I was contacted by a collection agency : Credit International Corporation XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX WA XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX , WA XXXX Alleged Debt File Number : XXXX Regarding an unsubstantiated and invalid debt claim from : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ID XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX Incident # XXXX I did not receive a Validation Notice from the collection agency Section 809 ( Validation of debts ) of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ) requires debt collectors to send a written Validation Notice to consumers within 5 days of the initial communication about the debt. The Validation Notice " must include a tear-off form that you can send back to the debt collector to dispute the debt or take other actions ''. ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) And A Validation Notice " must include an end date for a XXXX-day period when you can dispute the debt ''. ( XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX ) The letter I received from the collection agency did not include a tear-off form. Witholding the method to dispute the debt is an abusive tactic in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ). The initial contact letter also did not include include an end date for the XXXXday debt dispute period. This is an unfair and deceptive tactic. Due to the collection agency 's failure to include all of the necessary components of a Validation Notice, I have not received a Validation Notice from them, in violation of Section 809 of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ). XXXX XXXX broke the law by sending an unsubstantiated claim to the collection agency. XXXX XXXX claims that I owe them penalties under ORS XXXX. They have never called the police on me, filed any civil or criminal charges against me, or obtained a judgment against me. ORS 30.875 ( 7 ) states that " Judgments, but not claims, arising under this section may be assigned. '' XXXX XXXX claims that I owe them money, but they do not have a judgment against me. Therefore, they are attempting to collect on an unsubstantiated claim, in violation of ORS 30.875 ( 7 ). This statute unequivocally restricts the legal assignment of civil damages for shoplifting to judgments only. Collecting on unsubstantiated civil claims directly contravenes state law. Furthermore, any attempt to unlawfully collect an invalid debt constitutes an abusive practice expressly prohibited under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. XXXX XXXX is authorized by the State of Oregon by ORS 30.875 to fine customers based exclusively on the store employee 's opinions and without any reasonable suspicion even when the store has not lost any merchandise. XXXX XXXX cited this endorsement of their actions by the State of Oregon by sending me a copy of ORS 30.875. Their conduct shows knowledge of the law 's judgment requirement, but intentional violation of it anyway. The collection agency is also acting unlawfully by accepting assignment of the invalid claim. ORS 30.875 restricts assignment of shoplifting claims specifically to prevent exactly this type of situation - collections efforts without due process. XXXX 's actions violate the Oregon statute 's clear procedural requirements for shoplifting penalties. XXXX XXXX assigns these types of claims frequently to the collection agency. Therefore, the collection agency is also well aware of the illegitimacy of the claims. Consumer protection laws The store and collection agency 's actions constitute violations of consumer protection laws. The federal government and Oregon have consumer protection statutes that prohibit unfair, deceptive or unconscionable trade practices. These include debt collection activities. Attempting to collect on a shoplifting penalty claim that is invalid and unassignable under Oregon law is a false and misleading representation that qualifies as a deceptive practice under consumer protection statutes. The store and agency are aware of the law but chose to violate it anyway in their dealings with consumers. This demonstrates knowledge and intent. Transferring invalid claims with knowledge that they can not be legally assigned or collected misrepresents the status and enforceability of the debt. This is a deceptive practice. Having a consumer pay or try to settle an invalid claim also qualifies as an abusive/unconscionable practice under consumer protection laws. Fair Debt Collection Practices Act In addition to consumer protection laws, the FDCPA ( Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ) also prohibits collection of shoplifting claims not reduced to judgment. Knowingly violating the Oregon shoplifting penalty law is reasonably seen as a deceptive and unfair trade practice violating consumer protection laws. The described conduct violates consumer protection laws prohibiting deceptive debt collection practices, in addition to the Oregon shoplifting penalty statute itself. Scope of the problem It has come to my attention that XXXX XXXX may have systematically assigned collection rights on potentially hundreds of thousands of unsubstantiated civil claims over past years, and ostensibly continues such practices unchecked. Furthermore, Credit International Corporation, doing business as XXXX, appears to have regularly collected on millions of legally invalid debts without complying with mandatory consumer notification laws. Remedies Sought It is requested that XXXX XXXX face meaningful penalties for the demonstrable pattern of assigning collection rights on civil claims lacking proper legal judgment, in contravention of statute. Additionally, substantial sanctions for Credit International Corporation, doing business as XXXX, are sought for apparent widespread noncompliance with Fair Debt Collection Practices Act provisions requiring the furnishing consumers a written Validation Notice within 5 days of the initial debt communication. Further, penalties for XXXX are also requested regarding collection of any material number of past assignments of legally invalid debts they accepted as legitimate. The State of Oregon and the federal government to begin enforcing the laws already in place that prohibit : Merchants from assigning legal debts absent judicial oversight Merchants illegally assigning debts absent substantiating documentation to collection agencies Collection agencies accepting the assignment of unsubstantiated debts Collection agencies initiating collection proceedures with a lack of mandatory consumer notification XXXX XXXX held accountable by reversing their illegal, unfair, deceptive, and abusive practice of sending their claim against me to XXXX. XXXX to send me a written Validation Notice as required by law. XXXX required to rescind the claim against me and return it to XXXX XXXX. To remedy the grievance, XXXX XXXX should be compelled to cease and desist from assigning unsubstantiated claims. XXXX should be required to provide the legally mandated validation notice and cease collection efforts of illegally assigned debts. These measures would demonstrate good faith adherence to consumer protections under statute. Please inform me of your planned actions in response to my complaint and provide regular progress updates. Sincerely, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, OR XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX XXXX XXXX

