On Sunday XX/XX/XXXX, I was served with a Court Summons for a debt I was not notified of previously and therefore unaware of. The following day, I called the debt collector listed in the suit ( Collection Bureau Inc of XXXX Idaho ) to gather information about the debt and was met with such hostility it was not possible to obtain the information I needed, let alone am entitled to per the FDCPA on the first call. On the second call, I demanded a supervisor, to which I was told, " There are no supervisors here '', after arguing with the rep she eventually transferred me to a " Lead '' who was acting in the capacity of a supervisor, who to her credit was very helpful ( to the extent she could be ) and patient, however, it was during this call that they revealed they had multiple instances of inaccurate and possibly falsified information on record. Since this summons and debt was a surprise to me, I was curious how they previously attempted to contact me. I asked them if there were any phone calls made, they had two on record, both to my wife 's cell phone ( a number I would not have provided the company who referred the debt to collections, or the collection agency, or anyone else for that matter ) during a time I was at work three cities away, this is key to illustrating how they falsified information by borrowing notes from another account and applying them to mine in order to appear they notified me per the FDCPA. They claim to have spoken with me directly during one call on XX/XX/XXXX and according to them I even validated my identity, which simply would not have been possible as I have verifiable proof I was not present to do this. As it turns out, according to their notes, during that call, where they claimed to have made contact with me and notified me of such debt ( again fabricated statement on their part ), my wife told them she was sending a check for {$490.00} which is not even the amount on the account they are pursuing me for. After investigating further, it turns out this was actually a note belonging to a different account which my wife had with this collections agency previously but had paid and closed out. The notes were from a call where CBI called her to discuss that account directly, not the debt they are attempting to sue me over currently, ( I'm not entirely sure they were even legally allowed to do so even if they did attempt to discuss my HIPPA regulated medical debt with her ), however that is not the root of the complaint. During this call she did indeed acknowledge that a check was on it's way for the full amount to close out her account with this company which was the {$490.00}, which indeed this company did receive and apply towards her account. The matter of their other call on record is simple, they called her on her cell phone, not me or the number I provide for any billing of my own, the rep did not identify which debt/account they were calling for where she explained the check had already been sent and cashed and they needed to stop harassing her about a closed debt, she was recovering from XXXX at the time and ended the call on the representative without further discussion ( even though they claim to have verified something with her that is public record, our marriage date of all strange things to note, somehow this proves a real conversation ever actually took place ). It is clear she was under the impression they were calling about her debt as 1 ) this was the only debt we were aware of, 2 ) I would not have provided her number on any of my own bills, it would have been my own which has not changed in over three years ( this debt is not that old ), and 3 ) because the representative did not identify the account it was assumed they were calling regarding an already paid debt they had already spoken with her about in the previous month. After multiple other calls, I finally got a rep to agree to send me a debt statement, but this certainly was not the easy FDCPA request I was entitled to, they wanted to argue anything they could getting themselves so riled up they wind up yelling at me and disconnecting the call blaming me for escalating it. During two other calls I made to CBI to gather information, I attempted to negotiate a settlement to pay the full original debt plus interest in order to keep this out of court but I am unwilling to pay legal fees which should never have racked up if this company followed consumer regulations appropriately and responsibly. They were unwilling to budge on these fees which is unacceptable because again, their actions led to these fees in the first place, adding to the fact that they are trying to cover their tracks by using notes from an unrelated account in my account in order to make it appear they notified me sufficiently. I maintained during these conversations that had I been aware of the original bill, it would have been paid, therefor that is what I am willing to pay. This company intentionally made getting information I ( the consumer ) is entitled to obtain difficult, and appear to have falsified their documented attempts to notify me of such debt which nullifies any trust I could possibly have that they ever intended to actually contact me or have attempted to notify me in a manner that could have prevented further interest and their legal fees which from my understanding are incurred by their own in-house lawyers which seems to border on Racketeering.

