a rushed pressure to settle with them or else pitch. When I explained we wanted complete verification info on the debt all he could give me was what he claimed to be the date and original bank account on our end for the original debt. My records and a call to the bank confirmed the account he gave me the number for was closed almost 2 years prior to the date he had in his records. When I called back with this info I had a shorter, more rushed conversation that ended with the rep hanging up on me.

The following account is listed on my credit report and is being reported in violation of 15 U.S. code 1681, 1692 and 623 ( A ) ( 1 ) ( B ). XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX This account was disputed directly with the creditor under 15 U.S. Code 1692 : 809 ( b ). Not only did the creditor ( collector ) Direct Recovery Services fail to comply, Also the required notice of dispute was not within 30 days of my dispute. section 623 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( B ) states that if a consumer notifies a furnisher that the consumer disputes the completeness or accuracy of any information reported by the furnisher, the furnisher may not subsequently report that information to a CRA without providing the notice of dispute. Accordingly, any reporting of this debt is a violation of 15 U.S. Code 1692 : 807 ( 8 ). 15 U.S. Code 1692 : 809 ( b ) requires a debt collector to provide written validation of the debt upon request by the consumer. During this time the agency must also " cease collection of the debt ''. if they do not comply within the time frame, any reporting of the debt thereafter is a violation of the law. Direct Recovery Services fail to comply with the law by not validating this alleged debt and they're still reporting it. Neither are they following the rules that were put in place to protect consumers.

The collection agency left 2 voicemails in one day. The first message was left at my employer on a recording and the second voicemail was left on my personal cell phone number. The first message was left XX/XX/20 between XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX. EST. The second voicemail was left on my personal cell phone at XXXX from a XXXX phone number. When I called in, the first representative hung up on me after I advised that I will be XXXX the number to ensure that the company is a legitimate company. The second representative was a male that indicated that he would notate the account in regards to the conversation. A settlement was offered and after he advised about the settlement, I advised him that there were 2 violations in regards to the FDCPA and he insisted on getting me to a supervisor but was unable to do so. He advised me to hang up and call in and ask for extension XXXX because that is the extension for supervisors. I called back and asked for extension XXXX and the female that answered indicated that there is not an extension XXXX ; however, gave her name and said that she is a supervisor. I advised the situation in regards the violations and she was very defensive. All representatives indicated that the calls were recorded and that she will forward the information.

On XXXX XXXX, I was contacted for the first time ( as far as I know ) from an unknown number. They left a voicemail that said my full name and that I have failed to respond and now they are trying one more time before ending voluntary communication. The voicemail said that they were willing to settle for 70 % of the debt or offer 12 month debt payments. It then gave the account number for my collection account. I immediately called them back and requested that they mail the information to me so I can verify the debt as I am unaware of this medical bill theyre referencing. Later that day, I got the EXACT same recorded message that had been left on my husbands Ex-wifes cell phone that she forwarded to my mother in law, who forwarded it to me. Id like it noted that I have no connection to my husbands ex-wife and there is NO reason they should be leaving all of this information on anyones voicemail- much less someone Im not even related to or in contact with. It should also be noted that the voicemail is a recording from XXXX XXXX. When you call back, everyone refuses to let you speak to him because they claim he is the guy that just leaves messages. I have the voicemail recordings available for both calls and can be sure that theyre both recordings!

I have been contacted several times by an automated call asked for someone who does not live with me and whom I do not know. Most calls went to my answering machine, but when I was at home I answered, waited on hold for a representative and explained that I did n't know who this person was that they were looking for and to please stop calling my house. I was assured several times that I would n't receive anymore calls, but they keep coming. Yesterday a message was on the machine from XXXX, who in a very threatening voice said that his company had spent enough time and ( money or energy? ) and that it was time to take care of it. I again called back this morning to tell XXXX he has the wrong number, instead I get another lady that said that she would remove my phone number. When I asked for a manager, she said she was a manager. When I asked for the business license number she refused to give it to me - she said that she had already given me the name of the company " Direct Recovery '' and that she did n't need to give me any more information. They are the ones who wo n't stop calling me and now it has escalated from automated calls to a person making threatening calls. Do I need to be worried that they can find my address too???