Credit International Corp ( CIC ) has an outstanding judgment against me and has filed 3 garnishments against employers since XXXX attempting to collect. After the last garnishment was filed, I contacted them in an effort to work out payment arrangements ( at their written request ), get a total pay-off amount and how it was calculated, and even pay off the debt in full, according to the court paperwork. When I went in their XXXX, Washington office on XXXX XXXX, with a check for the remaining balance, they refused to accept it and indicated the amount on the garnishment filed with the court was incorrect, added up wrong, and that I actually owed {$1400.00} more than what was shown. I have attached the two most recent garnishments, dated XXXX XXXX, and XXXX XXXX, XXXX, the emails I sent to them attempting to work out payment arrangements, and laying out how I calculated the remaining balance ( which was not disputed - either on the phone or in writing ), the most recent paycheck stub dated XXXX XXXX showing the total my employer paid through garnishments, the check they refused to take, a letter dated XXXX XXXX threatening to sue my employer if they did not comply with the garnishment, and the letter from them dated XXXX XXXX, where they indicate both sets of court paperwork / garnishments were calculated incorrectly. I also voluntarily made payments to the court when there was not an active garnishment filed, in an attempt to show good faith - a total of {$450.00} was paid and the receipt is also attached. When I went into their office to drop off the check, I was shuffled through three different people, none of which identified themselves, or what authority they had within the organization. The receptionist would not even talked to me, but immediately said she needed a supervisor. The female supervisor was very rude, saying I was not paying the correct amount and even after I presented her with the email of how I calculated it, refused to accept my calculation. She then went back and another gentleman came out ( whom I presume was the attorney, but honestly do not know ), and he was even more rude - and kept insisting I owed more than what the paperwork said and that the garnishment that was filed in the court was added up incorrectly and I should have been honest enough to realize it, and just paid what was really owed. I told him it was not my responsibility to pay for their mistake, or check their math and I was taking my numbers directly off the Writ and Application for Garnishment. He then adamantly refused to take the check because it said " paid in full '' or provide me with a receipt for making the payment. I drove 35 minutes just to get to their office, was there over an hour and a half, and missed half a day of work with no pay to get attempt to get this taken care of. Every time I would send an email asking a question, the primary response I would be is that they could not communicate with me through email and call them. However, every time I called, it rang several times before / if anyone bothered to answer and my voicemails were not responded to. No one would even give me a specific time when I could call, or make an appointment to discuss it in person, and I made it clear I had limited availability during office hours because of my work schedule. CIC has done not returned my good faith effort to get the situation completely resolved. They have not even filed a partial satisfaction with the court showing the amount that has been paid, so my credit continues to take a negative hit, as it shows up as an unpaid judgment. I just want them to accept the amount owed that I calculated, based on the court paperwork filed by them, and file a complete satisfaction with the court, so this gets behind me. The original judgment was filed in XXXX and I am tired of 2 years of negative effects and garnishment attempts. Everyone in their office I have dealt with has been rude, unethical, and harassing. I feel like they are doing nothing but trying to take advantage of me, my limited financial situation, and have no interest in seeing an end to the proceedings. They only care about lining their pocketbooks and trying to intimidate people into paying more than what is actually owed. I have made more than a good faith effort to pay this debt. I am not disputing the fact that I owe it, am not saying the original judgment was filed in bad faith, or that the garnishments themselves are illegal on their face. However, I am saying I should be able to concretely rely on the numbers calculated and be able to pay the remaining balance from that paperwork.

