Dear Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, My name is XXXX XXXX, and I am writing in regards to a bill that I received from the California Business Bureau , Inc., a collections agency, on behalf of XXXX XXXX XXXX. My account number has been designated as XXXX. The letter has notified me that I am being charged a total of {$120.00}, and that I will be receiving a negative credit report by the CBB. I would like very much to contest this charge, on the grounds that the services that I had received from XXXX XXXX XXXX were unsatisfactory. I called the CBB twice on XX/XX/XXXX, the day that I received the letter. On the first call, I spoke with someone who told me that by stating to her over the phone that I had met and spoke with a doctor at XXXX XXXX XXXX during my appointment, that I had just admitted to her on a recorded line that I indeed received services from XXXX XXXX XXXX, and that regardless of whether those services were satisfactory or not, I am still going to be charged for them and receive a negative credit report if I dont pay the bill. She was very aggressive over the phone, and insisted that the bill was fair, despite my objection that the services were completely useless and insufficient. She told me that I could not dispute them with the CBB, and that I had to go elsewhere to dispute the bill. I called again an hour or so later, and spoke with someone else, who told me that I could dispute the bill with the CBB. This bill is for an appointment that I had at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, on XX/XX/XXXX. In XXXX of that year, I started to notice that my XXXX XXXX was XXXX XXXX again, as it first began to do in XXXX. The first XXXX XXXX and XXXX physician that I had seen last year, regarding this issue, was Dr. XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX, CA on XX/XX/XXXX. Dr. XXXX examined me, and attempted to XXXX my XXXX XXXX XXXX, in order to allow more XXXX to pass through, so that whatever obstruction was present would come out. He XXXX the area underneath my XXXX, known as the XXXX, with a XXXX XXXX, and poked into the area with a sharp metal tool. The pain was severe, and his procedure did not solve the problem whatsoever. My XXXX XXXX was still XXXX up to the same extent as before. Also, on that day, Dr. XXXX sent me over to the nearby XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX for a XXXX XXXX that he said would be useful in determining whether I had an unusually high amount of XXXX in my XXXX, which may have been restricting the flow of XXXX in my XXXX XXXX. I took the XXXX XXXX, and four days later, I brought the results to my general XXXX Dr. XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX, CA, on XX/XX/XXXX. Dr. XXXX told me that XXXX XXXX in general are not good indicators for the causes of XXXX XXXX obstructions, and that my tests showed normal XXXX levels anyway, so basically, the XXXX XXXX was unnecessary. Dr. XXXX did however recommend that I go to the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, because he said that they had a specific machine that could remove XXXX XXXX XXXX, and that they were the only people he knew of who had this machine. An important context to consider is that in XXXX, I had a similar issue of a XXXX XXXX XXXX that was impacted by a XXXX XXXX. I visited a XXXX XXXX named Dr. XXXX XXXX in XXXX, CA during XX/XX/XXXX. She referred me to the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to have them perform an XXXX test on my XXXX. I went there on XX/XX/XXXX, and the results of the XXXX test showed that No definite XXXX or XXXX could be seen. I went again to Dr. XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX, so that she could XXXX my XXXX ; but, unfortunately, she left a large amount of XXXX ( XXXX ), which irritated me, and resulted in an XXXX XXXX. After which, I decided to make an appointment with Dr. XXXX, because he was an XXXX XXXX and XXXX specialist. I had my first ever visit with Dr. XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX, where I showed him my XXXX test results. He XXXX my XXXX a little more, diagnosed me with an XXXX XXXX, prescribed XXXX XXXX, examined my XXXX, and told me that there was no evidence of a XXXX in my XXXX XXXX. However, I could feel and even see the XXXX myself. Whenever my mouth would XXXX, the XXXX would rise up my XXXX XXXX, into the visible part of the XXXX, and this would happen throughout the day. I was scheduled for a follow up visit for a full extraction of the remaining XXXX. A few days before the follow up appointment, I actually managed to remove the XXXX myself. During the nighttime, the XXXX had risen up my XXXX XXXX, after I had eaten something sour, and I was able grab onto it with my thumb and index finger ; however, it was very slippery and excruciatingly painful to hold onto. The XXXX would fall back down due to a lack of grip, so instead, I pulled on the area with my fingers again, as far as I could this time, and bit down hard on it with my front teeth. This hurt a lot, but not as much as the next step that I took to free myself of this ailment, which involved removing the XXXX, by XXXX at the area of the XXXX that it had been obstructing. I grabbed one of my parents XXXX test strip needles, and with the XXXX still between my front teeth, I began XXXX against it with the needle. After a few tries, the flesh began to bleed and open up, and the XXXX came out of my XXXX, slid out of my mouth, and onto the mirror that I was using. I went and showed my mother the XXXX, and she was so relieved that she started kissing me all over my cheeks, and with her eyes full of tears, she told me how happy she was that it wasnt anything serious. I placed the XXXX inside of a plastic bag to show it to Dr. XXXX during my follow up visit on XX/XX/XXXX. He was amazed to see that I had removed it myself, and told me that from now on, I would need to remain hydrated throughout the day, massage my XXXX with a warm compress from time to time, and consume regular amounts of lime or lemon juice, so that my mouth would produce a healthy amount of XXXX. Otherwise, he said that another XXXX might appear again in the future, and I may even need to have my XXXX XXXX removed altogether. Six years later, when the XXXX returned, and I went to Dr. XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX, he sent my records to the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, because they were supposedly the only people he knew of who had a special machine that could remove XXXX XXXX XXXX, with minimal to no damage done to the patient. Several weeks after my appointment with Dr. XXXX, I received a call from XXXX, and I was told that the earliest appointment they had was nearly two months from the day they called me. I scheduled the appointment for XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX. They did not, and could not send me an email, text message, nor voicemail to confirm the date and time. When the appointment came, my mother and I arrived around XXXX XXXX., and we were told after waiting an hour that my appointment was actually for XXXX XXXX., and not XXXX XXXX. My mom was very upset by this, as we now had to wait several hours before I could be seen. After I had complained to the receptionist, one of the staff members came up to me, and told me that I was mistaken, and that I in fact did agree to the appointment being on XXXX XXXX. When I was finally seen, the doctor they had available gave me no new information whatsoever. He told me that I had no XXXX in my XXXX XXXX, that I should continue consuming lemon juices, and remain hydrated. He said that the machine which Dr. XXXX was referring to did not exist anywhere in their office, and that he doesnt even know anyone whos ever used it. He also told me that even if they did have the machine, I wouldnt need them to operate on me with it anyway, because there was no XXXX in my XXXX XXXX. As far as Im concerned, this appointment was a major waste of time, and it was a terrible day, as my mother was very upset with me for us having to wait so long just to hear the same thing that the other doctor told me already. After a month or so, XXXX XXXX XXXX began sending me bills in the mail. I called the billing department after I received my first bill, and spoke with a representative about how I did not want to pay the bill, because the appointment that I had was a complete waste of my time. The representative told me to explain to her everything that happened, and that she would be able to file a grievance on my behalf. I did this, and called her back shortly afterwards. She then told me that it turned out that she was actually unable to file a grievance for me, and that I would have to sign a consent release to give access of my personal health records to XXXX XXXX XXXX. She directed me to a page on their website, which turned out to be the wrong page. She had me fill out the wrong form, and when I called again to ask her if she could send me a direct link for the correct form to my email, she told me that she was not allowed to email patients. I called again a few days later, and at that point, she had left for a several month long vacation. I tried talking to other people at the Medical Center, but they all told me that there was nothing I could do, because she was the only person who was handling the billing department. At that point, I gave up, because if their Medical Center was not going to help facilitate a way for me to dispute this bill, then I had no reason to take it seriously. They continued to send me bills throughout the past year and a half, and as far as Im concerned, they are extremely persistent, in getting their money back. I still have no idea what form she made me sign. What was it? Ive never once had to sign a consent release to file a grievance for a medical bill anyway. XXXX XXXX XXXX did not handle this situation in a professional manner, they gave me the runaround, and they still feel entitled to get money for doing nothing. Im not even sure which doctor I saw, because his name isnt written on any of the bills theyve sent me.

