In early XXXX I received a letter from XXXX XXXX XXXX that stated if I did not voluntarily make arrangements to pay on a time-barred debt, I could be held accountable for additional costs. By threatening me with additional costs this attorney implied that he would sue me in court and hold me responsible for court costs and other costs associated with that action. I have attached his letter to me.
I feel that this attorney was attempting to intimidate me. In this letter, this attorney also admits that a debt he sued me for was only placed in his office for collections, that he was not hired as an attorney on the debt, but that he used his position as an attorney as part of his collection tactic. I feel this is an abuse of his role as an attorney, unless he is retained by someone to collect debt, he should not be allowed to use his position as an attorney to sue for debts that are only placed in his office for collection.