I bought a car from XXXX XXXX in XXXX WA XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX. Due to a serious domestic abuse situation my finances were cut so drastically knew could not afford the car. I brought the car back in on about XX/XX/XXXX. I had put {$500.00} down and made 2 payments. They took the car with my boyfriend who 's been XXXX for over 25 yrs, I had him do the transaction as my witness that the car was in better condition than when purchased. They advised him I would be charged a storage fee. He objected and said the car will be put back on lot for sale. A week later the car was for sale at same amnt as I got it for, then a week later about it was gone. So assumed the car was resold. Since then I have had no contact with them. My address is the same. My boyfriend also stated that charging me 30 % interest not legal here. I have n't worked for two years. This holiday season worked just for holidays. I was surprised to see my last large check was garnished about {$250.00}. That day in the mail was a letter with papers for a " Writ of Garnishment for Continuing Lien on Earnings '' from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX WA XXXX ph XXXX, case no XXXX. Plaintiff is XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. and Credit International Corp. I was never served anything such as notice the car was to be auctioned, the selling price, nor any notices of service with papers to answer forms etc. The amount due is {$2500.00}. Judgement bal {$2100.00}, Interest from XX/XX/XXXX-XX/XX/XXXX {$180.00}, filing fees {$32.00}, postage of cert mail {$15.00}, garnishment atty fees {$210.00}. I am shocked at this obvious way of " double dipping. '' I have to pay for car plus whoever bought car also. But what 's move obvious is that I did n't receive anything at all related to this matter. I challenge anything that was signed by me from anyone on this matter. I tried calling the Atty, and the recording was a co called XXXX and I talked to whoever answers phone and told knew nothing about it and to contact the car dealer. I called them and again nobody around to answer anything, when I advised her I will take legal counter action she said the woman who would deal with this got in car accident and call back in a week. I received a call from XXXX and had my boyfriend talk to this really rude woman. She said could not talk to XXXX XXXX as my forms I got said to do. She said to call back and make payment arrangements. A little late since I am being garnished already. This totally unacceptable to mess with people like this. It 's corrupt and illegal.I have filed a complaint with AG. I can predict that they will say tried to contact me and I did n't respond so got judge to ok garnishment. But it states from XXXX/XXXX/XXXX? I did seek some legal counsel and they to said I must be served properly or the case should be requested to be dismissed. Now neither will respond. I will go to XXXX Court and file a declaration with my response on Monday XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. Can you please look into this and offer me assistance? I am a single Mom and struggling to survive and this is total harassment and feel also feel this would not have happened if I was a man. I have always had positive response from AG, FTC ( after looking at credit report see have identity theft again ) and believe it or not the IRS. Please enforce all laws so this does n't happen again, I can tell it 's been done by them many times as the way it was set up and timed. My employer will also be notified as contacting me at my job will not be tolerated. They have my address, email and XXXX phone numbers to contact me but little late. I bet there is some type of forgery of my signature. While this in dispute can any further payments be suspended? And the amnt already taken be returned. I should also get copies of when vehicle returned with balance, when car resold and for how much and all attempts to contact me after that. Thank you so much

