My complaint is with Coast Professional Services, and the US Department of Education. Coast has continually and systematically mishandled documents, failed to correspond, prematurely terminated payment arrangements, and performed other acts in a sustained effort to violate my rights as a borrower, all with the goal of continuing to charge usurious fees to which they are not entitled, and to keep my account in collections for their own financial gain. The US Department of Education is included in this complaint because they have provided false information to me, have also lost documentation, have refused to address my concerns, have refused to recall the loan from Coast in accordance with their own policy, and have appeared to aid and abet Coast 's illegal collection practices. I have made no less than 5 separate attempts to enter into a loan rehabilitation with Coast, as well as directly with the Department of Education. In each instance, paperwork was claimed to have been lost, documentation was claimed to have not been received, required correspondence was not sent to me, requests have been denied without due process, documents sent in perfect condition were altered to be made illegible, and other actions counter to regulations and in violation of my rights as a borrower. The most recent example begins in XX/XX/XXXX, where I contacted the Dept of Ed to make one of many attempts to rehabilitate my loan. I was told to forward my request directly to the Dept of Ed, which I did immediately. I received tacit confirmation of the receipt of my complete request, since I received a separate correspondence from the Dept of Ed regarding the enclosed {$600.00} payment, and stating that the payment should have been forwarded to a different address from my request. I continued to make payments directly to the Dept of Ed for XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX, each payment being {$600.00}, which exceeds the amount given by the Department of Ed during my XX/XX/XXXX phone call. Having not received any response from Dept of Ed, I contacted the agency on XX/XX/XXXX at approximately XXXX. At that time I was informed that the Dept of Ed representative in XX/XX/XXXX gave me incorrect information, and the request could not be processed directly with Dept of Ed. The Dept of Ed then advised me that the request and all documents were scanned and forwarded to Coast. I was advised that I could issue a complaint against Coast, and if they fail to respond, the loan can be recalled from Coast and rehabilitated through Dept of Ed directly. I issued the complaint on that day. On XX/XX/XXXX I received a response from Coast dated XX/XX/XXXX. In that response, Coast did not address the status of the loan rehabilitation request that was sent in XX/XX/XXXX, instead, Coast conflated the request with another previous request from XXXX. XXXX stated that the documentation was illegible. I contacted Dept of Ed on XX/XX/XXXX at approximately XXXX. I was informed that Dept of Ed scanned the documents to Coast, but that the scan, performed by Dept of Ed, was not legible. The original documents were no longer available. The two supervisors that I spoke with refused to correct the document scan. They refused to address the incorrect response from Coast. Despite the original assistor on the phone being able to see the Coast letter dated XX/XX/XXXX, and even reviewing the contents, both supervisors claimed that they did not have access to the letter. Again, this was despite the fact that the original assistor was able to volunteer specific details of the letter. In the midst of asking for instructions on how to escalate the complaint, the supervisor ( name and id available upon request ) disconnected the call without cause. It appears that the Dept of Ed is colluding with Coast in an effort to keep my loan in collections, for profit. It is important to me to clear this up, and I have acted in good faith at every turn, over the course of years, only to be thwarted by both Coast and Dept of Ed. I have made payments, and submitted documentation. I have dutifully contacted both Coast and Dept of Ed. My efforts have been nullified by both Coast and the Dept of Ed. This has been motivated by profit, and has been to the detriment of myself, and my family both financially and career wise. The resolution that I'm seeking is that Dept of Ed recalls the loan, so that I am able to make payments directly with Dept of Ed. I am also asking that the negative results on my credit report be removed, as they are the direct result of Coast and Dept of Ed 's negligent, malicious, and capricious actions, recognizing my good faith efforts to pay my student loans. I am asking that Coast be disallowed from charging fees on this debt to which they are not entitled. And I am asking that I am given the chance to pay the full amount of the loan as agreed, and in a timely manner, to the Dept of Ed. I am not asking for an elimination of the debt, as I have benefited from my education in ways that I couldn't have imagined. I want to pay. I want to be in good standing. But Coast and Department of Education are colluding to make that impossible, and I hope to have your help in correcting this folly. I will gladly provide any details you may need. I am grateful for your help in this matter.

I received a letter from Coast Professional , Inc. dated XX/XX/2019 in regards to an alleged student loan debt that they were claiming I owed to the U.S. Department of Education in the amount of {>= $1,000,000} and that this debt had been placed with their agency for collection ( see attachments ). I was unaware of this debt and chose to ignore the letter. I then received a second letter from Coast Professional , Inc. a week later dated XX/XX/2019 in which they stated that they were considering garnishing my wages ( see attachments ). This alarmed me! I am aware of the practice by debt collection agencies using the courts to get default judgments against consumers who don't even owe the debt. In response to this threat, I wrote a dispute letter requesting that they validate this debt according to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 USC 1692g Sec. 809 { b } and sent the letter certified with receipt through the United States Postal Services ( see attachments ). Without having contacted the U.S. Department of Education, I received their first letter, a Notice of Proposed Wage Garnishment dated XX/XX/2019 claiming that I owed the U.S. Government an alleged debt of {$66000.00} ( see attachments ). Before I could respond to the U.S. Department of Education, I received a third letter from Coast Professional , Inc. ( dated XX/XX/2019 ) as their response to my dispute and request for validation, a letter where they offer to me, as validation of this alleged debt, a copy of a non legible Federal Direct Consolidation Loan Application and Promissory Note - NOTHING else ( see attachment ). The same day that I received this letter ( XX/XX/2019 ) I sent the U.S. Department of Education a certified with receipt letter that disputed the debt and requested that the debt be validated according to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 USC 1692g Sec. 809 { b } along with a completed request for a hearing form that accompanied their letter ( see attachments ). In response to Coast Professional , Inc submission of a single document as validation of this alleged debt that they say I owe, I sent them a second letter, dated XX/XX/2019 ( certified with receipt ), stating that if they were not able, or willing to validate this debt that I would consider the debt legally and financially settled ( see attachment ) and extended the validation period to XX/XX/2019. I received a fourth letter from Coast Professional , Inc. dated XX/XX/2019 stating that the U.S. Department of Education had received my request for hearing and that they intended to garnish my wages if I didn't submit evidence to support my objection of the garnishment or application for discharge of debt. They gave me until XX/XX/2019 as a deadline. Before I could respond to Coast Professional, Inc 's letter dated XX/XX/2019, I received a fifth letter from them dated XX/XX/2019 stating that they had fulfilled my validation request and that my previous letter ( dated XX/XX/2019 ) is a duplicate request for validation. My last letter to Coast Professional , Inc is dated XX/XX/2019 in which I state they have NOT validated the debt and any further correspondences would be used as evidence in my complaint to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Federal Trades Commissions and States Attorney General as to violations of the law and my rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( see attachment ). I am dumbfounded by this whole experience. If I owed the debt, I just wanted the debt to be validated for accuracy. I've read and believe that I have a basic understanding as to how the debt validation process should go. I am being continuously stressed by Coast Professional , Inc. disregard for the law and my individual rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. I am feeling like I am defending this alleged debt with multiple agencies. Both the U.S. Department of Education and Coast Professional , Inc. have different alleged debt amounts which neither have offered proof of the debt or how they got to this dollar amount. As of XX/XX/2019, I have yet to receive a response from the U.S. Department of Education in regards to the validation of this debt, which I believe would put both myself and Coast Professional , Inc. in a better position to pursue a resolution. Regardless, Coast Professional Inc. has never stopped attempting to collect on this UNVALIDATED debt and according to their letters are pursuing garnishment of my wages, even during the validation process.

For the past several years, my wages have been garnished to settle an outstanding student loan debt with the Dept. of Education. The garnishment/debt collection is being handled by Coast Professional , Inc. I called Coast in XX/XX/XXXX to check my balance and see when my balance should be paid in full via garnishment ; the balance should have been taken care of in XX/XX/XXXX. In XX/XX/XXXX, my wages were no longer being garnished due to the balance being paid in full. InXX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter stating there was a {$600.00} balance on my account and due to non-payment since XX/XX/XXXX, I now owe an additional {$180.00} in late fees. I contacted Coast on XX/XX/XXXX to inquire about the balance and the late fees. I was informed the {$600.00} was not part of my initial garnishment and was a result of interest accrued on the balance during the time of garnishment payments. I asked why I was never made aware of this additional balance of {$600.00} and was advised Coast had attempted to contact my employer to arrange additional garnishment for the new balance of {$600.00} and had received no response from my company. Due to non-response from my company, late fees have now been applied and total {$180.00}. I asked that the late fees and penalties be removed, as I was not made aware of the balance nor the attempts to reach my company and I did n't feel I was responsible for those fees. I was offered a settlement agreement of {$630.00} to be paid in full in 90 days. While it was n't the full amount of the {$180.00} in fees being removed, I agreed to that amount. I was advised a settlement letter would be sent to my home and, once signed and remitted, I had 90 days to pay the {$630.00} settlement. Today,XX/XX/XXXX, my paycheck was nearly {$150.00} short. I checked my stub and see my wages are again being garnished, after I verbally agreed to a settlement and have been waiting 2 weeks on a settlement agreement in the mail, which has never arrived. I called Coast to see why I was being garnished when I was waiting on my settlement agreement and they advised any garnishment amounts would be credited toward the settlement amount once the signed agreement was received. I advised I still have not received the settlement agreement. They offered to fax the agreement, but my office fax is electronic and goes to the entire firm and I do not want my personal finances shared with my company, so I declined the fax. Coast outright stated this was a new balance and not part of the initial garnishing. I asked that they waive late fees and penalties because no one made me aware there was an additional, separate balance of {$600.00}, which was not included in my initial garnishment. I was advised it was not Coast 's responsibility to inform me of a balance on the account, which I disagree with. If there is a new balance that was not part of the previous debt I was paying, and my company was not responding to the requests for garnishment on the new, separate balance, why was I never made aware? I did receive the aforementioned letter inXX/XX/XXXX, 5 months after the new debt was due, and took immediate action to rectify the situation by calling and offering a settlement. Had Coast informed me of the new balance from the time it was due in XXXX, I would not be charged these additional late fees and penalties. Coast advised they would not waive any of the fees, as I did not pay the new, separate balance, even though I was not made aware of said balance. The manager I spoke with was a bit surly from the outset and tried to talk over me and was not helpful ( feel free to listen to the recorded call ). As she continued to talk over me and tell me it was my fault I was being charged fees on a balance I did n't know existed and was not informed of, my calm demeanor became more escalated and upset and I disconnected the call as to not become too emotional.

I am writing regarding the handling of my student loans with the Department of Education of XXXX. Currently the bulk of my student loans are with XXXX and I am very happy with how they handle my loans. I qualify for the Income Debt Repayment plan, and have had no issues with XXXX receiving my IDR application as well as proof of income. It is easy and reasonable to manage my account with them and supply them with necessary documentation. Last year, and this year, I qualify for a monthly payment of {$0.00} until XX/XX/XXXX, with about {$2700.00} loan forgiveness. Dealing with the the Department of Education has been a nightmare from the beginning I. I have tried many attempts to work with them, and found it extremely difficult. I have tried to apply to their financial aid program but found their application to be excessive and not something I was able to obtain all the information, some of it personal and irrelevent. The application asked for a years worth of bank statements, copy of all bills, etc. I submitted what I could including a copy of my tax return. They had a monthly payment amount that I could not afford. Therefore the loans went into default. Once in default and working with a contracted third party company, I submitted to them on XX/XX/XXXX as requested a wet signature on the schedule C of my XXXX taxes, as well as a complete copy of my XXXX taxes. I have a copy of those emails. I explained that I could not afford the payment amount the dept of education had set for me. So they set my payments at {$5.00} a month. I paid those payments automatically deducted from my bank account since XXXX of XXXX. I do not know why they did not receive a copy of the IBR plan that was submitted. My loans with XXXX have been in good standing at a {$0.00} amount due per month during this time. I have received mail each month from Coast Professionals, a notice stating {$5.00} would be deducted from my bank account. I had no communication whatsoever, that the signed Schedule C on my 1040 return, was not good enough, and what they wanted was a 1040 ES with an estimated earnings with a wet signature as well as a signature on a Rehabilitation program letter.I received a call about a week ago requesting this documents in which I accomodated. I did not receive any communication that they would be taking my Income Tax Return of {$4000.00} and applying it to my loan. There was no warning that this was going to happen,. Ive done everything they have asked me to do. I have made automatic on time payment for a year. I have provided all the paperwork. I can. Submitting my full tax return and applying for an IDR plan should be enough to keep them from being able to find loopholes and ways to steal peoples tax return. I am a single mother, my income is below the poverty level. This puts my family in a crisis. Last year I made less money because I have been ill and waiting for XXXX. Ive had to postpone XXXX because I could not afford my insurance premium. This has always been an issues with the department of education and I find their practices and handling of peoples student loan files to be unethical, and cruel to people of low income, XXXX or otherwise disfranchised. I am demanding that my tax return be returned in full, without hassle. I really should not be in default, if the application had been reasonably accessible and accepted then I would of qualified for payments appropriate to my income. I should not be in default with an IBR plan on file stating that my payments are XXXX. It is unethical to take a tax return when someone is making payments each month, in the amount that was request. I am asking that my tax return, be returned to me. I have met the qualification of the default program, therefor I should be released. I would like to consolidate my loans so that XXXX can be the only managing company in charge of my loans.