Resubmitted Complaint XX/XX/2020 Resubmitted Complaint XX/XX/XXXX XXXX Consumer ComplaintXX/XX/2020 XXXX I called California Business Bureau , Inc. on XX/XX/2020 at XXXX. I spoke to XXXX XXXX ( ext XXXX ). XXXX took the time to admonish me for not paying my bill. I explained I had never been sent to collections before, but due to a family tragedy, I had lost sight of one small medical bill. I settled my debt quickly and asked for a deletion letter. XXXX informed me that she would send out the deletion letter as a one time courtesy and again admonished me for the oversight. I thanked her and explained I don't expect to ever get sent to collections again. XXXX informed me the letter will be in the mail and to wait 7-10 business days. When I didn't receive the deletion letter, I called XXXX back on XX/XX/2020, to check on the status of the letter. XXXX then informed me the letter was never sent but that it will go out in the mail the next day and that I needed to wait another 7-10 business days. I told XXXX that since I was going through a refinancing of my home, the lender required the letter immediately and I asked if she could either email it or send it via expedited mail ( like XXXX ). She informed me that she couldn't but that I could go in person to pick it up. I informed her that due to COVID-19 and me being in a high risk category, I didn't think that was a risk I should take and again asked her to reconsider my request. When she refused, I asked to speak to her supervisor. XXXX didn't want to pass me to her supervisor but eventually put me on hold. I spoke to XXXX, who said she was the " Vice President '' of California Business Bureau and reiterated she couldn't send me the deletion letter via expedited mail. She interrupted me and took the time to admonish me for not paying my bill, again explained the deletion letter was a courtesy and became rude, hostile and aggressive when I tried to speak and ask why she couldn't send me the deletion letter via expedited mail when I had already settled my debt. She was more interested in speaking over me and giving me a life lesson, than holding up her part of the agreement and providing me with the letter. She then hung up on me. I'm concerned XXXX will now not send the deletion letter out of spite and that that I won't be able to refinance my home. I'm also concerned this settled debt will affect my credit score, which I've worked hard to keep in the 800s. These people shouldn't have this much power. It goes to their heads and they can cause further financial hardships. They are part of the problem and not the solution. I'm requesting help to procure this deletion letter and would like to lodge a formal complaint against this debt collector for not acting in good faith. Company 's Response XX/XX/XXXX Hello and thank you for contacting California Business Bureau Inc. ( CBB ). We appreciate the opportunity to respond to this complaint. Granted, the paid in full/deletion letter was not sent in our normal/routine timeframe due to staffing shortages with Covid19. I personally took the paid in full/deletion letter to the post office so that it would be in her mailbox as expeditiously as possible. Her address and our office are in the same city so my fair assumption is that the letter would be in her mailbox by XX/XX/XXXX. We spoke on XX/XX/XXXX, letter was printed XX/XX/XXXX and at the post office on the same day. If for some reason, she has not received her paid in full deletion letter from CBB, she may contact me directly but I would like to believe, the letter has been received and this complaint regarding an expedited letter has been resolved. Respectfully, XXXX XXXX VP XXXX XXXX Branch California Business Bureau Inc./XXXX XXXX XXXX . Consumer feedback XX/XX/XXXX CBB Inc. first represented they would send the deletion letter out on XX/XX/XXXX. However,19 days later, on XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX ( an employee of CBB and subordinate to Ms XXXX XXXX ) admitted the letter wasn't sent, which catalyzed my egregious experience with Ms. XXXX XXXX ( VP of the XXXX XXXX Branch of CBB Inc. ) and caused me undue stress and anxiety. In her statement, Ms. XXXX XXXX represented that it is fair to assume the deletion letter should be received by XX/XX/XXXX. However, it is now XX/XX/XXXX, and I have yet to receive the deletion letter. Although Ms XXXX XXXX 's tone appears to now be professional and cooperative, likely given this forum, she has failed to send the deletion letter as detailed in her reply to this complaint. 25 days have elapsed since I settled my debt and was promised a deletion letter. I am currently undergoing a refinancing of my home and the lender is requiring this deletion letter for things to move forward. It is unfortunate Ms XXXX XXXX uses her position to threaten and belittle consumers instead of following the laws and regulations of her industry while maintaining some human decency. After all, she is prosecuting debt from healthcare costs from ill or recovering people and fails to take that into account. That is the reason I will not be reaching out to her by telephone. I simply feel safer disputing this issue online, where her actions are properly monitored by a third party. I hope Ms XXXX XXXX decides to do the right thing and sends the deletion letter ( certified mail perhaps? to ensure delivery ). However, if I do not receive the deletion letter by Tuesday, XX/XX/XXXX, the refinancing will be aborted and I will be suffering further financial hardship. Should this happen, I plan to hold CBB Inc. and Ms. XXXX XXXX personally liable and move forward with legal action. This is my final attempt at resolving this matter. Company 's Response XX/XX/2020 Thank you for contacting California Business Bureau. This issue has already been addressed and as stated in previous response, I personally took the paid in full/deletion letter to the post office directly. I do not see a reason why the consumer would not have received. I will request another letter to be sent. Also, XXXX should have updated the consumer credit file by processing our deletion request. We show XXXX has accepted our files for this request. Respectfully, XXXX XXXX Consumer feedback XX/XX/2020 In my final request for the deletion letter dated XX/XX/XXXX, which CBB Inc. representatives promised to send upon payment of debt, I encouraged Ms. XXXX XXXX XXXX to provide the letter by XX/XX/XXXX. Ms. XXXX XXXX had seven days to complete this very simple request. Instead, on XX/XX/XXXX, Ms. XXXX XXXX stated she " will request another letter to be sent '', completely ignoring the deadline provided and the fact her actions directly cause injury ( via financial hardship ) to my client. Ms. XXXX XXXX 's blatant disregard of state and federal regulations and clear preference to play malicious games with consumers has been noted and requires further investigation as well as legal remedy. Furthermore, CBB Inc. 's hiring and training practices also need to be addressed, as Ms. XXXX XXXX 's sophomoric and reckless behavior as well as unscrupulous tactics likely corrupt the workforce she directly supervises. CBB Inc. 's retention of an employee who increases their liability is curious and their decision to allow Ms. XXXX XXXX to continue to handle escalated inquiries seems short-sighted and foolhardy. Ms. XXXX XXXX 's talents may be better suited peddling beauty products for MLM companies, not assisting consumers interested in settling their medical debts fairly and expeditiously. No one who has the misfortune to incur medical debt should also suffer the wrath of a disgruntled and unsympathetic employee. I invite CBB Inc. 's feedback on Ms. XXXX XXXX 's mishandling to this situation. If I do not hear back, my legal counsel will be in touch with legal representatives at your Corporate Offices in XXXX, CA. Thank you for your time and attention in this regard.

I am writing this formal complaint against California Business Bureau , Inc. in reference to my collections accounts with the organization. Since receiving my initial letter by mail that my account had migrated into collections I successfully received a bill each month by the XXXX to make my monthly payment with the exception of two months ( XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX ). On XX/XX/XXXX I was expecting my last collections bill by mail and it never came. Luckily I had set up iCalendar reminders for this and logged onto the Pay CBB website to make my final payment. Upon logging in I was asked for my account number located at the top of your bill which I didnt have so I called the number listed on the CBB website ( XXXX ) for assistance. Upon calling I was connected with a representative ( XXXX ) who informed me to make payment I would need the account number from my bill. I let XXXX know I didnt have the account number from my bill because I never received a bill. The representative reluctantly gave me my account number so that I could pay my balance online. I successfully paid off the remaining balance of my account while the representative XXXX stayed on the line with me as I requested. We ended the call. About 15 minutes after paying the bill online I called the company back to inquire about receiving confirmation that my balance was {$0.00} and the account would be closed. I was met with the same representative ( XXXX ) with an attitude who let me know the confirmation was on the screen when I paid. I explained that I I did not screenshot or save that specific page nor did I receive an email confirmation for this payment or any payment I have made and asked if a letter or email can be sent out to me. The representative told me I had to request a letter. Growing frustrated I verbally let him know ( on a recorded line ) I am requesting an account closure letter that will document a {$0.00} balance. The representative let me know the letter would be mailed in 3-5 business days. I asked XXXX to confirm my address since two times ( XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX ) I had never received a bill and he refused, became combative with me and eventually hung up on me. It is now XX/XX/XXXX and I still havent received an account closure letter for my records as XXXX promised so I reached out via phone call seven ( 7 ) times at various times between XXXX XXXX/EST and XXXX XXXX/EST. I also submitted multiple requests through the " Request a Call '' link on their website in hopes to receive a call back. By XXXX XXXX/EST I still had not been contacted and reached back out to CBB where I was connected with XXXX again. I asked him about receiving an account closure letter and he let me know I already called today. I let him know I also already called a month ago about this same issue and his reply was argumentative ; yea but you called today, I see it here you called at XXXX XXXXmaam you already called todayyou called today already. I informed him Ive been trying to call all day really because I have no documentation that my account is paid off ; Im not receiving bills in a timely fashion, I want to check if I owe any more money, Im not getting ahold of anyone, I never received an account closure letter as promised, etc. I also reminded XXXX that he told me approximately one month prior on XX/XX/XXXX that I would have a letter in 3-5 business days and I never received it.the call ended abruptly again when he hung up on me. I raise the question, if my call, voicemail, and request to be contacted were acknowledged and received then why did I not receive a call back, an email or simply a confirmation that the account closure letter had been sent as I requested in the voicemail and in the online contact form? I dont understand why this company must create obstacles for simple requests. I called the CBB again on XX/XX/XXXX to inquire about my account number so that I can log online and check my account myself to see a {$0.00} balance to screenshot for my records and be rid of CBB, Inc. and was met with XXXX, who reminded me, like XXXX, that Ive already called today. She let me know I dont know why you keep calling you dont owe anymore money, I had her repeat that phrase by saying So my account balance is {$0.00} and the account is paid off?. Yes, she replied. I have seen the XXXX reviews for this organization and I fear that I will face the outcome of the other consumers ; that I will pay off my bill ( or so I think ) and receive a letter one year later saying I owe a minuscule amount of money ( i.e. {$0.00} XXXX review by XXXX XXXX ) or that I will owe an amount of money that has accrued interest and late fees because I once again, did not receive a bill in a timely manner. I am frustrated. Nobody likes having a collections account. I am simply requesting to have documentation emailed to me or mailed to me that my California Business Bureau account has a {$0.00} balance and is now closed. In all of my efforts to get this debt paid off this letter will help me have peace of mind that I dont owe anymore monies for my ER visit in XXXX. I believe this to be a simple ask and therefore filing this complaint in hopes that it will help progress the situation.