Collection agency received an assignment of debt from creditor 3 months after we offset the debt and gave them a XXXX. Original Creditor gave the agency the wrong address and they served a writ of garnishment to my husband at an address we lived at 3 years ago. We filed XXXX report XXXX dated on or about XXXX/XXXX/2015. We even drove down to their location and the representative that we spoke to called me a thief to justify them garnishing my husbands wages without proper service. When I told them that they violated our rights to privacy by sending debt collection information to a party other than ourselves she got argumentative, threatened to call the police on me because I would n't give her my social security number ( although I had my press badge with address/birthdate/picture, as well as my state id card for verification that she was speaking with myself ). I have everything on digital audio/visual recording as well. They brought back out a copy of the envelope that showed the mail was returned to them 4 days after they were granted the writ but would not give a copy of the mail. They would not give any information that showed us that they had the right to collect the debt outside of trying to give me a copy of a judgement that I had previously went online and purchased when I learned of the garnishment. To this day we have yet to get any communication from the collector, they have not validated the debt and they have stated clearly to myself and the better business bureau that unless i verify my social security number they will not speak with me or accept payments on the debt unless the balance is paid in full. However, they are garnishing my husbands wages. After I left the building our process server went inside and served the company with a cease and desist on collections until validation was received and a court related documents regarding the debt as well as copies of the XXXX 's that have now been sent into the IRS. They collection agency called the representative from the original creditor to alert her that we were serving her ( from what I can only guess ), as by the time we made it to her location to serve her with the same papers, she let her dogs out on the process server and not less than XXXX minutes later threatened me on facebook. Within a couple of days the Attorney for Creditor contacted us and stated that if we contact anyone in regards to validating, off setting this debt and other court documents that we would be back in court for a order for protection because we were harassing his clients. They are taking money from a paycheck that is assigned to a XXXX and we ca n't get a Motion in to the Court because the clerks refuse to file saying that the time has lapsed for us to seek a review of the writ or defend it because the attorney signed the affidavit stating it was successfully served. At the moment we are trying to figure out how they can refuse to speak with us regarding payment of a " debt ''. How it is legal for them to go after a garnishment after receiving a Cancellation of Debt? How it is okay for a debt collection to admittedly send mail to the wrong address because the creditor gave it to them, knowing it is the wrong address? How we were forced by the court to be debtors but have no standing to get a validation of who is the proper party to " pay '', who we are supposed to be communicating with. Why we are not being allowed to get a invoice showing " current '' amounts due and owing since we never even got served with the Court judgment ( we appeared by phone per the judge ). So now they have a lien on our home, garnishing my husbands wages as well as now running inquiries on our credit but they wont send a bill.

I then contacted XXXX w/ the call recorded in one more attempt to resolve the debt and dean still refused and transferred me to his manager again XXXX XXXX with the call being recorded I stated to her that I was giving them one last chance to provide me with the information and that I was recording the call she then again refused to provide the information I then stated that I would be contacting the credit bureau to notify them they are refusing to validate my debt and that they are unwilling to cooperate with a debtor and refusing payments she then stated we were no longer going to have this conversation and hung up the call. This started from my landlord retaliating against us after we attempted to get the home energy efficient and we spoke with the Commerce Dept.. They contacted him. He 's a poor excuse of a landlord cuz upon move in he made me do all the cleaning. We got to the point of receiving a 2nd unlawful detainer, and we 're evicted XX/XX/XXXX then : A 3rd party collector gets involved, who made no attempts to contact me prior to the garnishment.!!! In XX/XX/XXXX I noticed that I was being garnished, I discovered that it was XXXX XXXX XXXX located out of XXXX. I sent a letter immediately for proof of the debt, validation & the amounts. It went unawnsered. I am frustrated because I 'm not able to get a statement to show the balance, payments and credits. The case # used is for a paid case. Previously, XXXX XXXX, was atty. of record and we took in a large cashiers check to pay the amount owing. We requested a copy of the receipt & copy of the check from XXXX office but have not gotten it yet. I did not get notified of the transfer to Credit International hearing or the wage garnishment. It appears that they sent my paperwork to a erroneous address. Furthermore, the garnishor has illegally withheld our personal items that we had in the garage and failed to return our last months deposit/security or a detailed statement. Please investigate this matter and determine if I overpaid this 2nd judgement. I pray that you will get the answers that I 've tried to obtain. Case # XXXX this is the correct case #. The case # XXXX had been paid except minor atty costs of {$300.00} approx. Otherwise on the XXXX XXXX day it would have showed all that 's owed to him.