On/about XX/XX/2021, my cell phone and my business phone both rang with the same phone number. It was a robotic call. It didn't state the company name or what the call was in regards to. After work, I called the number and asked for the company name. I was told she couldn't give me any info unless I verified my identity with them. Once I verified my identity, she reluctantly gave me the company name. I told her to cease all communications to my work number or cell number and told her I only wanted to have communications via mail. I requested a full financial history of the debt to be mailed to my address. Within minutes after the call, the rep emailed me. On XX/XX/2021 I went onto the website and submitted a " contact us '' asking to cease all communications via email and phone calls and to only communication via USPS mail. I also requested a full financial transaction history of the debt to be mailed to my residence. Since this request was submitted, I've received at least one phone call per day on both my personal cell and my business phone. My boss has told me I'll be fired if the calls continue. I have not yet received the requested documentation in the mail, or any other way otherwise.

Direct Recovery Services has called me and members of my family claiming I owe {$2400.00} on a loan that I've never taken out. I told the representative that I have never taken out this loan. She told me that it doesn't matter. I still owe this money. I asked her to please give this information to me in writing and she would not. I asked her why the company that I supposedly owe this money to has never reached out to me and she said they would not ever contact me. I asked her to give me the companies contact information and she would not. She said this was for XXXX XXXX XXXX for a loan of {$2400.00} in XX/XX/2018. I double checked my credit report and I do not see any sort of loan for this company. I checked my bank transactions and do not see any sort of deposit into my account from this company for this amount. They are harassing my family and me. They refuse to provide me with adequate information about this supposed debt. I looked up the phone number for this person who called me and came up with nothing. I had to have her repeat what company she supposedly works for. She would not give me her full name. Her phone number is XXXX. It appears to be a number from Georgia.

I applied for and received a pat day loan from XXXX, of which I had paid off and extended the line of credit ( believe it was {$800.00} ) of which I paid a majority of. I had to stop paying them as I was embattled in alimony payments with an ex-wife. Since the alimony payments have stopped, XXXX sold the debt to direct recovery services who has called my parents, called my brother in law, and also call a friend I've known for 35 years. They disclosed amounts owed to these people in their quest to receive payment, which is illegal. Further, I contacted the company and requested that they communicate in writing via my email account, which they sent me an email and I returned and accepted their terms of communication. That was around XX/XX/2018. In that time, they have contacted family members of mine disclosing the amounts allegedly owed, despite my request for online communication, again which is a violation of FTC laws. Clearly this company ( or these companies ) have no regard for personal information nor do they uphold their standards to what is allowed by Federal Law. So I am filing this complaint so others know what to expect if they ever deal with these companies.

I received a call from a friend in Hawaii who advised me that some named XXXX XXXX representing himself from Direct Recovery Services at XXXX left her a message on her voicemail regarding a so-called debt collection and named me as the debtor. On her voicemail, XXXX XXXX shared account information on the recording. My friend has sent me recording. Not knowing what this was about but calling Direct Recovery Services out of concern, I got a female representative who was very rude. I asked her if it's legal for them to leave account information on a 3rd parties voicemail and she said yes. She attempted to say additional things in which I did not hear and when I asked if she could repeat what she said because I had not heard the last part of what she was saying clearly, she asked I needed any additional help but never repeated what she said as I asked, then she had stated she had another call holding and she hung up the phone on me. I didn't appreciate how this entire situation has been handled and I'm still not clear on what this is even about. I don't even think I have a debt with this agency and I believe they are committing fraudulent acts.

Direct Recovery Services has within the past two weeks contacted by brother, sister, brother in-laws, mom, ex husband, former employer and an old roommate. After my brother was contacted I called the number given to him and asked for clarification of debt or something in writing. The guy told me I was refusing to pay by asking that and wanted a debit card number for payment. I refused, he also stated to my brother in-law that it sounded like he didn't have a job and he could fill out a loan application. This harassment has caused extreme problems in my life and the constant phone calls to my family, ex family, ex employer and ex roommate are beyond extreme. I asked the gentleman that answered when I called how he got my brothers information and he said he looked up all of my contacts. My brother in-law was also told that I used him as a reference which I would never do because I can't stand him. They are asking for {$940.00} for a XX/XX/2016 debt that I don't recall having with XXXX. I had a previous loan with the company that was paid in full. These people are extremely rude, aggressive and vague on every conversation they have had.

