I have had problems w/the COLLECTION AGENCY IN THE PAST. COLLECTION BUREAU OF THE HUDSON VALLEY. In XXXX 2007 i been punched in the mouth by my sibling & needed stitches. My son was going to drive me to the ER when the ambulance showed up-which i did n't call. i refused their services-as i had only had MEDICARE @ the time & ambulance did nothing for me. I was repeatedly sent a bill in which Medicare had paid part of it but they still wanted {$150.00}. I suffered a XXXX in XXXX of 2007 & was in XXXX for 3 months. Of course the bills piled up before i was even discharged. i did have a tidy amount of $ in the bank & though i was XXXXmy son would sit me up for an hour a day to make payments by credit card. I paid everyone a little something. Please remember i was hospitalized for 4 months. These " people '' CBHV came into my life again & would call all hours-not following the law. But as i was so badly injured-i never thought to report them. This had nothing to do w/the XXXX ambulance bill. I paid them off just to get rid of their " guerilla tactics '' as i was a very sick woman. Now keep in mind-my XXXX score is over XXXX! What they had done w/the original {$150.00} charge is kept changing the date of service SO IT WOULD REMAIN ON MY CREDIT REPORTS even after 7 years-in which it is SUPPOSED TO BE REMOVED. Now on to the current charges. After spending {$50000.00} -all the money to my name-i then applied for MEDICAID IN NYS. So this current charge when i was seen at XXXX XXXX Hospital, i received a bill for {$25.00}. I called billing & gave them my MEDICAID # and this was supposed to clear this charge. OR SO I WAS TOLD of {$25.00}. i just received a COLLECTION NOTICE from this corrupt collection agency in which it is charging me {$47.00} for an original bill of {$25.00} -again- i thought ( and was told IT was taken care of ) as due to my incredibly LOW INCOME from XXXX ; i would have qualified for the Charity Grant! so CBHV not only keeps reporting a {$150.00} by changing the date of service TO KEEP IT ON MY CREDIT HISTORY which obviously is not effecting it & gt ; & gt ; & gt ; IF MY XXXX IS OVER XXXX! but what THEY ARE DOING IS ILLEGAL. AND NOW THIS ERRONEOUS CHARGE from {$25.00} to {$47.00}. XXXX! I did write to them & tell them not only am i DISPUTING THIS CHARGE but knowing " their '' falsified reporting tactics-was reporting to you. I receive after paying MEDICARE & my MEDICAID SPENDOWN-ANOTHER ISSUE-which they are continually harassing me telling me my medical receipts are not applicable to my SPENDOWN which is incorrect as i know WHAT IS & IS N'T. Anyway-after paying {$100.00}? to MEDICARE & A SPENDOWN OF {$64.00} A MONTH-i am trying to live on {$830.00} a month! AND AS A HOMEOWNER-I PAY LAND & SCHOOL TAXES which i pay for ambulance services right in my TAX BILL! yes, i have REPORTED various issues here. But my MAIN COMPLAINT NOW IS W/ C.B.H.V who i do n't owe this money to. Certainly NOT their " arbitrary '' charge of {$47.00}! AND THEIR CONTINUAL CHANGING THE DATE OF SERVICE FROM 2007 AND REPORTING TO XXXX ; XXXX XXXX ; XXXX ... IF I DID N'T PAY MY BILLS WHY WOULD MY FICO SCORE BE SO HIGH? and due to trying to maintain a home on {$830.00} a month i live on CREDIT CARDS so my score is exceptionally HIGH. I AM NOT PAYING THEM FOR THEIR LIES. AND THE WAY THEY " threatened me in the past '' when i could n't even go to bathroom by myself. Thanks for your attention to this matter AS THIS COLLECTION AGENCY NEEDS AUDITING.

Initially purchased a bunch of products online. I had made duplicate orders on several items and there was a couple occasions where those items did not arrive. I reached out to to the retailer and they refuse to cooperate in which I then communicated to my bank XXXX. They initially issued the credit lawfully as what should have been done and then after seeing a credit of similar or same amount as I had mentioned I ordered multiple of the same items they went ahead and took it upon themselves to overdraft my account for the amount in which they had given me already and initially as you'll be able to see that in the transaction history. I immediately called them and asked what happened and they said that I needed to take it up with the retailer and I explained to them that I did do everything as all of my due diligence which is the reason why I was reaching out to the bank. I then scanned all of the purchasing receipts and all of the required information that they asked of me and still never did they give me a response back. Now the amount of {$730.00} is being brought up in collections proceeding. Please inform XXXX Bank that if they do not resolve this I wish to move to arbitration. I will formally let them know upon rejection if that be the case. They assured me through multiple forms of advertisement upon me becoming a customer that I was safe with them and I had this protection for instances just like this and in turn I got hit from both sides and it causes significant amount of damage to my credit and now with the collection proceeding. The irony is I had not received a response back regarding all of the paperwork I gave them around this transaction after they already gave me the credit and then enabled enough time for me to spend it before readjusting it to their convenience with many occurring fees over. They refuse to basically work with me at all told me to reach out to the retailer and I explain to them that I have done everything and that this was their protection they offered and then they refused to capitiate and even get back to me and yet they take the time out to put this into collections after I attempted to send them a personally issued bond for {$1000.00} as it is the only payment I have available at this time and it's still not lawful I should not owe anyway even this Bond I have personally issued is worth more than the credit behind this incident. The amount is unlawful and I gave them everything they asked for and was in constant communication and they still just continued their processes right over top of my request. I initially made a complaint because they denied my bond and still continue to proceed with collections but really this complaint is because they initially issued the credit as they assured me they would behind the protection they advertised as a customer and then wait for me to spend that amount only to overdrafted eventually and then start to charge me fees because I can not afford to pay back such a sum. This is predatory practice in my opinion and should be addressed appropriately. I want them to restore my account to the appropriate balance out of the negative so that I can use the services that I was promised initially. After all of this honestly it's their prerogative if they want to close the account that is fine just please cease and desist all collection practices and acts as it is not a lawful debt. Thank you

I attempted to cancel my service with XXXX, formerly XXXX, on XX/XX/XXXX. They kept me on the phone for more than an hour trying to cancel the service. Continually transferring me to new retention members. Towards the end of the call I was so exhausted by talking to them that they offered a deal, I submitted and told them fine I would try it. I called back twice to cancel the new deal, hoping it wouldn't be another hour plus ordeal. On XX/XX/XXXX I thought I cancelled everything, the appointment to install new equipment, the proposed service, everything. Middle of XXXX, I received a bill saying I owed a bill higher than any I had previously been given. I dismissed it as an error. When the next month I received another bill at over {$300.00} I called. I believe this was XX/XX/XXXX. I expressed my frustration that I was still getting bills for service I cancelled, and the customer service representative told me she could see I called in and asked to cancel service in XXXX and she would remove everything and I shouldn't be bothered again. The next month I received another bill. In between these emails I was also getting multiple text messages and replying STOP to all of them. XXXX has been harassing me asking for money and claiming I owe them something I do not. When I spoke to customer service in XXXX I was livid, and was not polite when I called. I apologize for that, but multiple times I have had such difficulty getting them to listen to my issue. This time they told me the customer service rep who I spoke to in XXXX cancelled my previous debt but did not stop my future billings or possibly only removed part of the debt. This representative told me they would have to review every call I have ever made to the company to see if my claims were correct or not. They told me that the representatives I spoke to in the past did not make any notes on my calls and therefore they can not know what I requested without listening to the calls. How is it that all of their representatives did not make notes on my calls if it is XXXX for them to do so. Did they all disregard the procedure of the company or did the company purposefully loose the notes of the representatives. I never heard the results of the inquiry into all of my calls. The rep told me he would call in 10 days with results. I have heard nothing until I received a collection letter from XXXX XXXX Hudson Valley. I have followed their instruction to dispute the debt. I have not called back to XXXX as I am sure they will say that now the debt has been passed on to collections they have nothing left to do with it. I am beyond frustrated with Optimum/Suddenlink I never want to speak to them again. They were the only high speed internet option, by design of the former XXXX of XXXX, who was thought to receive compensation for keeping it such when we moved here in 2016. They have always had spotty service, often throttling the speeds and completely loosing connection multiple times a week. We did not report every outage as most of the time they were of limited duration. Please tell me what I can do to remove this collection from my credit history, it is not fair for them to sell a false debt to another company and expect me to pay for it.