I received a collection notice after never receiving a bill. I tried contacting the landlord and he refused to speak to me so I contacted Credit International Corporation. The person I spoke with emailed a copy of an invoice and when I tried to ask questions about never receiving any notification that there was money owed, he hung up on me. I followed the option on the letter and wrote in that we were disputing the charges and mailed it on the XXXX of XXXX within the 30 days. I received a conclusion notice back on XX/XX/XXXX stating that the debt had been verified. I tried calling and talking to someone again but the first local number listed on the paperwork was disconnected but I got through with the 800 number. I then spoke to XXXX and asked how they verified it. He would only tell me that their paralegal did it but would not explain anything beyond that. He then said that he was going to note on the account that I wasn't willing to pay it and they would take me to court. He then hung up on me again. I do not feel that I should be sent to collections over charges I wasn't aware of, especially when I still live in the same townhouse that the fees were supposedly accrued. I was never notified by my landlord in anyway that I had any outstanding balance until he sold this property to another company. After the sale, myself and at least one of my neighbors then received these collection notices. Nobody has attempted to make any kind of payment arrangements of any kind with me. They just say they are going to take me to court and hang up on me.

On XX/XX/XXXX I received a certified letter in the mail from Credit International Corp stating that a judgement was put in place to begin wage garnishment for a 9 year old debt I did not know existed. In XXXX a court hearing was scheduled for a matter I believed the plaintiff and I had settled out of court. Unbeknownst to me, the plaintiff pursued the legal matter without my knowledge. In 9 years I was never notified of the judgement against me. Until I received the letter on XX/XX/XXXX, this agency ( who confirmed has had this debt since XXXX ) has not sent me a single letter or attempted to contact me in any way. I have sent proof that I was led to believe the matter was settled out of court with no response. On XX/XX/XXXX, my wife called the company and spoke with an agent and explained that I was never notified of the debt and wanted to stop the wage garnishment. She was told that the garnishment can not be stopped once it is in motion, and was told that since they were contracted to collect the debt only one attempt was made to notify me of the debt via a letter sent to my parents house. I have had the same phone number for nearly 15 years. My parents do have a valid address for me, but they did not ever receive any correspondence for me. I feel more than one attempt in 7 years should me made and that I should have been properly notified of the judgement from the beginning 9 years ago when I have believed this entire time the matter had been privately settled.

XXXX XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, WA XXXX ) Sold an apartment complex including all tenant debts at the time of sale in XX/XX/2019 ; He subsequently attempted to collect on those same debts ( double collect on the same debts ) that the purchaser ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) now owns and manages. Mr. XXXX has in his possession the real estate contract which clearly outlines that all tenant accounts/ both credits and/or debts owed were transferred at the time of sale to the new property owners - the new apartment owner/manager confirmed this with me in detail. According to the new apartment owners, Mr. XXXX XXXX was selective about which tenants he attempted to strong arm debt collection from - XXXX and elderly tenants were targeted in an attempt to collect extra money from a real estate sale in which he had already been compensated. The current apartment owner managing these tenant accounts advised the tenants to ignore Mr. XXXX 's wrongful attempt to collect the debt and that Mr. XXXX is attempting to scam extra payments from debt that he no longer owned and was not entitled to collect. XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX WA XXXX ) reported this fraudulent attempt to collect debt on all three credit bureaus, dropping by credit score by more than 100 points. After many phone calls, this debt collection agency refused to entertain any resolution or address my concerns and hung up on me multiple times.

Date : XX/XX/2022 Amount : {$70000.00} TOTAL : {$73000.00} I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the handling of debt collection by XXXX XXXX Department and Credit International Corporation. While I understand that it is their job to collect debts owed, I have several concerns regarding the way this matter has been handled. First and foremost, I believe that the debt being reported on my credit record is inaccurate. This debt belongs to the company XXXX XXXX XXXX and not to me personally. As an employee of the company, I should not be held responsible for the debts incurred by the business. It is my understanding that XXXX should be held responsible for the payment of this debt, as XXXX XXXX XXXX received payment from XXXX and released the order to the customer. As a customer, we relied on the XXXX XXXX XXXX to handle the payment process. XXXX is now attempting to collect the money back due to a loophole in their system, which is not our responsibility. Furthermore, I am concerned that XXXX practices in attempting to collect this debt have been unfair and unjust. I have received numerous phone calls and letters from XXXX regarding the debt, many of which were made outside of reasonable hours. Additionally, I have been subjected to threats and intimidating language by their representatives, which is unacceptable.

