I was contacted by this company on XX/XX/XXXX. I was told that this is regarding a debt with XXXX XXXX XXXX ( never heard of them ) for a payday loan for the amount of {$540.00} with an origination date of XX/XX/XXXX - but then after further inquiry, it appears that this loan may not have originated that date but that was the date it was due so the origination date may have been as much as two months before that date.
The XXXX call was transferred to a guy ( not sure who that guy was ) and I told him that this " alleged loan '' was placed into a bank account that had been closed since XX/XX/XXXX so that this potentially was a fraud account they were handling. He told me that I needed to take it up with the court and hung up on me.
After calling back, I asked to speak with a manager. I was transferred to XXXX. I explained to him the issue and he provided me with the information I requested. I asked for a debt validation letter to be mailed because if this turns out to be fraud, I have various avenues to pursue. His demeanor completely changed after that point, accusing me of threatening him. I told him I was n't threatening him but I was just stating a fact and trying to get information in writing.
The information they have is all confused. The initial call ( on voicemail ) said that I needed to be available from XXXX-XXXX for the currier service from XXXX County to serve me with documents. Again, this is the first contact I have every had with this company. I asked him where he was going to mail the debt validation letter to, he provided me with an old ( 3 year old ) address. I asked him where they got XXXX County from. He said that is where the address is currently at ( the address he provided was in XXXX County ).
I asked if he had contact information from the company they got the debt from ( he said it came from a collector ). He informed me he did n't have that information but it would be provided in the letter as he did n't have that information readily available. I also asked if he had contact information for XXXX XXXX. He said he did n't and had never heard of this company ( weird, right? ).
I told him I would call back if I did n't have a debt validation letter in my email by XXXX tomorrow ( XX/XX/XXXX ).
I am attaching a copy of my last bank statement from the XXXX account he is speaking of to show that it was closed on XX/XX/XXXX before the alleged deposit. This account had many fraudulent activities which is what it was closed and all other issues have been resolved accordingly.

I was contacted XXXX XXXX on my work phone and cell by Cornerstone Mediation. They contacted me about a loan I took out almost XXXX years ago. They said that they filed with the XXXX XXXX court and wanted to serve me papers if I did not call them back to setup payment arrangements. The next day after looking up the business online to see if it was a legitimate business and checking to see if there was a suit filed against me, which there was not, I checked my credit report and found nothing from this business was on my account. I reported them to the Better Business Bureau on XXXX XXXX 2015. I contacted the BBB today and XXXX who is handling my complaint told me that she sent out XXXX letters and has called with no response. I called as well and got a voice message saying " the person you are trying to call is not available '' another red flag. XXXX then told me to report to the FTC. The Business is : Cornerstone Mediation, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, New York XXXX. The toll free number is XXXX