This letter is a formal complaint that Collection Bureau Hudson Valley is reporting inaccurate and incomplete credit information.. Credit reporting laws ensure that bureaus report on only 100 % accurate credit information. Every step must be taken to assure the information reported is completely accurate and correct. According to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Section 609 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( A ), you are required by federal law to verify- through the physical verification of the original signed consumer contract-any and all accounts posted on a credit report. Otherwise, anyone paying for reporting services could fax, mail or email in a fraudulent account. I called XXXX after being transferred four times because no one could find an account, I was transferred to a XXXX, who advised me that she couldnt pull up the account but put me on hold and advised me that the account was transferred to a debt collection agency by the name of Collection Bureau Hudson Valley , Inc, XXXX. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX , NY XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX, I was told that I needed to contact them to get a copy of this account. I spoke with a XXXX XXXX and advised her of the dispute that this account should be closed due to the merchandise was returned. XXXX XXXX advised me that she was showing an original balance of {$620.00}, I advised her that this is incorrect, the XXXX was returned and the amount was only {$390.00} plus prior to returning it I made a payment of {$30.00}. XXXX XXXX advised me that she was showing the amount was over {$620.00}, I requested that she send me a copy of the transactions. ( see attached documents ) She agreed, and I received the transaction showing incorrect dates, incorrect return dates and a credit for {$390.00}. I am showing a balance of {$440.00} and a lot of other charges which it doesnt list what it was for and showing a return date of XX/XX/XXXX which, it was incorrect, the correct month was in XX/XX/XXXX. I wasnt credited any finance charges from the sales, which I should have been credited, so it seems that XXXX was charging me late fees on their error. This should have been a XXXX balance. After going over the Transaction Summary, I called XXXX XXXX back and advised her that I received the transaction and that the information is incorrect. I advised her that I am showing a bunch of transactions on this account for only an XXXX ordered and the transactions do not have any descriptions. I was advised that I needed to contact XXXX and let them explain it, I advised her that XXXX advised me that they couldnt pull up the account after it is turned over to a collection agency and I needed to speak to the collection agency. XXXX XXXX advised me that she didnt know why they told me this because they have nothing to do with the product or the order summary. I advised XXXX with XXXX and kept asking him who XXXX spoke with to verify this account because neither XXXX nor Collection Bureau Hudson Valley , Inc knows anything about this account, but I keep getting notices from the Credit Bureau that the creditor advised that the account is accurate and the account is still showing a charge off and I don't even have the merchandise.

XXXX has been predatory sending us false bills and wrong information- I will start back in XX/XX/2022. My husband sent in our cable equipment and cancelled our cable service. XXXX sends a full bill cable/phone/internet for {$390.00} including billing us for 4 DVR cable boxes. I was furious and decided I would handle the matter as my husband has a busy and demanding finance job. We didn't see a cable bill for XXXX or XXXX but they insisted we owed them for XXXX. I called them several times and no one helped. We decided at this point after over 12 years of being their customers that we wanted nothing to do with them. After looking into different options we decided we were going to switch our internet service to XXXX for XXXX. We called XXXX and had our appointment scheduled so that at the very start of XXXX we would have Internet Service and immediately return our modem and cancel service with XXXX. At this point XXXX offered us several free months of service and a rate less than what we were paying XXXX. I explained we had a contract with XXXX and they explained we had a certain amount of time to cancel the contract. After the headaches we went through with XXXX I decided to not accept their offer and just move on. In XXXX XXXX sent my husband a bill for {$210.00} for a billing cycle XXXX for Internet when I had CANCELLED. That was it for me. I decided to look back at what was claimed to be owed and what we had paid. I have the receipts still with my husbands name proving he returned the cable equipment so that we would not be billed in XXXX. I also kept the receipts showing I returned the modem at the start of XXXX. I finally complained to corporate and cc : XXXX the FCC. Of course then I heard from them. Corporate was going to do an " investigation '' XXXX in their investigation claimed that I " ME '' sent back the cable equipment when I still have the receipt from XXXX showing it was my HUSBAND. Also, we no longer owe {$210.00} but now {$45.00}. Meanwhile I had looked back at all the receipts/paid service etc and they owe us {$170.00}. We over-paid!!!! 28 days after XXXX XXXX XXXX investigation '' we received a letter of notice of intent to collect by the Collection Bureau of the Hudson Valley XXXX I reached out to them, XXXX and the FCC with all of my receipts and evidence supporting that XXXX actually owes us. After YEARS of paying close to $ XXXX for service by XXXX and declining a service with them for less than what I am paying XXXX I would not make a big deal out of {$45.00} except that is unethical to just go and bill and send to collections whatever you feel like. Not to mention my husband is in finance and sending him to collections can hurt his credit score and any potential job offers. I have since sent a detailed description of what transpired and CC : XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX of the Hudson Valley and the FCC on this matter. The form says do not include personal information but if you want the receipts or emails I would be more than happy to provide this to you. I have all the PROOF!!

this is my story i had a acct with a bank called XXXX last year, XXXX night when it was late and i was bored i went checking out dating sites to see who offered trial memberships, cause i had very little money in my acct. so i found a place called XXXX i believe they offered a 3 day trial for like XXXX and change or XXXX and change, now knowing i could not join for a month plus i did not just want to i checked there 3 day trial period put in my info hit submt, next thing i know it shows on my comp i successfully upgraded to 6 months for XXXX i almost dropped dead. i immed called them told them this was there error correct it at once they were very rude nasty and hung up. the following day i called XXXX bank explained what happened they said they would dispute it. well end result was the bank took the merchants word over mine, why in gods name would i sign up for a 6 mo membership at that price when i only had about XXXX dollars in my acctso because i believe i was treated unfairly by the bank and they took a complete stranger say so over there customer i closed the acct, since that day they have continued to add charges to the orig wrong amount that now its over XXXX XXXX dollars. now a collection agency is threatening me with action unless i pay this immediately there name is cbhv located in XXXX ny, i sent them a letter telling them the bank was at fault not me but even though i was not at fault i was still willing to work something out but not for over XXXX hunfred dollars, they if not today should rec this letter this week, in todays mail another letter came telling me i have 7 days to pay or whatever, so i tried to call the office and explain my situation and work out some kind of agreement even though again i was not wrong. i called them 4 times said who i was each time they hung up so now im fed up with them period. i want complaints filed against them as many as you can.. there phone number is XXXX XXXX XXXX if you call good luck you are gon na need it. what i had intentions of doing which i stated in my letter i sent to them even though this whols matter was not my XXXX im no fool and choose to not be treated as XXXX. the name of that site i believe exactly was XXXX is to split the difference, but im on a fixed income ss XXXX and have many bills to pay here this so called collection co i call the XXXX artists when i called 4 times and was hung up om didnt even let me say a word, i feel first i was in the right all along and was not believed then even when i was willing to compromise and split the diff only over a period of time and was hung up on 4 times they deserve nothing no longer. but if they are willing to talk ill listen but it has to be on my terms any help you can give me will be great im no fool and im not gon na be treated as XXXX by anyone. the name of that site i believe is XXXX i think any assistance you can give me would be greatly appreciated. ty regards. In XX/XX/XXXX I returned internet equipment to XXXX in person XXXX XXXX, Texas ) due to moving across the state and no longer needing their internet services. At that time, I had not utilized the entire month of services and was informed that the monthly payment would be pro-rated to the amount that was actually used ( as this is something XXXX had done a month or two prior with my account when I had moved then XXXX. Later on, I received a bill with the entire monthly amount, so I contacted XXXX directly ( via telephone ) to ask about the pro-rated amount. Each time I called to ask about this, I was told on multiple occasions by several different XXXX representatives that someone from billing would contact me directly to assist with this. Each call was stated to be recorded for quality and training purposes ( so this information should be on file with recorded calls ). No one ever called me back to discuss the prorated amount, and I had made several calls myself to XXXX to address this in between XX/XX/XXXX and XXXX XXXX with no luck. Months later I received a notification that the XXXX account was now considered " in collections '' and was turned over to a collections agency. I disputed the claim through XXXX, and after communicating with the dispute center, I " won '' the dispute and it was removed from my credit report. Fast forward to XX/XX/XXXX where I have received another derogatory mark on my credit report involving XXXX once again ( same issue ), but was opened up with a different collection agency. I contacted the new collections agency and was told that XXXX will probably continue to harass me until I paid the full amount. Once again I explained the situation and was told it would be noted on the collections agency account. I filed another dispute with XXXX to continue disputing the derogatory mark in XX/XX/XXXX, and am continuing to deal with this situation. I do not agree with this derogatory mark or the way XXXX is handling the situation due to my attempts to contact and pay the prorated amount on multiple occasions before it went into collections, not being informed that the account would be turned over to collections, the fact that I " won '' the first dispute against the same account/company/issue in XXXX, being told directly by a collections agent that this company ( XXXX ) is known for continuing to harass customers until they are paid and will continue to probably file derogatory marks against my credit with different collections agencies until I'm " pretty much tired of dealing with them and pay, '' and the fact that XXXX doesn't even have my name spelled correctly on the account. I don't think it is fair to allow XXXX to continue to open this case up over and over by utilizing different collections agencies for the same issue that has already been disputed and " resolved '', and continue to harass previous customers.