I received a notice of garnishment via mail less than a week before my pay started being garnished by my employer to satisfy the garnishment request they also received. This was the FIRST EVER NOTICE OF THIS DEBT I HAVE EVER RECEIVED! Prior to this I had ZERO notice of this debt or that it even existed, that I could dispute it, or anything. ZERO attempts have ever been made by the collector to contact me to notify me of the debt OR collect on it. Since they have completely failed their due diligence to even attempt to resolve or notify me of the debt, this was an unfair and illegal garnishment and has caused undue hardship on my household as I am also the sole income earner. When I was notified of the garnishment, I also received no grace period to address or dispute the debt before collection occurred via garnishment. I was prohibited access to or notice of my rights of this debt and all actions taken were in direct violation of FDCPA standard. This was an unfair attempt to illegally secure funds for an unknown debt with no attempts on the collectors part to even collect the debt prior, or notify me of it. I need 100 % of my $ returned and this debt removed and need this to be filed as a matter of public record that this collector directly violated my rights as an individual.

The man who called was speaking to me with a nasty tone and asking questions that were discriminating towards me, asking me " why are you talking so fast '', and you have a bank account dont you, very snotty, and talking to me very derisevely he made me feel like I was some kind of a low life and was asking for information that he did not need to know, when I told him I have no income and that my husband was the only XXXX with income he asked me where does my husband work, to which I told him that was none of his business, then continued to get very nasty with me still saying how he was gon na make the recommendation to the company that I didnt have a payment arrangement and wouldnt allow me to speak and told me have a nice day very very nasty like and literally hung up the phone on me. His name was XXXX, and I have never had anyone make me so angry so fast and talk to me in such a way, I felt like crying afterwards and he made me feel like I was being ridiculed by a parent and I was a child.

On X/XX/2017 I cent via certified mail a letter stating that I was disputing the debt that Credit International Corporation claimed that I owed. They received my letter on XXXX and signed for it. I have proof of delivery and signature in my possession. After they received my request to dispute the dept they made absolutely no attempt to verify the debt and they also failed to report to the credit reporting agencies that this item was being disputed within the XXXX day window. I received a new credit report on the XXXX day and it showed no reporting of the mentioned debt/account being disputed by consumer. As per FC RA 623 ( a ) ( 3 ) - responsibilities of furnishers of information to consumer reporting agencies [ 15 U.S.C. 1681s-2 ] They have violated federal law and I have evidence of such, via certified mail receipts. They must removed the inaccurate information from my credit reports.

My wife was made aware of an outstanding debt she owed to XXXX XXXX College. She did not receive any notice and only found out about it when attemtping to request transcripts. The debt is from XXXX and neither the school nor the collection agency have described to us the nature or reason for the outstanding debt. The original amount owed was {$370.00} and has escalated up to {$1100.00} due to interest and fees per the collection agency. We have sent a debt vericication letter on XXXX/XXXX/XX/XX/XXXX and are still waiting for a response. After talking to them on the phone they offered to settle the debt for {$750.00}, without verifying the debt. Since we just want to take care of this we agreed to meet their settlement for {$750.00} but they absolutely refuse to provide us with a letter or email of verbal agreement describing the settlement. The only explanation they offered is that it is company policy.

I just had a garnishment on my payroll check without prior notification from the debt collector, I was never contacted first before garnishment by either mail or phone call. Upon calling they informed me they sent out a mailing 6 days prior to first garnishment to my old mailing address. They informed me that the last time it was reported to my credit report was XXXX. The mailing was XX/XX/XXXX and the first garnishment was processed XX/XX/XXXX. I was not never contacted or called to make arrangements to pay the debt or was given 30 days to write a dispute for the debt. The original debt is from XXXX. In Washington, the statute of limitations on debt collection lawsuits is six years after the date of default or last payment on the debt account. When six years have passed, debt collectors can still attempt to collect these debts, but they can not file a collection lawsuit.