After contacting the company on XX/XX/XXXX and telling them not to contact anyone in reference to my self or my wife they continued with the threatening robot calls to everyone. To this date this company has not sent a single letter or contacted us directly. When the rep came on the phone she stated this was in reference to a bank account in Arizona we closed over 6 years ago in good standing. She then made threats to proceed with further action if we failed to pay right away. When I told her to please proceed she threatened to have us sued or charged criminally for a debt she has yet to validate of XXXX for a bank we have not used in years and is not reported on our credit report. As I asked her for information to send correspondence she hung up the phone for the second time. We called back and were repeatedly hung up on.

Direct Recovery Services sent a text message to a friend of mine that included my name, the statement that it was an " Important Private matter '', as well as links and information that would easily give that person access to my private information. They insisted that they did not give out my information, as if no one could figure out what that text was about. Also, if you clicked on the links, all you had to do was answer yes to a couple of verification questions to gain access to the full information. When I called to get a mailing address to send these people a cease and desist letter. They transferred me, put me on hold, and one of the reps XXXX questioned my character, made a XXXX comment, and several other comments, when I told her all that I wanted was a mailing address. On XXXX/XXXX/16, I received a call from Direct Recovery Service in reference to a debt. In addition to my phone call my mother received a call and someone that does not have any information about the loan nor was named as references on the loan was contacted. I immediately contacted DRS and asked who else they contacted. The gentleman told me the same thing happened to him. I again asked who else he contacted and he said he did not have that information, he only autodials. I then asked which numbers he had, which were my daughter 's and my mother 's. I continued to press the gentleman for more details on the numbers he called in reference to my debt, yet he continued to say he can not find the numbers he called. I finally got the number for his parent company and confirmed the validity of the debt. My complaint is that DRS has obtained phone numbers and communicated to the third party that do not have a need to know of the debt in question. I am not denying that a debt is owed ; however, I believe DRS actions are not consistent with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

I did call on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX and the lady when I told her to not call my number anymore was rude and hu on me so I called back to make sure they do not call my phone anymore and the gentleman advised me he would do so. I received a call from my son today ( XX/XX/18 ), who lives in a different state and has no ties to my finances, asking why he was receiving a phone call about an {$800.00} debt I owed! XXXX XXXX XXXX uses a taped calling program that states " if you aren't _______ then please hang up. '' But most people are curious and will go on and listen anyway. This call released information that they were trying to collect a debt of {$800.00} and then proceeded to give information on how to pay it. This is NOT the way debt collectors should be allowed to communicate with those who owe a debt. This is wrong in every sense. I understand I owe the debt, but I do not have a job and was in a horrific accident months ago that has rendered me unemployable at the time. I do not expect ANYONE to contact people with information that can be damaging to them. This is just wrong that this company, or any company can release information about others under the notion they are doing it legally. This is embarrassing, harmful and can have devastating effects for consumers.

XXXX XXXX aka Direct Recovery Services calls my phone back to back to back if I do not answer. I was at work and they called 3 times within 5 minutes. I called the number back and a rude male begin yelling at me and when I told him not to call me back to back he threatened to sue me for a XXXX XXXX XXXX debt. I hung up on him and he calls me right back from another number. I attached the screenshot on the XX/XX/XXXX. This happens daily the back to back calls. So today XX/XX/XXXX they called 3 times between the hours of XXXX-XXXX I finally answer and advised the guy by the name of XXXX XXXX not to call me back to back and I advised him how many times they have called today he brushed off the fact that they are doing this. They constantly call from different numbers. So my XXXX year old daughter who is a XXXX XXXX XXXX and work part time come home from work and advised me that they have been calling her as well. I have printed out the screenshot of the calls for us both. They are harassing me over a debt I don't even owe. This can not be legal.

I have been repeatedly called by the collection agency " Direct Recovery Services '' from the telephone number XXXX. Every single day at the same time in the morning I get a phone call from them. I have told them in the past to not contact me via telephone. However, they then started calling my workplace. I spoke with a very aggressive/sarcastic man when they called my workplace. I told them to not continue to call my work to speak with me. This was sometime last month. Today, XX/XX/2021, I got a phone call from my grandmother. Apparently, this company is now calling my grandmother about my debt and she told me they have disclosed my debt situation to my grandmother and also told her to tell me I can settle the debt for 50 % and that it would " behoove me '' to do so. I am absolutely floored by this, and I believe it is definitely illegal for them to be doing this. I just feel this is over the top for a debt collection agency, and I could deal with them harassing me but now they are also harassing my family members about my debt.

