A law firm sent to me a letter stating that they were of counsel for XXXX XXXX XXXX , XXXX, and that they were stating that I made an identity theft claim on a debt with XXXX XXXX. This in itsels is a complete fabrication. I have attached both correspondences from XXXX and Crosstown Law, LLC. Both entities are in serious violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and have mutilated my personal credit without justification. I make the following criteria to show that there is nothing more to this collection other than an abusive collection on a debt that can not be validated. The Federal Trade Commission made the following determination on the proper debt collection process through a lawsuit they filed in XX/XX/XXXX, resolved in XX/XX/XXXX known as FTC v. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. There must be three criteria on the valid collection of a debt. # 1 The debt must be proved owed to the initial entity. # 2 There must be a valid assignment or sale of debt to a third party, backed up by true copy originality. This is without exception, thus stating that all debt pool findings of debt by licensed collection agencies as immediately invalid. Also, the licensing of every collection agency must be on all letterhead, a fact missed by XXXX XXXX XXXX , XXXX. # 3 The debt collection process can not exist if outside the legal collection parameters of the domiciled jurisdiction of the debtor. If XXXX states that they purchased the XXXX debt XX/XX/XXXX, where is the signed proof. Simply stated, there is no proof as the debtor 's information was received through a highly questional if not unethical debt pooling system that will most likely be shut down by the Federal Trade Commission in fiscal year XX/XX/XXXX. The FTC is now holding national meetings on how to fix the deplorable debt collection business. The Crosstown Law letter s a joke, whereas the legal entity of XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX are very subtly stating that in essence they have no existence of legal transfer of a XXXX debt. In addition, if they did the debt would have exceeded the legal collection timeline in the New Jersey jurisdiction in any event. I demand that I receive a noticve that the collection process has been cancelled, and that my file is being purged, in addition to the collection being removed on all pertinent credit reporting agencies. The debt collection system is broken, a press release by the Federal Trade Commission in XXXX. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX is at the bottom of the pool in the method they use with American consumers. It 's time we expose their legal entities that carry on with the same collection practices.

XXXX XXXX XXXX is sending me collection notices on XXXX accounts. I am currently and actively being pursued by XXXX XXXX XXXX on XXXX of these same accounts ( these XXXX originated as XXXX Credit cards and they were mine ). The XXXX account they say originated with XXXX. I called XXXX to verify the debts and amounts and was told that XXXX now owned the debt. I have sent a written request to XXXX with a copy of the XXXX letter asking if they have sold the debt to XXXX. They respond they still own the debt, but wo n't provide me with further information. I have no recollection of a XXXX account. I called XXXX Credit cards and they researched my social security number and found no accounts with them. The XXXX Chase Cards appear correctly on my credit report as charged off, but there is no record of any XXXX chargeoff until XXXX starting reporting it. I have contacted XXXX repeatedly ( including certified mail ) asking them to verify the original accounts, current calculations, date of last payment, and proof of their ownership. Instead I get a letter from " Crosstown Law Firm '' with none of the information requested, which I am entitled to by law. Furthermore, the letter gave me 5 days to respond ( letter came 20 days later ) or I was validating the debts -- also illegal. The amounts they are reporting are not correct on the XXXX XXXX accounts, and the XXXX is crazy ( {$61000.00} )! The person signing the letter, XXXX XXXX, is not licensed as a lawyer in MN, though the letter gives the impression she is a lawyer. They have re-aged the XXXX debt incorrectly ( and added them together a couple of times ). This debt went into arrears in XXXX 2009, and they are reporting last activity as of when XXXX charged off the accounts and sold to XXXX. I believe these actions by XXXX are completely fraudulent. They respond to my requests with threatening letters and are still reporting incorrectly on my credit report. I had credit issues years ago, as the result of unemployment. We are now getting back on our feet and trying to fix stuff, but I believe XXXX XXXX is praying on me and does not own the XXXX debts, and the XXXX account is a fabrication.

XXXX and Crosstown Law LLC, continues to try and collect a debt that not only do I not owe but I 've never had a XXXX account. XXXX themselves has verbally told me that there 's nothing in there system showing I 've ever had an account with them. XXXX can not validate the debt according to the FDCPA Law 15 USC 1692g, Section 809 ( b ) Validating Debts.