I was hospitalized in XX/XX/XXXX 2016 and had XXXX XXXX was an out of network provider at the in-network hospital where I was taken. This was not disclosed, and several months after I was discharged, I began to receive bills for over $ 8K for few days of consults. In XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX sent me an appeal form and actually instructed me on how to file and appeal with my insurance company. I was still injured, and required assistance, but I managed to submit an appeal to my insurance and sent a copy to the office to notify them that the appeal was filed ( I was given a form and a return envelop from XXXX XXXX XXXX ). My insurance approved the payment and sent XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX a check in XX/XX/XXXX ( Check # XXXX ). In XX/XX/XXXX, I began to receive notices from the Collection Bureau of the Hudson Valley Inc. stating the bill had not been paid. I confirmed that the bill was paid by insurance. The check was actually cashed by the time I received the first notice. Unfortunately, I am still being chased by XXXX XXXX XXXX. Today, I received a call while at work. She informed me that I was in collections, that my credit report was being affected and threatened legal action. When I stated that the bill had been paid, insurance had confirmed, that I would have my lawyer contact her, she stated " that wo n't be good for you ''. I again reiterated that the bill was paid, that XXXX XXXX s office was fully aware that I had appealed and should not have sent this to collections. I asked if my credit was being affected and she confirmed they have reported me and my credit is suffering. I told her I would have a lawyer follow up since there was no reason to continue to pursue a debt that had already been paid more than 3 months ago. I was again threatened and told I was making things worse for myself if I involved a lawyer. I asked if she had asked XXXX XXXX 's office if they had been paid and her response was " we do n't contact the creditor unless YOU pay use or give us proof the debt is paid. '' XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX was aware I was appealing to insurance for payment yet submitted my account to collections affecting my credit ( possibly as they were receiving a check! ). They cashed the check and did not put a stop on the collection agency. The collection agency ( Collection Bureau of the Hudson Valley, Inc. ) is chasing a debt that has been paid and refuses to check with the creditor to confirm if the debt has indeed been paid. In the meantime my credit is being affected/further threatened, I am being threatened with legal action ( thanks to XXXX XXXX ), and am cautioned against having a lawyer because " that will make things worse for you ''. I must ask for assistance from the CFPB in the meantime to address the attempts for a double payday and attacks on my credit. Please hold these 2 companies accountable!

XXXX - Disconnected XXXX internet service in XX/XX/XXXX. Due to switching to XXXX XXXX. End date : XX/XX/XXXX. Final Bill : XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX - Notification from XXXX to return the following equipment -Network Router : XXXX -Network Router : XXXX -Cable Modem : XXXX I followed link to a pre-paid shipping label at XXXX/XXXX to ship it back. I filled out the form, printed the label, it equipment into in a cardboard box and brought it to the mail carrier XXXX - Email notification from XXXX of {$80.00} balance XXXX - Contacted XXXX to inquire about equipment charge of {$80.00} dollars. I spoke with XXXX. Call reference number : # XXXX. I informed him that I had mailed back the equipment using their own XXXX label. He checked my account and stated eventually stated that : " I am able to see that your account balance Is {$0.00} '' XXXX {$80.00} charge appeared on my checking account. Contacted XXXX to dispute the charge, Spoke with XXXX ( Call reference # XXXX ) control # XXXX. He stated that : " Oh okay, I was able to confirm from the notes on XX/XX/XXXX that the {$80.00} charge was removed '' I informed him that I was charged anyway on my debit card. He stated : " What I am going to do is sent an equipment form so we can look Into this once we look into this we will remove the {$80.00} charge and you will have that chargeback to your card ''. I asked him what equipment it was and he reported that they are missing the XXXX brand Modem. I escalate to a supervisor, who was to call me back in 24-48 business hours - but I did not receive a call, and it was impossible to reach out to the same representative. XXXX - Called back and provided call reference numbers and asked to speak with a supervisor and was told I need to wait for a callback. Did not receive any missed calls during this time from unsaved numbers, and did not receive a voicemail or anything else that would indicate a callback was made. XXXX Disputed the {$80.00} with XXXX XXXX and had the charge removed because I returned the equipment already. XXXX - Email from XXXX saying I have a statement amount of {$100.00}. I attempt to login to view the statement but I am unable to retrieve the account login without the account number on my statement. I tried to call the customer service number and hung up after an excessive wait length and I had already disputed the amount with my bank, so I gave up in frustration. XXXX The statement amount becomes {$120.00} at some point XXXX FICO score of XXXX. I'm usually somewhere between the score of XXXX XXXX - FICO score drops to XXXX XXXX - I request a copy of my credit report and found a Derogatory Remark from Collections from Optimum. XXXX - Filled dispute with XXXX XXXX Dispute completed - information updated but not resolved XXXX - Filing complaint with the Consumer Finance.

