XX/XX/XXXX received letter from claimed XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX impersonator named Credit Adjustments , Inc. It used " Borrower ID No. XXXX for {$70000.00} dated XX/XX/XXXX, a year after my Chapter XXXX no-asset bankruptcy. More importantly, its predecessor, XXXX XXXX and others defaulted in the adversary proceeding. The U. S. Attorney General at XXXX in court said it was {$50000.00} as a claim - not {$70000.00}. Even then, he had no documents, the debt was in dispute and the U. S. Attorney at XXXX filed an improper pleading after asking for an extension to answer the Complaint. Since neither filed a Proof of Claim to verify the chain-of-title debt or to explain how the guarantor woukd have already paid the government, thus owing nothing to the federal government ; the credit report after that XXXX hearing stated those alleged federal debts were " included in the Chapter XXXX discharge '' and were not collectible due to no proof. So my trial is XX/XX/XXXX, and I will now ask the judge to address this " zombie debt '' for violations of the Fair Debt Collections Act regarding furnishing false information on my credit report given this never-ending nonsense. And also to address the new false furnishing on my credit report by this Credit Adjustments, Inc. The " fresh start '' provision of the Bankruptcy Law afforded ample opportunity for the creditors to " put up or shut up. '' They falsely claimed that it is my burden to prove " undue hardship '' before they prove the debt is real. Moreover, the reverse is required. The government or its collectors must show chain-of-title proof prior to any proof on my part. They failed to do that. Now, the judicial admission that the debt was included is in keeping with the XX/XX/XXXX " Dear Colleague '' letter by the XXXX XXXX XXXX guiding the creditors on legal costs relative to claims and other particulars. Also, XX/XX/XXXX is the deadkine for the Federal Register to receive comments related to " undue hardship '' all of which will be addressed at trial XX/XX/XXXX. I will file two motions against Credit Adjustments , Inc.. The first is a violation of the Chapter XXXX discharge that was furnished by the predecessor as inclusive of all federal student loans it held. And a motion in the trial case to enjoin this company in the trial. This company is committing fraud. More specifically, it is not entitled to that amount of {$20000.00} more on a one year time frame. That is usary. Also, it is using the U. S. Mail and committing mail fraud in defrauding me. Lastly, its Chief Compliance Officer will get a subpoena to supply the chain-of-title documemts to enjoin their predeccesor back into the case for assigning this debt after it defaulted and otherwise neglected to file a Proof Of Claim. Incidentally, the XXXX XXXX XXXX was on the Matrix of Creditors and also failed to file a Proof Of Claim. In the beginning, a servicer failed to follow the federal regulations. The XXXX XXXX XXXX failed to enforce its own regulations. This means they knowingly failed me and then forced bankruptcy. Now, a full year after the bankruptcy ended and the adversary proceeding began, I am going to file this letter with the court to get closure once and for all. There is a 57 % default rate on Income-Based Repayment recertification due to lack of work or lack of taxable income for which some rogue servicers wilfully trigger defaults. The XXXX XXXX XXXX makes it worse by offering a new IBR plan where it was denied at the beginning of the rogue servicer actions. They can't have it both ways. The XXXX got paid by their guarantor. So who has a valid claim? No one. All either defaulted or lied to got out of the case or otherise ignored the summons and complaint and the lead bankruptcy case completely. Despite that, it was either aware or directed after the XXXX hearing with the lawyer for the XXXX that it was futile. No doubt, XXXX XXXX fraudulently sold the abandoned debt to its affiliate to clean up its books or to dupe another creditor or to mislead me into thinking this debt was still valid. See you in court!