I am a XXXX retired XXXX with XXXX plus years military service and a VA XXXX XXXX of XXXX XXXX XXXX As such, I exclusively use the VA for 100 % of my health care needs and during XXXX I was taken by ambulance on two occasions to XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX. Both ER visits to XXXX involved shortness of breath with severe XXXX and XXXX pain. The first ER visit occurred from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX when I was hospitalized for XXXX days with a XXXX XXXX The second ER visit occurred on XX/XX/XXXX for identical symptoms as the first. Fortunately, following multiple procedures and tests, I was discharged later that same day. Unfortunately, XXXX admin personnel made a clerical error on my discharge documents on by inserting an erroneous billing code that resulted in me being sent unknowingly to collections for a bill of {$4900.00} Guarantor ID # XXXX. Account # XXXX. It deserves mentioning that veterans are routinely sent to collections due to late payments or oversights by the VA or their assorted private providers however, these matters are typically resolved by responsible parties before derogatory reports impact the veterans otherwise good credit histories. At this particular time in XXXX, I had already lost count how many times I had conversed with both XXXX and XXXX XXXX ( among others ), to facilitate payments for bills generated by both ER visits mentioned above : XXXX. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, CA XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX. XXXX ( Succeeded now by XXXX ) XXXX XXXX XXXXt XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, CA XXXX PH : XXXX XXXX XXXX Following multiple conversations with both XXXX and XXXX, including various debt XXXX and agencies such as California XXXX XXXX, my final conversation with both XXXX and XXXX regarding any outstanding bills or collection notices from any entity whatsoever, was on or around XX/XX/XXXX. During these final conversations both XXXX and XXXX assured me this issue was nothing more than a clerical error that can take time to resolve and I was not to worry about it. Both also advised me the bill had been resubmitted with proper billing codes for approval and theyd let me know if they needed anything further from me. I insured they had one anothers contact information and never heard from either of them ever again. Fast forward slightly more than a year later with more of the same erroneous billing errors and collection notices when, on or about XX/XX/XXXX, my wife and I were awoken by an early morning phone call on her mobile phone from an individual identifying himself as XXXX XXXX who was working with the VA in an effort to locate XXXX XXXX regarding outstanding medical bills from XXXX XXXX. Considering the inordinate amount of previous phone conversations I had with the VA, XXXX XXXX, California XXXX XXXX and various other collection agencies like them, where I shared every shred of my personal information to multiple agents so as to take myself out of their crosshairs, its fair to say I was astonished that XXXX XXXX had now taken to harass my wife in addition to me since they all know how to contact me, or at least should, providing they do anything with the information they insist on gathering every time you talk with them. XXXX XXXX was very deceptive and rude to both my wife and I in both tone and comment so I quickly explained to him that I was a 100 % rated veteran covered by the VA for 100 % of my medical costs then provided him with XXXX XXXX XXXX as per routine to facilitate payment for whatever XXXX bill it was still outstanding. Before hanging up he asked what I suggested he do if the VA refuses to pay this bill? I did my best to explain it wasnt my fault whenever XXXX XXXX is delinquent in paying his medical bills and reassured him that XXXX would help him resolve the matter. On XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XXXX left me a voicemail requesting I contact him which, due to his disrespectful manner, I elected to notify XXXX instead for the second time to express a sense of urgency on this matter. I did not get to speak with XXXX but provided another detailed voicemail explaining the situation to include XXXX XXXX contact information. I have yet to receive a reply from XXXX or XXXX XXXX despite additional calls from me. Collection Agent XXXX XXXX California XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, CA XXXX XXXX XXXX Ext XXXX On XX/XX/XXXX I received notice from my ID Protection Provider that my credit information had received adverse reporting due to XXXX clerical error on my ER visit back in XXXX. I was not aware of this debt until it hit my credit report as a collections account. I disputed it with XXXX, but they did not remove it from my report. Note, information reflected on my report and reported to XXXX was incorrect and presumably could not be substantiated, so I am still unclear as to why XXXX is allowing it to remain on my report. Despite a lack of notification as described below, information being incorrect, and California Business Bureau and XXXX XXXX will not cooperate in resolving the issues or correcting their mistakes causing an unjustified negative impact to my credit report. On XX/XX/XXXX, I reached out to California Business Bureau the collection agency listed on my credit report. During the two-way recorded conversation ( recording was consented to ), it was discovered that my contact information was incorrect. I provided the correct contact information and requested that this item be removed from my credit report as I was unclear as to what the debt was for and needed time to research. Immediately following my call with California Business Bureau, I reached out to what I think is XXXX XXXX billing department and spoke to XXXX who is allergy a supervisor with XXXX XXXX. XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX stated she had two addresses on file for me. After I confirmed which one was the correct address for me, XXXX reconfirmed that XXXX XXXX had been sending information to the incorrect on file. I hoping she removed the incorrect address and left the correct one after our call. I then conferenced XXXX XXXX XXXX into our call. After approximately 30 minutes into our 3-way call with me, XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX was discovered that the procedure performed at XXXX XXXX was submitted by XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX incorrectly at no fault of my own. XXXX XXXX was provided with the correct information ; however, they did not use the information provided to them by me at the time the procedure was done. XXXX ( XXXX XXXX ) advised XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) that she should correct the error by resubmitting the claim immediately and that he would be happy to facilitate it being processed and proceeded to give XXXX his direct contact number. XXXX ( XXXX XXXX ) also offered to call the collection agency. During our call, we were able to confirm that the service provided by XXXX XXXX was fully covered by insurance and would have been paid timely if in fact XXXX XXXX would have submitted the claim correctly, under the correct member identification number. XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX, indicated that she would have the mistake corrected immediately. As of this writing, XXXX an amended claim has not been filed with XXXX XXXX XXXX to correct the issue. On XX/XX/XXXX, I reached back out to XXXX, and she confirmed that an amended claim had not been submitted to XXXX XXXX XXXX as she promised and requested by XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) on XX/XX/XXXX ( due to aging of the claim ). During my call with XXXX on XXXX she declined to provide me with the following information : - Governing agency that I could file a complaint with regarding XXXX XXXX billing practices and sending XXXX to an incorrect address - My complete file ( bills, invoices, healthcare records, etc ) - Escalation process within XXXX XXXX so I could resolve this - Confirm or guide to someone who could confirm XXXX XXXX XXXX for Service so we could proceed with a small claims action ( California Secretary of State has two Agents for Service listed for XXXX XXXX on their website ). - The name of XXXX XXXX CEO/President or any other member of the executive team- Which department she worked for In conclusion, XXXX XXXX is impacting my credit due to their mistakes and XXXX stonewalled me and despite stating otherwise on XX/XX/XXXX is doing nothing to correct XXXX XXXX mistakes ; therefore, forcing us to litigate over a bill that would have been paid if billed correctly. California Business Bureau, INC.is aware of the aforementioned, refuses to confirm the aforementioned or acknowledge they were sending correspondence to an incorrect address and that I do not owe this debt due to XXXX XXXX faulting billing practices My address was only corrected as a result of my call on XX/XX/XXXX. Both entities are refusing to remove the item from my credit report despite XXXX XXXX confirmation of full coverage and request to submit and amended claim under the correct member identification. Of note, this was a routine procedure fully covered by my health care insurance. Not sue why XXXX XXXX billed the wrong member identification number as they have billed my health care insurance company using the correct member identification XXXX XXXX XXXX for services performed in the past. Please note all conversations noted above were conducted on a two-way recorded line that was consented to by all parties and a copy of the unredacted transcriptions have been included.

CALIFORNIA BUSINESS BUREAU contacted me attempting to collecting on a debt that I have never contracted or agreed to pay them. The rep stated I owed them the debt even though I had not contracted to pay them because they purchased the debt from another company. I told the rep I would not be paying on a debt that doesn't belong to me and I think he/she may be calling the wrong person. I also told that rep I would be sending in a debt validation letter to validate this debt. The rep continued to call me everyday for the next couple weeks, leaving threats on my voicemail. They began to contact me by mail shortly after the first call I had with that rep. After them harassing me for this debt they started to report negative and defaming information on my consumers report about this account. Upon checking this account I noticed CALIFORNIA BUSINESS BUREAU reported multiple inaccuracies on this account to the three main credit reporting agencies. I immediately thought to myself this account was not handled with accuracy or integrity due to the number of inaccuracies within this account. When I noticed the account on my consumers report I sent CALIFORNIA BUSINESS BUREAU a debt validation letter which I have attached to this complaint. CALIFORNIA BUSINESS BUREAU never responded to the letter. Since they have never responded to the letter or supplied me with sufficient information in order to validate this debt, I know the debt is a mistake and not mines. I don't not feel like my account was handled with accuracy and/or integrity. Therefore, with respect, I am challenging the accuracy and integrity of this information. XXXX2 XXXX 1022.41states ( a ) Accuracy means that information that a furnisher provides to a consumer reporting agency about an account or other relationship with the consumer correctly : XXXX ) Reflects the terms of and liability for the account or other relationship ; ( XXXX ) Reflects the consumer 's performance and other conduct with respect to the account or other relationship ; and ( XXXX ) Identifies the appropriate consumer. XXXX XXXX 1022.41 ( d ) also states Integrity means that information that a furnisher provides to a consumer reporting agency about an account or other relationship with the consumer : ( 1 ) Is substantiated by the furnisher 's records at the time it is furnished ; ( 2 ) Is furnished in a form and manner that is designed to minimize the likelihood that the information may be incorrectly reflected in a consumer report ; and ( 3 ) Includes the information in the furnisher 's possession about the account or other relationship that the Bureau has : ( i ) Determined that the absence of which would likely be materially misleading in evaluating a consumer 's creditworthiness, credit standing, credit capacity, character, general reputation, personal characteristics, or mode of living. Due to the number of inaccuracies within this account which I have highlighted in the image below in the attachment section I know this debt is a mistake and shows this account was not handled with accuracy or integrity. As you can see For account XXXX there is inaccurate account numbers, date opened, balance, high credit, last reported, and date last active reporting to the three credit reporting agencies. Please remove this account from my consumers report. Due to the inaccuracies of this account reporting to three credit reporting agencies incorrect information I have been denied loans I would have been approved for had this account been handled with accuracy and integrity. This has caused me sleepless nights, stress and really bad anxiety. CALIFORNIA BUSINESS BUREAU : XXXX