My student loan was referred to Coast Professional Inc. by the Department of Education for rehabilitation. In XX/XX/XXXX after a lengthy telephone intake with a Coast Professional Inc. representative and manager, I entered into an agreement with that agency. The agreement was derived by me emailing most recent pay stubs, a financial disclosure form, and a declaration of vehicle ownership. The manager first attempted an excessive over XXXX monthly payment, but then calculated {$260.00} using my submitted documents that mimicked the previous department of education note ; however, that sum was still {$30.00} beyond my defaulted payment amount. Because I wanted to remedy my delinquent loan, I accepted the terms and began making timely, automated payment withdraws from my bank account. I also informed the Coast Professional representative and manager to leave me a voicemail should any problems arise, which they agreed. Those payments continued without issue until XX/XX/XXXX. At that 6 month mark, I received a XXXX envelop containing a second financial disclosure form with a " submit by XX/XX/XXXX '' due date. Confused, I contacted my intake Coast Professional Inc. representative who passed me to another where I was told my agreement was not officially validated, submitted documents were " too dark ''. When I challenged, I was advised " sometimes documents become too dark when transferred intra-company and to resend them via fax. I was also told they could n't leave voicemails due to privacy concerns. I faxed most recent check stubs and a duplicate financial disclosure form a week before XX/XX/XXXX. I then received a XXXX envelope containing a different agreement demanding a monthly {$350.00} retroactive to XXXX XXXX. The document stated the offer was null and void after 2-weeks where I would have to submit a third financial disclosure form. I immediately began investigating Coast Professional to find much disturbing information : the Department of Education accuses Coast Professional Inc. of " making material, inaccurate representations to borrowers trying to get their loans out of default '', " presenting inaccurate information for unacceptably high rates '', and " misleading borrowers about certain collection fees '' ( XXXX XXXX : XX/XX/XXXX ). Loans were halted from the Department of Education to Coast Professional, yet Coast was able to manage a work around to continue securing business. A few days later, a Coast Professional Inc. representative contacted me and said my faxed XX/XX/XXXX documents were " too dark ''. I again questioned with open eyes how sending documents using a separate media format would yield such a result. The Coast Professional Inc. representative switched directly into lowering the recent {$350.00} per month reassessment back to {$260.00}, I just needed to fax another declaration of vehicle ownership to " confirm that amount ''. The last declaration of vehicle ownership was " not recieved ''. She was supposed to contact me later in the evening for a correction and requested I be near a fax machine. That call never came. Predatory practice by Coast Professional Inc. is what 's evident to me. They are essentially holding my now in good standing account hostage in attempts to squeeze fees and further payments toward a {$5000.00} penalty they tacked to my account after assuming the rehabilitation process. They advised me once my account was rehabbed, any unpaid remainder of that fee would dissolve. This week of XX/XX/XXXX, I am shopping legal representation in addition to filing this complaint with the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection.

I have been dealing with coast professional Inc for eight months trying to get a payment plan for my student loan during this time I have spoken to numerous people at coast and have been told different things from every one of them, I set up a payment plan of XXXX until late they got the financial disclosure for rehabilitation paperwork which I sent in. After not hearing from them for a month I called them talked with another person who said they did n't get my paperwork, so I sent it in again and called back to make sure they got it they said yes and they would send me my payment amount after they went over my monthly financial burden, did n't hear back from them for a month so I called them back talked to a different person that said I sent them the wrong version of the financial disclosure package and I would have to fill out the right version and resend it, which I did, called made sure they got it and waited again for them to send me a repayment amount still did n't hear back from them but I got a letter from the department of education that they were going to garnish my wages. I called coast again to find out what was going on since I was paying a payment every month why were they garnishing my income they said I missed a payment but I could make it up by paying two for this month which I did and asked why I have n't heard back about my rehabilitation paperwork the person said there was not a release on file so they could call me and I would have to talk to a different department they transferred me that department where I spoke to XXXX said there was a problem with my paperwork and I needed to resubmit it with a letter stating that I gave them permission to call me so I did for the fourth time called back made sure they got it and it looked OK spoke to XXXX she said looked good I should get a payment amount in a few days and they could release the garnishment as soon as they got the signed copy of the repayment plan back, I got the package with the paper work on Friday signed and put it in the XXXX box for shipping back to them called to tell them I sent it back and spoke with XXXX told her I had sent back the agreement and when the garnishment would be released and she told me after I make five payments, I told her that I have been making payments and have made five payments and the person I spoke with before said as soon as they got the repayment plan back they would release the garnishment she said that was not correct that I had to make five payment of the plan agreement which is not what I was told. So I have been dealing with coast since XX/XX/XXXX spoken with six different people been told six different things, paid payments that did nothing to help my repayment agreement, have a garnishment they are taking out every payday and they want me to still make payments for five months I can not do. This company has lied to me for eight months taken money they knew would not count for anything and mislead me in the way to rehabilitating my student loan now I have no recourse but to pay a garnishment that should not have happened because I ca n't make loan payments and pay a garnishment at the same time, this is a system that is set up to fail. Anything that you do to help would be greatly appreciated I 'm sure that other people are going through the same thing with this company, they are doing the same thing as XXXX the company that you currently have a lawsuit filed against.

I have had repeated contact with coast professional and they do not stick to the truth or their word. Even while paying my agreement payment since XX/XX/XXXXthey deny receiving the payment and have notified me they are garnishing my wages, tax returns, other servicers are contacting me that they are garnishment offset federal etc. I send notice to usdept of ed and the ombudsman to overlook and intervene, requesting coast to honor the payment and agreement and not abuse the system, by not showing my payments in their collections notices. Further they lie to us dept of ed because ed writes back and tells me to contact coast to GET an agreement. I already have and agreement and I pay for a year now. In addition I had a letter with a form for me to fill out again to enter a new agreement. this is unfair and deceptive and very stressful to me. i have not slept and my XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. very XXXX. unable to think straight. i ca n't borrow to go back to school, credit ruined. i was ill and still am ill from car accidents and have been forced by the financial aid officer at the XXXX XXXX XXXX college to sign a letter stating i promise not to get sick or XXXX. how can one promise the future of their health like this? further, i was on unemployment when i qualified for the work tuition assistance with the college. however the college dragged the situation for 2 yrs, causing my unemployment to run out and i struggled to keep up with an older computer. the school had technical issues and i was locked out of the classes with tech issues. of the 4 classes for the whole semester i was able to log in to one class most of the semester, one class a few times and the others not able to get in. so no matter what i did or complained about it did n't matter. i thought my adviser was helping until she was communicating directly with the financial aid director XXXX XXXX who is the very same who delayed my fafsa for 2 yrs, claiming she did n't know how to process my application. and since i had been given a discharge inXX/XX/XXXXfor medical reasons, she told me I was n't eligible. however, i was told and confirmed both from us dept of ed, the ombudsman and the previous school i had taken courses at that all they had to do was check off a box and i was able to take the courses. now this coast is so so so aggressive and dishonest in their dealings that i am ready to fall over. i am ill and qualifiy as a XXXX, but have tried so hard to keep myself going. but it 's nt working. the courses at XXXX XXXX were online line, 4 classes full time. it has ruined my credit, no course credit and nobody at the school is behaving honorably. and today nobody is willing to listen to somebody who is a " student '' who needs financial aid and has financial difficulties. they just treat people unfairly and it 's our student loan money that 's paying their salaries. rich people are n't going to the XXXX colleges they are at higher schools paying cash. very deceptive and i am strssed fighting a foreclosure unethical behavior by XXXX XXXX XXXX pulling similarly deceptive actions. need your help to intervene with coast and apparently XXXX who also wrote and indicated garnishment. i told hem i had food stamps and fuel asisstnace and yet they just bombard me. please assist

In XXXX of XXXX, the US Dept. of Education recalled my federal student loans with XXXX XXXX and gave it to Coast Professional to manage. I was never notified of the change because Coast Professional incorrectly updated my contact information upon the transfer. Since XXXX XXXX is not able to provide payment information to Coast Professional, the payments stopped coming out of my account. Communications regarding the missed payments from Coast Professional went to the new address that they incorrectly updated and have now put my account in a default status. The only reason I found out about any of this is because the HR department at my work informed me of the upcoming garnishment to my next paycheck. When I contacted Coast Professional, the representative admitted that they had received undelivered statuses on the missed payment and garnishment notifications and told me it was my job to keep up to date contact information with the US Department of Education. When I contacted the US Department of Education, their records show that I updated my address in XX/XX/XXXX and that Coast Professional had since changed it on XX/XX/XXXX to an address I had not lived at for over three years. Due to Coast Service 's clerical error, I was told I would see an increase in my monthly payments on top of the garnishment. When I explained the situation to the US Department of Education, they were dismissive and said that all I can do is file a request for hearing ; the hearing process can take up to 60 days. Prior to the hearing, the garnishments and increased monthly payments ( which would more than triple my current payments ) would be owed. I told Coast Professional I was willing to pay for all missed monthly payments immediately if the default status is removed, the garnishments stopped, and the monthly payments returned to the prior amount. Per the US Department of Education, I have the right to a 30 day notice with regards to the garnishment, the nature and amount of debt, the opportunity to inspect and copy records relating to the debt, the right to object to the garnishment and the options to avoid garnishment by voluntary repayment. I was not afforded any of these due to Coast Professional 's clerical error. Coast Professional told me there was nothing I could do about the garnishment and they were not receptive to my proposed solution. Additionally, the representative from Coast Professional told me one option I had was to pay off the loan in full or settle for an amount less than was owed ; settling would negatively impact my credit score for a long time. The amount of the loan due and savings on the settlement were misquoted by more than 10 % of the balance on the loans. I have consulted with an attorney and they have informed me that the cost of the pursuing legal action would outweigh any financial benefit I would realize. I cant help but feel like the address change was intentional and a tactic they use to collect additional money from people in situations like mine because they know there are minimal chances for repercussions.

In XX/XX/2018 I was contacted by Coast Professional stating that my student loans had been turned over to them to collect the debt. After telling them that I could not afford the payments they wanted me to pay I was told that they could see about lowering it. After several attempts of complying with what they wanted/required, I was not successful at getting help. It was left at them attempting to find some other way to help and being told that they would contact me when they did. 9 months went by and I was not contacted once by any representative of their company. In XX/XX/2018 I recieved notice that my wages were going to be garnished. I immediately call their company to try to figure out something else since I already live paycheck to paycheck. I was told that they were not able to stop the garnishment, but that I could apply for a lower payment to be made each month in addition to the garnishment. After figuring out how much the additional payment would be, I agreed to continue with the process because I was informed that if I made 5 payments they would stop garnishing my checks. That was in late XX/XX/XXXX. Each time I call in and speak with a representative i am told a different story and that there are different things that are required. I have sent in everything that they have asked and am being told that some of the paperwork was denied because of how it was printed off, which was not in my control. Not only do I talk to different people each time and am told different things, but I have asked them to not call me during the day since I am working, but after being told that they would make note of it and not call during the day, I still receive calls. I have been told that they do not leave voicemails and that they are not able to email outside of the office when I have asked for them to send me something via email, which makes communication with them more difficult given my schedule. Part of the repayment plan is that they needed to know how much we spend in living expenses each month, and when I attempted to update them on the price of our rent being raised I was told that it didnt matter because I was already at the lowest payment. I understand that the payment may be at the lowest, however I would like for the information to be correct. I feel as though they company and representatives of that company do not know what they are doing as far as their policies and paperwork that is needed. I also feel that it is very wrong of them to garnish my wages without any notice or communication for 9 months. I am not denying that I owe the student loan debt, but I do not believe that it warrants this company garnishing my wages. It has put a huge financial hardship on my husband and I because we do not receive any government assistance and there are times when it comes down to paying a bill to sustain living in our home or buying groceries. We have already cut our expenses and not sure how else to lower our bills to afford the garnishment.

In XXXX of XXXX, I setup a monthly auto payment with Coast Professional to rehabilitate my delinquent student loans. In XXXX of XXXX, my scheduled payment failed to process. I did not receive any notification that payment had failed. I believed payments were still processing as usual, since I was not informed otherwise. In fact, I received monthly statements from Coast Professional and those did not indicate there were any missed payments, outstanding balance, or any other abnormalities with my account. It was only brought to my attention that there was an issue when I received notice from the Department of Education indicating that my wages would be garnished. Ive contacted both Coast Professional and the Department of Education to rectify this and resume payments, yet both indicate that its up to the other organization to approve me continuing my loan rehabilitation without having to start the process over entirely. I spoke directly to XXXX XXXX, a Consumer Care Manager at Coast Professional, and was told that the Department of Education could add a note to my account regarding me remaining in the rehabilitation program. I contacted the Department of Education and they made note on my account yet when I contacted Coast Professional again, they are now saying that it must be a direct order from the Department of Education. I continue to get the run around with nobody seemingly able or willing to adequately assist with this issue. Everyone seems to understand that this was an error and that I did not receive notification, yet Im still told I will need to start the rehabilitation process over anyways. Additionally, Coast Professional accepted payment from me on XX/XX/XXXX, which I made to show that my intent is to remain consistent and that the payment failure was due to an unforeseen issue and not a lack of funds or any other outright failure to pay and comply with the rehabilitation terms. I have again followed up with Coast Professional and spoke with XXXX XXXX, another Consumer Care Manager. I was informed by him that any attempt to reach me would have been from XXXX. This is the same number I saved in my contacts when first setting up my loan rehabilitation, at the advice of the representative for my account. I did not receive any calls from this number. I was also informed that Coast Professional did not leave a voicemail and that no mail was sent to notify me of a payment issue. Not even the monthly mailed statements show any missed payment. This is an unfair debt collection practice and it is very misleading to send monthly correspondence via mail and not inform consumers of any account issues. I believe this is predatory and not in the spirit of honest, clear communication with consumers. Actions such as this directly result in a collection agency being able to retain a borrowers account in their portfolio by recycling them through the rehabilitation program multiple times.