On XX/XX/XXXX I contacted XXXX XXXX of the Hudson Valley to set up a payment payment arrangement to pay off my debt of XXXX. The woman I spoke to did not offer me any type of negotiation for the payment arrangement. I offered to make a payment of half, XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX and the remaning half the following week. She stated she would put in a request to post date the payments for XX/XX/XXXX and XXXX. NOT what I had asked for, but I agreed. I also asked for some type of documentation stating I was agreeing to make these payments or an update to the credit bureau and she said that they do not send out docs or update until the payment is made in full.XXXX My family is now sick with XXXX so I had to take off a few days of work, so I was not able to make the payment for XX/XX/XXXX. I contacted CBHV XX/XX/XXXX and the man i spoke with earlier told me that I was confusing him when I informed him that I needed to cancel the payment for XX/XX/XXXX and set up a different and smaller payment arrangement. He at first said that I could do a {$XXXX} payment and gave me the dates that we could start that. The dates that we had agreed on was {$XXXX} on XX/XX/XXXX, {$XXXX} on XX/XX/XXXX and I would have agreed to {$XXXX} XXXX and I agreed and then as soon as I agreed he changed it up and said " Ok, so I'm going to put in that you'll pay XXXX XX/XX/XXXX and then again on XXXX ''. That is NOT what I said and when I confronted him about the change, he said that I initially spoke WITH him and he was insistent that I spoke WITH him on XX/XX/XXXX and why couldnt I agree with XXXX, because thats what we agreed upon when I spoke with you last friday. I took your money, I KNOW I spoke to you. XXXX not allowed to make a payment less than {$XXXX} so thats why you need to make the XXXX payment and you cant spread these payments out for longer than what it needs to. He also insisted that no communication will be sent out for the payment agreement or anything other paperwork stating I am in an agreement. He said that I would receive paperwork before the payment I set up ( i dont remember what date now ) within XXXX weeks and then was insistent on telling me today was Saturday and that I would receive the payment agreement paperowrk by the end of XX/XX/XXXX. He also stated that my credit report wouldnt be updated until the payment was made in full, not even a paid/ontime payment notice would be sent to the bureau. and the bureaus will be contacted in XXXX XXXX so now we're talking XXXX before my credit states this is paid off. XXXX are quick to add this to my credit report though.. I was honestly shocked that he would lie and change up the terms he had given me! In XXXX of XXXX XXXX XXXX ( at that time ) disconnected my internet access due to my bill being past due. In XXXX (? ) XXXX company changed it's name to XXXX. XXXX XXXX was contacted in XXXX with a request to send a prepaid shipping label in order to return their equipment for myself, my business, and my mother. This consisted of a basic cable modem and 2 advanced router modems. I personally put the equipment into the box, label applied, and package shipped from the XXXX drop-off location at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX PA XXXX XXXX Once items were disconnected, internet access would have been impossible even if access was available. XXXX is well aware of this. I was unaware that the company had changed names until approximately XXXX of XXXX. In XXXX of XXXX I finally received a bill from XXXX for the amount of {$690.00} I immediately contacted the company asking them to justify the amount. Initial person I spoke with informed me that service was disconnected in XXXX but subsequently reconnected. XXXX representative stated that since no phone call was received specifically requesting for our services to be terminated, they continued to bill for months after XXXX into XXXX. I informed representative that I would pay for outstanding month ( s )? up until XXXX, I would not pay for months after their equipment was returned. The phone call was ended without resolution. Approx. 2 weeks later I received another bill for {$570.00}. I contacted the company again twice finally speaking with a supervisor. The supervisor informed me that the bill was adjusted due to my prior phonecall the company assumed (? ) that I wanted the service terminated. Supervisor informed me that I was responsible for months of XX/XX/XXXX through XX/XX/XXXX and refused to even consider any negotiation. She claimed that since I was receiving $ XXXX. through the XXXX and XXXX XXXX program, they could not disconnect my service. The funds I was receiving through the program were transferred to XXXX ( my new ISP ) on XX/XX/XXXX. The supervisor also stated that the package containing our modems was never received until XXXX of XXXX. She claimed that the package only contained the 2 advanced modems but not the basic modem. A phone call made XX/XX/XXXX to XXXX confirmed that the package was delivered intact to XXXX XXXX ( at that time ) on XX/XX/XXXX. Also, assuming that only one modem was missing from the carton as XXXX claims, why would the thief decide to take the smallest, cheapest modem? XXXX has decided to forward collection of this debt to a collection agency. This is going to detrimentally affect my previously impeccable credit score and rating. DEMAND FOR DELETION OF MEDICAL DEBTS ON VARIOUS CREDIT REPORTS!!! As I have attached a mandate to all pertinent credit bureaus, XXXX, XXXX and XXXX XXXX respectively, the attached complaint is backed by legal statue of the Federal Trade Commission and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. The most destructive items that can take a person out of the credit business is medical debt. That problem has been growing for the past two decades. Collection agencies have been abusing consumer 's rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act for many years. Now we consumers have a chance to redeem ourselves. The medical area has now a new mandate that must be adhered to strictly. The criteria for this mandate is as follows : 1 ) A medical supplier, if owed for services rendered must submit to the consumer 's medical insurer. If there is an issue over payment, the medical issuer can not submit a fee invoice to any collection agency for a period of six months after the initial 30-day invoice period. 2 ) If the insurance does not pay the claim, or if the claim was partially paid, the medical issuer can submit the non-payment balance to a medical collection company. However, this collection agency must give a 180-day notice that if the matter is not resolved or settled within that 180-day timeline, then they can place the collection on any pertinent credit bureau, i.e. XXXX, XXXX and XXXX XXXX respectively. 3 ) In essence, American consumers now have approximately 210 days from service to payment before the medical industry can go back into the destructive mode they have used for years. Non adherence to these rules, no matter what medical collection agency are now subject to serious fines and/or sanctions for the violation of this Federal Trade Commission mandate. All credit bureaus have agreed to abide by the Federal Trade Commission/Consumer Financial Protection Bureau mandate. Accordingly, I demand the attached medical collection agency remove all aspects of a collection against me with all credit reporting agencies, mail to me a demand letter for payment or an offer of settlement. I will go back to my insurance carrier for an immediate review of all claims, and if the claim can not be 100 % satisfied by said insurer, then I will make the necessary payment arrangements in full or upon any agreed upon settlement. The credit reporting item nonetheless must be removed immediately and a new timeline 180-day count must begin on the date a demand letter is mailed to me at my residence.

On XX/XX/20 I received an alert through XXXX XXXX that there was a change to my XXXX credit report. I pulled my XXXX credit report on XX/XX/20. There was a collection from Collection Bureau of Hudson Valley Inc, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, NY XXXX, stating the original creditor is XXXX. Prior to the credit alert from XXXX XXXX and prior to the discovery of this fraudulent account with Collection Bureau Hudson Valley ( CBHV ), I did not receive any correspondence from CBHV advising me of my statutory rights prescribed by the FDCPA. Specifically, CBHV deprived me of any and all rights under 809 of the FDCPA. As prescribed by the FDCPA, I am entitled to, at minimum, 3 basic & separate components : ( 1 ) Right to notice of the alleged debt, ( 2 ) Right to contest the alleged debt, ( 3 ) Right to verify the alleged debt. CBHV 's act of furnishing ( derogatory ) information to Equifax, without the required notifications and in compliance prescribed by 809 of the FDCPA, not only violates the FDCPA but violates various sections of the FCRA. Prior to reporting this fraudulent debt to my XXXX credit file, CBHV had ample time to notify me under the requirements of the FDCPA. CBHV acquired my location information through XXXX on XX/XX/20 via the inquiry listed on my XXXX Credit Report. The derogatory, fraudulent, and inaccurate information that was provided to XXXX on XX/XX/20 states that CBHV was assigned this file on XX/XX/20. In addition, the derogatory information from CBHV that was placed on my credit report was a result of identity theft. Therefore, as an identity theft victim, and all the rights afforded to me, I sent Equifax a XXXX letter requiring them to block this fraudulent information within 4 days of receipt. Furthermore, on XX/XX/20 CBHV was in receipt of correspondence from me dated XX/XX/20, that the derogatory information they supplied to my XXXX credit report is the result of identity theft. On XX/XX/20 I received a letter from CBHV that was addressed to my current address. CBHV addressed the letter to me in response to my ID theft letter, but they addressed the letter to me as " XXXX XXXX '' Please note, the name " XXXX XXXX '' is NOT a name variation that I use. I feel that CBHV knowingly, willfully, and intentially engaged in prohibited conduct by attempting to collect an alleged and fraudulent debt by reporting a derogatory account to Equifax, without first sending any required statutory notices or correspondence, required by 809 of the FDCPA.