Hi there, I had both my federal and state taxes illegally docked despite there being a moratorium per the Cares Act until XX/XX/XXXX. The department of Education actually sent me a letter saying payments were paused. I had roughly {$7300.00} taken that I need returned. I'm a single mother of XXXX kids XXXX with no financial help and am facing utility shut off notices and threats for my car being repo-ed. I was an XXXX XXXX until COVID hit and my oldest is at XXXX XXXX with his extreme XXXX, with our doctor highly suggesting I not resume interacting with the public until things settle down. My PUA ( self-employment UI ) just ended and this money is very needed right now to keep my family afloat. I was directed by Health and Human Services to call OSU for assistance with my debt and did so numerous times over the years, seeking forbearance or any sort of help. Each time I am told that they are private loans so there's no help. I do not understand how I had to go entrance and exit online counseling to get the loans and I signed up for student loans, not private. They say that when I dropped down to part time it changed to private? I do not understand how a loan can change like that. I have all of the emails from the time of origination and they all say " student loan ''. They're also having me pay back grants, which is weird. Further, to my understanding, private loans can't be docked unless there's a judgement. So I don't understand how they've ever been docked from my state. And they say that they did request that payments not be docked but it wasn't until XXXX and my payment arrived in XXXX. I do not believe they can not offer a reversal due to financial hardship during a pandemic. Additionally, I was never told that I had a whole separate loan that's federal. To my knowledge, the initial amount owed was XXXX and I've paid that back and then some over the years with my taxes being docked. It's hard for me to believe that over the years that I asked for help, they never bothered to tell me that part of my loan was federal and that I could actually get forbearance or some kind of help from federal. I honestly don't believe that they don't have any type of programs for their loans themselves though. I've never heard of such a thing. No forgiveness, loan discharge, or consolidation, repayment options? I feel they're taking advantage of me and I'd like my loan discharged at this point. As I've been looking into this, I'm seeing that they're legally required to provide me statements and repayment options, of which they've done neither. Reading that Department of Education says states can hold student loan servicers accountable when they fail to provide eligibility of forgiveness programs or provide false/misleading info on account. The loans were from 2009 so if they're private, the private should have maybe dropped off? I would like my payments to both OSU and federal returned. The servicer that docked payment for federal is Credit Adjustments Collection Company : XXXX XXXX XXXX. They are not returning my calls. I appreciate your help greatly!

The options your form brought up did not provided the correct options for me to select. I was sent a letter from XXXX XXXX XXXX that I owed a specified amount to XXXX Hospital. I attempted to contact Credit Adjustments on 4 different occaasion during a 2 week period and was advised that they were unable to help me. I attempted to make a payment arrangement with them on each of these occasions and were told that I was not able to do this over the phone, i could only do so by filling out the form on the back of the letter that was sent to me, i advised them that I moved and the letter was not in my possession since my move. I was advised that, this was the only way to stop the garnishment. I contacted the court and asked the court if they were able to send me the letter of judgement against me to work something out with Credit Adjustments, i was advised by the courts that i should have been able to work that out with Credit Adjustments. I explained that i had tried 4 times and they wouldn't work with me, only that i had to fill out the form on the back of the letter. The court then gave me the lawyers name and phone number and advised that he would work with me. I called XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX, OH and was at first advised by his paralegal that they could not take a payment arrangement, that i needed to contact XXXX XXXX XXXX to make them. I advised that i made 4 attempts to do so and they would not work with me, she then advise that XXXX XXXX contact me back to discuss. from this conversation, he advise that when I received the garnishment paperwork from my employer that i could then file for a hearing that i disagree with the garnishment and another hearing would be made and he would consider a reasonable monthly amount at that time. I filed for a hearing and took vacation time to attend this hearing. When i arrived at the hearing, XXXX XXXX did not show up to court and only sent a letter to the judge stating he didn't see a reason for the hearing and asked the judge to keep the garnishment in effect. The judge had no way to decipher if i was telling the truth that XXXX XXXX was the one who had me schedule the hearing so that i could propose a more reasonable amount for my income as the law is set to take 25 % of employees disposable income, not taking into consideration, they have rent, car, insurance and utility bills to pay. I am seeking assistance from a Credit repair company and they upon hearing what had happened advised me to contact you and advise of my mulitple attempts to make payment. I had previously filed and gave all the pertinent information regarding Credit adjustments and your office had been unsuccessful in obtaining information from Credit Adjustments and had asked me to send in a copy of soemthing with Credit Adjustments address and phone number on it. I mailed the documentation on XX/XX/XXXX and somehow you never received it. The Case # is XXXX. I was advised by one of your reps to submit a new complaint and attach the documents to the new complaint.