Since XX/XX/XXXXI made a " forced '' payment arrangement with an agency which represented itself as a representative of the Department of Education, all this after having tried numerous attempts with the Department of Education directly to reach payment arrangements with them which were in vain since they always rejected my request. All this was based on an alleged document they had sent which I never received since it was sent to an address in which I did not reside and I had moved about 5 years prior. Since then it has been an ordeal with the Department of Education. The first thing is that after having made the payment arrangement with Coastal Professional in which they assured me that I would not have any problem as long as I fulfilled my monthly payments for which I allowed them direct debit from my bank account, in addition to making sure that After 9 payments I could reach a direct payment arrangement with the education department, this was never to happen. I had been making the payments properly, they got into my salary and took monies which came from my employer, when I complained they blamed to the Department of Education for this, when I complained to the Department of Education they blamed Coastal Professional and thus nobody was responsible for any explanation that asked. I started a complaint process directly with the Department of Education because they had not complied with the treatment through the agency that represented them and for the supposed document that was not my fault they would send it to an address in which they no longer resided. They had a deadline to answer me which they did not meet if at that time they did not answer they had to stop the debits of my salary, for which I also had to call them. My surprise was such that after 10 or 12 payments with Coastal professional in more than one occasion I called the Department of Education they told me that they had no notification that I was paying through any agency, then I explained that payments were being debited from my bank!. Anyway, the agency constantly asked me for documents because I decided that what I sent them was not clear, which was false, they suddenly stopped debiting me from my account and in the middle of that process they also kept money from my refund ( IRS ) Again I complained again because they did not answer me or give a solution to my case, they could not do it again, for the last time they blamed each other again Collection Agency vs. Department of Education. They never answered me or solved anything, they took money from my salary, they charged through the agency and in 2 occasions of my IRS refund. Even so, the debt appears to me in the credit bureau, they reactivate it constantly and I have the fear that the IRS will also claim some kind of lean against my taxes yet again.

Summary : Coast Professional ( debt collector ) is using false information to intimidate and mislead Perkins Loans holders into paying debt that is supposed to be forgiven. I am a Federal Perkins Loan holder. For five years I worked as a XXXX XXXX XXXX ( high needs subject area ) in a Title 1 school. Both of these qualifications make me eligible for yearly deferment of payments and cancellation of a portion of the loan each year for 5 years until the loan is entirely forgiven. Every year I have filled out the required paperwork which includes employment verification from the school district I worked with. This year, even though they have accepted it in the past, the lender XXXX XXXX XXXX ) rejected my application because it was signed with a digital signature. Their current paperwork even states that digital signatures are accepted. Anyway, in the process of redoing my paperwork, the lender sent my loan to collections ( everything has to be done by snail mail because the district 's official stamp - required by the lender - will not show up when electronically scanned, the paperwork has to be completed at the DO - no one at my actual school could do it - per lender 's requirements, and I live an hour from the town where I taught ). So, my loan ended up with Coast Professional. When I called XXXX XXXX to dispute everything, they told me I needed to call Coast Professional and ask them to send the loan back to them. XXXX XXXX conveyed that this would not be a problem. I think they knew better, but I've already sent in a complaint about them. The first person I spoke to at Coast Professional ( I believe the date of this call was XX/XX/2022 ) claimed they could not help me, and my only recourse was to either consolidate my Perkins Loan into my PSLF loans ( which would effectively require me to make payments on the Perkins Loan which was eligible for immediate forgiveness ), or to set up a payment plan with Coast Professional. I refused to do this and demanded the company do what XXXX XXXX told me they could do. This call center employee then transferred me to a " manager '' who FALSELY claimed I had lost my eligibility for forgiveness because the loan was now in default. Eligibility for Perkins Loan forgiveness can not be taken away as a result of late paperwork or other clerical errors that put it into default. This is FACT ( which I know because I've gotten my university involved in this matter ). She then threatened to share negative information about me with my university. I told her I would call them myself and asked for the number she had. She gave me a phone number that turned out to be fake and not associated with my school. ( All of my university 's numbers begin with the same three numbers, this one did not and went to XXXX XXXX of XXXX recording ).

XX/XX/XXXX Federal Income Tax Refund taken from XXXX XXXX although I am in a Loan Rehabilitation Program with XXXX. I received a letter today, XX/XX/XXXX, supposedly from The US Department of Treasury/US Department of Education stating my Federal Income Tax was taken for unpaid Student Loans. When I called the number listed ( XXXX ) I was redirected to Coast Professional, a fraudulent Debt Collection Agency that does not answer their phones nor do they set up repayment plans. This year they are located in New York, last year they were located in California. My Income Tax Refund was taken last year from a similar fraudulent agency. I reported Coast Professional last year and nothing was done to correct the problem. Months ago, I signed on with XXXX for a Student Loan Rehabilitation Program since the were able to substantiate the debt and actually answered phone calls in addition to returning phone calls. Since then my account has been deducted monthly with a payment I can actually afford. Imagine my dismay and disgust when I received another letter from the US Department of Treasury/US Department of Education telling me my Income Tax Refund has been taken by a company that does not answer their phones and refused to return phone calls for repayment. Except this time, the same company - '' Coast Professional '' - is not based in California as it was last year, now it is based in New York. After another call to " Coast Professional '' that was sent directly to voice mail, I then recalled the number listed for our fraudulent US Department of Treasury/US Department of Education. After explaining the situation to " XXXX '', I was then transferred to " Supervisor XXXX '' that was extremely rude, disrespectful and told me " Managers do not take phone calls here. '' after I told him to let me speak with his superior. Supervisor " XXXX '' or more rightly named " XXXX '', did not want to understand that I was already in a Loan Rehab Program with another company, that " Coast Professional '' was a fraudulent agency and that I expected better from a supposed employee of our so-called government. XXXX did not like it when I told him his paycheck was paid for by tax-payers. He actually stated that was not true and then disconnected the call. If these are the kind of people in charge of my personal information and are allowed to take money from me and my children, then I will never file another tax return again since obviously the government is so inept and filthy they can not help themselves and are beyond redemption. This year was the last chance for the US Department or Treasury and the US Department of Education. They failed.

Loans were handled through a loan forgiveness program and payments were being made to XXXX XXXX to finance the program. XXXX XXXX stopped using my debit card and switched to a check after over a year of payment. ( Debit card would simply reject payment if funds were not available and they would re-run in a few days if this occurred. Checks cost {$30.00} at my bank and {$45.00} through them for every time one did not clear. ) this was set up on auto draft and sometimes would miss my pay date by 2 or 3 days. After I discovered this I relized they not only tried once but an average of 3 times before anybody ever contacted me about issues dates started to fluctuate and I was being charged up to XXXX by my bank and XXXX by the company for my {$45.00} payment that did not even apply to my student loans!! I finally told them I could not pay them anymore and tried to change my student loan provider only to be told I was not able to until the old one approved the change. I tried with XXXX XXXX several times to no avail. Now with in the last couple of month ( 2 ) I started receiving a weird phone call asking for me to verify my date of birth and last 4 of my social along with my address. I asked who was calling and all they would tell me was it was a personal business matter. Would not disclose any more than XXXX XXXX. I have never heard of this company before and did not feel comfortable giving that information with out more information from the company. They refused. Then begin calling my cell phone 3 to 4 times per day and calling my work at least 2 to 3 times per week ( Even after I informed them I Was not allowed to receive personal phone calls at work. I was told they would send something in the mail regarding what the call was about and nothing came until Monday ( XX/XX/XXXX ). a notice of garnishment of wages. stating that I would be able to dispute the notice. When I returned to work after lunch where I do Payroll.. There was an order to garnish my own wages from this company. When I XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX my loan totals were somewhere around 20,000. 3 years ago when I entered into an agreement to help with my loans they were around 45,000. today the notice on my desk at work says I own more than 67,000 I have tried making payments, I tried loan forgiveness program. Now Starting XX/XX/XXXX I will have to choose between feeding my kids or paying my electric bill because this company wants to take 15 % of my income. I barely make enough to keep food on the table as it is! My XXXX XXXX from a local University where literally everybody gets accepted is not worth XXXX It has not benefited me enough to deal with all of this!

I was contacted by Coast Professional , Inc. company regarding my student loan payments being in collections in XXXX of XXXX. At that time, I tried unsuccessfully to fight their allegations. I had received a forbearance on my student loan accounts until XXXX. In XX/XX/XXXX, I received a notification from XXXX and XXXX ( XXXX XXXX ) informing me that my payments were coming due because of the forbearance had ended or was close to ending. I shared my concern regarding this situation with XXXX because I have been plagued with a wage garnishment on my job. This was implemented through a collection agency named Coast Professionals , Inc. who claims that XXXX and XXXX XXXX placed my account in default with them. I have had my check garnished since XX/XX/XXXX. When I initially had a conversation with this company I assured them that my account was in forbearance and I could not be in default. To my dismay, Coast Professional , Inc. aggressively pursued activating the garnishment of my wages. Recently, I have learned that XXXX never placed my account in collections. In addition, the XXXX company does not issue wage garnishments as a practice to collect student loan debts. The student loan representative from XXXX made note of this in my account. XXXX also assured me that this was a scam. However, the representative that I spoke to assured me that I would receive a letter from XXXX explaining the status of my account to my employer which would eliminate the continuation of the garnishment. I have not received the letter as of today. The ultimate conclusion from the information that I have gathered is that Coast Professional , Inc. is a fraudulent/scam company falsely representing itself as an extension of the U.S. Department of Education, XXXX and XXXX XXXX. Consequently, I will not be able to pay both agencies if this criminal act is allowed to continue and persist to drain my finances. I also would like clarity about where the monies will be credited one this is resolved. If I will get credit for the monies collected during this time period. In the meantime, I am a victim suffering a horrendous loss of income, dignity, undo stress, and the possibility of losing my position at work. I urge CFPB to please, investigate this company in conjunction with my account and the tremendous threat it may present to other clients as well.

In XXXX helped my daughter get a loan, the gal told me because I did not have employment or received income tax refunds my daughter would be eligible for a higher grant. Her Father was the sole provider for our family until his passing in XXXX .The gal stated I was considered below poverty the grant would help my daughter.i have NOT received a bill on this. The IRS informed me I had a tax offset taking my entire refund and applying it to a collection agency for Dept. Of Ed. I am now the sole provider for my XXXX YR old grandchild and I received the XXXX for the sole purpose of caring for her.my daughter has her loan in deferment so she had thought that was it, like I said I have not been sent a bill, when in fact all these people I have contacted concerning this issue including the collection agency DO HAVE MY CORRECT ADDRESS.I believe I was falsely certified for this loan as I 've only filed income taxes this will be the second time in my life and I 'm XXXX years of age.The Dept.of education nor the collection agency has notified me of this issue.Like I said my daughter 's father was the sole provider for our family, until he recently passed away.Ive researched ALOT on this issue and found on dept.of Ed that if a payment has n't been made on a loan in 270 days then the loan will go into default..Dept. of XXXX informed me that the loan went into default on XX/XX/XXXX, AGAIN I 've received nothing on this loan .So it has been since XXXX it is now XXXX that 's roughly around XXXX some odd days, my question is how did this just now go into default then? Federal law requires you must be given advanced notice of proposed offset including the nature and outstanding debt, the notice must also advise you of your rights, AGAIN I 've received nothing. And the collection agency took my tax refund for the debt.On my refund I was only untitled to the XXXX for my XXXX YR old grandchild in my care nothing more, nothing less.I am in a financial hardship as I 'm now unemployed and expected that refund to get back on our feet for my granddaughter and I .I am requesting a tax offset refund request from the collection agency as they nor any other institution has informed me of this .I 've filed several complaints and still waiting.i could have gotten a deferment also had I been informed of this.

Coast Professional took over my student loan. I received a letter that my wages would be garnished. I called and spoke with the manager ( so-called ) there by the name of XXXX XXXX. I explained to him that I was on a payment plan prior with another company from Dept of Ed and that my payment suddenly stopped from being deducted from my account after 2 years. He stated that he would look into it. Two weeks had gone past and I heard nothing. The next pay cycle my check was deducted {$XXXX} ( per pay period ). I called Coast XXXX and asked what could I do, XXXX XXXX was rude and said " What do you mean what can you do? Pay it! '' I told him that I would call Dept of Ed and get to the bottom of this. I called Dept of Ed and they had no idea that I was getting garnished. That was only after I was hung up on by 2 people while transferring my call. I called back and got a manger on the phone who explained everything to my wife and I. I then sent all the paperwork needed to Coast XXXX in XXXX. I had to keep calling to check that they did receive it. Only to find out that XXXX XXXX is the manager of wage garnishment and they were already in the process of garnishment. The phone calls kept going because we would send info only to be told " Oh you forgot something '' on ly to point out that they received it already. We were then told that my garnishment wages were granted to be stopped on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX by XXXX. I called Dept of Ed only to be told that they had none of my information and they do not know why I was told such. I called Coast XXXX back and spoke with XXXX this time because XXXX who prev told me that an item was missing again was busy. XXXX stated that Coast has not sent my information yet because they did not have all my paperwork. I am still waiting for this to be resolved. I asked for the loan amounts to be sent and I have yet to receive paperwork about my loans or paperwork stating that my wages were garnished! This company is HORRIBLE and Dept of Ed should be ashamed to let their student be handled in such a way. I now recommend to all kids not to take out a student loan just go to trade school and try to get a grant!