I have an outstanding medical bill with the XXXX XXXX hospital from XXXX and I wasn't aware about it or that they had submitted it to collections with the California Business Bureau. The address they have on file is not ours anymore. I do not think the hospital sent me any letters but from XXXX I have been out of state in XXXX XXXX and I've been moving around craiglist to craiglist and even had to set up a PO Box because my mom was being so difficult and not communicating with my mail. I can show evidence to prove all this. She eventually divorced my dad and the address has been sold since XXXX. However I do not think the XXXX XXXX had sent me anything directly anyway I think they just sent it to the collections agency. I have been trying to fix my credit and recently set up an XXXX account last year. I have also been working with XXXX XXXX, who also had access to my reports. Anyway It showed I had a collection item for {$900.00} with the California Business Bureau, and it showed it was from XXXX XXXX hospital. When I called them they said they charged me interested of {$550.00} also which is a balance of {$1400.00}. Two representatives were really rude, last week I spoke to a girl called XXXX and she kept harrassing me and assaulting and never letting me finish my sentences. I was happy to pay the {$900.00} despite being laid off and in the tough times of COVID but she was so defiant and said no you knew about this, you made a payment in XXXX, we have been mailing you. Despite me explaining my story she was continuously attacking me. It was disgusting. I then spoke to XXXX, their supervisor yesterday, but she was just as rude saying I can offer you {$1200.00} lump sum payment, but this bill is from XXXX and its XXXX now, I know Covid has hit but you should have no excuse to pay this for now because you should have money saved for this? Are these people XXXX XXXX? Do they know that Governor XXXX has imposed strict guidelines to ensure that people won't be evicted, so that companies can not harrass them for payments and companies are meant to be compassionate during Covid? I was so angry at her. Anyway I want you to acknowledge the following unreasonable and harrassing behaviour of the company - I have been happy to settle with the original amount, I have been trying to contact the hospital directly but they aren't responding. From my understanding medical bills are ineffective after 7 years and this is from XXXX but the collections agency has made this effective from XXXX - I want them to acknowledge that I haven't been aware about this bill, I have been moving around, they can see that from my report I have evidence that my mom is abusive and doesnt help me, and you can see they sold the house in XXXX. They can not express how I knew about this bill and am liable to pay. - We are protected in law for any forms of harrassment. The fact that I am willing to pay {$900.00} for something is still a trait of good behaviour, at least appreciate that! The communications back and forth about how I knew about the bill, I am apparently a liar, the fact that its a XXXX bill and I've left this till XXXX to try and make me feel guilty is appauling, these people need to know that the Law is in our favour when it comes to delaying bills and from any forms of harrassment. I hope you can look into the bahaviour of this company.

It was brought to my attention that I had outstanding medical debt in collections when I applied for my auto loan in XXXX of 2021. The negative remarks affected me by not allowing me to qualify for a loan with low interest ; therefore I decided not to move forward with purchasing a vehicle. Instead I decided to get to the bottom of this medical debt that was of surprise to me, as no medical or collections entity had ever tried to reach out to me before to collect payment or give me the opportunity to dispute the debt. Consequently, I was able to track down the California Business Bureau as the entity that reported this debt making it onto my credit profile. I then contacted them via phone to investigate the debt they stated that I owed, instead I was responded to with aggressiveness and unwillingness to explain the details of the debt they claimed was mine. I was even threatened that they would once again report me to The Credit Bureau if I did not pay the balance by the end of the month. Seeing that they were of no help to explain this debt to me, I resorted to solely communicating via mail moving forward to track any information given to me as well as my attempts to get more information on the debt. XX/XX/2021 I sent CA Bus. Bureau a debt validation letter via certified mail on XX/XX/2021 ; in this letter I requested multiple items, including for them to validate this debt they claimed I owed as well as requesting that they prove that they had permission to obtain my medical records. XX/XX/2021 I received a response via mail from them in which they provided a letter as well as itemized bills from the hospital, detailing services and medications rendered, alongside diagnosis. I would like to note that the hospital bills they provided me with had the incorrect address on them, further proving that I had not been contacted neither by the hospital or the collections agency. They failed to provide any form of signed consent by me that authorized the hospital to release my medical information to them let alone any other entities. XX/XX/2021 Seeing that they did not provide me with all of the things I requested, I resent the debt validation letter via certified mail in which I requested that they provide the remaining missing documents. This includes the signed authorization to release my medical records, which I know that they do not have, as I never signed a form as such. Instead they sent a list of my medical records ; which I know is a direct violation of HIPAA law regulations. I never signed a HIPAA form authorizing them to have access to this information. XX/XX/2021 CA Business Bureau sent out the same information that they had previously sent in response to my first letter, therefore ignoring my request to allow them once more to validate the debt and remaining documents.

I called California Business Bureau , Inc. on XX/XX/2020 at XXXX. I'm also concerned this settled debt will affect my credit score, which I've worked hard to keep in the XXXX. These people shouldn't have this much power. It goes to their heads and they can cause further financial hardships. They are part of the problem and not the solution. I'm requesting help to procure this deletion letter and would like to lodge a formal complaint against this debt collector for not acting in good faith.

On Tuesday, XX/XX/XXXX I was contacted by phone at around XXXX XXXX by the California XXXX XXXX. The employee on the phone was XXXX XXXX ( ext. XXXX ). XXXX XXXX THREATENED me with the defamation of my consumer reputation stating that if I do not pay the debt he alleged or set up a payment plan for said alleged debt, he would have the debt hit my credit which would damage it. I told him that I did not recognize or assume responsibility for the debt from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX for patient XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. This is where he got very obscene and mocked me saying, Oh you dont remember receiving care for your own daughter? At this point I felt directly insulted and attacked by his questioning of my parenting because of the tone he mocked me with. He also used a previous call that was made by another representative to me back in XXXX of XXXX, during Covid, where I stated that my husband had just DIED and I was mentally distressed and incapable/unable to conduct any business with them and to cease all telephone communication. He claims that was my way of VALIDATING that the debt was mine, which I never did. The FDCPA 809 ( c ) states that The failure of a consumer to dispute the validity of a debt under this section may not be construed by any court as an admission of liability by the consumer. and he construed my comment as such. He also claims that he could not provide me with a validation of the debt to my address because it was already sent. I have NEVER received such validation nor do they have proof of delivery thereof. When I asked about the other information on my file as I am entitled to, he stated, Im not going to sit here and read you your entire file just because YOU do not have YOUR ducks in a row. According to the FDCPA 806 ( 2 ), The use of obscene or profane language or language the natural consequence of which is to abuse the hearer or reader. The natural consequence of his language in this irrefutably obscene exchange was to abuse the hearer, me, and I feel as such. XXXX XXXX of the California XXXX XXXX not only mocked my capabilities as a parent but also violated the FDCPA in his attempted collection of the alleged debt he accused and threatened negative action for. After this harassing debt collection phone call I am left severely distressed.

On XXXX XXXX XXXX, I was brought to the XXXX XXXX XXXX due to XXXX. I was still XXXX when I got there. As soon as my XXXX, I told the staff that I did not want to be treated or examined and walked out, since I was n't sure whether XXXX was going to cover the hospital bill. ( I had just received my XXXX acceptance letter shortly before this incident. ) A few weeks later, I received XXXX invoices : one from the ambulance service, one from the hospital. I called both companies and gave them my XXXX number so they could charge XXXX ( since I now knew that XXXX covers emergencies ). The ambulance service was apparently able to charge the bill to XXXX without any issues. However, about 4 months later, in XXXX XXXX as well as in XXXX XXXX I was surprised to be sent XXXX letters from the XXXX XXXX XXXX asking again for the XXXX USD they claimed I owed ( even though I had refused treatment ). I received those letters in XXXX since I had been out of the country in XXXX. I called the hospital up immediately and asked what the problem was. It seemed as though they had had the wrong XXXX number. I gave them my XXXX number again. This time, I asked the person on the phone to read it back to me, so we could make sure that it was definitely the correct number. When she read it back, it was correct. Since then I did not hear from the hospital again at all. On XXXX XXXX ( XXXX/XXXX/XXXX ) I received a letter from a debt collector asking for the " outstanding '' debt to the XXXX XXXX XXXX. The debt collector said that the documentation they had gotten from the hospital did not show that any XXXX number had been given - even though I had given it to the hospital twice ( albeit once apparently incorrectly ). I was shocked. The worst part about this is, of course, that XXXX generally only pays bills that lie, I believe, at the most about one year back. The XXXX XXXX XXXX # 1 apparently failed to attempt to collect the payment from XXXX and # 2 failed to inform me about this in due time so that I could have gotten in touch with XXXX myself. Now, that the timeframe during which they could have claimed the amount from my insurance has passed, they try to make me responsible for their failure.

My name is XXXX XXXX, a federally protected consumer, Im making this complaint against California Business Bureau , Inc. for committing identity theft. I am hereby requesting that you confirm the fact that I owe this debt as required by any applicable state and federal laws. Please contact the creditor to obtain verification. In addition, under the provisions of state and federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ), Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), and related consumer statutes, I am hereby instructing you to cease collection of the debt while efforts are made to obtain verification. Until you resolve this error with the creditor, you should neither contact me nor anyone else except the creditor about this collection. Furthermore, any reporting of this matter to credit reporting agencies is premature. Until you have investigated my dispute, you should not relay negative information to a credit reporting agency. If negative information has already been reported, you must notify the agency to remove said report until the investigative process is over so that my credit report remains accurate, or at the very least, my credit report should be updated to reflect my dispute. Your next contact with me should be to either notice that the creditor has failed to provide verification of the debt and that the matter has been closed or that you believe that this debt is valid and are providing proof of my responsibility. If the former, please confirm that I am not being held responsible for the debt in writing and also that if the account has already been noted on my credit report, that you will contact the bureau ( s ) in question to have the account removed. If the latter, I expect that you will provide me with an explanation as to why you have decided not to remove this account from collections and a copy of all documents relevant to the debt such as the application, bills, records of communications and payments, and any other data that indicates my responsibility. I am instructing you not to contact any third parties such as my employer, neighbors, friends or family members. In addition, you may not contact me by phone at work or at my home about this collection activity. All future correspondence should be sent to me in writing. Please acknowledge that you have received this notice within 14 days.