When I reached out to them ( DRC ) and asked them how they are finding these numbers they said they use my social security number. I have asked them to STOP reaching out to my friends and family regarding my debt. They reached out to my ex trying to " verify '' my address and I have a restraining order against my ex for domestic XXXX. When I shared this with DRC they said legally they can do all the above and more. Now my ex has my address and family and friends know I owe a debt!!!!

Received repeated calls from Direct Recovery Services which were intended for someone else. These are at least weekly and not intended for me. When I called the number back to have my number removed and ask why I was receiving so many calls meant for other people, a man named XXXX XXXX screamed at me, shouted over me and told me I " need to stop barking like a dog, who do you think you are, do you know who you're talking to, you dont talk to me like that '' etc. I then asked for his name and what company he was with. He refused to answer. I then asked for his supervisor. He refused. I asked him again and he said " I tell you what, you can have my name, XXXX XXXX, Direct Recovery Services. Theres no manager here, theres only one person above me and thats the owner of the company and you aint gon na talk to them. '' This was all because I inquired about a calls I receive that are not meant for me. He basically told me to shut up and then maybe he'd answer my questions. I dont know this company and have XXXX debt.

I have been receiving calls for months however no one leaves a message on my voicemail. My phone provider provides scam screening and shows the calls from this number XXXX as spam. For the first time on Wednesday, XX/XX/2019 Direct Recovery calling from XXXX left a detailed message on my voicemail. The calls are for someone else and even after I notified them that this is the wrong number the calls continue. They are leaving detailed messages of someone else 's debt information on my voicemail. When I called the first time I spoke with a woman who refused to give me her name and then she hung up on me. The second call I made to them I spoke with a Mr. XXXX who asked me for my number and then tried to get my information AND told me to give the phone number and his ext to the person it was intended for.Still as of date Direct Recovery continues to call my phone multiple times a day. Sometimes leaving a very detailed message and sometimes no message at all. It is unclear how this company has MY PHONE NUMBER.

The ex-wife of my ex-husband of 25 years had a voice mail that she felt she needed to send me and it was a automated message about me and a debt. They did not say who they were in the voicemail. I called them back and told them to never call her again or anyone and that they shouldn't be leaving voice messages not knowing who they are leaving them with. I am not even sure why they are linking me with her. I called them to get the name of their company and to find out why they were calling. They only verified me by my caller ID. They didn't ask for any other information before telling me that I had a credit card that needed paid and they could take payment then. It was not the credit card company calling and the debt is from XX/XX/2016. I asked them to send me the information about the said account that I was not claiming it as mine or was paying something I was not sure about. They said they could email it. I gave them my email and got a an email to " opt-in '' which I am not doing.

XX/XX/2020- I often get scam calls on my i-phone. If the phone has a name, I pick up-if it's an unknown number, I don't pick up. Often the phone will state SCAM. I kept getting a call fromXXXX XXXX an unknown entity so I didn't pick up. THEN that caller phoned two of my friends! How could they have my friends ' numbers? My friend picked up and the caller asked for { my name } so my friend asked who they were and they said directrecovery Inc. so my friend gave me that number. I called what I assumed was a debt collect agency. They said I had a debt with XXXX XXXX XXXX and I told them I have never ordered anything ever from that company. They stated they would proceed with collecting the debt from my bank account. THEN they hung up. I tried to call back and no one ever picked up. They would not tell me the amount of the false debt. How could they have my bank account? How did they have my friends ' phone numbers? How can I stop them if they somehow have access to my bank account?

On XXXX XXXX, 2016 I was receiving calls from my family members and friends stating that a XXXX XXXX was calling and leaving messages stating they needed to reach me. I then called the number that was left on my phone and was able to reach someone. This person told me this was in regards to a debt. I quickly pointed out that I had not received anything in the mail in regards to this debt. She proceeds to become very angry and keeps questioning me as to when I will be able to pay the money. I explained to her not until I received written verification and had an attorney looked at it. She continued to harass me, yell at me for wanting to have my attorney look at and verify this debt and not allow me to speak until I finally just had enough and hung up. I am very upset and feel violated and embarrassed as they called every single person I have ever come into contact with. To make matters worse I was never given the name of the debt collection company.