In XX/XX/XXXX, I ask for validation and deletion during this validation as I never received a XXXX day notice of collection before submitting it to credit bureaus under FCRA. They apparently sent a letter to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX. I had been living in XXXX for over a year at this point and my current address as that time and now was on my credit file in XX/XX/XXXX. Collection Bureau of Hudson Valley pulled an XXXX Credit report on XX/XX/XXXX to obtain information such as my address. They failed to send a XXXX day notice of collection activity to me at my current address on file on XXXX XX/XX/XXXX so I could validate the debt and pay it if it was a true debt before it got reported to my credit bureaus. I notified them in writing of validation after finding it on my credit file XX/XX/XXXX asking them to delete the collection action from my credit file and allow me to validate the debt as well as pay it if it was legitimate. They stated they validated the debt but I still never received this validation and they continued to report it to the credit bureaus after acknowledging they sent the XXXX day notice letter to the wrong address. I was never given a chance to validate and/or pay this debt if legitimate without a XXXX day letter, which they did not provide. It is still be reported on my credit bureaus and they refuse to delete until debt can be validated. According to the FCRA, a debt must be reported at last reported payment delinquency since it falls off credit file 7 years from that date, however Collection Bureau is violating my federal rights and the law by not providing me a XXXX day notice of collection activity before reporting it to the credit bureaus and they are violating the law by stating the delinquency is the date they received it in XXXX, not the last reported payment to XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX. I would like to have the item deleted from my credit file and a given a proper XXXX day notice to validate the debt so that I may pay it if the debt is legitimate.

After finding out that XXXX had been charging me for cable for almost two years I went into the XXXX store on XXXX XXXX to dispute the bill on more than one occasion. After speaking to a representative there they took a closer look into my account and saw where I had turned in the boxes in XXXX. However, they showed me that someone employed by XXXX had turned the cable service back on without my permission or authority to do so. As time went by I began to get calls from the attorney representing XXXX on or around XX/XX/2022. I told the attorney that I hadn't had cable for close to two years. He began to read to me that he seen where I terminated the service but it was resumed. I told him I never ask for cable because I have XXXX XXXX on all the T.V. 's in my apartment. So he had to further look into the descrepancy and we were in constant contact with each other via telephone. In XX/XX/2022 he and I had our last conversation but I had already decided to take XXXX to court for breach of contract. XXXX obviously decided to give the account to a collection agency after being served with court documentation for the suit. Now this collection agency Collection Bureau Hudson Valley took the account on or around XX/XX/2022. After checking my credit with XXXX I noticed they appeared on my credit report. I immediately sent court documentation in which XXXX and I were to appear in XXXX on XX/XX/2022, where the case was dismissed in my favor. Therefore, after reviewing my credit report on XXXX I disputed this on my credit report because the case was dismissed in its entirety and closed. I sent court documentation to XXXX to dispute this collection agency being owed any money from me at all. Now, this collection agency refuses to remove the collection from my credit report and the courts never stated to me that I owe any money to any other entity connected with XXXX at all. Therefore, if anyone owes any money to Collection Bureau Hudson Valley it's XXXX who gave them the account after being served to appear in court for " breach of contract ''. I want the collection agency to remove this negative status from my credit report immediately. Any money they believe they are owed should be billed to XXXX. hello, back on XX/XX/XXXX, I ran a credit check on my credit score and realized that a credit agency had placed a collection on my credit for XXXX The following days I called the collection agency, Collection Bureau Hudson Valley , Inc, and inquired on the charge which they stayed it was from a past-due bill from XXXX that was for XXXX for equipment and XXXX for past due service. I asked the agent to provide me with a bill explaining the charges, to which the agent replied " you would have to call XXXX and request the bill from them ''. I called XXXX and requested the bill which they stated the bill could not be provided to me because it was an old bill and to request from the collection agency because they have a record of it. On XX/XX/XXXX, I went to XXXX and returned the equipment, and requested from them the bill that determined I owed them XXXX. The agent had a difficult time coming to the final calculation but provided me with the XXXX last bill statements that showed a final balance of XXXX as of XX/XX/XXXX. The bill for XX/XX/XXXX, showed XXXX, and the bill for XX/XX/XXXX, showed XXXX. The agent said the equipment was for XXXX which was cleared because I was returning the equipment which brought me back to the XXXX. I asked how did the bill get to XXXX, which she stated she was not sure and believed I got a credit. I left XXXX without a clear understanding of how I still owed XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a notification from XXXX XXXX saying my credit went up and that the collection agency had taken out the collection. I called the collection agency for proof of the bill being wiped out, and they stated that it was not wiped out but instead sent back to XXXX. I called XXXX and asked for proof of the bill again, and they stated that I still owe the XXXX which I asked for an explanation of XXXX which I was on phone for about an hour and at the end of the call lady, was not able to explain the XXXX just saying I received a credit for something that she didn't understand the code of. I asked for a bill showing the final XXXX and she said she could not provide me with a bill because the bill is too old. For the winter of XXXX, I purchased my home heating oil from XXXX. I was on a monthly billing payment of {$290.00} I terminated my business with them in the spring of XXXX ; at that time I was credited back {$290.00} for an automatic payment that had already been made. Shortly thereafter, I received a bill from XXXX indicating that I had a balance of {$290.00}. I contacted XXXX and indicated that I did not believe that I owed them any money, and requested that they send me a detailed accout of my purchases and payments for the XXXX season ; this information was never received. Within approximately two ( 2 ) weeks, I recieved a demand for payment, in the amount of {$290.00}, plus an {$88.00} fee, from the collection bureau of the hudson valley. I again contacted XXXX in XXXX and again requested a detailed accounting ; again I did not receive anything. I then received, from the collection bureau of the hudson valley ( cbhv ), a demand for payment in the amount of {$680.00}! I spoke with XXXX at CBHV, indicated the discrepency between the alleged amount due from XXXX and the {$680.00}, and I again asked for a detailed accounting of my account. I received from XXXX a listing of payments, credits and oil deliveries for XXXX only ; I did not receive an accounting for the entire heating season. I contacted XXXX and indicated that what was sent to me from XXXX was incomplete. In addition, while still disputing the amount of {$290.00} that XXXX originally billed me, I asked him to explain why a final demand of payment from XXXX of {$290.00} was now {$680.00} ; XXXX could not explain this discrepency. I informed XXXX that I was again requesting a detailed accounting of my account with XXXX from XX/XX/XXXX through the end of my relationship with XXXX in the spring of XXXX. I further informed XXXX that if I did not receive such information within two ( 2 ) weeks, I would pursue my complaint. To summarize, I am disputing any amount due to XXXX, whether {$290.00} or {$680.00} until such time that I receive adequate documentation that I in fact owe any money. Just recently, upon checking my credit reports, I found thatXX/XX/XXXXhas yet again placed a fraudulent collections account on my record under both names XX/XX/XXXXand Collection Bureau of the Hudson Valley. ( same account XXXX Original complaint number XXXX. - Submitted to the CFPB on XX/XX/XXXX I originally submitted a complaint on XX/XX/XXXX regarding this same exact account, ( complaint number above ) at that time XXXX had a company called XXXX XXXX XXXX reach out to me regarding this collections. As stated in my previous complaint regarding this company ( complaint # XXXX XXXX " I called and spoke with customer service on XX/XX/XXXX and was told in order to prove my identity and have the collections removed, i would need to submit proof of my address during the month of XX/XX/XXXX. The same day I spoke with the representative in the collections department at XX/XX/XXXX I submitted the proof via the email I was given, i submitted my ID, along with my bank statement and my auto loan statements, although that was not required. " I called the morning of XX/XX/XXXX and spoke with a customer service rep in the same collections department who confirmed that the information had been received. THIS NEEDS TO BE REMOVED NOW! THE DEBT DOES NOT BELONG TO ME AND THAT HAS BEEN PROVEN After submitting my initial complaint on XX/XX/XXXX, I got a response from XXXX XXXX XXXX stating that had reached out to optimum and were unsuccessful at getting any Information regarding the account therefore they were ceasing all collection activity and the account was removed, as it should've. The original complaint was submitted back on XX/XX/XXXX when XXXX tried to bill me for equipment that was returned on XX/XX/XXXX and the case was closed by CFPB and the collection agency, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, then. The original case number was XXXX. This has turned into predatory practices. The details, dates, amounts, etc related to the case are as follows : I placed an order to terminate service on XX/XX/XXXX. We sold our house and our closing date was XX/XX/XXXX. Unfortunately, the cable company equipment was packed by the movers, but I called the cable company to let them know that I would return the equipment as soon as our goods were delivered to the new house. This was done on XXXX. I boxed everything up and they received it all on XX/XX/XXXX. The XXXX tracking number of the shipping label the company sent me was xxxx xxxx xxxx. The monthly bill was usually due on the XXXX of each month and was typically {$200.00}. I would see being responsible for the difference covering the XXXX through the XXXX of XXXX, but no more. A couple of days ago I received a collection letter for {$300.00} from XXXX for supposed equipment charges. This is incorrect and should be made right by the company immediately. I have made 10-15 attempts to speak with someone at the company without success. I even spoke with the collections agency, who has no historical background on the debt, and they gave me another number to call. No luck either. Important Dates : XX/XX/XXXX - new statement for {$200.00} XX/XX/XXXX - new statement for {$740.00}, which included a new charge of {$530.00} for equipment. In the same statement they show a credit of ( - {$190.00} ) for partial monthly activity. XX/XX/XXXX - new ( and last statement ) for {$300.00}, which shows a credit of ( - {$440.00} ) as equipment credit. As you can see the math does not add up. Also, they never called my cell phone, which the account was under and I still have of course. Lastly, I have all the statements and receipts referenced above. Any assistance is more than welcome. In lateXX/XX/XXXXwe received a call from a collection agency regarding a debt with XXXX XXXX. I agreed to pay what I was certain was owed, but XXXX was alleging that we had equipment that had not been returned and that we owed for a month of service that we did not use and had asked them to disconnect our service. I submitted a written dispute to said collection agency outlining my issues with the alleged debt. The collection agency sent a letter within 30 days saying they had investigated the issue and were closing their file. I did not retain that letter, as I assumed this was the last I 'd hear of it. Today ( XX/XX/XXXX ), another collection agency ( Collection Bureau of the Hudson Valley ) contacted my husband regarding this same debt with XXXX. My husband 's name and phone number were NEVER on the account with XXXX. They discussed the account with my husband and again, they alleged to him that we owed a balance and still had equipment that was the property of XXXX. I then contacted Collection Bureau of the Hudson Valley and relayed my previous interaction with the first collection agency. They suggested I contact XXXX directly to have them close my account, as they could n't contact XXXX to discuss my account. I contacted XXXX and requested they close my account, and they confirmed that we did not have any of their equipment, and still attempted to collect funds even after I told them I had already disputed the debt. They claimed they had no information on a dispute from the first collection agency, to which I suggested they contact their contracted agency to obtain that information. I believe continuing to attempt to collect this debt after a valid, investigated dispute is in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. I also believe contacting my husband - who was NOT listed on the account with XXXX - and discussing the alleged debt with him is also in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. I 'd like this type of harassment and violations to STOP.