I noticed that I have 4 collections accounts on my credit report in XX/XX/XXXX from California business bureau which is a collections agency. The original debtor is XXXX XXXX XXXX Hospital. I only received 2 hospital bills from XXXX XXXX XXXX hospital over the course of the last 5 years. One in the amount of XXXX for a service done on XXXX and another for XXXX from XXXX. I have never received any other correspondence for anything else I owed. Because XXXX XXXX hospital doesnt not speak to you if your debt has already been bought by a debt collector, I called California Business Bureau to see what was going on and why these items were on my credit report. They told me they couldn't answer any question regarding the hospital but claimed they tried to contact me several time via phone and mail regarding the debt this conversation took place on XX/XX/2020. I let them know I was going to contact XXXX XXXX because they never sent me a bill and I have lived at the same address for 6 years, and they've verified my address several times so I know they had it. Today, XX/XX/2020 I contacted California business bureau to get more information on the 4 accounts that were on my credit report. The lady I spoke to ends up given me 3 more accounts that went to their agency making it a total of 7 accounts I have not been made aware with both XXXX XXXX XXXX hospital or the California business bureau. The first conversation I had with CBB, they never mentioned any other accounts, so I'm very confused. However, while I had her on the phone I get information about all 7 accounts now. I then contact XXXX XXXX hospital to see why I was not made aware if these Bill 's and to compare what CBB has as owed amount and what they actually has as owed amounts. The amounts didn't add up as CBB is adding interest on each of these accounts -- accounts I was never made aware of. This is not legal business practices for either of these business. Had I been made aware of this debt, I would have made arrangements to pay. It seems like XXXX XXXX hospital just sends CBB debt without having tried to retrieve and inform their customers of what they owe.

On or about XX/XX/XXXX, I took myself to the emergency room of XXXX XXXX XXXX ( hospital ) as I had a XXXX XXXX that was getting worse by the moment. I was admitted to an emergency room, and it was determined that I would be treated and kept for the evening. I was released the next day, and went about my business. I never received a bill ( which seems common since I have Medical ) from the hospital. Approximately on XX/XX/XXXX this year, I found a derogatory credit item on my XXXX credit report from a collection agency that uses the name of California Business Bureau, with an address of XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, CA XXXX I placed a phone call there on XXXX, with the intent to find out why my emergency visit to the hospital was turned over to a collection agency. The woman I spoke with indicated that my insurance did not cover the hospital visit, as I had " XXXX XXXX and the deductible had not be met '' I informed her that I had no other coverage/insurance other than Medical, and that this had never been an issue before. She stipulated at this point, that I needed to get a form ( MC 180 ) from Medical showing my coverage, and that they would then bill them ( Medical ) I reached- out to Medical and they indicated that " I needed to provide the bill from the collection agency, before they could send me this form '' I called Medical a second time, and got the same response. On XXXX, I called the collection agency, and spoke to a woman by the name of " XXXX '' who said she would forward the bill ( same bill I never received ) to my residence. On XXXX, I called the collection agency once again, and spoke to another woman there who indicated that here name was XXXX XXXX. At this time she indicated that my bill was " archived, and that forwarding it to me would take awhile '' I asked her how long/what time-frame was " awhile ''? and she replied that she had " no idea '' I am attempting to do the right thing, resolve this matter, and the collection agency is far less than helpful. The hospital is supposedly in the amount of {$2500.00}. Thank you in advance for your assistance. Sincerely, XXXX XXXX XXXX

I was served a law suit for a medical bill. My wife and I found money to use to settle this bill we had allowed to go delinquent. My wife called into the agency to attempt to settle the dept. The company took her payment information and told her that they would withdraw the lawsuit. I later called in to request verification in writing that if we paid the debt with them the lawsuit would be removed. The agent, XXXX XXXX, proceeded to become rude and question why i would allow my wife to proceed if i disagreed. I then told him i was uncomfortable with the deal multiple times and he kept interrupting and repeating what i was saying. He then offered to cancel the payment and allow us to start over. When I said I wanted that option he became ever ruder and combative. I told him all i wanted was to settle the debt and i was not comfortable. We then ended the call with him cancelling the payment. I then immediately called back to speak with a manager XXXX XXXX. I informed him of what happened and he did not care at all. He did treat me better, but then he also informed me that they would not have withdrawn the lawsuit and that we had to pay the debt in full. I told him I wanted to know if i could settle with a lump sum payment and he said i could call back and work it out with XXXX XXXX. I told him I did not want to work with XXXX and that i was not comfortable. He proceeded to tell me i had to work with him and that he was the only person on my account. Not until I told him I would be filing a CFPB complaint did he let me know i could settle and that I could call back and speak with him. Their practice was deceptive, inappropriate, and unprofessional. I called in to pay my dept and take care of things and they treated me with disrespect. This company also mislead my wife and XXXX strong armed her into a payment arrangement we could have never met. This was a clear care of bully mentality and this feels business as usual. As a person who works for a debt collection company I know how important it is to have a willing paying consumer ... this was inexcusable.

California Business Bureau of XXXX, CA, has attempted, on numerous occasions, via their representative XXXX, to collect over {$1000.00} above the principal balance of an alleged medical collection with XXXX Hospital in exchange for deletion of this account from my credit report. The company claims they have validated this debt with statements and bills in 2010, however, I stated I do not recall this, and they have refused to send updated copies of this debt validation to my current address or remove this from my credit reports. California Business Bureau has attempted to extort excess money from me, the consumer, in exchange as a barter for deletion from my credit files. I believe this to be a violation of the FCRA and a very unethical practice. I have disputed this debt with the original creditor as well, XXXX HOSPITAL, who claims that the debt is valid based upon me recalling one of the services performed ( XXXX ), though I still dispute the dates of service in question and total amount said due. The original balance is quoted as being {$1700.00}, and CBB is requesting over {$2800.00} to close the debt and remove from my credit report. In addition, I have filed a complaint with the XXXX and the Attorney General in California for this company 's extremely unethical business practices. Note that XXXX, CBB Agent, stated " I 'm not supposed to do this and normally we do not do this, but will delete this for you if you pay this amount ''. The company has refused to further dispute this information, nor has accepted responsibility for the attempted bartering with their agent and non-compliance with FCRA. It is also worth noting that NEITHER THE ORIGINAL CREDITOR ( XXXX HOSPITAL ) OR THE COLLECTION AGENCY ( CALIFORNIA BUSINESS BUREAU ) HAVE COPIES OF MY DRIVER LICENSE, SIGNED DOCUMENTS BY MYSELF, or SOCIAL SECURITY CARD proving this is my debt, or that I was seen on the alleged date of service for the alleged services.

The XXXX XXXX XXXX billed me for {$120.00} in late XXXX and I never knew about this charge until a few months later when apparently a collections agency, California Business Bureau, was put on the case. When I finally heard from the California Business Bureau in XXXX XXXX, I paid off the debt immediately in full. I had called them last week regarding this affecting my credit almost 4 years later as it was never disclosed that this would affect my credit score and, as a result, there was no disclosure that I had the right to dispute this affecting my credit. When I called, I was put on hold over almost an hour, just to get a representative who was extremely accusatory and said that they had sent a bill to a particular address. This address was NOT correct, and was a version of my address with typos in it. The representative was aggressively asserting that I must have gotten their bill since they did n't receive any " return mail '' but I know that is impossible because she did n't even have the correct address on file for me. In addition, she said they made several attempts to call. I never received any phone calls or voicemails from anyone telling me that they were calling to collect a debt for the XXXX XXXX XXXX. I am not going to stand for my credit being affected by XXXX points just because this debt collection agency could n't get my address right or properly make contact with me when billing me. It 's clear that the way this collections agency handles business is extremely unprofessional as illustrated by their numerous negative XXXX and XXXX reviews. I was told by the XXXX to contact the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and I wanted to make sure that everyone knows this is the manner in which they conduct business -- affecting your credit score for years after a mistake on their end, just to insist they were not at fault and berate you on the phone after putting you on hold for an hour.

California Business Bureau is reporting a medical bill to XXXX that I believe was fraudulently incurred by someone I know using my information. I did not believe I incurred this bill and I have informed them ( disputed the bill ) in writing. They acknowledge that dispute on my credit report. They claim the dispute is resolved but it was not. I believe California Business Bureau has violated numerous laws and continues to willingly do so. It was already on my credit before they even attempted to communicate with me let alone validate it properly. This is a violation of the FDCPA. I have a right to have a debt validated BEFORE being reported by a 3rd party. During the dispute process I requested validation of the debt. This was done in writing. I have never received a response to my request for validation. Failure to respond to a request for validation is a violation of FDCPA Section 809 ( b ), FTC opinion letter Cass from XXXX and if this is not removed I intend seek damages. The only thing I have received is a single bill with very little information about the alleged bill. They have refused to provide a detailed itemization sufficient to show that the debt was valid, that contains enough detail to meet the standard established by case law Fields v. Wilber Law Firm, XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX ... They have not given me proof that the collection company owns the debt/or has been assigned the debt. This is basic contract law. They have not provided a copy of a statement from the original creditor. I believe that it was retracted by the original service provider and has a XXXX balance for quite some time now and they continue to knowingly report it inaccurately which is a violation of FCRA Section 623 XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX for XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Case XXXX XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, Filed ( XXXX No. XXXX ).

On XX/XX/XXXX I noticed on my Credit Report 2 collections from a Debt Collection Company California Business BU billing me for two medical accounts I have absolutely no knowledge of. Account # XXXX claiming I owe a debt of XXXX and Account # XXXX claiming I owe a debt of XXXX. Both of these accounts by the company California Business BU are being reported on XXXX. I quickly disputed both of these claims. I use a company called XXXX XXXX a credit monitoring service since I've had a problem with my personal info having been used in the past. They notified me that there had been a change in my report and the change had been that California Business Bu on the XXXX of XXXX had removed Account # XXXX in the amount of XXXX and immediately thereafter had made a new collection account and placed it in my report Account # XXXX in the amount of XXXX. When comparing the two collection accounts being reported by this business you will notice that both accounts are the same account number # XXXX only one is now for XXXX with the dates of : Date Last Active XX/XX/XXXX Date Opened XX/XX/XXXX Date Last Reported XX/XX/XXXX and the other account is # XXXX claiming XXXX with the dates of Date Last Active XX/XX/XXXX Date Opened XX/XX/XXXX Date Last Reported XX/XX/XXXX As you can see this is a violation of The Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Credit Billing Act, and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Violating my Right to Information which requires producers to provide accurate and truthful information when advertising. Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, a debt collector is forbidden to claim False Statements, and use Unfair and Deceptive Practices. Both of these accounts need to be removed from my credit report and whoever is furnishing information to the National Bureaus is clearly taking advantage of the privilege to be able to do so in a negligent and careless manner.