On XXXX Coast Professional Inc contacted me. The conversation went, " this call is being recorded, Is this [ my name ]. I answered yes. They said they needed identifying information to verify that it was me. I asked who they are. They said that they could not tell me until I gave them my info. I continued to ask who they were. They said that they sent me a letter, and only that they sent me a letter, no other information to identify said letter. I asked what they do, they said they handle personal business. I said they sound like scammers. They said they were not, but gave no additional information. After a bit of back and forth they grew tired of me and transferred me to their supervisor, who used my full name, not just my first name, and continued to refuse to answer the most basic information about who they were. They decided to give up and end the call. I XXXX the number that called me and the name above came up. So I called a different number that I found on the internet, and asked if what I experienced was normal behavior. The individual basically indicated that it was normal and said that there are laws that prevent them from identifying who they are until they know that I am the right person. They called again on XXXX. Again demanded to know my personal information with out telling me even the most basic information about who they are. When they said they sent me a letter again I asked if they thought that was the only letter I got. And they did tell me the name of the company. ( only because I said that I was the name they were looking for, if I want more, basic, information about the company I had to prove who I was ). At some point they said that they have my entire SS number right in front of them, so if I would just tell them the last four. Said that since he told me the name of the company I should just XXXX it. also said at some point that there are laws that prevent him from giving me information about the company. when I pushed back with, the information that I am asking for is publicly available information, he said it was policy not to say.

Against coastal profession INC ( claiming to represent the IRS ) From my sister a family member and also this is my first time learning of any debt owed to IRS!? Text from my sister that I have saved and also in recorded line from IRS Private Debt Collector calling my sister and goving personal information and stating I have debt owed to the IRS which is a direct violation u the The FDCPA as well as a direct CFOB consumer protection law violation of two accounts or more. 1st being failed to disclose in written form of the notification that 1. I even owe a debt to IRS via mailing and who the represent. So the failed to notify me in writing first even awarding me of any debt owed who the represent what for and who they are in written for. Mailed to me was never done. Violation on page 5. Of The FDCPA violation. Then instead of or in disregarding the first violation and myself never getting a call they called my sister a direct Family member without my consent to then elaborate and hence the way I first found out of the debt is by text from my sister stating that I just got a call from Coastal professional, Inc. they claim they are representing the irs I have no clue or knowledge of this. Also stated I owed a negative debt to ORS and was probing for information about me, also wanted to talk with you. I gave them your number. They then said they were a private third party collection agentxy fort the irs and that I owed a large amount and needed to pay!? After the doscriptive information they probided me about the so called debt Im under the understanding its an IRS debt collection agency that you owe money to. This is second unlawful and illegal way under both the CFPB and FDCPA.due to This the debt should be cleared before taking legal action for their wrongful direct violation before having to take legal actions against as first time Hearing of this debt as well as two if not three to 4 direct consumer protection violations please address and have removed due to their direct violations. It was also a recorded call so can be played back proving.

This company ( Coast Professional ) sent documents over to my employer as an government official. ( Documents attached ). I have never received documentation from this company or contracted with this company. Therefore I sent an affidavit to there company requesting jurisdiction and validated information and never received a response.I still have yet to see the contract granting Coast Professional the rights/Jurisdiction regardless of who they are stating they are working on the behalf of. I do not want to do business with Coast Professional. Attached is where Coast Professional not XXXX sent papers to my employer to garnish my wages. You still must prove your jurisdiction and answer the claim by affidavit per the law. Again, I dispute to contract with your company and we can get the XXXX involved if need be. Please attach a copy of any signed agreement alleged debtor/claimant has made with debt collector, or other verifiable proof that debtor/claimant has a contractual obligation between the debtor and Coast Professional Inc to pay debt collector which will give your company jurisdiction to report this debt on my credit and garnish my wages ( per letter attached ) .. Regardless of what type of company you are, you still have to have a contract between either you or I or the original creditor in which gives you obligation to try and collect a debt. If you didn't purchase this debt then you surely have an obligation letter to collect and provide to me. You have not provided anything regarding to the proof of claim request by affidavit from the commissioner of the court with matching government issued identification. Also, the cease letter was strictly for collection and has nothing to do with the proof of claim requested. All information requested by affidavit which is not to be treated as normal communication per FDCPA. This is your final notice to remove garnishment and any collection activity or a commercial lien and or suit will be filed against your company for dishonor, no jurisdiction and punitive damages.

Starting in XX/XX/2020 I have attempted to contact the U.S Department of Education, the loan servicer, dispute resolutions group, and various other entities that I have been referred to without success. I have been continually advised to contact various different entities within the U.S Dept. of Educations system creating an endless loop of calls resulting in hours upon hours of wasted time without any resolution. I have requested the necessary forms to file a dispute which have been outright denied in several instances, and when I finally spoke with someone who agreed to send out the forms I never received anything. On XX/XX/2020 XXXX I was advise that per federal legislation my tax offset would be refunded to me within approximately 6-8 weeks. On XX/XX/2020 at XXXX I contacted the U.S Department of Education to check the status of the refund as I had not received it nor did I receive any communication at all with regard to the complaint I filed regarding this issue on XX/XX/2020. Not only was I advised that the case associated with my complaint was closed without my knowledge I was told that there was no information regarding the refund and was again told to call the dispute resolution group. The tactics used by both the U.S Department of Education and its affiliate creditors are an obvious ploy to not disclose pertinent information to the borrower per federal law. To date I have received no information regarding the erroneous " fees and costs '' assessed to my loan totaling more than $ XXXX in one year alone in addition to the interest. The source of these fees has never been disclosed and is NOT attributed to and penalties or late fees as their very own statements show that no penalties and late charged have been added due to the over $ XXXX in payments they have admitted to receiving in XXXX alone. My requests for hearing have gone unanswered despite numerous calls, faxes, and letters requesting administrative intercession and mediation.

I received a letter noting garnishment would begin on my defaulted loan, so I reached out to " Coast Professionals '' and tried to deal with it. For 3 months they kept rejecting mine and my husband 's pay stubs and they never allowed a time extension and began taking money out of my paycheck. They have been abusive via phone and have provided inaccurate information each time I contact them - quite literally the rules of the game change. I 'm now stuck having my wages garnished, and my son was paying them {$20.00} a month to get the loan out of default - they updated their " records '' today and decided my husband 's income combined with mine ( XXXX the income previously on record with them as we had been trying to scan his paystubs in but they said they were too dark and offered no other solutions - I mailed them a copy, scanned and emailed, faxed, and texted ) means my son needs to pay {$200.00} a month, XXXX the amount he 's already paying them. They 've provided no material information other than repeatedly mailing a bill to my address on file, even while we 've been working on this rehabilitation program. It 's worth noting that we began this process in XXXX 2016 - we did everything they asked of us, scanning, etc. repeatedly, and they told us they would adjust the date for garnishment to begin - XXXX XXXX rolls around and they began garnishing while I was still sending them information - which I had been extremely transparent about. When confronting senior management about this they said " Nothing we can do, get the pay stubs, pay it or the garnishment continues '' Horrific and unprofessional in every way. I am shocked and disgusted that my own government would give my federal tax dollars to fund contracts with companies that behave in such a predatory, misleading, and inhumane manner. We are paying them - they should be working WITH us to find a solution, not digging people deeper into a hole.

CFPB dumped my complaint regarding XXXX 's complicity with Coast Professional , Inc. I am therefore submitting a complaint about Coast Professional 's misrepresentation regarding compliance with their " rehabilitation plan '' that was supposed to remove the two separate 20 % default penalties tacked on to my balance. ~ $ XXXX of my current student loan balance can be directly related to their deceptive practice and either their refusal to process and release information, or XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX 's refusal to release my information. I'm working my way through the chain of organizations at this point. Coast Professional contacted me in XX/XX/2009 to advise that I was in default, and if I did not pay the balance in full immediately, or if did not make immediate arrangements for refinancing, I would owe the full balance plus the 20 % default fee. I filed for consolidation with Direct Loans, as shown in the attachments. Either Coast Professional and / or XXXX XXXX XXXX intentionally sat on the release of my file and my information to the Department of Education for six months, was given no opportunity to reaffirm the balance of the loan ( which, I was led to believe, was the amount WITHOUT the 20 % default penalty tacked on ), and much to my shock and horror, the 20 % was folded into my refinanced amount. I refused to pay the incorrect amount. The loan fell into default again. Another 20 % was tacked on. AGAIN. Coast Professional Inc. contacted me again, and I refused to budge until I received confirmation in writing that compliance with their instructions would remove the loan from default, and was verbally advised that removing the loan from default would remove the multiple 20 % default penalties tacked on. I complied. The balance was not corrected. No one will help. I'm submitting all my attachments again. Please do not dismiss this as a duplicate claim again.

I attended University XXXX a few years ago. The school was not the right fit for me, so I withdrew. I emailed officials at the school and everything was taken care of. Then I see this amount of about {$5700.00} show up on my credit report as collections months later. I found out they sent my student loans back without telling me, which is illegal. When I withdrew, none of the XXXX clerks mentioned that I would owe that due to loans being sent back. When I called, the director of their financial aid department said " Well we like to tell students in person. ", as if that was a valid excuse for not informing me that money would be returned and I would owe it immediately. She also told me if I would have toughed out the semester with just one class, they would n't have sent the loans back. This is something that they should have told me, this is negligence on their part. Had I known they were going to do this, I would have complied with one class. Also, they let that balance sit in their financial aid department as a balance due for months. They had my phone number, mailing address and email ( which is how I withdrew in the first place ) and no one contacted me. I found out when it showed up on my credit report and I started getting calls to pay the debt. This debt was paid. XXXX sent the loans back without my authorization or at the very least notifying me. Then when the debt had sat in their office, they made no attempts to contact me about payment arrangements. This negligent business practice on their part and their actions are directly affecting my credit report. I 'm trying to buy a new car and eventually a house and I ca n't do that if there is a near {$6000.00} derogatory blemish needing to be paid in full in my credit. I have had this removed from my credit report before and I need it off again. This is ridiculous.

I spoke with XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) at Coast Professionals, Inc. ( XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX ) on XX/XX/XXXX in the morning ( XXXX ). My account number is # XXXX. I indicated that I was disputing all or part of the debt, as the letter they sent me said I needed to do so by XX/XX/XXXX. I indicated that we paid the estimated taxes due at the time and that I was on the phone with the IRS to resolve it. She indicated that I could not dispute the debt without providing supporting documentation. I read her the language on the form that she sent me that indicated I just needed to call/write to dispute. I said I would fax in the form at the bottom of the form saying I dispute the debt but I told her it did not say I needed to provide supporting documentation at that time. She again indicated that I had to provide supporting documentation to dispute. She then indicated that I needed to schedule a follow up phone call. I said that I was not required to do so. She again pushed that I schedule a follow up phone call. I then asked for a copy of our recorded phone call and she indicated that she could not provide a copy of the recorded phone call. She indicated that only the company and the IRS could have access to the phone calls. I asked her for the person giving her this information regarding the documentation and access to the recorded phone calls and she said it was XXXX XXXX ID XXXX. XXXX then gave me her managers name XXXX XXXX. She was going to give me the ID but the call was disconnected on their end. She did not call me back at either of the numbers I provided her. I later called the IRS. They found a payment we made that had not been applied to the taxes that was under my husbands tax payer ID and not mine ( the primary ). The issue with the IRS was resolved and the payment was backdated.

To whom it may concern, I want to file a complaint against both Coast Professional ( Collection Agency on behalf of US Dept. of Edu ) and the US Dept. of Edu. I have been dealing with Coast for several years in regards to my defaulted student loans. Last year we set up a plan where I had to pay {$5.00} a month in order to avoid garnishment. Of course this will never pay it off, but it was something until I can afford more and I did make larger payments when able to. Coast had my bank account and was auto drafting monthly. XX/XX/XXXX was the last payment drafted and its unclear why the discontinued drafting. In XXXX I called the US Dept. of Edu to see if there was an issue. Since I have started school again, I thought maybe the loans were now in forbearance. I was assured my loans were current and I was not in danger of garnishment. On XX/XX/XXXX I received a very low paycheck and saw my wages were garnished. I contacted the dept. of Edu who said everything had to go through Coast. I provided them information the very same day for an AGW hearing request and have been getting the run around from them ever since. Yesterday I called the dept. of Edu and they claim to not have any info about a hearing. Three months this has been going on. I had a XXXX XXXX last year and bought a house. This is putting me in a financial bind and there is literally nothing I can do. Every time I call Coast, they claim to have not received the last paper, but go to the email and Oh there it is! I am a manager ; I assure you this will be sent today. However it never is. This is incredibly frustrating and I am at a loss as to what today. I am happy to make payments but 15 % is not feasible. I have XXXX children in daycare, I can not do this. Please help me resolve this. Thank you. XXXX XXXX ( XXXX on account )

We have tried to work with Coast Professional , Inc. since we received the first notification from them on XX/XX/XXXX. I contacted Coast Professional , Inc. because I had divorced and moved frequently and was trying to locate the information to repay this student loan. Because the amount they wanted me to pay monthly was unrealistic I submitted the Financial Disclosure For Reasonable and Affordable Rehabilitation Payments. Since that time I have spoken to several employees who tell me if I will send this information my payment will be $ XXXXmonth to if I send this information my payment will be XXXX XXXX/month. In XXXX I had XXXX tell me to file paperwork with the US Department of Education and wait to see that they would decide which I did XX/XX/XXXX. I received a letter from the Department of Education giving me a reasonable payment of {$190.00} with garnishment which I would prefer to pay this debt directly, but I can not get Coast Professional , Inc. to agree with this letter even after I resent them the letter and information again. I spoke to XXXX who ask for even more information and then XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX at which time he said the payment would be XXXX XXXX/month which I could afford, but then I received a letter from Coast Professional , Inc. stating I would need to pay {$290.00} for notify them of my objection which I have done. I need for someone to review my account and assist me in coming up with a payment of which I can pay. I am asking for you to investigate Coast Professional , Inc. and how they mishandle their customers and do not try to assist them. They give out fraudulent information even after you comply with everything asked of you. We have all of the documents to support this complaint, but they have confidential information on them. We can provide if requested.