After I relocated, XXXX XXXX contended I owed them a final bill, and sold the debt to Collection Bureau of Hudson Valley. I was never sent a final bill by XXXX or XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX attempted to collect the debt which was sold to them by XXXX. They called my mobile phone repeatedly, and refused to furnish proof of the debt when asked multiple times. Instead of providing evidence or documentation, they pressed me for my checking account information so they could perform an ACH withdrawal to cover amount of the debt. They recently obtained my home phone number and repeatedly called me even after I requested they cease calling me because they would not provide any documented proof of the debt. Representatives of this company would not send me any documentation including a bill, letter, or payment coupon. At this point, the only way I knew the amount of the debt was when it was reported it to the credit bureau - they still however failed to provide sufficient evidence to prove I was accountable for the debt. They have since caused my credit score to drop, and I was denied an education loan because the " delinquency '' was too recent. I called XXXX, and the manager was unable to disclose details and further discuss the matter as they explained the debt was being handled by an external agency. They also could not furnish proof that the debt was still owed. I was advised to call the Collection Bureau of Hudson Valley, and once again they wanted to access to my checking account without furnishing prof of an actual debt. In late XXXX 2017, I filed a dispute with the credit bureau to resolve or at least obtain documented proof of the debt, and I was advised by XXXX that the debt was valid and could not be disputed, once again no actual documentation was furnished. I asked for documented proof of the debt so that I could confirm it was my debt, and once confirmed to pay the debt. This has been ongoing for 7 months. Can someone assist?

I had their internet service a total of 5 days, at the time of installation, the tech only installed internet service, I subscribe for TV service as well, the tech told me he didn't have the boxes for tv service. I then called XXXX XXXX XXXX and they were out 2 days later to install my internet service, that same day I called XXXX and canceled my internet service and canceled the TV service install, I shipped back the internet modem and wifi extender to their corporate office. I then contacted XXXX several more times because in the system it showed I still had TV service, I asked them about this and they said the bill would be corrected with the 1st bill. When I got the bill it was still showing {$120.00}, I think called XXXX back and they kept telling me they could not help me because I was disconnected for non-pay, I explained to them I couldn't be disconnected for non-pay because I canceled the service 5 days after, only the internet was installed. A supervisor called me back and I went over me only having internet service install and that the TV service was never installed, as well as if I had had TV service installed there should be Serial numbers of the boxes in their system, which they do not have in their system, yet I'll say this once again I've never had their TV service. I have never received a corrected bull which XXXX said I would get, instead I get the collection notice from cfpb. I will not pay for something I never received, all of my interaction should be recored in the notes and on a recored line with XXXX. If anything I own for at best a month of internet service which should be anymore then {$30.00} or {$40.00}.