I received notification from a home lender that I have a collection account on my credit from California Business Bureau for {$590.00}. I called the California Business Bureau to learn what the account was for. I did not have knowledge of the account. They told me that it was a remaining balance from a XXXX at XXXX XXXX XXXX in 2014. They also stated that the balance had now gone from {$590.00} to {$750.00}. I called the same day the credit report was issued. California Business Bureau said that {$590.00} was the principal balance, and the additional charges was interest placed by California Business Bureau. I called XXXX XXXX XXXX to confirm that this was accurate. XXXX XXXX XXXX informed me that the principal balance was {$290.00}. The original balance was {$590.00}, however I paid {$310.00} on the day of XXXX. Leaving {$290.00} remaining. I then called my insurance to confirm that the patient responsibility being claimed by XXXX was correct. They said that the patient responsibility had been fulfilled and no other payment was due. I then called California Business Bureau again, and explained the descreency between my insuracne company, the hospital and them. They told me I was wrong, and to quote XXXX XXXX ( who I spoke to ) I was " full of XXXX. '' I suggested more than once that I would pay the true balance of {$290.00} declared by XXXX XXXX XXXX that was sent to California Business Bureau, including their interest. They declined, and only would allow me to pay their stated about of {$750.00}. They continued to claim that I was lying. I offered XXXX to have a call with me and XXXX XXXX XXXX so we could collectively get to the bottom of the true balance owed. She declined.

XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter from California Business Bureau , Inc. asking me to pay a debt from a hospital visit on XX/XX/XXXX for {$1300.00} plus {$290.00} of interest. XX/XX/XXXX I sent a fax to the California Business Bureau , Inc. with a statement from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX showing a balance due of {$660.00} I also faxed a letter to dispute the debt amount. XX/XX/XXXX I called California Business Bureau , Inc. to confirm they received my fax, the person with whom I spoke confirmed it and also explained that one of my health insurance provider, XXXX, paid for my visit to the hospital but they later claimed their money back. She also advised me to call XXXX. I contacted XXXX to confirm this information and the representative informed me that XXXX never paid any amount of that bill because of my deductible hence they never claimed any money back. XX/XX/XXXX I called XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to verify the amount of my debt and the representative said the hospital sent a balance due of {$660.00} XX/XX/XXXX I called California Business Bureau , Inc. to request an explanation of the amount they are collecting and the manager of my account did not even let me talk she started talking about my insurance provider and that I should contact them, and when I tried to tell her that I talked to them, she never let me. I also told her that I did not understand why she was talking to me that way if I was being polite to her and I only was trying to get responses about the amount they are charging. This agent offered to transfer the call to her supervisor but I was transferred to a voice mail machine instead, I left a message with my name and phone number but I have not been contacted.

I received notification of a medical bill being owed from XXXX XXXX XXXX. I asked the company to verify the debt and was told they had already done so. I explained I had relocated a few times so please forward me the information. My spouse was in the car when a representative contacted me and the call was on speaker through the car. She informed him the debt had to do with a XXXX test and XXXX check. This caused an argument between the two of us in which I had to disclose XXXX I had suffered and that is why I went to XXXX. I did reach out to the collection agency and informed them the bill amount was incorrect because I never took a XXXX test. Sh stated it is standard for hospitals to give one. I informed her I am XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX since XX/XX/XXXX therefore the doctor would not have done so. I asked if she could contact XXXX and get the amount of the XXXX test removed because XXXX will not speak with me due to the debt being purchased by California Business Bureau. I even stated I a willing to pay the entire amount due if they can remove it from my credit reports because of it being an inaccurate amount. Both the representative and the Supervisor stated no because a complaint from my representative was made against the company by a Mr. XXXX. I was informed if this is not pain they will report it each month on my credit as a new debt and begin legal action. I understand it is the collection company 's right to collect what is owed but it appears as if I am being punished due to a complaint lobbied against them in reference to me by my realtor. I have spoken with this company between XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX.

I received a letter from California Business Bureau back in XX/XX/2020 requesting a payment of {$300.00} and change. I contacted them and escalated the matter to a XXXX by the name of XXXX XXXX to explain to her that this charge is wrong, unauthorized, and I have the proof from the doctor at XXXX who was trying to help me resolve it ( attached ). Ms. XXXX asked me to send her the proofs which I did in my email dated XXXX ( attached ) to look into this matter. On XXXX I got a notification from my credit bureau that there's a collection on my bureau ( attached ) and my credit score dropped by 80 points. I called California Business Bureau left multiple unanswered messages to Ms. XXXX today XXXX. Finally they transferred me to Ms. XXXX XXXX. She acknowledged having received my dispute and documents back in XXXX, and acknowledged that they have not sent me any form of communication in response ( no email, mail, phone call, text message ... nothing ). They did not even try to collect the money since then. Instead they went straight to the bureau and ruined my credit. She offered to make a payment and she would " remove the collection from my bureau '' to " help me ''. I didn't trust that this is possible, I was willing to pay something I don't owe for them to restore my credit. I felt helpless. I asked multiple times why didn't anyone send me any communication in response to the dispute since XX/XX/2020? No explanation given other than " it's your credit sir ''. This is too much power that no-one should have over any person. I am glad to find that I do have a recourse by filing this complaint.

Recently, I noticed a negative item on my credit report that does not belong to me. The collection agency is California Business Bureau ( CBB ) and the original creditor is XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I wrote to CBB requesting account validation, in accordance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ). On XX/XX/XXXX, they responded by saying " there is no basis in law to substantiate your right to such information ''. CBB proceeded to provide creditor and account information including an amount they say I owe of {$890.00} and added {$500.00} interest for a total of {$1300.00}. They included no validation, but included a database printout of a patient inquiry report with service dates, service codes, and service code descriptions. No HIPAA release form for release of patient information was ever sent to me. Moreover, I have never been a patient or done business with said creditor, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ). My name has been used fraudulently in this medical debt collection account unbeknownst to me between CBB and XXXX dating back to XX/XX/XXXX. Furthermore, since XX/XX/XXXX, I have been corresponding with XXXX to resolve this to no avail. I have requested physical verification/validation of the original signed consumer contract. They persist in refusing to remove this fraudulent, unverified, erroneous item from my credit report. The outcome is that this negative item remains on my credit report, negatively and wrongfully harming my ability to enjoy the benefits of good credit. This negative item is causing me severe problems in trying to purchase a home.

I heard from this company one time. They called me and told me about a debt that was not mine. I have been a victim of stolen identity since XXXX. My purse was stolen by a room mate of mines and every since this happened I had random things pop up that do not belong to me. This company California Bureau contacted me telling me about a hospital debt saying my New York insurance did not cover it. I was unaware about what this place was speaking of especially since the spoke of a debt from XXXX and I recently just got the phone number they were calling me from. Next she just started telling me I had 30 days to give them the money and that they know where I live and if they have to put this on my credit it's going to ruin it. I then went on to explain that I was not the person who was there, she kept saying oh well you have 30 days and I'm sending a statement to a address that I no longer reside at. She then warned me that this is going to damage my credit if she had to report it and she does not get the money. Next thing I notice in XXXX someone illegally ran my credit report and the notes said I applied for a loan. ( same company ) I did not give them permission to run my credit nor did I apply for a loan. A couple weeks later They placed a collection on my credit. I assume the person that stole my identity has been using my medical insurance and was not able to use it with these people and then they tracked me down due to searching my credit profile with the unauthorized inquiry. This is not my debt and I don't want to continue being responsible for an Identity thief.

I have had a few debts from XXXX XXXX sent to this particular debt collector called California Credit Bureau. I have just paid for another one today. First to note, is that XXXX makes their billing system very confusing, and it is very difficult to understand their billing and insurance statements. For example, we pay all co-pays ( typically {$30.00} - {$100.00} ) for my family of 5 at each visit. Often, XXXX will bill the co-again on the follow up bill. We dont pay it because we KNOW we paid it at the office, etc. The issue is that this collection agency uses virtually NO communication, which makes it impossible to resolve prior to going to collections. I think they are actually doing this on purpose so they can make the added fees. They claim they leave phone messages - of which I have never received one. I verified my phone number and address they have on file. I do get some phone messages that sound like robo-calls occasionally, but the first 5 - 10 seconds are cut off and you hear the dialog only say ... .call 800 ... but not identify who it is or what. On this last collection of XX/XX/XXXX for {$180.00} ( which I just paid ) I asked when was the last written communication for this and verified my address. They said XX/XX/XXXX for a debt incurred in mid XXXX, and recorded a collection on my credit in XX/XX/XXXX. They said they made no communication to me from XXXX to XXXX of XXXX, and only sent 1 letter back in XXXX. This seems predatory to NOT attempt to communicate and them trump up the charges and record a collection on credit report.

Hi, my problem consists in an older case which apparently is the root cause of my credit score is not optimum reflecting my behavior. I found this problem last year when I approached a mortgage broker to qualify for a mortgage. Once he brought up this info ( which is ridiculous as all XXXX totals in {$190.00} and all XXXX were paid in full ). California Business Bureau ( CBB ) is the credit collection agency which I have tried calling to remove the XXXX collection reports which they in all XXXX cases told me verbally that if paid within a 30 day time limit it would not enter my credit report. I paid all XXXX incidents immediately upon the notification but apparently they did not keep their work. Every time I called them they reject me. I 'm not very familiar with credit score, however my mortgage broker suggested I should try to fix the score before applying for a mortgage as my score would be significantly higher resulting in a more affordable mortgage - and nobody is in debt nor is the balance in question of significance. CBB has never notified me about any rights to dispute their filings, hence it was left on my credit report for a while until I found it via the mortgage broker. However I found on the internet someone suggesting to file a dispute with the credit agency. I 'm not sure what to write and who to address, CBB? XXXX? Fico? ... As I would really like to be able to afford a permanent home for my kids to be raised in, can you provide me some guidance on how to proceed with this, please?