I received a court notice of judgement and default stating that I had been sued for a debt on XX/XX/2020 from the office of XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX, Attorneys at Law on behalf of Collection Bureau , Inc. I received no prior notices of the lawsuit and the court papers do not state what the debts are owed for. They entered a judgement against me for {$880.00} plus attorneys fees of {$400.00}, {$200.00} in other costs for a total of {$1400.00} for failing to respond to the lawsuit which I never received notice for. They served my court papers to a person not related to me and who I do not know and had them sign for me ( if it was required for the person receiving the papers to do so ). I furthermore do not live at the address they had served to and have not lived there in six months. This is a violation of my privacy as the person receiving my mail and court papers did not have the legal right to do so and it potentially gave them access to my personal information that they were not legally entitled to because the papers contained the court case number which the person could have looked up. Luckily, the person who received the mail did the right thing and forwarded it to the post office who then forwarded this first notice of the lawsuit to my current address ( I have had trouble with the post office properly forwarding my mail to me since XXXX and I have called the post office several times to try to resolve the issue ). Therefore, the attorneys for Collection Bureau , Inc. falsely certified to the XXXX County Court Clerk that they had served me with the court papers when they in fact had not. Therefore, I had a judgment entered against me for debt I was unaware of and am not sure is valid because I failed to respond to a court notice that I never received. I have no knowledge of owing them any debt as my husband had paid Collection Bureau , Inc. some outstanding medical debts on my behalf back in XX/XX/2020. As far as I am aware, I did not owe them any more money because they sent me no notices notifying that I owed them further debt. I called both Collection Bureau , Inc. and the office of XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX, Attorneys at Law to notify them of their improper court filing on XX/XX/2020. I also emailed the law office on XX/XX/2020. They assured me that they would be placing the judgment on hold. I plan to file a court response to let the court know that I was not aware of the lawsuit or what the debts they list are for since my husband had already paid them in XXXX for previous medical debts I had owed and I believed the debts were no longer owed.

Saw a massive hit to my credit report with my free yearly credit check. Says Collections ACTIVE.

Date reported is XX/XX/XXXX on the credit report. ( Illegally reporting false debt ) Date on Court documents states XXXX XXXX XXXX. ( I'n my eyes ; Submitting False Evidence ) Debt Collector notified me of intent to collect, I disputed the debt. They claimed it was valid and we went to court.

Oregon Case No. XXXX Collection Bureau , Inc vs Me ( Defendant ) I won in court, having the entire amount dismissed with prejudice.

Now some time has passed and come to find out they violated the FDCPA by reporting to Credit agency XXXX. From case notes provided by Collections Bureau Inc for Case XXXX ( XXXX Oregon ) Collections Bureau Inc Claims debt was assigned to them on XX/XX/XXXX, a day after they reported it to my Credit Agency Damaging my credit. Upon getting notified of their intent to collect I refuted it 's validity and even won in court at a later time. They did not remove their collection notice from collection agencies and illegally damaged my credit rating. Unknowingly I have suffered with a lower credit score that may have affected my purchases interest-rates and that of my student loans seeing they are on variable rates. I contacted Collection Bureau Inc today XX/XX/XXXX, informed them of the situation. They transferred me to legal. I informed legal of the situation and they stated I must dispute the claim if I do not want it on my credit report. Seeing they illegally reported against my credit and refused to take action to remedy the situation ; I am reporting this to Consumerfinance.gov I'n hope to prevent future person ( s ) from having to deal with this agency.

At this point I retain my rights to prosecute for damages or any other issues relating to this case. I 'm 100 % sure if they wish to contact me with an public apology, that they still have my phone number. In the mean time I have disputed the claim on my credit report and hope to see this issue resolved quickly.

On XX/XX/2018 I was served a summons to court because my wife and I were being sued my XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX aka Collection Bureau , INC. ISB No. XXXX Case No. XXXX. They are attempting to collect a debt on behalf of the City of XXXX Idaho fora utility bill in which I had no idea that I owed them. I have never received any form of communication from the city, or collection bureau neither oral or written. I did a transfer of service from XXXX to XXXX Idaho XX/XX/2018. I have since then paid all of my utility bills as well as all of my other bills, because I am a responsible person in ensuring a roof stays over my childrens heads. I called the City of XXXX on XX/XX/2018 to let them know I had no idea I owed them money and that I could pay them right now on the spot. They said that they sent notifications to my previous address even though I had moved out of that residence. So of course I did not know I owed them money, no phone calls no nothing. Nonetheless I offered to pay them ( XXXX ) what they say was owed in the amount of {$160.00}. The City of XXXX then told me that they have an agreement with Collection Bureau INC that once something has been turned over to them that they will not accept a payment from the consumer/residence/citizen. I then called Collection Bureau INC same day on XXXX XXXX. They claim to have sent me a letter on XX/XX/2018 and since I failed to respond they decided to sue me. I absolutely did not receive such a letter, but since they did not get a returned letter they deemed it valid. Collection Bureau INC., now claims I owe them a total of {$630.00} deeming any all fees, interest charges, filing fees etc. etc. whatever they choose to make up out of thin air. I unknowingly owed the City of XXXX. I never received a chance to dispute a debt of XXXX dollars Collection bureau inc claims that I owe them.as I have the right to do so under the FDCPA statute of 15 USC 1692g Ive only discovered this by being summoned to court.

