In XXXX of XXXX, the end of my XXXX, I was admitted to XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX, Oregon. After several days of XXXX, I ended up leaving and getting discharged. I had a XXXX XXXX. I was not going to be admitted unless I was promised that I would not be responsible for any expenses. After many staff promises of making sure I would not owe a dime, I was then quickly admitted. I had been told that this issue could be from all of the XXXX I had put on myself from XXXX taking me out of my home and permanently removed from my family the year before. XXXX and the school liaison placed me on XXXX and onto the Oregon XXXX XXXX when I was removed from my home. I was unaware of needing to reapply at the time. I had decided to make myself an XXXX student and work full-time graveyard while continuing XXXX during the daytime. I chose not to go to XXXX XXXX because I did not want that as I did not hear very good things about the XXXX parents in that area. Little did I know that I would become XXXX Finally, after much determination, I applied to college after not receiving XXXX single bill from any of the XXXX hospitals I was admitted to ( XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX, and XXXX XXXX XXXX ). I attended college and ended up having a little boy born to me in XXXX XXXX. I was a single mom and needed a reliable car. After the XXXX car I bought, I was commuting over XXXX miles a day from work, school, and daycare and decided to trade that small SUV in for a small car that had superior gas mileage. This car, the dealership told me I had a medical bill on my credit from back in XXXX. " What??? No I do n't! '' I exclaimed immediately. Right away, that SAME DAY, I called Columbia Collections. I gave Columbia all my information and what they asked of me. The next week a man called me, I offered to pay them {$50.00} a month as I was a single mom living and working by myself with my newborn. He denied the payment option. Quickly, a XXXX XXXX was contacting me by certified mail. I had been served. I went to court and took a friend with me to be a witness. When it was my turn to speak, I could n't explain or finish what I had to say. The XXXX stated he had worked with XXXX through Columbia Collections and she was very fair and would make sure I was taken care of. He snapped his gavel and the court was adjourned. Within days, I had a garnishment on me from my place of employment at XXXX XXXX in XXXX, Oregon, I had a lien against my bank account and a negative amount in my account, I had a lien against XXXX other bank accounts that I had as well. I placed my child support money I drew out from the XXXX XXXX, and deposited it into my account to be able to afford rent, and transportation for my son, along with daycare. After what XXXX XXXX did to me, I had no money to pay for anything, let alone food. I had to take my son to friends to live in order to even eat. I tried and tried contacting XXXX XXXX by calling her on the phone number she had given me. No answer and no call back after leaving numerous voicemails on her personal identified voicemail. I continued getting garnished and quit my job so I could focus on college. My grades dropped due to stress and financial hardships. I spoke with many lawyers, and XXXX XXXX was the only lawyer that gave me suggestions to pursue this lawsuit. I wrote a certified letter on XXXX XXXX, XXXX to Columbia Collections Service XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX OR XXXX asking for a payoff amount so I could pay the debt off ( with a personal loan I was going to receive from a credit Union ). The letter was signed for on XXXX XXXX, XXXX by XXXX XXXX. I waited for a response and nothing. The attorney XXXX XXXX said that they ca n't touch my money.

On XXXX XXXX , XXXX 017 I mailed dispute letters along with documents of proof to all XXXX credit bureaus, XXXX , XXXX , and XXXX regarding XXXX collection accounts from Columbia Collections that did not belong to me. On XXXX XXXX 2017, I re ceived a letter from XXXX ( via mail ) and XXXX ( via email/online ) that they resulted in having XXXX of XXXX collection accounts removed from my credit report. Now mind you, these XXXX collection accounts belong to the same person ( XXXX ) and the actual person entitled to pay all XXXX debts is the same as well and only XXXX of the lesser debts were removed. I 've provided legal documents for my dispute, stating I am not entitled to any of these debts because the minor was not in my care at the time. I 've contacted the collection agency , Columbia Collections , and they stated that I am entitled to pay by law ( If that 's the case why were XXXX of the XXXX accounts closed ), that they did n't know why the credit bureau is stating XXXX of the XXXX accounts are closed because it 's showing on their end that I still have all XXXX accounts still open and we would have to talk to a lawyer ( but I have a court order stating I am not entitled to pay those debts ). Therefore, the results is that they will not rid my information from any of the collection accounts. So then I contacted XXXX regarding my conversation wit h Columbia collec tions and they stated that the collection company did indeed inform them they delete XXXX collection accounts and the XXXX one, they were claiming was " accurate ''. I even spoke with a XXXX supervisor and he said the same thing and they can not remove anything off of my credit file if the collection agency is claiming they have " accurate '' information and that I would have to deal with the collection agency and get a letter from them stating the XXXX collection account is deleted so they can remove it from my credit file or file a complaint with Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. All in all, My social security was fraudulently and illegally used in the first place by someone who is not entitled to, and Now XXXX XXXX will not remove my information from these debts or the XXXX debt and is illegally attaching my name to something I am not legally entitled to pay for.