On XXXX XXXX XXXX I disputed information on my XXXX Credit report that did not belong to me. There were XXXX adverse accounts from California Business Bureau that I was unfamiliar with. These accounts belonged to someone with a different address, last name, and social security number. On XXXX XXXX XXXX I received a mail correspondence from XXXX, report number XXXX ( attached ) finding in my favor and that all XXXX negative items were deleted from my credit report immediately. On XXXX XXXX XXXX I logged in to my XXXX credit tracker account and notice that all of the previous adverse accounts removed from my credit report 21 months ago had been reinserted with no notice of investigation or certification of accuracy of information. as required by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. I filed the appropriate dispute with XXXX on XXXX XXXX to get these items removed. I received a response from XXXX on XXXX XXXX Report Number XXXX in which they decided to delete XXXX of the XXXX accounts which are all the same accounts from the same alleged debtor, California Business Bureau that had all been deleted 21 months ago. There is no reason to not delete all of these account I have proven that they are not mine. They are exactly the same name and dollar amount as the ones deleted 18 months ago. My complaint is that XXXX has failed to follow the laws of the Fair Credit Reporting Act by not giving me proper notification of investigation, or certifying the information that was previously deleted by them 18 months prior.

Hi, I am writing this email regarding a court case that was defaulted against me. I am a combat veteran who has been in 5 combat deployments and was blown up and shot. I suffered significant and life long disabilities. I have undergone over XXXX surgeries. I am honorably discharged and seek medical through the VA. In XX/XX/2017, I suffered a XXXX XXXX XXXX and lost all XXXX in my XXXX. I couldnt make the drive over an hour to XXXX XXXX, VA. I called the VA to get approval to go to the emergency room at XXXX XXXX. I have the approval letter from the VA. After the approval letter, it says that the payment is agreed upon between the VA and XXXX XXXX . XXXX XXXX took partial payment for the doctor and rejected the payment for the emergency room. A couple years later, I received a summons from the California Business Bureau to go to court and they placed a lien on my house. After I was served I was told after contacting an attorney that I only had 30 days to dispute the case. I am on XXXX on low income and didnt have a way to hire an attorney to represent me. I then find out that the court made a judgement against me to pay the amount and the attorney. This is absolutely disgusting that business are doing this to XXXX veterans and I could only imagine how many veterans they are doing this to especially through injuries and approvals. If theres any assistance to help veterans or how to deal with this.

I was sent a collection letter on XX/XX/2021 attempting to collect a debt of {$230.00} from CBB ( California Business Bureau , Inc. ), ( attached ) and replied with a with a personal dispute letter on XX/XX/2021 ( attached ) stating that I do not owe the debt and I was requesting supporting information. 30 days passed and I did not receive a reply nor was I contacted in any way. I was then contacted via telephone on XX/XX/2021, nearly 4 months later ( screenshot of call attached ) from XXXX XXXX XXXX , XXXX attempting to settle the same debt. I explained that this should not be a debt owed and that I had requested, in writing, the supporting information back in XXXX and never received anything from the agency and the service caller quickly hung up. Now, I have just received another collection letter from XXXX XXXX XXXX , XXXX with the opening line stating that the requested information is enclosed and it is only a statement of charges, not a breakdown of charges or any supporting information. I do not owe this debt and have been attempting to resolve this accordingly and these agencies are not following the legal protocol and are only using aggressive measures in an attempt to bully/harass me into paying this debt that I firmly deny. I would like to submit a formal complaint and have these two agencies held accountable for harassment and failure to collect a debt legally.

California Business Bureau Inc is attempting to charge interest in the amount of {$160.00} on an account that does not have interest tied to it in the original contract as it is a medical debt. When I spoke to California Business BureaXXXX on XX/XX/2023 at XXXX PST the collector stated that they did not have the original contract that stated they were legally allowed to charge interest on this account and that they were able to charge the interest " because I didn't pay it. '' When I spoke to the original debtor ( the hospital ), they stated that they do not charge interest on their accounts. This means that CBB is charging interest illegally under 15 U.S.C. 1692 et seq. of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act as well as misrepresenting my legal rights as a consumer ( another illegal practice under FDCPA. ) Furthermore, they called both of my parents on XX/XX/2023, which they are not allowed to do unless they're unable to locate me, which was not the case as the original letter they sent dated XX/XX/2023 stated that I have until XX/XX/2023 to respond. How can they determine if I'm unable to be located if they did not give me reasonable time to respond per their letter? This is illegal under 805 ( b ) of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

On XX/XX/2019 at approximately XXXX XXXX XXXX at California XXXX XXXX reached out to XXXX XXXX who is an employee of mine and told him they were a collection agency trying to get hold of me and asked him for my phone number. Mr. XXXX came to me and gave me the message. I called XXXX. I asked what this was about. She explained that it was a medical collection account for my daughter. I explained to her that my ex wife ( mother of my daughter ) has a history of incurring medical bills for my daughter without my authorization and that there are court orders in place on how this is to be handled. I kept asking her who incurred the bill and she kept telling me that it could be reported and if I was going to pay the bill. I kept asking her for information and for them to send me something in writing so I could find out if in fact I authorizes this or not. My daughter has had extensive medical bills and some of them I have and some I have not. She asked me for my address. I supplied it. She asked me for my cell and I supplied it. I asked her for who the responsible party was and she would not respond. I asked her to only communicate in writing and she continued to threaten me with reporting it on my credit.

The California Business Bureau ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX Ca XXXX phone XXXX ) opened a debt collection with me in XX/XX/2019 when I received a letter from them. I called them in XXXX asking them to show me what the specific debt was. Within a couple of weeks I learned it was a medical bill from the the previous fall that was legitimate. I paid in full in XXXX. Never in my conversation with California Business Bureau did they say if you don't pay by a specific date we'll report this on your credit. Even though I paid it in full in XXXX ( 2 months after they opened the account! ) they reported it to credit bureaus creating the only delinquency mark I have had on my credit in 30 years ). I didn't know I had a mark on my credit until I applied for a home equity loan in XXXX. I was shocked that CBB had reported me even then I'd spoken with them, received their information, and paid the bill in full in XXXX. All within 2 months. If that's legal, it should not be. Medical billing is confusing and works against consumers. The fact that a collection agency can harm my credit after I paid the bill in full within 2 months is outrageous. I believe CBB 's practices are misleading and harming.

XXXX collections from California Business Bureau are on my credit reports. The hospital made billing errors with insurance co and should not have reported these. They corrected the problem, sent me an email explaining they had contacted collection agency to remove. I also got a letter from the collection agency apologizing and promising to remove negative info. Letter dated XXXX/XXXX/2016. This has not been done, All XXXX credit bureaus told me they have not been contacted by collection agency. This is a significant error on my report and has caused me other credit problems, lowering of credit limits, credit denial. All I want is this fixed by removing these. There are collections that are also incorrrect. Can you give me attorney information that I may contact here in XXXX XXXX to help me with these. It is very tiring and time consuming and I am ready to hire a professional to handle this for me. When I called the collection agency I was handled very rudely by some female who may or may not have been nothing more than a secretary. It was apparent she had no desire to help or even cared that I was concerned about correcting this issue.

XX/XX/2022, I sent a letter to California Business Bureau to validate he debt that I allegedly owe. Under the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act ( FDCPA ), I have the right to request validation of the debt you say I owe you. I am requesting proof that I am, undeniably, the party you are requesting to pay this debt. I am requesting validation of the date of alleged medical service, the name of the patient, and proof that there is some contractual obligation that is binding on me to pay this debt. Any agreement with your client that awards you the authority to collect on this alleged debt, or proof of acquisition by purchase or assignment, and authorization under subtitle D of the ARRA, SEC. 13401. APPLICATION OF SECURITY PROVISIONS AND PENALTIES TO BUSINESS ASSOCIATES OF COVERED ENTITIES ; and SEC. 13407 ( 1 ) BREACH OF SECURITY. I discovered a collection account from California Business Bureau recently. I knew nothing about this bill because they never contacted me before placing it on my credit, which by law, they are required to do. I immediately disputed it with all XXXX credit bureaus and they have 30 days to contact the original creditor to verify the account. They responded back in a week that they had done so and the account was indeed mine. However, I contacted the hospital office that they were supposed to and they assured me that they had NOT heard from California Business Bureau AT ALL. Which means they are committing fraud and violating the FCRA. I did research into California Business Bureau ( XXXX, XXXX, etc. ) and this is how they conduct their business on a daily basis. They regularly threaten people to make them pay bills, illegally take money out of people 's bank accounts, give people fake account numbers so they payments do n't credit, pretend to be linked to the State of California and exactly what they did to me, reporting a collection account to the credit bureaus without notifying the person and more.

I was not made aware of this debt/bill by the medical provider or the collection agency it was assigned to. I discovered this {$25.00} debt in collections when I checked my credit report. I have XXXX coverage through my medical insurance companies, as does my wife. My wife was also found to have XXXX outstanding bills that were found on her credit report that had gone to collections as well. The bills were created by the same hospital that charged me the {$25.00} bill, which was sent to collections. My wife and I had no idea she had any outstanding bills from this hospital until we checked her credit report at the same time we checked mine. She did not receive any bills or paper work from the hospital or collection companies either. The collection agencies removed all of my wife 's bills from her collection reports, but has refused to work with me on this issue. I have asked the medical provider to work with me on removing this from my credit report, because I never received any notification of this bill, but the hospital billing department has refused to work with me to resolve this issue.