Hello, My name is XXXX XXXX and I have a student loan in the amount of {$27000.00} that is currently in default. I am writing to express my frustration thus far with what has been my personal experience regarding it's handling and explanation of terms from the lenders end. 30 years now after taking out my first loan and I think I finally understand what is going on after speaking with someone who was actually willing to listen and give me helpful advice for once. I see I have been misled and pushed to the side for way too long. Why is that every time I call my lender I get different information to my questions? Why is it that the only consistent solution from my lender is to set my loans on forbearance? Why does no one warn me that the amount of forbearance available for the term of my loan is finite? Why doesnt anyone clearly and plainly explain to me that forbearance continues to rack up interest on my balance? It looks to do nothing more than financially benefit the lender with this kind of approach, which I suppose makes sense considering they are nothing more than a company looking to increase revenue and profits. I feel like I have been cunningly maneuvered into a path of repayment that will never go away. No one ever reached out to me about options that were better suited to my income and profession. The blatant greediness and constant rush to get me off the phone when I call in drives me to think I have been scammed. Consider this a formal complaint as explanation as to why I now demand my loans be reduced or cleared. I have a family to feed while on limited income in the midst of a global health crisis. It should not take 30 years and taxes/wages being garnished and interest-racking forbearance for me to be in a worse-off position than when I first started!

After having my husband 's tax return seized I contacted the department oof education today to find out that my student loans are in default and with a debt collection called Coast Professional Inc whom I've never received any mail or voicemails or emails from. They have had my account for a year and documented that they only sent me one piece of mail almost a year ago. They said they have called my phone but it's against their policy to leave a voicemail message. I have no records of their numbers calling me within in the last few months. I received no notice that our tax return would be seized. I am a XXXX XXXX XXXX mom who XXXX and I have no income and no access to my husband 's income or information. XXXX XXXX XXXX has stated that the only way they will allow me to do the rehabilitation program is to give them very detailed information from what my dental and hospital bills are to my cell phone bills to everything including everything about my husband. This is not his debt, only mine and I will not provide them with any information. I want my loans released from Coast Professional Inc and transferred to XXXX where my other student loans are current, on a repayment program, and I have maintained contract with for months now after completing another rehabilitation program without my husband 's information. When I asked to have my loans released to XXXX they tell me to call the department of education. When I call the department of education they tell me to call Coast. I need help desperately to resolve this issue. I'm very willing to make payments even without having an income but I can not do so if they won't even allow me to sign up for their program.

My federal loans were on an unemployment deferment. The deferment expired while my XXXX XXXX husband was on maneuvers and I was in another state XXXX XXXX to our XXXX child. The loans have now entered into default and I request rehabilitation. But I don't want to ratify the amount Coast demands and I can not agree to any payment plan until I know the precise nature of the charges Coast Professional demands from me. The percentage of interest charged and calculated month over month / year that resulted in the Outstanding Interest amount annotated on the NSLDS. My forbearance letter dated XX/XX/XXXX with deferment start date XX/XX/XXXX ending XX/XX/XXXX indicates the current principal balance as follows : Loan Disbursed Date Current Principal Balance XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX TOTAL XXXX The NSLDS as of XX/XX/XXXX indicates my outstanding principal as follows : Loan Disbursed Outstanding Outstanding Date Amt Principal Balance Interest XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Total XXXX XXXX XXXX The Default Resolution Group indicates my principal amount as : {$60000.00} This debt collector is demanding over {$90000.00}! Over {$13000.00} is listed quite ambiguously as " *Fees and costs ''. I want the debt substantiated with a precise explanation of the amounts demanded. I then want rehabilitation to get my loans back on track and manageable.

I discovered in XXXX , that there was a student loan attributed to me on my credit report. i have never had a loan of any sort. I had contacted th e Dept. of Ed. a nd received a packet that had an verification form to sign and notarize that this was not my loan. I signed it and sent it back, but yet they claim that this is not good enough. i have contact ed Coast Prof. Inc ( debt collector ) s everal times, as reflected in the attached correspondence, to no avail of resolution. i requested the promissory note, and have not received that either. I did my own investigation with the IRS to see if there were any tax records of my employment as I was in XXXX XXXX at the time that this loan was taken out. The loan was for XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX , and I was not there at the time, nor have I ever pursued such an education. The XXXX credit report assigned an address code to that loan that was never an address assigned to me on the same report. The results from the IRS inquiry was inconclusive because ; 1 ) T hey do not keep records for that long, a nd 2 ) my social security number was not returned to my name. Additionally, I am barred from seeking any student loan as I have a felony on my record, the address of my incarceration is also on XXXX the enclosed XXXX report. Coast Prof has repeated refused to respond to me, and has refused to submit documentation to me and insists, without evidence that is my loan. If this issue can not be resolved with the CPFB, I will be forced to seek counsel on this matter and take the issue to court. sincerely, XXXX XXXX

I received a call at work from this collection agency claiming to be attempting to collect a student loan debt about a month ago. I immediately told the representative not to contact me at work and that the amount alleged owed was in dispute. I further requested verification from them in writing of the alleged debt. This was about a month ago. Despite me telling them not to contact me at work they have continued to do so twice, including today ( XX/XX/2018 ) from someone who identified himself as XXXX at approximately XXXX. Central time. In addition when speaking to the receptionist at my work the representatives have given the name of the company as Coast Professional , Inc, which anyone can XXXX and see it a debt collection agency. Perhaps the most egregious thing this agency has done was to send a letter to a general fax number stating that they were requesting employment verification for me. They included my social security number and ask about my income. This letter was left on a general fax machine where anyone could have and did see both my social security number, the agency and their request about my income. This fax was sent at XXXX. central time so the company should have reasonably known that sending a fax with that personal information likely would not have been retrieved until the next morning meaning anyone, including random office cleaning staff would have had access to my social security number. Furthermore I still have not received the verification I requested. I believe that all of these actions are in violation of federal law and was done solely to repeatedly harass me.

On XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted the Department of Education for questions regarding the balance of a wage garnishment I was assigned. I was told the debt is no longer handled by the DOE, and was given the phone number and referred to a company by the name of " Coast Professional, INC '' as they are now responsible for the collection of the debt. I contacted " Coast Professional, INC '' to check the balance with them and was told my remaining debt is a {$12000.00}. Here 's where the issue is, I asked them for the original balance, which is {$12000.00}. As of XX/XX/XXXX, my YTD payments will be {$1600.00}. The garnishment began on XX/XX/XXXX and in that year, {$2400.00} was paid in garnishments, giving a total of {$4000.00}. I spoke to a representative and asked if someone could give me any type of explanation as to where the money taken from me has gone or is going, and at the time he stated that the information was not in front of him, that it could be possibly due to interest and fees, and offered to transfer me to someone who could possibly give me more information. I was placed on hold, hung up on, and my number was blocked from returning a call. I tried several times to redial the number to no avail, then dialed a friend of mine for them to contact them in a three way call and the call went through. The representative that answered looked through the information on my account and saw that there is a discrepancy as well. This representative stated he would get a manager to talk to me about what was going on and was hung up on once again. I believe my funds are being misappropriated.

I have student loans which have been in default but for the past 3 to 4 years the monies have been coming directly out of my paycheck. And when the CARES Act was initiated, the company I work for suspended payment to the company named Coast Professionals. I am trying to move into an apartment and I was denied then I looked at my credit score and it had tanked tremendously. I did file a dispute with XXXX but I was not sure if I should do the same with the other credit bureaus. I was told by Coast that it would look like non-payments because there were no payments made. So I asked what about the CARES Act and was told that it did not apply to defaulted loans. But when looking at your site I read the following. ( From your site ) If your federal student loan is already in default, The CARES Act requires the Department of Education to stop the collection of defaulted federal student loans, including garnishment of wages and the offset of tax refunds and Social Security benefits, through XX/XX/2020. * There is no additional action required from you for your federally- owned loans. For all other defaulted federal loans, contact your loan holder to find out about your options. If you are rehabilitating a defaulted student loan, any missed payments through XX/XX/2020, * due to the coronavirus pandemic will not be considered a missed payment against your rehabilitation. Can you help me in this matter. I just want my credit score to be reflected that the payments are being paid or stopped due to COVID 19. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

In the XX/XX/XXXX I put in for my financial aid and was told everything was ok, only to find out that the financial aid office had messed up mine and several other students aid packages. The mistake left me owing approximately $ XXXX to the university. I started making payments to the university but was a student worker and was living on my own. This added a tremendous amount of XXXX to my life and then the university cut my hours. In the XX/XX/XXXX I stopped college due to the financial issues that I was having with the university. I had given Information about my issue with loan holders online, they told me that they would work with me. About 3-6 months later I found out that XXXX XXXX had my loan, I told them of my financial problems and started making small payments on my loans, then the job that I had cut my hours in half. I then contacted XXXX XXXX to explain my situation and then all of a sudden my loan is in the hands of Coast Professional Inc, and during the transfer they are charging an addition approximately {$8800.00} penalties and interest. It upsets me that my student loan went from about $ XXXX to now $ XXXX in less than 2 years. Now I finally started a decent job that I can afford to start paying on the loans again but I do n't like the fact that nearly $ XXXX was tacked onto my account. I was honest about my lack of ability to pay during a XXXX period of my life and feel that I ' ve been gouged by all the interest and penalties added to my account. Please let me know if I have a way to get a fair loan with more reasonable lenders.

Received letter from US Department of Treasury Fiscal Services today XX/XX/19 that my refund was applied to a debt to US Department of Education ( XXXX ) XXXX. I called the Department of Education and spoke to 2 agents and both stated that the agency did not withold my refund. I called the US Department of Treasury Fiscal Services and the number was an automated line ( XXXX ) XXXX and it stated to call ( XXXX ) XXXX Coast Professional Inc. in regards to the money. I called and spoke to an agent named XXXX who was very rude and spoke in a harsh tone to me and told me that she could not tell me anything about the reason why my money was taken and told me to call ( XXXX ) XXXX. Then hangs up on me. I called the number but the female agent that answered told me that it was the wrong department and for me to call Coast Professional Inc. I told her I just got off the phone with them and spoke to a XXXX and was told by her to call this number. I then asked for the Supervisor and he came on, named XXXX and he said he couldn't tell me anything about why my money from my tax refund was withheld. Then I hung up and now I am filing this complaint. They took {$7600.00} and are refusing to tell me why. In addition, the letter from the Fiscal Services states, " Before sending a debt to Fiscal Service, an agency must send notice to you. '' My husband and I never received a notice from Coast Professional Inc. about any debt nor about our tax refund getting garnished prior to the letter received today XX/XX/19. This should not be allowed and this is theft.

Someone applied for a pell grant in my name and social but at a different address and with my first name misspelled. They defaulted on the Pell grant but collected the money that was sent to their address. I was contacted by the Department of Education saying that I owed this money. I told them that I did not sign for this grant and did not attend XXXX XXXX College, this was not my debt. I had already gotten my XXXX degree 15 years ago. They started to garnish my wages anyways. I filled Police Reports, FTC Complaints, Notified the Credit Reporting Agencies and Placed Extended Fraud Alerts, Disputed Information, Notified the Department of Education, the College, and the Collection Agency and Filed Paperwork with the Department of Education. The Department of Education has rejected my claims and said that this is my debt and continues to garnish my wages. They said that they will not stop unless I get a court judgement. I can not get a court judgement when I do not know who the person is that stole my identity. I have called several places but every where is a dead end, no one can seem to help me. Every one says that if it was a student loan then it would be a different story and then they could help me, but since it is a Federal Pell grant, there is nothing that they can do. The Department of Education is Rude and MEAN to me, they treat me like a criminal and will not offer me any help. I am not the criminal, I am the VICTIM. I need help. I need to know how to stop the garnishment, get my money back, and clear my name. Please help me.

I had a government loan for school ( several ) one of which they were trying to collect for a school that I did not attend and they did not have a signed promissory note for. I consolidated my loans in XX/XX/2016 and they were paid by XXXX. then they decided to take the loan out of consolidation and send it to collections. The federal student loan informed me via phone that they are aware of their mistake and that they would fix it as soon as possible. they even sent me a letter that states that i was not in default and that i did not owe them money. This was also needed as i was purchasing a home and would have an FHA loan. they corrected it. Only then to reverse it and put it back to collections again and then they also proceeded to garnish my wages ( to date in the amount of {$4000.00} ) and still reported to the credit bureau that I was in default. XXXX confirmed that they have already paid that debt. the federal student loan also refunded me 2 checks of refund that they have garnished from me ( the first 2 payments ). They keep telling me that they are " sorry for the inconvenience '' but as of today if they don't correct this issue my Home loan company is threatening to reverse the loan as it is a government loan and they do not approve people who are in default on another government loan. I NEED HELP TO FIX THIS ISSUE STAT. this has been months and months of a nightmare. also when i asked for the promissory note for the school that I did not attend they mailed me a copy with my name typed in the signature box.