CAI canceled my default repayment program because of lack of paperwork which I was told by their representative I had turned in all of my paperwork. I set up a payment plan with CAI to get my student loans out of default. During the initial set up the rep told me that they would be sending me paperwork to fill out by XXXX and I would need to complete it and send it back before my 9 payments were complete. I needed to complete that paperwork before my payments were done in order for this process to work. I never received the paperwork but they were taking my payments. I called to let them know I never received any paperwork by XXXX. That rep confirmed it was never sent out and he would have it sent out. Again, I never received the paperwork. I called and the rep again confirmed the paper work was never sent and they would send it. I called again for the 3rd time and spoke with a rep who confirmed it was n't sent again and sent me an email with my paperwork along with a place to download my files to them. I filled out the paperwork with him over the phone and submitted it. He also said my account had been cancelled because I had n't turned in the paperwork. I had no paperwork to turn in. He said that since I had only missed one month of payments since they cancelled my account and that he would reinstate my account and I would only have 2 payments left. I never received confirmation that they received my paperwork so I called and followed up. The rep I spoke to said that one of my papers was approved and one was denied. She told me word for word what to say on that document, I downloaded it to them while on the phone with her and she confirmed I had handed in all of my paperwork and I was good. I only had 2 payments left. That last call was in XX/XX/XXXX. My payments were to be done in XX/XX/XXXX. I called in XX/XX/XXXX to follow up as I should have been done. I spoke to 3 reps, one being a supervisor and one a manager. All of them said my account was never reinstated like the previous rep had stated and that no payments were ever taken out after that even thought I had updated payment in XX/XX/XXXX for them to use. I took full responsibility to follow up constantly with this company, did everything they said to do, turned in the paperwork when I finally got it. The manager said my account was cancelled because I never turned in my paperwork. NO ONE WOULD SEND ME PAPERWORK. I had no paperwork to send in. But they graciously took 7 of my 9 payments. Every rep I talked to confirms my paper work was never sent. But somehow it is my fault that the paperwork was never completed. Their only solution was that I need to start all the way over with my 9 payments. I have made full effort to make this transition successful. I was told that I was not speaking to experienced reps and thats why this happened. It was suggested I only speak to tenyear reps to avoid this problem. This mistake was made completely and fully by CAI and they fraudulently canceled my repayment program.

Well In XX/XX/XXXX my loans went into default I had a job but was at the time XXXX in and out of shelters and finally was accepted into permanent supportive housing. Unfortunately I only had a low paying part time job which i was barely able to make ends meet and I had done forebodance previously and was planning on trying to do that again then was laid off from my job late XXXX and on XX/XX/XXXX I sustained a XXXX XXXX XXXX from a XXXX XXXX which left me unable to work for around 5 months during those 5 months I was undergoing constant medical treatment and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and was only receiving benefits from the county falling behind in all bills and facing eviction I just as of this month XX/XX/XXXX have just now caught up on my rent and am getting into a more stable situation I though back in XXXX or XXXX I had done some sort of corresponding about my student loans and should definitely have been getting assistance with handling my important financial matters seeing as I did not have the XXXX XXXX at that time and actually still suffer from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX as well as a number of XXXX XXXX XXXX from the incident however I did not seek assistance and thought i was handling everything just fine however i was not and am still trying to stabilize financially. I do now have full time and gainful employment and am in a position to begin making payments however my loans are already in collections and I know i made my loan servicer aware of my situation at the time but i do not recall being given any information on options as far as payment arrangements or deferment and I could be wrong i honestly do not have any clear memory of anything for about six months after my injury but I now feel like if my wages are going to be garnished at a time when I am finally beginning to become stable it will force me into homelessness and probably back to being unemployed I am considering bankruptcy at this time however this action has already started to happen and I just can not afford to take any loss in my income like the paperwork is saying. I now its my own fault but I was only living on my food stamps and a tax refund for over five months and still was not able to manage I do live in section 8 housing but unfortunately the timing of my injury and changes being made to adjust my rent took nearly two months my landlord was working with me thank XXXX but I have no room for any more falling behind i will be forced back into homelessness is there not any options available for me at this point or perhaps do I need an advocate of some sort to assist me? I can make payments within reason but i do have rent bills and am a single mother and i receive no child support whatsoever and my rent was just increased this month my energy bill was over a thousand dollars which i have spent the last two months paying off and now this. I am not avoiding the situation I actually would like to get the situation to a manageable level if at all possible