I have lived in Utah my whole life. Last year I noticed a collection on my Credit while I was applying for an Auto Loan. The collection I found was from XXXX XXXX XXXX for some apartment in California. I have never lived in California. I have been living in Utah my whole life. I have a signed lease for a place in Utah. I tried reaching out to the apartment in California where the Collection Company CBI says the apartment was rented. When I reached out to property the " XXXX XXXX on XXXX '' the person who answered at the front desk said the property management company that filed the collection was fired for not properly vetting their tenants. I have not been able to find any numbers to this property management company who filed the collection. I have reached out to the Collector CBI many times. They keep saying they are investigating it but never do. I mailed a letter in the format suggested on FTC.gov to CBI the collection company. They sent a letter back showing a copy of the contract. It looks like the signatures were all electronic. There is other weird things listed on the copy of the lease CBI sent me like some old XXXX car but the license plate was not listed. It shows a move in date for XX/XX/2019 and a Move out date for XX/XX/2019. I was living in Utah at the time and would never want to live in California I have filed a police report. I have mailed letter a few letters and made several calls. Filed a police report. Followed every step on Identitytheft.gov. I can go back and search bank statements or credit card charges that show I was in Utah if necessary. I am shocked that any type of property management company would blindly rent to someone without checking an I.D . in person. I have perfect credit except for this and I now can't buy a home or even move and rent another home because of this fraudulent collection. I have attached my rental agreement from XX/XX/2019 for the place in Utah I was living at and that I am currently living at.

After several attempts, XXXX and XXXX will not remove a collection item from my credit report, causing a significant negative impact on my credit score. The issue is not a collection issue. It is a contract dispute between me and my former landlord. The dispute relates to the landlord 's failure to mitigate losses due to early termination of my lease and improperly using the security deposit to offset rent that is in dispute. Because XXXX and XXXX have refused to remove this item from my credit report, I have been forced to file a lawsuit against the creditor ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) which I attach and I am also attaching the latest investigation result from XXXX which has all the relevant details. XXXX and XXXX must remove this collection item from my credit as it is not a collection issue, it is a contract dispute that is currently in litigation. In addition, I have tried to resolve the dispute with the collections agency, Collections Bureau Inc. After several attempts, they also refused to accept that this issue is not a collections issue but a contract dispute. I had to pay the outstanding amount to limit the damage to my credit and then subsequently file a lawsuit against the creditor XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to obtain my money back and hopefully also to remove this line item from my credit report. Amount at issue is {$860.00}. The initial dispute arose in XX/XX/XXXX. The latest update from XXXX was received on XXXX XXXX, XXXX. Lawsuit was Filed on XX/XX/XXXX in order to show that this is a contract dispute in active litigation and not a collection issue.

I spoke with Collection Bureau Inc on today XX/XX/2020 @ XXXX XXXX and spoke with XXXX ( one of the managers ) and another manager who didn't want to provide her name. I've been asking for over 6 months for this company to dispute the amount is due with the original client which is XXXX XXXX and they fail to do so. I reached out to XXXX XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX to be exact ) and spoke with the property manager. She informed me she never received any type of dispute from Collection Bureau Inc. At this point the CFPB should investigate and shut this company down by responding with false and fraudulent information. The managers admitted via phone they don't have any documentation stating they reached out to the property. I would like for this company to provide a response with the current date XX/XX/2020 documentation. My next step will be contacting an attorney and taking this company to court and letting the judge listen to the phone call from today XX/XX/2020 in which the supervisor admitted they don't have any documentation from XXXX XXXX. Also, I did not sign a lease with this company I would like to SEE MY SIGNATURE ON THE LEASE that signature on the lease does not belong to me. Its a computer generated signature its not my signature. I would love to take this case and file to court. I wasn't even in town when this lease was generated I was in XXXX, MN at the XXXX XXXX having XXXX. Please provide to the CFPB a copy of the lease and a copy of my drivers license which shows my signature. It does not match because I did not sign a lease with XXXX XXXX.