CALIFORNIA BUSINESS BUREAU , INC has been reporting amounts to XXXX for medical debt allegedly owed to XXXX in XXXX XXXX. I have been contacting the California Business Bureau and received a reply that shows they are requesting x2 an amount of a debt collection that was taken out of my record due to it being a duplicate. I wrote a complaint about how they have not been returning my emails or calls and in their response they said they had been contacting me and I haven't been responding. This is UNTRUE and DECEITFUL for this agency and they are trying to collect a debt that isn't the amount from my records. I have never received a single collection letter nor phone call nor any other means of collection from this company regarding account XXXX and furthermore, the report on my credit by XXXX claims history of on attempt and one registration to the credit bureaus. At any rate, there is nothing fair reporting or otherwise by means of collection when one is not notified by mail nor phone nor by any means prior to slapping an unsubstantiated charge on an otherwise perfect credit report. This complaint is about XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX, California. These evil vermin saw me a year ago at their ER. They essentially read my XXXX XXXX and sent me home. The bill was over {$4200.00}, for a XXXX XXXX reading! This did not include any actual 'service ', that was all billed separately. Being post-XXXX America, and because I have the audacity to work for a living, I got bills from half a dozen different agencies. Despite attempts to make equal payments to all associated vultures, one slipped through the cracks. After 30 days without a payment these creeps sent me to a XXXX collection agency that is demanding usurious interest. The XXXX XXXX in their receivables department now refuses to work with me to get the account in good standing. Any patient not in immediate life threatening condition should avoid this place at all costs. Better to grab some cash and head to XXXX. They are a den of thieves and thugs. I can not believe this happens in America.

Received a letter from the debt collector California Business Bureau regarding medical debt. I requested this debt be sent back to the hospital for settlement and was told they could not do that. They did not provide me with a proof of charges to match the collection and was told I could not make a settlement amount with them and would have to pay them in full or set up a payment arrangement. I set up the payment arrangement to avoid this debt being reported on my credit only to find out they will still report it. I was never given written notice of the arrangement nor was I told there would be accrued interest daily. I requested on XX/XX/17 from the representative XXXX a written notice of the payment arrangement as well as information on why Im being charged interest and was told they dont provide that and they can charge interest if they want to. I believe they have violated my rights in many ways and refuse to provide requested documentation.

Received a letter from a debt collection company XXXX of 2022, in the amount of {$71.00} I responded to them stating that it wasn't my debt. I checked the box asking them to send me the address and name of the original creditor. I never received anything back. I received another letter today with the same information as the first letter, but now the amount of the debt is {$1000.00}. it can't possibly be mine. I have insurance I've never been contacted my insurance for this nor the medical facilities I go to. They mention a XX/XX/XXXXXX/XX/XXXXbut I've never been there. I'm really not sure what to do at this point but I'm sure it's not my debt. The debt collection company has XXXX different reference numbers for the XXXX letters I received. An account from California Business Bureau Account # XXXX is reporting on my XXXX report. I am attaching a copy of the bill as proof, and furthermore I have already verified with the hospital that this is a billing error. They have made it clear that the patient was in fact covered at the time of this hospital visit. This error on my report has caused my business much harm and CBB should know that if this item is not removed I will take legal action. A copy of the FCRA is also attached as you will find this error is also in violation of many codes listed.

I thought I was paying a debt I owed to the a state of California agency. This caused distress as I am a XXXX XXXX XXXX. I paid the debt not realizing that it was actually a debt collection company for medical debt. The name California Business Bureau is very misleading and is purposefully intended to trick consumers and pressure them into paying by associating itself as a state agency or credit bureau. Pursuant to Federal Trade Commission ( FTC ) Opinion Letters XXXX ( XXXX ) and XXXX ( XXXX ), CALIFORNIA BUSINESS BUREAU, is in violation of Section 807 ( 16 ) of the FDCPA which states " a debt collector may not use any false, deceptive, or misleading representation or means in connection with the collection of any debt. '' This company is engaging in capricious activity and attempting to mislead consumers by associating itself with the state of California and as a credit bureau.

I disputed this debt with the credit bureaus and directly with the collection agency via certified mail. At no time did I receive any documentation that legally verifies this debt. I have not even received correspondence from this company at all except for the original letter. Congress states that the only legal verification is the physical documentation that was filled out when this account was opened and this documentation was never sent to me. In addition, I 'm pretty certain that a company can not just state that the debt is mine, or else anyone can state that anyone owes them money. Where 's the proof and why ca n't this company produce it? I never stated it was identity theft, I never stated that it was n't mine. What I am stating is that I do not recall this debt and that I know my rights in regards to items reporting on my credit report : they must all be legally verified.

XX/XX/2018, California Business Bureau received my certified letters ( 4 ) requesting them to validate the debt being reported on XXXX under my social security number per the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. In turn, the receptionist at the front desk of my job told me their were papers left for me at her desk. It was a summons I was being sued by California Business Bureau. They failed to provide any contract bearing my signature to validate the debt they were looking to collect or exactly what medical services they were collecting for. I have no idea who these people are. I pulled a new credit report on XX/XX/2018 and they failed to communicate to XXXX credit bureau the debt had been disputed within the 30 day time period. A direct violation of FDCPA Section 807 ( 8 ). They also did not validate and provide any proof or contract bearing my signature I owe them anything.

I paid this medical account in full with the original creditor ( XXXX XXXX University XXXX XXXX XXXX ) and I was assured that the collections entry were going to be removed completely from all credit bureaus. The collection agency is refusing to remove the entry after a full payment was made to the original creditor and the collection agency is reporting the account as a paid collection instead of removing the account as I was told and agreed to. The main purpose to remove the account from my credit report is to lessen the impact on my credit score and be clear of any collections. I was assured that after making a " full payment '' the account was going to be completely removed and now that they received my money are refusing to remove the account from my credit report and instead just updated the account to reflect as a paid collection, this is a violation of our agreement.

The Califonia Business bureau has committed various deceptive and egregious acts to attempt to extort me into paying this debt. Firstly they have listed it on my credit report as several collections instead of one to attempt to ruin my credit. Secondly they have never provided any signed document, a copy of my id at the date of service or any such agreement saying that I would pay this debt. Thirdly when I called them to try to resolve the collection without going to court they asked for my " social security number to look up my account '' Once I gave it to them innocently the collection agent on the phone said we will never take this off your credit report and said now we have your social security number so you cant get out of this. It has been a terrible experience and this is my final step before pursuing legal action.

I was previously contacted by this company months ago. They did not disclosed they were a debt collector until i asked. I informed them I did not have any knowledge of this and had not got a first notice in the mail. She then said she would send one, still have not received anything in the mail. On todays phone call she verified my address she has on file in Oregon is correct. I asked for another copy of everything, she was RUDE and said " Ma'am i already sent it what's the difference '' I am trying to resolve this matter and she made it very difficult and talked over me many times. Over the course of that year, my insurance provider ( through my employer ) had changed. I had no idea that they sent it to collections instead. I never received a notice or option to dispute from " CALIFORNIA BUSINESS BUR '' who now shows on my credit report.

After finding these inaccurate items on my credit report and having never been contacted by this company or the original creditor as required under the law, I requested the information on the debts they say that I owe. They have failed to provide the actual invoices which these debts were incurred with. Despite the request and lack of response from them, they have confirmed to the Credit Reporting agencies that this debt is valid. These are medical bills for the most part. I have always had medical insurance and paid my deductibles. I am guessing that these amounts should have been written off by the medical providers according to their agreements with my insurance but are trying to collect in violation of their agreements with the insurance companies.

So on XX/XX/2021 I sent out a letter to them asking them to validate this account and to send me proof of the debt. I wanted them to send me proof that the debt was mine. However, in XX/XX/2021, they wrote a letter back stating, " there is no basis in law to substantiate your right to such information ... there is no duty to comply ''. I find this hard to believe since there are laws regarding this. I wrote to them again, however, I am submitting a complaint here because I do not want to be lied to by this company.

XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX, CA wouldn't adjust my charges despite appeals that they were grossly over-stated. I ultimately paid the bills because the collection agency threatened my credit score if I didn't pay. The collection agency, California Business Bureau ( " CBB '' ), said that they would not make derogatory claims to the credit agencies if I paid the balance and any derogatory notices to the credit reporting agencies would be rescinded from my record. That still hasn't occurred and my credit score is suffering. They made 3 " Major Derogatory '' claims against my credit on XX/XX/21, XX/XX/21 and XX/XX/21 - all of which were excessive and have not be rescinded.

A portion of my medical bill was sent to the California Business Bureau and I reached out to the company to find around {$80.00} dollars in interest fees were charged to my account. I was seeking to have the policy and/or information containing the companies legal right to charge interest on a medical bill sent to me. The Vice President continued to tell me it was her legal right to charge interest. I again asked her to send the policy to me and she continued to talk over me and she appeared very angry that I was asking for what I believe to be my right. I do not feel I was adequately advised as to why I was being charged additional monies on my account.

I just downloaded the XXXX app to help increase my credit score and upon so noticed I had 2 {$100.00} bills submitted to collections from the Hospital. I never received the bills and was never notified it was going to collections. I contacted collections and asked if I could make payments because I can not afford to pay the full amount and was informed that could not and that there are interest charges to these medical bills. I would like to dispute both debts on my collections since I was informed that by XX/XX/2023 agencies are going to remove medical debts from collections when the bills are {$500.00} or less. Please advise on what I can do.

I didn't consent or allowed this company to make a request and I didn't request or summit any request for any type of loan. This company later made an installment loan inquiry. I am concern that the above company will continue to violate my privacy.

I have repeatedly requested proof of this medical debt being mine but the address wasnt mine, I didnt have a child at that hospital, and I lived in a different state at the time the claimed services were provided. They wont send me any proof with an actual signature and I sent a copy of my lease at the time they claim I had services. I was also sent a full copy of the persons medical information which is a violation of HIPPA. They have multiple collections on my report and refuse to remove any of them and theyre charging interest on it so its hurting my score more and more. I have gone 3 or four rounds with these people.

I have been receiving this bill of {$1600.00} for years now. I was a MINOR at the time these services were provided, they were not only PAID by my parents insurance but the merchandise was RETURNED to the medical facility because they were DEFECTIVE. The debt is incorrect and not mine. I am XXXX years old now and I should NOT have to be responsible for paying for a hearing aide that I RETURNED and that NEVER WORKED in the first place. We were not supposed to be billed once we returned the product. This is a FALSE charge. I have made several attempts to remove this from my credit/record and have gotten nowhere.