My Federal Student loans are in Default and was taken over by Credit adjustment INC. This collection agency is refusing to work with me in repaying my loan and coming out of Default when they first reach out to me I receive a call requesting XXXX to be paid immediately which I had advised that I didn't have then they ask for XXXX he stated that if I didn't paid they will start garnishing my wages I advised the representative ( XXXX XXXX ) that I didn't have that amount of money as I'm just starting to get back on my feet my house was going into foreclosure but we were able to resolve the foreclosure issue. he then stated let me see if you qualify for the rehabilitation program then stated that it will be XXXX a month once again I advised that I can not afford that amount he then reminder me again that it would lead to 15 % of my wages to be garnish I stated that I couldn't pay that amount. The next day I call back spoke to another rep ( XXXX ) who stated that the previous rep work the account incorrectly and stated that I will only pay XXXX a month for the next 9 months she then requested for me to fax my expenses the way we when over it over the phone which I did then I receive a call back the next day by the previous rep asking me for more money then he went over the information again and stated yes you will pay XXXX I made my first payment on XX/XX/2018 then I call to make sure he receive that last document he needed then he stated that he was wrong with the amount he had me pay and it's XXXX a month I advised him that I do not want that amount withdrawn from my account I agree on XXXX he stated that unfortunately that was not the correct amount he then stated lets see if we have another program then he advised we can place on a payment of XXXX for the next 240 months when I calculated the amount after the 240 months its XXXX I told him I can not afford this amount he stated how about XXXX a month he advised there is nothing we can do for you so or you pay the XXXX or we will garnish your wages. This company is not willing to work with me at all I do want to come out of default but for a reasonable amount I went in default cause I was going through a hard time in my life with my home going through foreclosure, the passing of my younger brother, my dad going through XXXX XXXX and losing his benefits and an ill mother I do apologized I had a lot on my plate at the time but I'm back on my feet and want to take care of the matter but Credit adjustment is not willing to help me in this matter but more of threating me to garnish my wages.

In XX/XX/XXXX, I contact Credit Adjustments after having my wages garnished {$140.00} ( i'm biweekly so it was actually {$280.00} a month ). I explained that I could not afford that and my other bills were backing up ( I had already had my car repossessed once because I couldn't afford to pay it ). I was told that I could pay 5 payments of the agreed $ XXXX/month then I would be back to current and my wages would not be garnished anymore. I would then go on a $ XXXX/month plan and credit organizations would be notified and so would my work. It was my understanding the payments were consecutive and I should be done in XX/XX/XXXX. I even confirmed with this woman on my case and she said " yes, that's what that meant ''. I continued with the wage garnishments with the understanding they would end fairly soon. In XX/XX/XXXX, I noticed they were still taking the full garnishments and I was told the person I spoke to previously hadn't told me the truth and it was 5 monthly garnishments NOT based on every paycheck so I would be done by XXXX instead. This is when I was officially signed on to the repayments and {$10.00} were taken every paycheck. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called Credit Adjustments and spoke to someone 4 times that day ( I have record in my phone ) and they told me that I just had to get to the week of XX/XX/XXXX and I would have fulfilled the loan requirements and again they didn't understand why the previous person had told me differently. As of my paycheck on XX/XX/XXXX, a garnishment was still taken out. I called on XX/XX/XXXX and was told that the people I spoke to on XX/XX/XXXX had not put in a " stop garnishment '' request for me even though I had asked them to do so when they told me it would end in XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX I was told that they could NOT refund my money because a " stop garnishment '' request had not been put through and they can only refund after this request is put through and a garnishment occurs. Even though this person admitted that he saw that I had called on XX/XX/XXXX several times. I have been dealing with this for 9 months at this point and I get a new story every time I call. I can not afford to continue to do this. I have been late on my car payment several times and this is tanking my credit.