I received a call from ( XXXX ) XXXX at XXXX XXXX on XXXX XXXX, 2018. They asked to speak with an individual I do not know. Typically, I just hang up the phone, but I have been receiving these calls so frequently that I decided to try to sort out the problem. I asked them to provide me with the caller 's name, organization, and purpose. The caller hung up on me, so I called back and went through a similar conversation with another person, XXXX XXXX. When asked who they represented, they said, " XXXX. '' Eventually, I was able to get them to say that the organization is Direct Recovery Services. I attempted to have a conversation with them regarding how they acquired my phone number and how to get them to stop calling me. This individual also hung up the phone in the middle of our conversation. I do n't know the person they are calling for, and I have repeatedly told them they have the wrong number and to stop calling.

They ( specifically XXXX XXXX ) called and left a nasty voicemail with threatening language about an old debt that I have repeatedly disputed. I have never had a credit card from the original creditor that is listed. XXXX became very aggravated and agressive in the voice mail and even caught himself at one point and pointed out his aggravation. He also mentioned it would " behoove '' me to pay in a threatening tone. Never in the message did XXXX or the automated voice inform me who was calling or who the original creditor of the debt was, but demanded payment on an invalid debt. I have received no paper communication from this company in the mail, else I would have disputed it as I have several times withother companies claiming I owe this debt. Not one of these companies has furnished any proof or an original contract that I owe such debt or have ever had such card. They simply say that I DO owe it.

My credit score is over 800 and I don't live in that zip code. I think this is a scam but am not sure so I am reporting it to as many departments as I can, like the no call list. I know that collectors can call debtors but since I am not he debtor that puts them in violation. This is not the first so called company to call me. I have been called a liar and several other names trying to get my phone off different list which is why I am not calling them. They havent tried contacting myself directly but have been calling friends who arent connected to me legally in any way. They have called multiple people which would require some serious information digging or online account stalking to get information from these acquaintances. They also said, it would behoove you to call before we take aggressive actions against you. I feel as that is some sort of threat against me. I dont even know what debt they are trying to refer to- I cant find their information on my credit report anywhere & the account number they gave results in an inaccessible account from the website of the company. Again, they have NEVER tried contacting me directly & the lengths theyve gone to reach out to these indirect acquaintances, along with the information they share ILLEGALLY makes me feel unsure about their integrity as a company.

Received initial call on XX/XX/XXXX and a subsequent text message on XX/XX/XXXX. Not once did the company disclose that theyre a collection agency. Looked up information and found out it is an old personal loan from XXXX. Received several calls afterwards regarding the same account. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a voicemail that stated it was a final call and based on my public record, I needed to take care of this matter. Knowing it was a debt that was no longer collectible in my state, I called the company and spoke with XXXX. I advised her that it is a debt that is over XXXX years old and therefore is not collectible. I also advised I would be contacting an attorney regarding this obvious violation. She then states if I can afford an attorney then I can pay the debt and hung up the phone. The company is Direct Recovery Services.

I do not give this information over the phone. I called back 3 times and without my social security number being verified. I am awaiting verification from them in my e-mail. They were unaware of the original claim and the particulars of what it was for. From my best information, it seems to be a debt about mental counseling, which never happened. I was living at a homeless shelter at the time of their supposed inquiry. I was under XXXX County Health District and never received XXXX XXXX XXXX so this is a totally bogus attempt to rip off the government. This company calls from assorted phone numbers, all of which are not active when called back, they use number spoofing and neighbor spoofing to call and threaten legal action. I have never dealt with them and will never return a call or " log into their website '' to do business with them. In veiled language they threaten legal action, disguised just enough to make it legal, but threatening none the less. They also threaten to contact you neighbors, friends and family and employer. They need to stop calling me or anyone they have on file with my account, cease and desist immediately! They don't even use a legitimate street address, how could you trust a scammer like this? They are a shady bill collector who uses scare tactics and less than legitimate technics to scare people.

This debt collector calls from XXXX and have been calling family members saying I have a debt and if I dont contact them I will be in a legal battle. My family have the recordings and dates of these harassing calls. I have not ever received any letters pertaining to such debt and in addition they address me using my married name which I have stopped using in all legal ways since my divorce 15 yrs ago. I did call them today to ask what this is all about and when I mentioned I havent carried that name in 15 yrs this representative wanted me to tell them my date of birth which I refused being they still havent told me the reason of the calls plus told them its illegal to disclose a debt to third parties. This representative cursed me and hung up.