While awaiting the results of the XXXX appeal, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX sent my father a letter threatening to take him to court. XXXX informed us in a letter XX/XX/XXXX, that not only were they denying the appeal, but they reversed their earlier decision and my father is now liable for the charges. I had no idea that the appeal could result in a worse decision, although I am quite certain that XXXX XXXX, as a collections professional, did. XXXX says we should not have filed the XXXX appeal and that our only option is to either pay or go before an administrative law judge. On X/X/17 I filed a complaint against the Collection Bureau of the Hudson Valley for failing to provide adequate verification of a debt. The company 's response was that they would provide this information. As expected, I have not received any mail from this agency - yet this unpaid bill sits on my credit. Below is their previous response - " X/XX/17 We mailed this consumer letters on XX/XX/17 and XX/XX/17. On XX/XX/17, a collector asked to verify the consumers current address. The consumer stated the address we had on file was a previous address but the consumer did not want to update her new address because her mail was being forwarded. I updated the address on this account to match the address listed in this complaint and have requested a copy of the itemized bill from our client. Once this information is received we will mail a copy to the consumer at the address listed on this complaint. We will cease all phone calls to the consumer regarding this account as per the consumers request in this complaint. This account is being reported to the credit bureaus as disputed. '' As I have not received the bill from the original creditor, or have I received a bill from CBHV, this remains an outstanding issue that will remain in dispute. The only change is CBHV is not calling me, but this company is allowing me no recourse or remedy in resolving this issue. Reminder, I also contacted XXXX and spoke with a supervisor. This person advised they could not provide any information because the issue was being handled by CBHV. This person referred me back to the agency. I have contacted the CFPB on the same attempt from another collectiron agency and at that time you were able to resolve the issue and you closed your case as the XXXX agree to remove the item from my credit report. Today, XX/XX/21 I received the request for the same amount {$230.00} purportedly from another collection agency. I immediately contacted the agency the same day first spoke to XXXX XXXX that abruptly closed the phone call as soon as she found out I was calling to dispute the amount being requested. I called back and this time a certain XXXX answered my call I told him the the correct amount should be {$79.00} not {$230.00}, XXXX did not even made an attempt to understand my request immediately forcefully requested that I pay the full amount. Stating ; " THIS AMOUNT IS ALREADY UNDER COLLECTION IN XXXX CREDIT REPORT ''. I drew his attention to to their letter that states : Unless you notify this office within 30 days after receiving this notice that you disputed the validity of this debt, or any portion thereof, this office will assume this debt is valid ''. It is clear that this agency does not even make an attempt to get feed back from the consumer prior to proceeding to report a debt on the credit report. My XXXX XXXX went down from XXXX to XXXX and I assume it will go down ever further once all agencies capture this collection attempt. You can see how much damage these agencies can cause to a consumer. Obviously these type of entities, that engage in debt collection, despite the efforts of the CFPB continue, without any controls, to engage in very Unfair Deceptive Acts and Practices. On XX/XX/2020 I mailed off a " Request for Validation, Not Verification '' letter to " Collection Bureau Hudson Valley '' ( CBHV ). The company received my letter on XX/XX/2020 and someone from the company signed for it. With my letter I provided my name, address, and account number to help the company look up my account. Also, within the letter I was giving the company 30 days to provide me proof. I know that the debt collector has 30 days to respond to the debt validation. What I was asking for is proof that I actually owe the debt. As well as proof that they have the legal right to collect the debt. They must also prove that they are licensed to collect debts in my state. Also, they need to provide the original contract I signed with the original creditor, or at least credit card receipts that I signed. Within the 30 days I did receive a response from CBHV but it was just a billing statement, nothing that I asked for in my first letter to them. I responded back with another letter asking them again to validate my debt under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. They did not meet the Federal Trade Commissions guidelines of what constitutes proper debt validation. The documentation CBHV provided in no way provides sufficient verification of the debt. I was expecting to hear back from CBHV to have this account removed from my credit report but I haven't heard anything back. I notice that you are still reporting this collection on my credit report, which is considered to be a collection activity. You are now in violation of the FCPDA, and are now subject to fines of {$1000.00}, plus actual damages and attorneys fees, which I may collect from you by filing a claim in small claims court.

I switched from XXXX to XXXX on XXXX XXXX, XXXX. I called XXXX the same day to cut off services and asked for a final bill. I called again on the XXXX XXXX and XXXX billing agent ( XXXX ) reviewed my account, told me that everything was in order, my final payment of {$33.00} was received and that I owed XXXX nothing. i recently applied for a mortgage but there were two outstanding credit collection items both related an accident. I was forced to use XXXX on three different occasions. On one trip, I was forced to take the even though it was only a 5 minute ride to another campus of the hospital and I had someone there to drive me. On XX/XX/2020, I received a notice from the Collection Bureau of the Hudson Valley , Inc. ( " CBHV '' ) attempting to collect debt of {$1200.00} from " XXXX XXXX, '' on behalf of creditor XXXX, which, based on an internet search, appears to be a telecoms company based in the New York Tri-State area. I, obviously, am not " XXXX XXXX '' ; I have never lived in the New York Tri-State area ; and I have never engaged in any transaction with XXXX. CBHV is attempting to collect a debt from me which is not mine. Upon receipt of the notice from CBHV on XX/XX/XXXX, I immediately mailed CBHV a letter stating that the debt does not belong to me, and demanding that they provide any supporting documentation supporting their claim or else cease their collections effort. I mailed that letter on XX/XX/2020 to the address listed in the notice I received ( XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX NY XXXX ). Admittedly, I made the mistake of mailing it through USPS standard mail instead of certified mail. Despite multiple conversations with a member of Collection Bureau of Hudson Valley Inc. in the early months of the year, I have spoken to a representative within the Collection Bureau of Hudson Valley Inc. twice in which I claimed and informed them of my disassociation with the account and implied/explained that my name was being fraudulently used for the services in which they are representing. I am a victim of identity theft. An identity thief used my personal information without my permission to make the following charges for XXXX XXXX. Despite my claim of disassociation from the account and the fraud lock and alert on my credit report for nearly a year, the collection agency reported a fraudulent account to the credit bureaus, severely damaging my credit reputation across all bureaus except XXXX, which promptly and efficiently removed the false collection account from my credit. Because there is a fraudulent lock and report on all of my credit reports, and they have completely ignored all of the risks associated with reporting false information and failing to respond to any requests for verification of the collection amount/service used, the Hudson Valley Inc. Collection Bureau is clearly inadequate and incompetent in its investigative process.

I did not give them consent to contact me and in fact I sent them notice to cease all communication with me in XX/XX/2021 in regards to an alleged debt. They are committing mail fraud by not putting the required notice on the mail that they sent to my location information through the United States Post Office. They are using language and symbols in the mail contents that they sent to me through the US postal services that indicates that they are attempting to collect a debt. They are engaging in conduct that is harassing and abusive by using obscene and profane language in the billing notice that they sent me. They are falsely and misleading the amount as to which this alleged debt is because it is a positive balance and a consumer can not pay on a positive balance which is also a billing error. They did not send me written notice within the first 5 days of initial communication with me containing the ( 5 ) notice of debt contents thats required under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 USC 1692g.

I cancelled my service with XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX about 2 years ago. I paid my bill in full and returned the equipment. I have an email confirming that the equipment was returned. Then a few months later I began getting a bill from them for {$110.00}. I called the company to ask what the bill was for and they were vague about what it was for, final payment or equipment..I told them I'd paid my past bill in full and returned the equipment and asked for copies of my last 3 months. They had stopped my online access so I could not access my bills myself. The said they could not send me those bills. I refused to pay them for something that I did not know what it was for as I very clearly had paid my bill in full and returned the equipment. Then 2 months ago they put the invoice in for collection with Collection Bureau Hudson Valley, XXXX XXXX XXXX CBHV asked me to either pay the debt or send them documentation why it is not owed. I sent them a copy of the email showing that the equipment had been returned, since that is the only thing I could be getting billed for. Instead of accepting that, asking the XXXX for more proof that I in fact owe them any money, they simply put the {$110.00} in for collection, killing my credit which as perfect payment record with not a single late or missed payment.

