Cumulus Align - not sure of the exact legal name since it appears to have changed is the epitome of " loan sharking ''. I secured this " income sharing '' loan which was not correctly explained to me by the agent, with the very clear definitive understanding I was agreeing to a 36 month term. Since I have this set to auto-pay I was not watching my balance but knew that the term should be ending in XXXX of XXXX. I requested a statement because I noted a date on a incomplete form I received that showed the maturation date as XXXX, XXXX. I was immediately alarmed and knew it was an error. I immediately contacted the company first by telephone with no success and then by email. I challenged the term and was sent an electronically signed document that was associated with my email address but the esignature did not match the font or name I use and more concerning was that the term of the loan was on a page well after the signature page where it showed the term to be for 48 months. A term of 48 months would mean that a loan for {$12000.00} would be a payback of over {$30000.00} which is more than 200 % interest. They don't talk about interest rates but they only talk about a percent of your income and sell you on the concept that if your income does down then so does your payment. The confusing and clever use of language initially led me to refuse the loan. The agent continuously called me pressuring me to take the loan and again we agreed that it would be for a term of 36 months. I never received any documentation until I requested it. Someone modified the document because I the term was so emphatically clear and stated by me several times. This is not only deceptive loan practices but a clear abuse of consumer protections. I refuse to pay more than {$30000.00} for a loan of {$12000.00}. Note the eSignature uses my middle name which is NO WHERE on any other documents.

This company is a shared income loan. I was unaware what this meant exactly but now see the issues with this. Issues I'm having now primarily stem from trying to get a hold of an agent at this company. I made a large payment hoping it would reduce the amount of the loan, which it did not. I was sent a notice that my payment would be going down however due to the large payment. I had been trying to get a hold of them to find out exactly how much my payments would be. I attempted by phone and email several times and was still unable to get a hold of anyone. The first payment since has been withdrawn from my bank and is the same amount that it was previously. They've changed nothing and still have not contacted me. I have again attempted to contact them by phone but continue to be routed to their voicemail. They have, in the past, taken a payment out of my account a week earlier than scheduled. Luckily, I had the funds to cover, and it took 3 days to speak to anyone regarding that. I question if this company is a real company.

For more than a year, I have been trying to resolve the 30-day late payment that appeared on my XXXX credit report from Cumulus Funding for the month of XX/XX/XXXX. After making numerous contacts to resolve, I discovered that, the error was due to a late payment that they agreed to correct while being under doctors care. This occurred during the months of XX/XX/XXXX thru XX/XX/XXXX. After being assured that all would be taken care of, Cumulus Funding instead reported late to XXXX. I was advised that, they had no control and refused to honor their promise to remove. I was then advised it was up to me to dispute with XXXX and I did just that. I have written countless dispute letters for more than a year and no removal. I explained that out of good faith, I called and advised of my situation and they did not hold to the agreement. I have been trying to clear this matter for over a year with XXXX and Cumulus Funding directly. I appreciate any assistance you can provide in clearing this matter.

I have been trying to reach someone at XXXX Align in response to paying off my loan with them. Their billing department appears to be non-existent. I can not find a way to payout the loan in full online, nor can I reach anyone via email or via phone. It goes to a voicemail and the email is not responded to.