Coast professional via phone set up a series of XXXX payments of XXXX monthly for a delinquent federal loan as a representative of the dept of education. After the XXXX payment they have continued to demand mandatory official proof of my monthly salary via my workplace HR and all paperwork showing other financial aid payments as well. Given this demand as I had yet to provide it they said I could not be in their repayment program. ( I TAKE IT THIS MEANS A MUCH LONGER OR NO TURNOVER TO THE DEPT OF EDUCATION? ). I have asked twice for a written copy of this " policy '' and was denied as they supposedly ca n't send the contract out to me without knowing essentially my official gross bank incoming and outgoing cash. Her responses made no logical sense so my red flags went up. ( they also asked me details of my monthly spending - a backdoor approach to knowing my bank account ). I 'm still not sure why this is the case, but no debt XXXX prior to this have demanded this mandatory portion of the arrangement. Questions : XXXX. Is this official paperwork mandatory for me to supply to secure my loans being sent back to the dept of education? XXXX. If this is not mandatory, the agreed on amount and XXXX payments duration - is this legal to hold me in limbo past this agreed on time period? XXXX. In addendum to this not associated with this debt collector, is it legal and mandatory once a payment has been established to tack on administrative fees or a penalty fee beyond the agreed sum?

XXXX,XXXXXXXX I contacted Coast Professionals about my student loans that are currently in collections. I spoke with XXXX XXXX and explained that I plan to file bankruptcy XX/XX/2018 however, my student loans would not be included. I asked what my options were at this time to which we discussed loan rehabilitation. I questioned if I needed to wait until after my bankruptcy but I was told it would be best to start the process now. So I paid {$5.00} to get started and called back at XXXXXXXX and spoke with XXXX to fill out the forms and fax them over with my financial information. I was told I also would need to call in today, XX/XX/2018, to make another payment by doing so I would be 2 months already into the program. I called today, XX/XX/2018 at XXXXXXXX and spoke with a woman to make the {$5.00} payment. After I made the payment and asked questions about the status of consolidated loans and individual loans, the woman explained to me that when I fail bankruptcy all the collection activity would stop. I asked her I I had to instead call in to make a payment and she told me that I could not do that while in bankruptcy which would mean I would fail the loan rehabilitation program and would not be able to reapply. I explained to her that I explained my intentions and bankruptcy XX/XX/2018 so why would they tell me it was best to do everything knowing I would fail. Very misleading and dishonest behavior when someone is attempting to fix their financial situation.

After I was wage garnished by Coast Professional INC on XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter from Federal Student Aid. Within this correspondence the statement, " Education loans included in bankruptcy petitions filed on or after XX/XX/XXXX, can not be discharged in bankruptcy unless the court finds that repayment would impose undue hardship ... .. ''. Then I realized that I didnt owe the loan. Being ignorant of the bankruptcy law at the time I filed for financial relief from the court I didn't have a great understanding, nevertheless, the petition was granted. I listed the US Department of Education as creditors. This creditor was the main reason I petition for relief. This case was filed on XX/XX/XXXX. It can to term on XX/XX/XXXX. The case is # XXXX XXXX. My Attorney was XXXX XXXX. Because I really didn't knew the law and total depended on my attorney because I was stressed in my state of mind. Because I didn't ask the important questions I thought I still owe the U S Department of Education and because they stated through communications that I did. I was know as XXXX XXXX at the time of the loan in XXXX. When I default I filed for bankruptcy in XXXX under this name. In early XXXX 's I got a judgement against me despite the bankruptcy. Tax refund off-set for decades were levied against me. The US Department of education didn't recognize my bankruptcy when it was within the law at the time pertaining to discharging student loans in bankruptcy.

XX/XX/XXXX, Coast Professional llc sent my employer a US government wage garnishment order. I responded with a copy of my list of schedules in which they were included on XX/XX/XXXX. This company has instructed the payroll associate at my place of employment to mail the payments to the National payment center for the department of education, not XXXX XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX was contacted by me per the Department of Education, who did not notify me that they were taking XXXX XXXXXXXX of my federal taxes, nor did they notify the IRS, and the Department of Treasury who told me that the Department of Education does not have to notify me yet I have proof of my discharged debts that have been forwarded to them and a letter from the Department of Education stating that no delinquent account could be found with my name or social security number. yet, there are no records of any of my money, my wages are being garnished by a collection agency that has been included within my bankruptcy and, neither the Department of Education of XXXX XXXX will give me any answers or answer inquiries about my money. The Department of Treasury has not investigated my social security number or the companies involved in my bankruptcy. Between the years of XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX, the college I attended ( XXXX University ) offered a direct private student loan to bridge the tuition gap that my Federal Student Loans did not cover. After XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX, I was suprised when I received a letter in the mail that the private student loan portion was due immediately, instead of the usual 6 months until AFTER XXXX. I was unable to pay as I was unemployed for nearly a year after XXXX. By the time I eventually did get employement and had the ability to pay, it was too late - the school had sold the debt to a third party collection agency, damaging my credit. The main problem is I have received minimal to NO communication from this third party collection agency other than a single notice in the mail that the entire balance was due. I reached out to my school directly if I could come to an agreement with them, but they simply told me there is nothing else they can do and I have to deal now with the third party collector instead. Now I don't know who currently owns this private student loan debt as I have not received any communication on it for almost 2 years and don't know who to reach out to, and the school offers no additional help. This account is still on my credit report as a derogatory and has prevented me from being able to request any kind of credit, even things as simple as a credit line increase, much less a loan for a dependable car.

My complaint is against Coast Professional , Inc. whom is handling a collection on behalf of XXXX University whom I owe a student loan balance with. I originally contacted them on XXXX/XXXX/16 in the late afternoon and left a message at XXXX with no call back. My second call to them was on XXXX/XXXX/16 at XXXX and I spoke with a XXXX XXXX and I told him that I could afford to pay {$60.00} dollars a month starting on the XXXX of each month. Unfortunately there was a problem with my debit card, so on the XXXX of XXXX the payment was rejected by my bank and it was about a few days after that I my bank had notified me that they had n't process that automatic debit, so on XXXX I called and spoke with a XXXX at XXXX and told him that I would n't be able to do the automatic payment and to cancel it and instead I would be mailing my payments to them. I have made payments on XXXX/XXXX/16 credit card payment, XXXX/XXXX/16, XXXX/XXXX/16 and mailed another {$60.00} payment on XXXX/XXXX/16. Yet on XXXX/XXXX/16 they reported me to XXXX and I 'm wondering why they have done this since I have been paying the agreed upon amount and they have willing accepted my payments. I want that collection taken off my credit report. Also, I have never ever received a call from them nor have they bothered to send me any type of bill within the last two months as to what my current balance is at this time.

I sent a request in for a hearing ( on XX/XX/XXXX ) in a timely manner but the Department of Education never gave me a date for my hearing. In early XX/XX/XXXX I noticed that my student loans were in default, of course I wonder how since I hadn't even had my hearing. I decided to contact the Department of Education to let them know that I never received a letter regarding a date for my hearing and I was informed that I needed to contact the collection agency which was Coast Professional, Inc. I contacted Coast Professional, Inc. regarding the matter and they directed me back to the Dept. of Education. Again I called the Dept. of Education and they redirected me back to the collection agency. This time when I called the collection agency back, I asked to speak with a supervisor. A supervisor at the collection agency, pulled my file and confirmed that the Dept. of Education did receive my request for hearing in a timely manner but he's not sure why they never gave me a date for my hearing. The supervisor at the collection agency informed me that there was nothing they could do that I'd have to take it up with the Dept. of Education. I'm looking to consolidate my student loans and get out of default, which I shouldn't be in in the first place, and obtain a payment that I can afford. I've recently just found out about this site this is why I'm just now submitting my complaint.

an agreement was made to repay my son 's college loans, since then i had to retire and lost more than half my income, i have filled out paperwork three times. I have not been late or missed a payment, and since then they have more than raised the amount by more than double, i wrote them, with a payment explaining i could not pay any more at this time due to loss of income plus i need tires, i have no oven to cook on and my water heater needs to be replaced, the young man was kind enough to re-evaluate my situation and lowered my minimum payment to five dollars a month. I told him i would continue to pay the fifty dollars as i had been. since that time they start calling me as early as XXXX and after XXXX, i have told them arrangements have been made, but each person seems to feel they need to hash it all out again and again, as of yesterday, XXXX XXXX they called me four times, twice on my house phone and twice on the cell my son gave me for emergencies, EVERY time they let it ring one time then hang up. This morning when the phone rang i answered by saying, hello, then i counted to 3 before they hung up. Coast Professional, XXXX, LA contacted me by mail. Late XXXX, 2017. They back-dated the letter, and every one since. I have seen/heard nothing about this in 12 yrs. Now - big hurry, garnishment & more threatened ( in cloaked language ) and they are railroading me. Blizzard of mail. From FSA too ; a gov't agency! Now : they failed to send a LEGIBLE copy of the Note. They both mis-represented, grossly, my right to dispute ; and seem not to want to allow me to do so. Coast & FSA too omits to tell me of options that I may/do have - and send me the wrong dispute form. They ignore my questions ( few & germane ). Wo n't give me time to dispute, in essence. Treading on my rights. They under-credited me for payments made ( I have documentation ). They allege an inflated total, therefore. They both say they can get a 20 % commission, by law, to collect. In fact the maximum is 18 % - yet they state I " will be required to pay 20 % '' to them. Over {$5000.00} - motivation for them to press me hard and in short time frame. My supporting documents are ( 1 ) I ca n't transmit them online from this terminal I have no USB camera/phone ( 2 ) some are in storage 300 miles away ( 3 ) my letters in response to theirs - same as ( 1 ) above. Snail mail seems to be my only choice, so far. Any suggestions? XXXX go ahead & email me. Nothing to hide here.

I am currently in student loan rehabilitation program, and have made2 payments in XXXX, and1 payment for each month there-after, for a total of 6 on-time payments. According to my calculations I have no more than 4 more payments left to fulfill my student loan rehabilitation agreement. In XXXX I had an income change, from $XXXX per year to $XXXX per year. I contacted both US Dept of Education, and Coast Professional Inc, the servicer of my loan, and was told to complete a new financial disclosure form. I submitted all documents asked for. I recieved a new payment amount of 5 times higher than previous amount and was told that all previous payments I have made are now NULL and VOID and that my repayment schedule would start ALL OVER AGAIN for another 9 month period> When I spoke to manager XXXX XXXX I told him that even the contract they sent me clearly states PAYMENTS BEGINNING- X/2017. I believe this is ILLEGAL,and I can find no legal written documentation to support what they are trying to do.1) my payment amount increased almost 5X from $XXXX to $XXXXeven though my income only increased $XXXX per year2) they are trying to start my contract all over again, despite the fact I have already made 6 payments, and only have 4 more left. The contract sent to me also READS "PAYMENT PERIOD FROM X/17" This is a breach of contract.

I am a XXXX alumni of class of XXXX, In spring of XXXX ( XX/XX/XXXX ) I was contacted via phone call by a financial aid administrator from UC XXXX to consolidate my student loans and initiated an Income Driven Repayment plan. In XX/XX/XXXX I receive a single letter and collection agency notice from a debt collector, Coast Professional Inc for an account from XXXX XXXX. Given that I had not received any calls or other notifications I quickly believed that it was a spam letter or scam. I called the agency and did not get my calls attended or my voicemails. I later received a call from the agency that the case had been dropped. However I received quite the scare that I could have been in a situation of defaulting on my loans and dealing with a collection agency. There should have been greater communication on behalf of XXXX XXXX on the course of action they planned to take prior to having the collect agency writing me a letter. Also as a recent college graduate I have no familiarity with my rights and the actions universities take with student loans. Two years later I am a little more familiar with managing my student loans but feel a heavy distrust with my university and loan providers. No one should ever have to find themselves with a single threatening letter and the uncertainty if it is a scam or true practice.

I contacted the company listed on my credit report as owning my student loan debt. I was incarcerated for 6 years and a power of attorney did or didnt properly handle some of my obligations, which ones and how they were handled I can not know. So I requested a detailed letter stating that I do owe the debt, payment history, and amount owed. I was told I couldnt be given this information due to privacy concerns. I was then advised to dispute the debt if Coast XXXX couldnt or refused to prove there was an outstanding debt and for how much. I disputed the debt and it was resolved in that nothing changed in my credit report. So I again contacted Coast XXXX and asked for the previously requested information. I gave them my address and general contact information and was told they would mail me the information. This was multiple weeks to a month ago and I havent received the information. I feel I have a right to see information about the debt, that it is mine, that I owe on it, that it has or hasnt been partially, fully, or not at all paid. Can I be expected to start payments on something I cant see the details of and have only been explained over the phone? I am unsure. But I am also legitimately unsure how this was felt with by my power of attorney and therefore feel a need to verify the debt.