Members of my family as well as myself have received calls from this company stated they are attempting to collect a debt. When I attempt to verify the name of the company or where the alleged debt originated from they disconnect the phone. Today on XX/XX/2022 I requested written documentation showing validity. I wouldn't even know who to expect mail from because the agents refuse to identify the name of the company. After calling several times someone answered and gave the company name before hanging up yet again. This debt is either not valid- or it is too old to be reported to my credit. Either way I would like the harassment to stop. The representatives are rude and have absolutely no intention of providing clear, concise answers.

I get repeated calls from ( XXXX ) XXXX & ( XXXX ) XXXX. They leave a message that this is a confidential matter and that they are trying to collect a debt. I do not identify myself on my VM, so they should not be leaving this message. They have also called my parents house and my ex-husband and left messages on their VM. They are not respecting my privacy. They say on the message to go to the website and enter the account number they give to pay the debt. I tried just to see if this is for a legit debt and the account number doesn't exist. As far as I'm concerned this is a scam. They threaten to take legal action if the debt is not paid. The voice on the message sounds like a robot. They identify themselves as Direct Recovery Services.

Direct Recovery Services LLC. I have received multiple calls from different numbers from this company. The same company recently contacted an acquaintance of mine and left a voicemail stating they were escalating the issue pertaining to a debt owed. When I attempted to call the numbers the associates on the other line were extremely rude and cursed and became irate when I would not confirm my identity. The associates would scold me and say I am not the one in control and refused to give me a mailing address to send a cease and desist letter. I also expressed they were not to call my number again. Each time I requested a physical mailing address they would hangup on me. They are attempting to collect a debt that they have not validated.

I recently received an automated and very scammy sounding voicemail claiming that I have an outstanding debt in collections with Direct Recovery Services, LLC., that voicemail directed me to their website to pay a balance of {$1600.00} A family member also received a semi-robotic voicemail with the same information, and notified me of it. I have requested that they provide me with verification of any debt which they claim to be owed by me, and likewise have notified them that I am filing a complaint with the consumer financial protection bureau. Further I insisted that they cease and desist from contacting any other parties and harassing my family about this alleged - and false - debt, lest I initiate legal action against them.

They stated that if I didnt pay, it would be reported negatively on my credit report. I did not call the phone number back in fear it was a scammer. I dont know how my husbands phone number was obtained. The number he has is a work phone number that he has to answer for all calls that he received were work related or Non-Essential. He is then responsible for repayment on his end if Non-Essential. This I feel is invasion on my privacy. They got my husbands work phone number and left a message about me without my permission. Any help would be much appreciated! Thank You!

I just today XXXX XX/XX/2020 XXXX received a physical letter saying they are collecting the debt of {$150.00}. They have today alone called my daughter, my brother in law, my sister, my father, my husband all before calling me at all. I will attach the message from my brother in law. As soon as I received a message ( they use a " unknown/spam '' number ) I called them. By then my phone was already ringing while on the call from them yet again, granted yet another number so I did not know until I got that message. After making an arrangement I called back and the woman was very rude and abusive.

In mid XXXX we started receiving phone calls at my grandma 's from some debt collector for my estranged mother. Neither I or my grandmother ( her ex mother in law of 30+ years ) have had anything to do with their client ( my biological mother ) in several years. I have told them this repeatedly! I even gave them a current phone number for her, and yet about once a week or so we still get calls from the collector. It's for about {$4000.00}. They are extremely rude, and I am terrified that they are going to do something to either of us but especially my grandma. It's not our debt! Please help!

After speaking to a rep named " XXXX '' I told her I did n't want to discuss this and I terminated the call and she immediately called me back telling me that she needed to verify who I was and needed more information. I advised her that she was not allowed to call me back after I hung up on her because she was with a third party collection agency. I have tried to ask them What is the name of the company that they are calling from, and I get a repeated response. Then they leave a detail message describing a debt but they use lingo like I have a file for this name the voice mail is public, I have never got a verification of debt and I have no idea what debt their even referring to.

The company uses an automated dialing system with recorded messages. The message does not identify who is calling or the nature of the call but states the message is for someone I don't know and further states to hang-up if you are not that person which I did the first time they called. This did not remove me from their system as they called back several times. I called the number back to in an effort to have my number removed however the person who answered hung-up on me when asked for their business address.

Company has been calling many different people including an old roommate from 1997. They are telling them a court case is being filed against me. They know my number, yet they are using an unfair tactic of calling my known acquaintances to embarass me. They should only call me.