I started paying this debt through garnishment XXXX 2014. At the end of XXXX 2014 I was laid off from my full time job. I tried to contact Columbia Collections Services multiple times to pay the remaining part of the bill in full but was never called back. For the last year I have left messages weekly for XXXX, the rep in charge of my account with no response. I have also called the lawyer on file and left messages and never got a response. Instead of letting me pay my debt, Columbia has tried to seize my bank funds twice and has issued garnishment papers to multiple places that I did n't even work at. This process of filing new papers over and over has resulted in over {$2000.00} in fees on an original debt amount of {$1100.00}. I wanted to settle this debt over a year ago and have n't been given the opportunity. I feel like this is unfair and should be illegal. Especially given this debt was from a medical bill that I should n't have even aquired. Columbia is now garnishing XXXX % of my income monthly and still wo n't call me back. My boyfriend has been calling everyday as well trying to pay the debt in full and is also being ignored. I am writing you this letter to file a complaint. I am not the first person who this has happened to. When you look Columbia up online, you find nothing but complaints of many people going through very similiar situations. I have since paid my debt back and I understand having some added interest, but doubling the debt is absolutely ridiculous. Had they let me pay it in full, the fees would 've never grown like they have. I would appreciate your assitance in this matter so that I can pay off my debt in full without having to pay the additional amount being charged as a result of the unethical and unprofessional behavior that Columbia Collections Services Inc. has exhibited over the past 18 months. Best RegardsXXXX XXXX

I found an account on my husbands credit report for {$100.00} for XXXX XXXX from Columbia Collections we had received zero paperwork from them. When I contacted them they informed me it was an old medical debt. This amount was never put on my credit report only my husbands. The account was paid in full on XXXX / XXXX / XXXX . This company then on XXXX / XXXX / XXXX filed the account as outstanding on my credit report after it was paid in full. Now they are refusing to provide me with my accounting of this account that was already paid. They said they do not have to provide me with detailed accounting that shows when they report to credit companies. I have issues with a company that is reporting a debt that has been paid in full after the fact to my credit report, this is against the law and the fair credit reporting act.

The very first time Columbia Collection Services called me I told them that my income was primarily from SSDI. There were several debts to XXXX XXXX XXXX Hospital, I have never been. Other medical bills I also said weren't mine Prior to a period of time I had regular health insurance that had only a {$20.00} deductible. Columbia collections was rude and hounded me to pay the bills, said " aren't you going to pay these bills. I explained " NO, the bills aren't mine '' That didn't matter, they are all pushy and basically manipulate the situation trying to make you look and feel like a low life for not paying them. This started the date they received the debts. This entire situation is stressful, they leave up to 2 minute messages, harassing me to pay the debt.

I received a letter in XXXX XXXX from Columbia Collections. It said that I owed money for my ex-husband 's hospital stay in XXXX of XXXX. I told them that it was the first I heard about it, but they said they called me once in XXXX, and I told them that I was getting divorced and was not responsible for my ex-husband 's bill. They said okay and did n't contact me again for ~ 2 years. When I got the letter in XXXX of XXXX and they explained that I was responsible, I paid it right away. I now have a mark on my credit report, which lowers my credit score. I do n't feel that I was notified properly.

They had me served at a bogus address so they would win by default they garnished me repeatedly without me noticing. Refuse to send me a statement refuse to tell me how much money they have received or is owed, refuse to notify court & credit bureaus that they have been paid. They also garnished the corporation 's bank account that I am a member in not my personal account not my money. I had no knowledge of this debt never received a bill the hospital failed to bill me or my insurance. I found out about this when I had my identity stolen i found it on my credit report and called them.

Columbia Collections is on my credit report for unknown reasons. I have never agreed to do any business whatsoever with this company or any company that they represent. Furthermore, this involves a supposed medical debt and it is a HIPAA violation for a medical provider to give medical info about me to a 3rd party, such as Columbia Collections. If the medical provider believes that I owe them a debt then they need to collect it themselves. I never agreed to do any business whatsoever with Columbia Collections.

Columbia collection company has cancelled my payment arrangement twice and then immediately garnished my bank account for debt repayment. They took my boyfriends workers compensation money out of our account in XXXX 2014. Now they sent me a letter saying I defaulted on my new payment arrangement because it closes every six months. I 'm apparently supposed to re start it or they consider it a default and garnish my bank account again. What can I do?!!

I have been disputing a medical debt under the name of an old boy friend that has been listed as a joint account on my credit for years. I have disputed the medical debt with the credit agencies and called the collection agency that holds the accounts as well however the collections remain on my credit report. I am not married nor have I ever been married so there is no possible way I can have a joint medical debt with a spouse.