I've called cable vision around XX/XX/XXXX or XX/XX/XXXX during the week, to fix my slow internet issue. I settled an appointment for a saturday, which I thought was kind of odd to wait even longer to have the problem solved, since I've been paying the right amount of money for the none provided internet speed. I remember speaking to my husband about the cable mechanic guy who never arrived that saturday to my home. I called once again on XX/XX/XXXX to dispute the charged of {$80.00} dollars to my account, for a service they didn't provide to fixed that problem. I tried to reason with many members of cable vision to waive the fee, but they only said : " we have three phone numbers associated with the account, and called leaving a voice mail, the cable guy knock at the door and noone was home. '' Well, firstable I only have one cell phone number associated with optimun, which have no voice mail from optimum, also checked my online cell phone bill, to make sure of the existence of this voice mail. ooops ... nothing there ither.!!! second thing is I'm the one who's badly needed the problem to be solved in the first place, why wouldn't I opened the door.? The original creditor of the account is XXXX. the address of this company is XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, NY XXXX and the phone number XXXX XXXX XXXX The partial account number is XXXX and the address identification number is XXXX in the amount of {$320.00} In 2016, I was homeless and sought refuge in a rooming house with others. Because of my hardship I lived very primitive. On several occasions my room would be ransacked and obviously entered without my knowledge. Therefore, many valuables were stolen. Early this year I began to get harassing phone calls from the aforementioned company informing me of a debt that I had NO KNOWLEDGE of. For over the past XXXX months we have received continued harrassing calls from Collection Bureau of the Hudson Valley sks CBHV ( phone number XXXX ) asking for someone who has NEVER lived here ( we are the XXXX owners and know the previous owners ). I asked them to remove my phone number over and over ( XXXX times ) and they state that they will, but we continue to get calls. We did again today and I informed that I would report them to the New York Attorney General 's Office. They stated " You go right ahead and see what happens to you. '' I replied " I consider that a threat on my life. '' They said " You can take it however you want. '' I called the N.Y. Attorney General 's office and was appalled. They stated " We do n't care what collection agencies do in our state and we have no oversight to them. '' I was totally taken off guard. When I attempted to XXXX the company to go to their website, the New York Attorney General 's name came up. It is obvious that he/she is somehow connected ed with this company and is attempting to coverup their scamming consumers instead of being concerned for consumers. To whom it may concern, I have a XXXX XXXX account that's charged off on my report that doesn't belong to me. I have no knowledge of the account and when I ask them to prove to me that it's my account, they're unable to but yet they still won't delete it from my report. On XX/XX/2022, I received a phone call from a company titled Collection Bureau of Hudson Valley , IncXXXX She collection agent, a female, informed me she was with a collection agency, and I owed a debt for XXXX dollars from a XXXX XXXX XXXX I told her I owe no debt, the XXXX XXXX was properly closed by me, all equipment was returned within the allotted 30 days, and final payment was made. I also requested they communicate by mail, so I would have their address and could forward the final XXXX receipts. The collection agent refused, said we rather put this on your credit report. I informed her that I do not owe the debt, and have receipts. She became belligerent, and after the phone call, the next day they sent the information to the credit bureaus. I also asked her not to call by phone any longer, and to send me correspondence by mail In a continued attempt to get their address again. Instead, I have received no correspondence and was called again on XX/XX/2022, twice. At this time, I have forwarded the receipts for the contested accounts to the 3 credit bureaus with an explanation. I received a bill from XXXX in the amount of {$130.00}. I instructed XXXX to discontinue my service on XX/XX/XXXX, turned in their equipment to XXXX two days later, and had already paid the bill for the month of XXXX in advance. XXXX decided to discontinue my service XX/XX/XXXX, nearly a month later, then sent me the bill for their failure to discontinue the service on the date I requested. I responded to XXXX XXXX in writing with a sequence of events between myself and XXXX explaining why I didn't owe them anything and enclosed a copy of the letter I sent to XXXX. A few weeks later, XXXX XXXX sent me a notice on their decision to stop collection efforts and I figured that was the end of it. I never received notice or mail or phone call that there was a remaining balance past the time the meter was to be cut off and I had moved. XXXX, a cable and internet provider, had supplied service to my prior residence located at XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX. I moved on XX/XX/2022. I terminated service on XX/XX/2022 and all equipment was surrendered. Enclosed is a copy of the receipt they provided which specifically acknowledges that all services were terminated and all equipment was surrendered. I have a workers compensation case that I haven't had to pay any medical bills for in the last year except I keep getting harassed by XXXX XXXX XXXX and emergency for bills I have tried to resolve from the very beginning XX/XX/XXXX is when i used their services. XX/XX/2020 cable box failed. XX/XX/2020 phone service only allowed outgoing calls. Repeated phone calls to address problems were dealt with hang-ups. Asked for technical assistance resulted in hang-ups. Ask to remove services, denied, could only upgrade or purchase pay-for-view. Ask to speak to supervisor or manager ended abruptly with hang-up. Asked to cancel all my services, no one had the authority to do so and ended with hang-up. Was told I could cancel services through website, that was incorrect. Website said would have to talk with customer representative and gave a phone number to call. That always ended with a quick hang-up. I had a months credit paid and no way to cancel service or fix services. They used up credit and continue to charge for services I didn't receive. Now they want defective cable box so I can't prove that I was without tv services but I have refused to return till issues are resolved. A registered letter with self return signature requested explaining problems and request to be reimbursed for the {$150.00} credit now has resulted in a collection agency threatening legal action unless debt of $ XXXX is paid in full.

Two debt collection agencies XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, NY XXXX ) and Collection Bureau Hudson ValleXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, NY XXXX ) keep putting repeated derogatory information for the same accounts on my credit report that is not mine. I have disputed them multiple times through the credit agencies and had them removed but they keep putting them back on my credit report every year. They told me I had to provide multiple pieces of personal information including photocopies of my driver 's license, my social security card, a W2 showing my address which I am not comfortable providing ( nor should I have to ) a private company to resolve an issue such as this. I am a victim of identity theft, and have had an extended fraud alert placed on all three credit reporting agencies since XXXX2016. XXXX allowed someone to illegally use my personal financial information to open an account in XXXX, New York. If XXXX had done their due diligence when opening this account, they would have been notified of the extended fraud alerts in place, and stopped this identity theft from occurring. I am a resident of Texas, and the attempt to get service from XXXX in New York should have been easily detectable as fraud. In addition to having a sub-standard credit approval process in place when creating the fraudulent account, XXXX had the Collection Bureau of Hudson Valley place a collection on my credit file. This has cost me hours of time to correct, and I believe XXXX should be required to compensate me for all lost time during this process and for any damage done to my credit rating as the result of their poor business practices.

I contacted XXXX ( XXXX XXXX ) in early XX/XX/XXXX to cancel my account. XXXX informed me I could cancel any time prior to XX/XX/XXXX ( the end date of the current cycle ) by returning all equipment. However, XXXX subsequently charged my credit card on XX/XX/XXXX, over one month after cancelation. I am being charged for college tuition from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, collection agency Hudson Valley. They are claiming on my credit report that I owe a total of {$3600.00} from two accounts ( {$2700.00} and {$860.00} ). I asked the collection agency to send me paperwork regarding these charges, which I did on XX/XX/2021. The bills from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX I received from Hudson Valley Collections shows one amount ( {$750.00} ) paid for by financial aid with a differnce of {$250.00}, and the oher amount of {$2400.00}, not matching any of the amounts reported on my credit report. On XX/XX/2021, I sent Collection Bureau Hudson Valley a debt validation letter in regards to an XXXX bill that they claim I allegedly owe. I received a notice from CBHV ( Collection Bureau of the Hudson Valley ) on XX/XX/18 that I owed {$120.00} to a medical provider. That notice said " If you notify this office in writing within 30 days from receiving this notice that you dispute the validity of this debt, or any portion thereof, this office will obtain verification of the debt or obtain a copy of the judgment and mail you a copy ''. I received a letter from the Collection Bureau of Hudson Valley in late XX/XX/XXXX regarding a debt from services rendered at the Hospital from XXXX ( XXXX ) in XX/XX/XXXX. The listed creditor is XXXX which advertised a scam service in my area offering internet and TV services they could not provide. They offered 30 free service at no charge or installation fee and cancellation at any time. I cancelled the service after 2 days because it was not what was advertised and did not work at all. Shortly after having imaging the Insurance requested more information. The requested documentation was sent in a timely manner. I noticed this debt appeared on my credit report in around XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/2017 when I had a credit report ran. This is for a Cable company called XXXX who made it nearly impossible to cancel. I went to a doctor on a referral from my primary doctor. The referral was issued so it could be billed to health insurance. The doctors office did not submit in a timely manner so it was rejected.