Additionally, I am allowed under the XXXX law [ HEALTH INSURANCE PORTABILITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY ACT OF XX/XX/1996 XXXX, to protect my privacy and medical records from third parties. I do not recall giving permission to MEDICAL CONSULTANTS to release my medical information to a third party. After I graduated from university, my job as a XXXX XXXX XXXX did not pay as much as the school promised. I struggled to pay for rent, car payments, insurance and necessities. With my parents help however I started slowly repaying loans, first those with high interest rates. There was one instance where XXXX processed the payments but did not credit my account. This was my first problem with this private for profit collection agency. After my complaints XXXX issued an apology and recorded my payments. In 2017 still experiencing financial hardship I fell behind in loan payments and XXXX overreacted by placing my loans in default. The U.S. Department of Education demanded that the entire outstanding loans be paid immediately or threaten to refer my debt to a collection agency. So my mother took a XXXX XXXX dollars loan from her employer to help me. On XX/XX/XXXX I called the Department of Education customer service center to make sure that the payoff amount was accurate. ( XXXX phone log is available upon request ). The customer service representative adjusted the total payoff amount to {$19000.00} My parents transferred the money to the D.E. account on the same day. Three weeks later on XX/XX/XXXX, I logged on to XXXX account to make sure that my payment was recorded correctly and that there wasnt any other outstanding charges, the account showed a balance of {$0.00} I truly believed that I was done with loans, but then a letter arrived on XX/XX/XXXX stating I owned more money. How could that be? Now Credit Adjustments Inc. of New Hampshire wants to extort more money {$880.00} for their role in collection process. I am not at fault here. It was the Department of Education or XXXX who failed to maintain procedures to ensure accuracy of loans. Also they provided inaccurate loan payoff information which created false belief regarding my loan. For those reasons I shouldnt be responsible for paying extra interest or collection fees.

I was filing my taxes in XXXX of 2019 and my refund was taken by the US Dep of education. I called and they said Credit Adjustments, inc had taken the debt. I was unaware I had debt with them as the account is closed on my credit report. I called Credit Adjustments inc and tried to set up a payment plan. I told them I could not pay a lot but I would pay something every month. They asked if I was married and I said yes. They asked for his paystubs and tax info from the last year as well. I refused to give them my husband 's info it was not his debt. The total debt was {$15000.00}. He is not in the home he is deployed with the military he has no part in paying it with his income it would have been {$400.00} a month and I barely make {$100.00} a week if I can work with other personal bills. I was thrown in a panic. They then said I qualified for a {$5.00} a month plan after I refused and I have been paying that. I then found out they called my husband with out my consent I believe XX/XX/XXXX and when they did they did not say who they were or that the phonecall was being recorded. They just asked him how I make money and how much. He refused to answer because he didn't know who they were. He looked at the number and it was Credit Adjustments , inc . It has been a few months and they are calling me again. I called them back for them to tell me they had no one able to talk to me and I haven't heard from them since. I feel like their practices are unethical and I am honestly not even sure if I owe this debt! I pay for another college loan that is private and this one seems odd. Their behavior is aggressive for someone that agreed to pay and is being compliant.

If this has been sent to the wrong dept. please forward. ) On XX/XX/XXXX I called Credit Adjustments Inc., the collection agents for my two defaulted federal student loans. ( Credit Adjustments Inc. ) During that call the agent told me in order to qualify for the rehab I would need to pay in full the " Grant Overpayment ''. I was unaware of any overpayment. This was a " first time '' Pell Grant. ( issue date XXXX ) I agreed to pay the overpayment. During that call, before setting up the loan rehab, the agent took my payment in full over the phone. Further, the agent impressed upon me that all negative reports to the credit reporting agencies would be removed upon completion of the rehab program. I successfully completed the loan rehab XX/XX/XXXX. The two federal student loans I have are reporting correctly. Those two debts report " current '' and no late payments. The Pell Grant Overpayment reports Collection. Collection as of XX/XX/XXXX. So, 7 years of a collection is the result. XXXX says the baddie will stay until XXXX. XXXX!!! Called and wrote to XXXX ( other two c.r.a. 's are not reporting the debt ). XXXX reports the trade line as : " Account type : Student Loan '' ( it was grant when distributed, yet reports as Loan. ) " Account status : Paid, was a collection account, insurance claim or government claim or was terminated for default. ''

A debt collector named Credit Adjustments keep calling me and also has sent regular mail to my business demanding payment for a bad check written to an online company named XXXX XXXX in the amount of {$110.00} in XX/XX/XXXX. I repeatedly have told Credit Adjustments that this debt is not correct and is impossible because my company filed as a Corporation with the State of California and was not opened until XXXX of XXXX and that it is impossible for me to have written a bad check in XX/XX/XXXX and that they can verify this information by visiting the Calif State website and look up my corporation name of XXXX XXXX XXXX and verify what I am telling them is the truth. However, they continue to harass me after I verbally informed them to stop calling me and stated they are in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. I have since written an email to this company since asking them to stop calling me did not stop. I then wrote an email to this company called XXXX XXXX and informed them of the same, and they sent me back an email and they stated they asked Credit Adjustments to stop calling me for this collections for this check. This company Credit Adjustments has obviously violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and should be held accountable for their actions so they do not continue these practices to others. Best Regards, XXXX XXXX