In XXXX of XXXX, I went to an urgent care clinic ( Primary Health ) After initial check in and observation the clinic urged me to go to an ER at the hospital. Which I did. I later received an attempt to collect a debt on lab work that was never performed. I called the clinic to get copies of the so-called lab work and they said they couldn't release the results to me. Only the billing. The debt collection agency also falsified the dates of when the visit took place. Saying it happened in XXXX of XXXX, which it did not. On top of it all, I never authorized this debt collection agency to obtain my protected health care information. They have my personal information along with specific lab tests I had taken, as well as the symptoms I was experiencing at the time. This is a clear violation of HIPAA. Also, they have given this information to the credit bureaus without my written consent. Collection agencies and credit bureaus are NOT covered entities when it comes to Protected health care information. Not to mention, In the state of Idaho it is past the statue of limitations to continue attempting to collect on this debt. This company is in violation of many laws and I want their practices looked into. I want this removed from my credit report. They are intentionally trying to damage my credit over a XXXX dollar bill that I DO NOT OWE.

I do not owe the amount that this company is trying to collect from me. I get government assistance for my child care and I have submitted receipts to the owner of the facility and now since no response or contact from her in over XXXX months it was sent to collections in XX/XX/XXXX. I have disputed this debt from day one of me being notified via mail and nothing has been done to correct my credit report or the amount being collected. I have reciepts from the state along with invoices from the provider and my year end statement from the provider that proves I do not owe XXXX that is trying to be collected from me. Every time I try and get a status on this debt an employee named XXXX has refused to provide me with any information on the account and says that I still need to submit proof which I have done. XXXX is the only one that has refused to provide me any information on my case and when I get a " supervisor '' on the line they promise to ask for itemized statements and get back to me which it is now almost XX/XX/XXXX and no update and the promise for itemized statements still is being said but nothing has been sent to me in regards to any thing. I really need help dealing with this company because I can not get any information when I try and contact them because of the employee who answers the phone named XXXX.

This is related to the complaint ID XXXX. I'm being harassed by a debt collector regarding debt I have never failed to pay. I could not locate the original creditor but the debt collector seems to have found them. I am filing this complaint so that the debt collector stop harassing me because I did not fail to pay this debt. I do not want it as a collection on my credit file because this debt is in a good standing. Here is a copy of my original complaint : On XX/XX/XXXX, I received an alert from a credit reporting agency stating there is a new delinquent account added to my credit file. When I checked my credit report, I saw a company had sold an account I was current on to a collection agency. I set up an automatic payment with them a year or so prior. They have never called me or sent me mail to notify me about the account. The automatic payment was happening until XXXX, XXXX. I have never stopped the automatic payment. I have never received a notification about unsuccessful attempt to withdraw from my account, if any. I don't believe there was one. I tried to contact XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX, AZ XXXX, a company with which I set up an automatic payment. I was told they are not responsible for my account anymore and they can't locate it. I attempted repeatedly to find out what happened.

On XX/XX/XXXX I was seen by a care provider that goes by the name of XXXX XXXX. My insurance was not billed correctly through them and I was trying to dispute the amount of {$140.00} to bring it down to {$40.00} which is my copay. In the process of doing so, the account was automatically turned over to Collection Bureau Incorporated in XXXX Idaho on XX/XX/XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX Collection Bureau/ XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX . ( Attny. And owner of collection Bureau LLC. ) served legal papers to collect this debt plus the incurred charges as followed : The original debt of {$140.00} from XXXX XXXX Attny fees of {$140.00} COURT COSTS : {$160.00} PROCESSOR FEE : {$30.00} AND 12 % INTEREST : {$9.00} TOTAL AMOUNT IS NOW {$480.00}. When I call them to resolve this matter, they told me they made several attempts to call me and send me letters in the mail. I received one letter and one phone call only and let them know that I was disputing this matter with XXXX XXXX and my insurance. Not once did collection Bureau inform me that they were going to file a claim against me if it was not paid in a certain time frame. I believe that this attorney is double-dipping and taking advantage of people that are already having a hard time paying their bills it seems that this should not be legal.

on XX/XX/XXXX I went to an urgent care clinic with XXXX XXXX XXXX. After check in and evaluation, Urgent Care directed me to go to the ER at the hospital immediately. They then turned over a medical bill for lab work that never took place, to a collection agency. The collection agency obtained this " debt " two years later and have since been reporting that it was from XX/XX/XXXX which it was not. I have disputed it and uploaded proof of the original visit date and have disputed that the lab ever took place because I have copy of the lab work done at the Hospital, not at this urgent care clinic. Why would I have the same lab done twice in one day, by two different care centers? I also, never signed any paper work authorizing this clinic to turn over my Protected Health care Information to this debt collector. They are not a covered entity under HIPAA guidelines and laws, therefore they should have never been able to have this information. I want this fraudulent debt deleted from my credit report.