In XX/XX/2019, I contacted Coast Professional , Inc. and asked to verify the completion date for Loan Rehabilitation Program. Cost Representative stated, " Your loan will be considered rehabilitated in XX/XX/2019 ( i.e., ninth on time payment ) ''. However, I was told to resubmit financial data to re-certify payment amount. Coast Professional received my Package on XXXX XX/XX/2019 and increased my payment from XXXX to XXXX per month. I was not given the opportunity to appeal this process nor was I given an exact date, which the new amount would be in effect. I continued paying my loan at the XXXX amount, until payment data was updated via Department of Education website ( www.myeddebt.ed.gov ). This occurred in XX/XX/2019, albeit Coast Professional , Inc. did not notify me in writing of required payment increase due date. In 2019 alone, I have successfully submitted ten on time payments and forfeited XXXX of Tax refunds via Treasury Offset Program. Despite this stellar accomplishment, coast Professional, Inc. Representatives refuses to transfer my Loan out of Default status. Coast Professional , Inc. is a Government Contractor and collects a monthly fee for every loan in their portfolio. Hence, it is profitable for Coast to maintain a grip on XXXX XXXX student loan debt.

I have been getting garnished since XX/XX/XXXX. Under the Cares Act, the garnishment was to stop XX/XX/XXXX & a refund should have been given if anything was garnished after that date. Thats a total of {$2300.00} through the duration of the Cares Act & executive ordered extension. I made several unsuccessful attempts to contact the loan servicer, Coast Professional Inc., and filed a complaint on their website on XX/XX/XXXX & received a letter from them XXXX XXXX overnight on XX/XX/XXXX stating I was eligible for the garnishment hold under the Cares act and would be notifying my employer & would receive a refund of garnishments taken since XX/XX/XXXX. I spoke with my HR department today and finally received confirmation of the hold ( after I emailed them the letter I received ) but still unable to get any info on when Coastal or the Department of Education will or how they will issue the refund.

In XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted my HR Dept due to I noticed that my paycheck was being garnished. I assumed it was for back taxes but later found out it was for a student loan. The garnishment came from a collection agency Coast Professional Inc.through the US Dept of Ed. The garnishment started XX/XX/XXXX. I called Coast Professional, and talk to XXXX who said that it was strange that there was no information on the file about the school and that it shows my name listed as XXXX XXXX. She suggested that I send proof of the last school that I attended and any addresses to support that this was not my account because I told her that it was fraud. I received a letter from Coast Professional XX/XX/XXXX stating that a student loan was in default and I had 30 days to dispute the validity of the debt. There was no information of the school or time frame as to which I allegedly attended this school under the name of XXXX XXXX. I have not attended any school since XXXX. I searched and contacted the last school that I attended, the State of Illinois Board of Ed sent me what they had, since the school close due to losing it accreditation. The last name XXXX is my ex married name, I have never attended any school using the name XXXX XXXX or any formation of such name.

I call every 6 months to re-establish my payment arrangement with Coast Professional due to my account being in default. Despite making payments over the past 2 years, I remain in default because Im not willing to give them my husbands financial information, as this loan has nothing to do with him. I also can not afford what they think I am able to afford based on verbal income and expense amounts. I have paid $ XXXX every month for the past 2 years. I have never had a problem setting up my payment arrangement in the past. I typically call, tell them what I need, and they take care of it. Until this time. I have called THREE times and have spent 1.5 hours on the phone just to get absolutely nowhere. IM JUST TRYING TO PAY THEM! During the most recent phone call to them on Friday, I was transferred to a supervisor who proceeded to argue with me about what I can and cant afford. He refused to do anything at all for me because I opted to not give my address. He threatened to tell the federal government that I am refusing to give my address. He further threatened to offset my taxes if I did not get into an approved payment plan. Despite my paying them. He told me that I would get absolutely nowhere making the payments that I can afford making.

I am in the rehab program with Coast professional. I just completed a rehab program with XXXX who took out payments via ACH. Coast however was drafting payments off my debit card. A couple months ago I replaced the lost debit card causing me to miss two payments within the rehab program barely catching it before 90 days. I had the money in there but received no call, email, or letter letting me know a payment was missed. Apparently they did not have my apartment number on file. I suppose I should be grateful that I was allowed to make a payment and continue the program. They told me that if I had not called within the next 3 days I would of had to restart the whole program from scratch and lose all my payments. I had made 4 payments before this happened, however they said because I missed two payments they were taking two payments away. So the payment that should have been my fifth was counted as my third. Essentially they pocketed a little under {$400.00} ( 2 payments ) of my money and extended out the length of the program a couple of months. This just does n't make sense to me. Especially since I made two payments at once to get through the program faster and you are allowed to miss one payment during the program.

I received a letter from a company called Coast Professional Inc, claiming to be a servicer for the U.S Department of Education. The letter stated that they intend to have my wage garnish because I had not call them to make a payment plan. I found that weird because I had made a {$200.00} payment 2 weeks before on https : //myeddebt.ed.gov which is where I have made all my payments for the past 3+ years. So I called them up trying to figure out the situation. I was not able to get them on the phone for 2 days. Every time i called i was on the line for over 10 minutes and no one picked up. On XX/XX/2019 at around XXXX XXXX someone finally picked up the phone after 5 minute waiting. Their representative made me aware that the call is being recorded, so i decided to record the call as well on my end and made her aware of it. Then she told me that i did not have permission to record the call. I asked her why was it ok for her company to record the call while I was not allowed. She put me on old to speak to her manager and came back to tell me that it was their company policy and hang up on me. I was not able to get someone on the phone after that. I attached the recorded call with this, the conversation starts at XXXX.

I have been paying Coast Professional INC {$100.00} a month for 7 years. Every 6 months they call me to get my authorization to continue to collect the $ XXXX monthly. When they called me two months ago in XX/XX/2019 I gave them my authorization but they needed me to repeat my checking account info of which they already had. I told them that if they called me when I got off at 6 I would provide them with it but they never called. I called them twice in the last two month with no call back from them. This past Friday XX/XX/19 they garnished {$300.00} with a total of {$600.00} per month although I was never in default with them and have paid on time every single month. I attempted reaching out to them XX/XX/19, XX/XX/19 and XX/XX/19 but was put on hold for 20 minutes then transferred to their voicemail. I have been in good standing and would like Coast Professional to do what it right, take ownership that they did not call back and let me continue to pay my student loans appropriately. I would also like to state that my balance has remained the same ( {$17000.00} ) for the entire deration of my time paying them. How can a persons loan never go down if they are paying {$100.00} every month?

I received a phone call from " coast professional '' at my place of employment. The person on the phone asked if I was ( my name ). After I said " yes, '' she then asked me to give her either my phone number, address, or last XXXX digits of my social. I became very uncomfortable & asked her what this call was about. She refused to tell me until I gave her XXXX of the XXXX bits of information. At that point, I looked up the company online & saw that she was calling on behalf of a debt collection agency. So, I asked her if her call was regarding a debt collection. She said she could not tell me that information, but offered to let me speak with a supervisor. The supervisor then asked me to provide XXXX of the XXXX pieces of information. He also refused to tell me if the call was in regard to a debt collection. Although I was very nervous to give him any information, I did. The supervisor then told me I was n't the person they were looking for. Anyway, my belief is that this was a fishing expedition. As soon as I said I was the name they were looking for, the company was required, under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, to identify themselves as debt collectors. They did not.

On or about XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter from Coast Professional Inc. in regards to a student loan debt and the letter was dated XX/XX/XXXX but the return address was California ( even though their communication address is in XXXX XXXX, LA it came from California my guess is so they can XXXX people over ) I sent them a letter requesting VALIDATION because the DOE is already taking 15 % of my XXXX each month plus the DOE has taken thousands of dollars and these people are saying I owe them {$35000.00}. When the original amount was about {$20000.00}. In XXXX Coast Professional contacted me and sent someone elses Name, SS #, address, DOB and other information to me and once I complained to the DOE it was dropped so now Im skeptical that they are trying to pull one over on me. But if they are truly collectors for the DOE why dont they know that Im XXXX and the DOE is collecting my XXXX? Today I received another letter dated XX/XX/XXXX threatening me with everything that has already been done to me so they waited 1 week after the first letter to send another harassment letter! On or about XX/XX/XXXX I sent them a cease and desist letter to stop all contact.

Coast Professional again has sent a letter dated XX/XX/2020 demanding an alleged debt to be paid. I have filed several complaints with the CFPB and XXXX, requesting Coast Professional contact the XXXX XXXX police department to get more detailed information as the debt they are claiming is a direct result of identity theft and fraud. XXXX XXXX XXXX college failed to contact the local police department as well, as I never received any form of payments nor requested funds from XXXX. If there was any debt in my name it was due to fraud. I have sent Coast professional police reports to understand the situation I gone through. I am seeking immediate cease and desist of all contact and removal of this debt from my name. If you haven't completed a detailed investigation by contacting the police department retrieving police reports then you as a company haven't done your job under the FDCPA. This is a willful and direct violation. Im attaching another detailed report that list accounts compromised and stolen and used without my permission. Coast Professional XXXX has my student loan debt and I've been trying to work with them to get a payment plan set up. It's been 3 months now and I've been paying them yet nothing is reflecting. They call me - 1. They don't tell me who they are 2. They ask me to verify my social security and birthday. When I refuse they refuse to tell me who they are. Once I've verified my SS and Birth date, which I am uncomfortable with it. They keep telling me there are missing documents or something wasn't signed. I've looked at everything I sent them, I spoke to a lady named XXXX and we went over EVERY single form to make sure it was good. But every 2 weeks they call and demand more and try to tell me my payments are counting towards my balance. I am being harassed about it and I feel like the money I am paying, is being pocketed. - Attached is the document ( 1 of many ) that I agreed to pay but they called and said they didn't receive it ( yet XXXX said she did and that everything looked fine. This was back in XX/XX/XXXX. It's XX/XX/XXXXnow and they have been taking the {$25.00} from my bank account as I agreed, but it's reflecting nothing on my balance? )

I am trying to get out of default on my student loans. I had a Stafford Direct Loan, but I am now dealing with Coast Professional Inc. The person I talked to on the phone said that due to my unemployment, I can send {$5.00} every month for nine payments to get out of default. I receive XXXX income before I am unable to work, because I have to give my XXXX mom 24 hour care. I sent a letter from my mom 's doctor confirming this to Coast Professional. I filled out the paperwork and have sent the monthly payments as required. Now, they are calling constantly, saying my request was denied ( I never received any paperwork on being denied ) and they are now demanding more money and my Food Stamp information and said that my food stamps could be claimed as income. According to the Food Assistance program website, it states that food stamps is not to be considered income or legal tender. I am afraid that Coast Prof is trying to take away my food stamps. My food stamps is the only way I am able to feed my elderly mother and myself. How is this legal? They are still calling and harrassing me, despite the {$5.00} money order I send them.

My student loans are in default and require rehab. I contacted my creditor, Coast Professional, in hopes to make arrangement to start the rehab process. Over the phone I was originally quoted a payment amount of {$80.00}. This conversation included everything about my financial situation. After submitting my paperwork the payment amount I was later quoted was {$250.00} which was waaaaay out of my ability to pay. I offered to make the max payment amount I could of {$100.00} and they would not accept it under the rehab program. Told me that I could make the payment but it would not change how they reported to the credit bureau and I would still be at risk for treasury offset. I explained to them that I live in XXXX XXXX and the cost of living is VERY high, plus I am a single mother of XXXX with no additional financial help and have some children in daycare. They patiently listened but offered not additional options. I am fully aware that I have created this situation for myself but I want to make it right and I want to be given the opportunity to do so. I do n't know where else to turn. Please Help

My paychecks are garnished by Coast Professional ( XXXX ). It has been impossible to obtain any loan information from them. It has made it impossible to even know what my outstanding balances are, to make any additional payments, or negotiate a repayment option. It has been almost three years of my paycheck being garnished with no real correspondence. I would like to know what my balances are and to rectify the garnishment. Since it has been almost 3 years, I am pushing harder for a loan breakdown. XX/XX/XXXX- I emailed the agency : Coast Professional asking for loan information. I received an email read receipt on XX/XX/XXXX by ( XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) and again on XX/XX/XXXX by XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ). No one has contacted me or provided any requested information. XX/XX/XXXX- I contacted them on - trying to see about repayment options and received no response. XX/XX/XXXX- tried to obtain itemized list of loans, balances, and pay-off amounts. I contacted them quite a few times and tried various govt contacts to try and receive intervention/assistance. XX/XX/XXXX- received Wage Garnish form

Around XX/XX/2020 I contacted my employer to see if the stoppage of my student loan wage garnishment would be reflected on my XX/XX/XXXX paycheck. Employer stated they had not received any notification from the loan holder that the wage garnishment was supposed to be stopped. My employer suggested I contact the loan servicer to see if I can get something emailed to me and if so to email it to the employer. I contacted Coast Professional Inc and asked about a letter that will stop the wage garnishment on my pay due to the CARES act signed on XX/XX/2020. My loan servicer stated that the US Department of Education is the one who is supposed to send out a letter to my employer. So far I have continued to receive these wage garnishments even after US Department of Education put a 60 day hold on the wage garnishments and 0 interest and after the CARES act went into affect. I have not been able to find out how to get a copy of this letter and expedite the process to my employer. I also want to know what the process is for receiving a refund of those wages that have now been unlawfully garnished.