At the end of XX/XX/XXXX, I paid my student loan debt with Credit Adjustments Inc ( a debt collector acting on behalf of US Dept of Education ). When I paid the debt, I was informed by the collection agency that I was being offered a " compromise '', which is essentially settling the debt for a smaller amount than actually owed. According to the collection agency, I was informed that any previously reported negative information on my credit report pertaining to this account would be deleted. This has not happened. I still show a total of 48 derogatory remarks on my credit report for US Dept of Education. In addition, the balance on my credit report is being falsely reported. The US Dept of Education updated my balance on my credit reports to show a balance of {$0.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. However, as of XX/XX/XXXX, they re-updated the credit report, which now shows a balance of {$1700.00}. The account was settled in full for {$1600.00}, therefore, it should show a {$0.00} balance. I have attached a copy of the letter that was sent to me from US Dept of Education stating that my balance is settled-in-full. Therefore, I am requesting this be changed immediately to reflect a {$0.00} balance. I have sent numerous letters to the US Dept of Education, as well as disputed directly with all three credit bureaus. This situation is still un-resolved.

Credit Adjustments Inc. calls me numerous times every day at all hours for several years, will not state who they are trying to reach or what their calls are in reference to. They call from " dummy '' phone numbers that do not identify who they are, calls have a local ( XXXX, OH ) prefix. Credit Adjustments Inc. is in XXXX OH. They called me today from XXXX, a XXXX XXXX Ohio prefix. I do not have any debts other that normal debts such as house payment, auto loan, and 2 student loans that are current on payments. Old debts from a XX/XX/XXXXChapter XXXX Bankruptcy were discharged in XX/XX/XXXX after completing the plan. I have no idea if they are trying to collect on an old discharged debt. They refuse to say. I do not know if they are trying to collect an old debt because they refuse to say. They refuse to send written information as required by law after 5 days. This has been an ongoing problem for several years with these harassers. There is nothing on my credit reports to indicate the possible nature of their continued harassment. The one time I answered the phone and tried to get the woman to tell me who she was calling for and why, she refused unless I gave her my name and SS number which I of course did not do.

I had a student loan go into default and in XXXX of XXXX, I went into a rehabilitation program with Credit Adjustment. They sent me paperwork and I signed all the paperwork and they have been taking payments since XXXX and they stopped in XXXX with no notification in writing as to why. In review of my bank account I realized the amount agreed upon was not being deducted this is when i called to the collection agency and was advised that I did not qualify for the rehabilitation program because they made a mistake. In XXXX XXXX, I was put through an approval process and I complied with all requirements in a timely manner, I was approved and the agreement was signed and everything was fine. I have spoken to them on several occasions about the problem with no success of getting them to honor the agreement. I have not received a definite answer other then the fact that she does not qualify. Why did I qualify in XXXX of XXXX and not in XXXX of XXXX? I have the signed agreement and all the paperwork from XXXX of XXXX. I just wants them to hold up their end of the agreement. I has completed everything they have ask of me.

I sent my tax paperwork into credit adjustment on XX/XX/XXXX. I was told by the agent that I was clear of an offset and that he didnt see anything on my account. He said as long as I set up my first payment I was good. I set up my payments and made sure they took them out of my account each month. I filed my taxes XX/XX/XXXX. Im in a group on XXXX and saw that there is a number to call to check on offsets and I called it. Sure enough there was on offset with department of education. I called Department of Education & Credit Adjustments and was informed an offset was placed on my account XX/XX/XXXX. I filed a complaint against the agent for giving me false information. If he wouldve told me that I had an offset I wouldnt have filed my taxes until the offset was lifted. My complaint was resolved and the Department of Education proved my claimed was valid and that he did indeed give me false information. But, they were still moving on with collections and he was going to be talked to and go into training. This is ridiculous, I shouldnt still be penalized because of what the agents you hired told me.

Okay, yesterday I was shocked to find out my refund has been offset again. After all day on the phone the only answer I got was okay we will put a dispute on your offset. This was told to me by the collection agency that works with Dept. of education. This was XXXX XXXX. I filed these loans over twenty years ago. Over the years I worked for 10 years I had my wages garnished weekly for a total that could buy me a college! Also year after year from approximately XXXX till now EVERY refund has been taken as well. This is where it gets very interesting I asked and pleaded for my payment details. I believe there is either a HUGE error or something.. Now when I was a kid I really didnt take track BUT I do know I have transcripts and my family didnt have much so I also received grants and aid. There is no way this can still be unpaid. I didnt even graduate!!! So I learned the hard way. I want to know what do I have to do because NOBODY is giving me an answer. I am in financial ruin and was relying on that refund. Please help!!