The collection agency Representative XXXX XXXX threatened to call my employer ( a bank ) and tell them I have a dirty mouth and do n't pay my bills. I had already paid the medical bill in full and was served papers that they were suing me for interest along with attorneys fees. I had initially contacted the company of my own free will in XXXX to pay the balance in full. They stated they were owed interest and would not accept my payment unless I paid them for their job. I asked for proof they had the authority to seek interest and they stated they did n't have to prove anything. The collection bureau was not only rude while I offered to pay in full but demeaning asking me questions specifically " oh yeah where did you get the money to pay us? '' and " your a XXXX that does n't pay her bills. ''

Company is attempting to collect a debt for lab that was never taken. Dates are inaccurate. My visit occurred in XXXX of XXXX and they are trying to say it happened in XXXX of XXXX. As soon as I arrived and got checked in they advised me to go to the ER which I did. I have documents proving so. They are falsifying dates to collect on lab work that never happened. Ive never seen any lab results from this company. Also, I dont appreciate my protected health information being shared with a collection agency. The reason for specific lab work is something thats extremely personal to me. In the moment I was in extreme discomfort and pain and had no clue as to what I was signing that may have indicated it was ok to release my protected healthcare info. It was never ok.

XXXX informed me that my balance owed to them is {$8300.00} and I was required to pay them $ XXXX/month until debt is payed. Explained to him my circumstances & that I wouldnt be able to pay that much. XXXX then proceeded to tell me that if the $ XXXX/month wasnt made that within 90 days my debt will automatically fall into default. XXXX then proceeded to tell me that a lien will be placed on my home and my wages will be garnished. I offered and paid {$50.00} on above date but didnt seem good enough for XXXX. Collection Bureau Inc. XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, ID XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX XX/XX/18 This collection bureau did not verify amounts owed to them before suing. If they had they would have found I owed nothing to the client they were trying to collect for. I contacted them to resolve the issue only to be transferred to their " Law Office '' who again tried to state there was an amount owed. I informed them I called the debtor to verify amount owed prior to contacting them. At that time their representative from their law office was very rude. I have also received several harassing calls from this collection agency which I do believe is a violation of FDCPA.

This was a fabricated debt from someone who knows the owner of Collection Bureau Inc and used the power they had to file negative information on my credit report to lash out personally towards me after I disputed the debt when I talked to them and requested written information pertaining to the claims of the debt they offered nothing until I filed a XXXX complaint after they already damaged my credit score and good name. The correspondence they sent was nothing on their collection attempts and the party that engage them to do so had nothing as well. This is the perfect example of abusing the system and laws and regulations of collection practices.

XXXX XXXX XXXX turned over a medical bill to a collection agency that I have no knowledge of. I have requested in writing and through my disputes with XXXX to have verification of the debt and that it in fact belongs to me. I have a minor daughter whose father is responsible for all medical bills. I have never received any clarification as to what this debt pertains to and what it is actually for. I find it extremely frustrating that these credit bureaus can just take the word of a debt collector and never have to provide validation of the deb to the person being targeted for money.

Collection Bureau Inc has been attempting to collect a debt of approximately {$630.00}. It was for a charge to replace the carpet in my old apartment. The carpet didn't need to be replaced, as I explained and demonstrated to the original creditor, with photos of the apartment taken upon my exit. I have disputed the debt over the phone and in writing, with photo evidence. CBI has refused to remove the debt despite the evidence that it is fraudulent, and has refused to remove it from my credit report, even if paid in full.

I represent an employer. XXXX sent a fax to a general company number with the person 's name and Social Security number clearly stated and this statement : " This communication is from a debt collector. Any information obtained will be used for that purpose ''. This method of communication is compromising to the employee, as it could be compromising to the person 's position, in addition to exposing the name and social security number, which makes them vulnerable to fraud.

XXXX XXXX of Idaho turned me into CBI for a {$100.00} debt that I paid on XXXX/XXXX/15. They have refused to communicate with CBI that I did, in fact, pay the debt, and CBI subsequently calls me weekly, and has now falsely reported to the credit bureau that I owe the debt. I have been in communication with both the provider of services and collection agency to get this issue cleared up, and the provider of services is refusing to communicate with the collection agency.

Bill was to be paid by insurance due to car accident. Received notice that insurance did not pay and so I made arrangements to pay company directly. Balance was paid in full to the company that I received service from. Collection agency was not involved in payment and should not have reported on my credit. Original creditor agreed to contact collection agency to remove any negative marks due to them reporting on my credit inaccurately.