I have been receiving calls from XXXX XXXX XXXX over a debt from 2010 and the calls have escalated to the point of harassment. On XX/XX/XXXX a representative from Coast called to inquire if I was home, she then informed me that there was someone on their way to my home to serve court lawsuit documents. There was an overt threat of litigation and possible arrest, later in the day, if I did not pay at that moment over the phone. The debt in question is for student loan funds which were disbursed for the full semester, while I only attended Spring 1 instead of Spring 1 and 2. The disputed funds are for Spring 2 session and the amount is {$1300.00} which I had negated in good faith to pay but the collection agency has assessed fictitious interest fees that have more than doubled the original amount and will not negotiate on. I am distressed the by inexplicable attempt to double my debt and I am even more distressed by the aggressive, illegal collection tactics of threatening me with arrest and court action. Please advise on the best course of action for this situation. Thank you.

One of my 4 Parent loans went into collections without my knowledge. I thought that they were all on deferral. I've been trying to work with Coast Professional , Inc to get a reasonable payment plan. The only response I ever got was that they were unable to locate my account. Although they have failed to cooperate in any way, I continued making payments of whatever I could afford. I recently sent them a letter asking to negotiate the amount down to {$2500.00}. They accepted the {$2500.00} as payment in full. Now, even though they cashed the check with PAID IN FULL written all over the front AND back, they state that they will continue collections activities. This NEGATIVE item remians on my credit reports SEVERAL TIMES. Each one with a different status. Collection, Charge off, Transferred, closed. They are all the same loan. Other than this one item on my credit report, I have NEVER had a late payment and they have ruined my credit. I have continuously requested removal from all three agencies. It comes off and a month or two later, it's right back on.

However COAST PROFESSIONAL have yet to remove it. tried contacting this company but have been getting the run around and told different things. They said that they cant get me any info as to whether they have contacted the credit bureaus or not. They stated that they were indeed contacted by the school, but need to verify more info. Im not sure what more they need to verify if the school gave them the info that they need to have it taken off of my credit files. They also said that the account is closed with them but yet to remove the info off of my report.

My student loan is in default and I have been trying to get a income sensitive loan rehabilitation agreement with the loan servicer since XXXX of last year. All of my application and documents are complete. Their apparent unwillingness stems from the fact that they want me to pick up the phone and discuss a payment plan. I have stated numerous times that I will not do this. All of my transactions have been written and sent via certified return receipt mail. My income is negligible, my legal payment will be much less than what they want to illegally coerce by telephone conversation which can not be proven. I have given them multiple chances and 30 day waiting periods between correspondence. The loan servicer does not respond unless forced to- I have a sizeable packet with copies of all written correspondence, documents, and mail receipts, for inspection as necessary. The loan servicer is Coast Professional in XXXX, LA. They are refusing to send me a written payment agreement contract for income sensitive loan rehabilitation.

In XXXX of 2018 I was contacted by the debt collectors, Coast Proffessional Inc, about a payment arrangement to settle my defaulted student loan. I agreed to the terms and the payment plan which was {$37.00} a month and they would stop my paycheck garnishment and get my loan out of default. Despite our agreement Coast Proffesionals Inc took my Federal income taxes of {$4300.00} even with me paying my {$37.00} a month as we agreed. I am a single mom who has lost her job as of XX/XX/2018. I have no other way of supporting myself and my child. I called Coast Proffessional Inc and discussed this with a manager. He let me know that I should have received a notice that this would happen but with me telling him I never received such notice, all he could do was be rude and repeat that I was still in default even though I am on a payment plan. As I stated above, I am a single mother with no income. My daughter is still in diapers, needs food and is starting school soon. It is not fair to leave us stuck in this bind without notice.

He apologized and insured me he would stop garnishing process and submit the paper for it. He said it would only stop for 30 days and to call back and speak with rep to set up payment plans. He took my current address and said letters would go out. I still have not received any letters but they have taken my tax refund without notice to. On XX/XX/XXXX, there was a collection account opened at collection company named COAST PROFESSIONAL with the amount of {$3000.00}. I was not sure what was this bill about as it stated that the original creditor was from my XXXX school that I graduated in XX/XX/XXXX. I also gave birth to my child around the same time and did not react to the letter in a timely manner. I immediately paid my bill off of the amount {$3000.00} after knowing that the letter was sent to me correctly.

After getting the dispute results back, it was updated on the collection account as " Paid collection. '' This is inaccurate as I paid the debt to the original creditor. I 've disputed this account many times & I keep getting the same results. After disputing again, Coast Professional responded and CONFIRMED that I paid the original creditor and not them. I will attach that document to this complaint. I have never done business with Coast Professional. I have never heard of them until they were on my credit report. I have been disputing this inaccurate collection account reporting on my credit for almost 2 years. Remove it now.

Currently, I have a loan that has bounced around between a few companies. It was originally with the US through FAFSA. I called and talked to someone on the phone who gave me very limited options. Forbearance and deferment were out of the question. I'm trying to go back to college. Eventually, we reached a settlement, that if I could pay off the debt I would be out of default and be able to go back to college. However, I am unable to pay off the debt in that amount of time and will be unable to attend college again in the summer if I can't somehow get out of default. Forbearance would get me out of default temporarily but wouldn't be enough to attend college and get a degree. If I could do deferment, then I could attend college again. My credit will still be shot but I can move forward in life and better my life with the hopes of getting a higher-paying career that will be able to pay back the debt later.

Coast Professional , Inc is a debt collector. In late XXXX they falsely reported a debt on my credit report. It took me over 12 months to get Coast Professional , Inc to deleted the debt from the 3 credit bureaus. They finally took it off when I involved the State of Arizona, Department of Financial Institutions and the Arizona Attorney General. On XXXX/XXXX/XXXX they responded to the State of Arizona, Department of Financial Institutions and on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX they responded to the Office of the Arizona Attorney General that on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX they requested all credit reporting bureaus to update and remove the reported information by Coast. However, their inquires still remain. I have again started the process for them to rectify their mistake and removing any/all inquiries yet I have gotten nowhere and now for the past 12 months I have continued to use my time rectifying Coast Professionals mistake.

Yesterday I received a wage attachment/Garnishment from The department of education via debt collector Coast Professional Inc. They are about to seize 25 % of my disposable income from my check. The money is said to be {$78000.00} loan of which I have never seen or heard of. It does not tell me dates of the loan, who the original provider was nor what school the loans are from. When I check my loans on federal student aid website, none of this matches what they are attempting. When I check my credit report, I havent noticed anything like this either. I have called the numbers listed both yesterday and today and havent gotten through. I do not know how a company can just take money from your check without attempting to reach you or discuss payments first. I already have garnishments regarding family and simply can not afford something else taken out without my consent.

On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a past due notice in the amount of {$1600.00} from XXXX XXXX XXXX University for past due charges on my student account. I paid these charges directly to the university, the original creditor, on XX/XX/XXXX. After I had paid the debt, I received a collections notice from Coast Professional Inc. ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, NY XXXX ) for the account in collections. Coast Professional ceased any further collection on the debt but has refused to remove the collection account from my credit report. They had no involvement in the transactional process with the original creditor nor at any time prior to the debt being paid did I have any communication with their agency. Their posting of this collection to my credit report is fraudulent and they have refused to delete the account despite multiple disputes directly with the agency and the credit bureaus.

We are a business. Coast Professional Inc requested a verification of employment for an individual. We informed them that all VOE require a hand written or electronic signiture from the individual they are requesting information about. They faxed a VOE without any signature. We informed them it was incomplete. Over the course of 2 days we continued to receive multiple calls ( at least 6 ) where the same female harassed us requesting information because " I'm in NY and can't get a signature from the individual '' and " He won't return my call, can you just put him on the phone so I can talk to him? '' and " Can you just get the signature for me? '' as well as several other obvious tactics to maneuver around our policy. The calls have continued even though we have told her we can not assist her without a signature. This is harassment and needs to stop.

I contacted Coast Professional ( as indicated on my Student Loan Account ) in attempts to start repayment on my student loans. Of course I had so many questions and it seems the rep was frustrated. They wanted me to send them a photo of a note pad, that I'd taken with my phone, authorizing them to charge my account every month but when I included the dollar amount, they wanted me to delete that " detail ''. They'd asked me to send it stating that they could just withdraw the money each month. So basically I am writing a letter, telling them they can post date a payment ( with no set dollar amount ) AND they wouldn't send me anything in writing. I have read the reviews online and they aren't good. When I told him I wasn't sending him letter indicating that they could charge my account nor giving them my bank info the phone magically hung up.

Dear Coast Professional, I recently received a communication from your company stating that I owe {$620.00} to the IRS. When I contacted the IRS to verify this debt, they confirmed they had received my tax payment but could not verify the additional amount owed. I was never provided any information from the IRS or your company about this additional debt amount or given an opportunity to verify and validate it. Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, I have the right to receive information about the origin and validity of this debt. Please provide me with a detailed breakdown of what this debt is for, including the dates and nature of the debt. I would like to resolve this, but need more information first. Please send me written documentation validating this debt within 30 days as required by law. Thank you for your cooperation.

Coast Professionals ( phone number- XXXX ) has called my employer along with other relatives and have made everyone aware about a debt that I supposedly have ( yesterday XX/XX/2023 ). To my relatives the representative went as far as to said they had my employers number and that they would call them. I called Coast Professionals back ( today XX/XX/2023 ) and they refused to give me any information. I told them I did not consent to calls to my employer since they do not allow those types of calls and the representative said he would proceed how he wanted and hung up on me. I called again a few minutes later and got another representative and notified them again that I did not consent to those calls specially to my employer nor my friends. I asked for written notice and the representative said they can not send me anything.

In XXXX, I was informed that because of my prior service in the military, if I pay {$5.00} per month for 12 months, the loan would be forgiven. I paid that {$5.00} per month until XX/XX/XXXX and never lost my federal refund or heard anything from them until XX/XX/XXXX when my federal income tax was taken. I finally received a payment/financial history on XX/XX/XXXX detailing how all funds paid were directed toward the interest and never to principal, including the taken tax refunds. The payments either was applied to interest or fees, leaving the principal to remain stagnant and collect more interest. This is about as dishonest as you can get and I am very disappointed that the same government that I was putting my life on the line to defend would show their appreciation by continuing to gouge and manipulate veterans.

Coast professionals inc is the name of the debt collection agency who took oher my account. They basically asked me for all my personal information. I complied, and basically they are saying that all my XXXX dollar monthly payments have been over turned and werent accepted. Which is weird because I sent a fax with my credit card, routing number and account number and had at least XXXX bucks on the card and they didnt take any payments out. Very strange. Then they told me in 9 months my account would be in good standing if I maintain the XXXX dollar payments each month. So I recently talked to them and they told me they have to get me into another program since the payments never went through, them fed ex me and big packet with more personal information to fill out and send. I dont understand whats going on.

Received a notice from Coast Professional , Inc. about an alleged student loan debt I owe but this is a hand-me-down dunning notice from a previously disputed debt by another debt collection agency and the school, University of XXXX. This has been ongoing for more than ten years,

I had consolidated my federal student loans and they never sent me a letter saying my XXXX would be garnished or that I would be in default of my loans soon. As far as I knew when I logged on to my XXXX it said my loans were forgiven. COAST PROFESSIONAL XXXX SENT THE NOTICE TO THE WRONG ADDRESS, AND IT WAS N'T EVEN IN THE RIGHT STATE! THEY HAVE N'T BEEN HELPFUL AT ALL. So now my XXXX payments are being garnished every month, which it was already hard enough to live on what little income I was receiving, now it 's almost impossible. If there is anything you can do to help let me know. Thank you, XXXX

Attached to this Complaint is a notice dated XX/XX/2021, sent to me by Coast Professional , Inc. Coast Professional failed to include proper disclosures as required by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ). Coast Professional , Inc., did not disclose my right to dispute the debt in writing nor did they include they were debt collectors attempting to collect a debt. They failed to comply with the FDCPA 15 U.S.C. 1692e ( 11 ) and 15 U.S.C. 1692g ( a ) ( 3 ). Also attached to this complaint is a notice sent to Coast Professional , Inc. by me in attempts to resolve this matter.

In trying to establish a repayment plan, I provided the requested information in XX/XX/2019. I then provided updated information o in XX/XX/2019. I was received notification from the US Dept of Education demanding a payment amount based on my financial information from XX/XX/2019. When I contacted Coast Professional in XX/XX/2019, I was told the updated information was rejected. I received no official correspondence of this, nor an explanation of what this decision was based on. In attempting to reach an account representative, Ive been repeatedly told no one was available.

I was never contacted about a debt ( that I do not owe ) from the Department of Education. the debt i 'm told starts from 1994. All of a sudden my wages are being garnished. I had no knowledge of ANY debt owed, and I was not given an opportunity to communicate with anyone to either confirm or deny that I owe anything, but instead the order was sent to my employer. If anything was mailed to me, I never received it. Absence of a response does n't mean I owe anything. I was never given a chance to defend myself. And now out of the blue, I have to figure out how to pay my rent!!

I mailed them my first letter XX/XX/XXXX, requesting that they validate my account and send me the original documents of indebtedness, and in exchange I will pay the account in full. I was not notified that I had an outstanding debt with Coast Professionals. As a matter of fact I didn't receive any type of notification from the agency that I had a debt until I filed a dispute with XXXX. I was only after I filed a dispute that I received a notification in the mail. The dispute was returned without explaining to me why it wasn't taken off my credit report. My credit score went from an XXXX to XXXX over a {$600.00} debt that I didn't even know about. Someone with an XXXX score would not have a problem paying a {$600.00} debt.

When I contact Coast Professional, they will confirm that I do not owe them any money but they will not provide written confirmation of any sort.