Dealing with communication tactics and improper contact to third parties ( family and relatives ). He has gotten ahold of me multiple times and knows the number to reach me at, but continues to call my husband ( multiple times ) my husbands father, my mother, my brother and possibly others ( these are the only ones who have reported getting a strange call from " XXXX XXXX at CAI trying to reach XXXX XXXX, please have her give me a call back. '' in voicemail. Of course family has googled CAI and his name and found it to be debt collection- which I find in direct violation of FDCPA and my rights. His harrassment continues and when I tried to reach him by phone have been told he is " on a conference call '' and will call me back- so phone calls are always on his terms. He wants me to consolidate this privately held student loan into my federal student loans ( Which I was told not to do due to interest rates skyrocketing ). I explained all of this to him and he continues harassment.

I agreed to a compromised amount for my student loan of 10 years that I never knew existed in XX/XX/2018. I began making payments in XX/XX/2018. I called the company that made the compromise with me on XX/XX/2018 and specified I wanted to pay the remaining balance off in full. The representative added the amount up for me and I paid the amount I was told is the FULL BALANCE. He assured me I would receive a paid in full letter in 3-4 days. 3 weeks went by and I had not received anything so I called them back to see where my letter was. They then stated that the representative gave me the wrong amount by {$50.00} and since my compromise was to be paid in full by XX/XX/2018 and was not due to them giving me the wrong information I now owed an additional {$1400.00} in interest and fees. I asked why no one gave me a call in those 10 to let me know THEY had made a mistake and she said she would research the situation and get back to me.

On XX/XX/XXXX, I was contacted by Credit Adjustment , Inc about a medical debt. I stated that I had not received any written communication detailing the debt I supposedly owed. She told me a letter was sent. I let them know I would like to review the letter, look into the validity of the debt, and would contact them next week. I asked them to please stop repeatedly calling my phone in the meantime. I was told that this is their process and they can note the account but would keep calling me. I informed them that I had rights to not be harassed and to receive my communications via mail. She told me they would not oblige. I asked for her name and she refused to give it to me and wanted me to speak to her supervisor. I informed her that there was no reason to talk to a supervisor, that I wanted to know her name, and that I would be filing a report. She refused and stated she would note my account, but would still continue to call.

I constantly receive calls from ( XXXX ) XXXX and they usually leave messages simply stating that " this call is from a debt collector ''. They never mention the name of the company they are working, or my name, or what the supposed debt is for or what the dollar amount is. I never call them back because I do not owe any debt and this sounds like a scam. I figured that they would eventually quit calling me since I never answer their call but it's been 4 months now and the calls have only become MORE frequent ( weekly ). Sometimes I receive calls from other numbers that sound very similar but I certainly can't prove that the calls are connected. So far, I have received calls from this number XXXX on the following dates and times : XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX Is there anyway I can stop this?

I received a letter dated XX/XX/18 from Credit Adjustments , Inc regarding defaulted student loan. This was a defaulted student loan to someone with my same first and last ( maiden ) name and it has been following me since the late XXXX though I keep disputing it - I am not the person they seek and I have not defaulted on any student loans. Most recently in XX/XX/2018 I was contacted by the Dept. of Education regarding this loan and as requested I sent them a copy of my social security card and passport to dispute the loan but just a few weeks later I get this letter from Credit Adjustments. About five years ago I was contacted by a different debt collector regarding this loan and after submitting a complaint to the CFPB they stopped contacting me. Debt collectors need to do a better job verifying the people they harass are the actual people they seek.

When I researched the telephone number online I found that they call to collect a student loan. Our student loan payment comes out of our checking account religiously every month so there should be no reason for a student loan collector to be contacting me. I spoke with Credir Adjustments Inc after receiving a debt thats not owed. I asked them to validate the debt and the couldnt. They stated that they got the collection from XXXX. I did in fact call XXXX billing department they looked through my bills and seen that the bill never went into collections and they have no idea to how this company ended up with my information as the bill was paid by my medical insurance.
